It didn't restarted again means there is some problem in installing. Please read this for more info and make sure you get the exact result as mentioned there.
Few things to keep in mind...
1. [format, optional but recommended] and mount sd-ext at boot
run mount | grep sd-ext command in terminal for it.
Make sure you get this result
/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 on /sd-ext type ext3 (rw,noatime,nodiratime,barrier=1,nodelalloc,data=ordered)
If not format or repartition your sd-ext and try again.
2. mount /data and /system on CWM recovery

Well you might not get the same like yagya did : /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 on /sd-ext type ext3 (rw,noatime,nodiratime,barrier=1,nodelalloc,data=ordered) .
The ext3 for you could be a ext4 so don't be afraid or shocked if you get other filesystem

Ok..then I will format my extra partition and try it again..and the ext partition must be formatted in recovery right? Or any specific mthd i should follow to format it...?

no need to mount sd-ext, only need to mount system and data when flashing dtapps2sd, and try a2sdgui to confirm the script is working or not.

android see its intalled in the phone memory, but technically it resides in your sd-ext.

Ya it can install the apps to sd ext automatically once you install the scripts...download dt a2sd gui from market and select dalvik cache on sd ext..that's it all your apps will be installed on the partition that you have created...

If you are still having problem with Darktremor A2SD Script and are fed up use this alternative method to move app to sd-ext....

Yes, it is perfectly fine if you make one with gparted or mini tools... make sure you run this command in terminal before flashing a2sd...
mount | grep sd-ext
thanks to both
what mount | grep sd-ext exactly do?
aso my gparted already see my sdext partition ext4 if i partitioned it from recovery is that possible or an error?
That command checks if there exists an sd ext partition.
I don't know abt gparted but cwm formats the card and partitions it so it should not be a prob
I used minitools for partitioning
u can go for ext4 no harm in tht
if ur using mini tool make sure u keep all partitions as primary
also ext2/3/4 wont b detected on windows so dont panic if u dont see the partitions once done they r thr meant for ur phone nt windows
Without a2sd what is the exact command to convert partition to ext4 ? It can be very useful

yeah, but "problem" is after a restore. If we convert partition in ext4 after restore, all data already in partition remain on ext3, only new data will be on ext4.
So it will be good that cwm could format always sdext in ext4

I believe that you are taking about the cache that will use your internal memory even if you have a2sd enabled. THough it is not recommended to do so unless needed (i.e. your memory is very low) you can move dalvik cache to sd-ext from APP2SDGUI app or though this simple command
su
a2sd cachesd
It will move dalvik cache to sd-ext.

Don't try anything eles.... Just install darktremor as said here http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/09/how-to-partition-sd-card-and-install.html
If possible format your sd-ext before installing darktermor app2sd. THen all you need to so is move dalvik to sd-ext as said above. And your internal memory will be totally empty. You can explorer /sd-ext/ folder using root explorer to see if a2sd is working properly.
After using link2sd for a day, I find that it is working, and it even allows u to specify which apps to move, and what all to move...
I did partition before using a2sd, and I understand the thing about the dalvik cache (moving which would make my device slower)...
Anyways, thanks for replying...

Try manually editing the mount script.
I don't really remember where the link2sd mount script was created for stock roms without /init.d i think it was in a file called init.d at the root of the phone or system/ or system/etc.
Look it up, open it as text, locate the link2sd mount script.
The part where it says 'mount -t ext3 -o rw /dev/block' change 'ext3' to 'ext4' in all lines required, reboot. Check link2sd again to see if it worked.
Otherwise, enable the system/etc/init.d address by flashing cf-root or flash a custom rom.

Or ext4, maybe there is issue with ext3 partitions and this rom. I've read an article that said that, ext4 partitions are not well supported, ext2, ext3 are supported with most of the roms
Edit: Now I saw that after reboot, A2SD is set back to none. Maybe I am having the superuser issue. I've flashed the fix, and will try again.

As I know CWM (in ics and jb kernels) creates ext4, so choose ext4 in link2sd and it should work fine.

[Guide][Script]How to increase the Internal Memory

HI ! In this tutorial i am going to show ya all How to Increase the Internal Memory on SGA GT-S5830i.
This tutorial is not my work. I have taken other tutorials and made one full. As many people were a bit confused about doing this , here it is the all in one tutorial
What do you need :
- CronMod Script
- CWM
- Brain
- Latest Rafael.Baugis Kernels
CronMod Script by Styrke link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1955422
- Now download the "Cronmod Unofficial by Styrke" from the thread ( I strongly recommand it , not the other versions because it doesn't lag and GPS works )
- Place it on SD Card after 1st step [ Partition SD Card step ]
Now we are going to make a partition to the SD Card so backup all your SD Card before doing this ( It formats it )
ClockWorkMod Recovery link : http://www.mediafire.com/?a4j6zsoyaihhy60
- Place it on SD Card after 1st step [ Partition SD Card step ]
Link2SD : Link in PlayStore ( Download when it's time to download on the installation steps lol :silly: )
OK , Let's start now :
Partition SD Card :
1) Open CWM Recovery
2) Go to "Advanced"
3) Select "Partition SD Card"
4) Choose your SD-ext size (if you’re using a 2Gb SD card, choose 512Mb. If your SD card is 4Gb or greater, you can choose 1024Mb)
5) Select "0M" Swap.
6) Wait for the procces finish.
7) Reboot.
8) Now download Link2SD from Playstore.
9) Open Link2SD you will be prompted to choose between ext2, ext3, ext4 or FAT32.
10) First , Choose ext2. If it don't work then restart Link2SD and when then don't choose ext2 but ext4. ( Don't worry , it works )
11) It will say mount script created. Reboot your phone now.
12) Open link2sd and if the message doesn’t show up, you succeded.
13) Go to Link2sd>Settings>check the autolink.
14) To check your memory, select “Storage Info”. This will show you the current state of your internal memory, FAT32, and ext2 partition.
Click to collapse
Placing the 2nd partition of SD Card to internal.
15) Now your SD Card is formated .
16) Place the CronMod Script on your SD Card ( Cronmod Unofficial file )
17) Open CWM again
18) Foramt /data /sd-ext /system
19) Mount /system
20) Flash custom rom
21) Remount /system
22) Flash "Cronmod Unofficial " script.
23) Reboot
Click to collapse
Alternative mod : If you have already your custom ROM just do these easy steps :
1) Format /data /sd-ext
2) Mount /system
3) Flash "Cronmod Unofficial" script
4) Reboot
Click to collapse
NOW YOU SUCCESFULLY INCREASED YOUR INTERNAL MEMORY
How to delete 2nd partition and revert to normally :
1) Go to CWM
2) Go to Mounts and Storage
3) Choose " format /sdcard "
4) Done
Click to collapse
Note : Backup everything again or you will lose every app installed on 2nd Partition too.
Press Thanks if i helped you

But here is the problem. In CWM I don't get the option "Format /data /sd-ext" there are just the following options: format "/data or /sdcard or /system or /cache" but no option "Format /data /sd-ext"
So might it be that CWM didn't apply the extention right?
When I open Link2SD it does all the things it should do, but the internal memory is rising, so maybe it is not putting the files in the right place, someone said instead of putting them to "sd-ext" it is putting them to "sdext2"
Another point: In the tutorial u mentioned after step 14)
"Placing the 2nd partition of SD Card to internal." Is that a point I have to do?
Because right now the 2nd partition is sdext2, but it is still not preventing that the internal memory is rising.
Hope u can help me to solve this problem.

LOL. Of course there is no such option like Format /data /sd-ext. What he mean is format your data and sd-ext one by one. Meaning you should format data 1st, After finished format sd-ext.
And for your second point problem, it is a title. Not a step to follow.

Ok, but in CWM there are only the options "format data" and "format sd-card" so in this case "sd-card" and "sd-ext" is the same?
Because I don't want that the ext3 which i partitioned before will be deleted and the sd-card will only consist of one partition and not "sd-card" by itself and "ext3" part on the sd-card.
If i push "format sd-card" it will not destroy the partitions which i created before?

LOL , data2ext script is only for ext2 first and you should go to mounts and systems and format /sd-ext and data as i said in the instructions . If you can't see any , buy some glasses You haven't seen correctly ! Follow d steps carefully. It's a bit complied so you should keep an eye to the thread and an eye to the phone .. And yes if you format /sdcard your partition will revert back , so you will uninstall it

Thank you for the answers.
So yeah maybe the CWM version I'm using is outdated.
So let me ask this
in this thread there are some files to root and also have CWM.
My phone is rooted, so which file (i think they should be most up-to-date CWM-files, right?) should I download and use for CWM?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551156
So another question, so you said the partition should be ext2 not ext3, otherwise the data2ext script doesn't work, right?
I think I can't see the "format sd-ext" option, because my CWM is outdated, which version should I install? Where is the link for the most current- or usable version? Should I get the ClockWorkRec_S5830C-i-M.zip from the thread mentioned above?

Problem with installing cronmod int2ext

Hello,
I am a noob with a little experience in using custom roms on a HTC Wildfire S. My WFS is broken en since today iam a ace user. I have rooted the SGA and im using CWM recovery and installed the CM9 TW-rom from Sky-walker. GREAT ROM by the way. I want to use Int2ext cronmod script but i cant get it working. Ive already tried different things. With the WFS i always used it with a lot of different roms and had never any problems.
When installing i have followed the instructions of croniccorey.
I have format my sd-card and created a partition using CWM
Also tried it with SpaceCakers SGS and AOSP GB.
And already mounted system and data.
Does anybody have suggestions what to do?
Thanks!

Which script did you use?
Mount /system, /data, /sd-ext and flash it, It should work fine
Try to put it in init.d folder and set the permissions manually using a file browser, then reboot your device
Yes! It worked. Did a clean install mounted data enz. and fixed permissions with cwm.I am using int2ext+ now. Thanks for the input.

Apps are not installing after Int2Ext+
Hi,
I was using Apocalypse ROM with CronMod Int2Ext+ (Ext2 partition on SD) and everything was working fine. Recently, I downloaded a new ROM - The Ultimatum and installed Int2Ext+. It installed correctly, however I could not install many apps after that. Downloading from market would give an error. This problem is happening for only those several set of apps.
Can someone pls guide me as to what the problem might be. I'm kind of new here.
Regards,
Kunal

I tried the above with link2sd and darktremor a2sd as well, but all were giving the same problem. Before installing any app2sd script the applications were installing correctly. Only after installing the script they stopped working. Is there some script on The Ultimatum ROM which is clashing with the above app2sd scripts?
I know I should post this on the ROM page, however I do not have the priviledges.

Kunal

AFAIK The Ultimatum rom has already an int2ext script it might be the problem (swap all kernel) so follow he steps to install it correctly, you only need to mount /sd-ext and format this partition before flahs the rom to clean your sd-ext partition.
If you select fire kernel then you'll need int2ext script
1. download it and put it in sdcard's root
2. boot into cwm
3. mount /system /data and /sd-ext
4. format /sd-ext
5. flash the script
6. enjoy

Yes I used int2ext+. And I knew the script had worked because I could see 400mb free. But some apps were not getting installed.
