[APP] Speechy Professional (and HOW IT WORKS) - Paid Software Announcement and Discussion

Speechy Professional is now released in the marketplace and available for download at $0.99. New revision has already been submitted to make it up to speed at version 1.0.1 (Current Available: 1.0.0), so go download it now at: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/c75773d1-84a7-49d2-92a0-c2a52e0df0a3 and check often for updates!
What is Speechy...?
A translator you can really talk to, literally. Say what you need and Speechy will translate and speak out loud what you said in English for others to know what you really want to say in a foreign language. Great tool even if you're just trying to learn the language to prepare for your trip.
So when you're at the Airport and no one speaks English and you don't know the native tongue, you can say "How do I get to Terminal B" and know someone who speaks one of the 15 pre-bundled languages can help you. Why hire a Translator when the best Translator is at your fingertips and you're in control!
How is this DIFFERENT?
1). Mic/Recording Input
Simple! Our voice input function that grabs the audio you speak either close or whichever distance you may be and takes the input from the phone Mic. When using your "Mic", we've designed our own Equalizer that is built-in that actually has various functions and decreases/increases pitch, balance, volume and other aspects to obtaining the audio you speak in which it also breaks it up in to a bunch of "chunks" and sending it via Internet (Wifi Connection or 3G Required) in multiple parts to then have it run through a Speech Server where it is analyzed in each segment of your Mono input (Never Stereo).
2). Cloud Speech Server
When your multiple chunks are each processed one-by-one for better understanding, they are first run under another synthesizer to turn everything flat (Bass, Treble, Pitch/Frequency, etc...) and another technique that let's us better understand what you say, even if you have an accent to the best we can and as each few moments are separated, it allows us to promptly guess what each word is being said and if quickly it fails a built-in/server-run spelling database (Query's originally from Bing!) and if it is still valid it will continue on to check to see if it can find the next best thing using the 2nd Dictionary aka "Phrases" which uses a form of AutoComplete for quicker search which is why you may notice sometimes a little bit of lag time/timely response as it is doing it's very best to try and be 100% accurate.
e.g. "This is a test" may normally be recognized by other Speech Services as "This is a pest". In this case the word "pest" could be valid as it is a US-English Dictionary word but we have one last pass-through that has most common American English phrases that currently only has around 2,000+ but as people report more what they've tried to say and hasn't worked we can add it to the 2nd dictionary for accuracy.
3). Translated Voice Download
Once everything is assumed to be as accurate as possible it will then pass the string through the Bing Translator API and in this case grab the audio from the Bing Translator service and pass it through the App as a "Stream" to download it temporarily (removes every translation or application closing/back button pressed) but only to prepare for output in Mono or Stereo (where available).
4). Translation Output
Once the file is available it immediately streams back out at a specific pitch, frequency, mono playback but made a synthesizer that barely modifies the output a little more to make it louder and easier to understand/sound better on almost any device but more important if Stereo headset/playback is available where most App's just set Mono to Stereo for output but we playback in mono and modify it just a tad and again prepare it if Stereo should occur (Balancing the L/R Channels) but most may not even hear the difference in a loud room but the very least more clear.
Hope this gives you a better insight why a Speechy Pro edition exists for $0.99 where the free edition is awaiting Certification but doesn't have all the features for input/output or all voices available but also has Popup Ad's that aren't really intrusive as you can still record/view/hear with it popping up. Once we hit a specific amount of downloads in the pro edition, we will only continue releasing pro but freely but at this time unsure when that will be but it will just pay for the lighting/power, A/C, Internet, and misc items that we needed to build this.
Thanks!

A Trial won't exist as the Free edition will actually be the same exact thing but with Ad's. No limitations as originally thought but if the user won't want the Ad's, he/she can go Pro but we felt it wasn't fair to limit anyone from usage. Just waiting for Microsoft to accept... One day...
Do you think a trial for the pro-edition should be added? If yes, we can always throw it in...

It will be implemented inverse direction translation?
eg: from Spanish to English

In short, not at this time unfortunately.

works great! I left a review in the store; but I'll repeat my suggestion here: you should at the very least be able to replay the last translated phrase. Better yet, add a history tab to replay all previous queries.

Hello,
Thank you so much for trying out Speechy. We actually have an update that should be coming to your device very shortly that does allow re-translation. If you look at the Screen Shot's here, you'll notice the slightly different interface you have right now and that extra button does actually allow you to "Re-Translate" without re-speaking.
Where is the update? It is still being tested by Microsoft and once accepted, it will be pushed out as an Update. So check back here often OR check the Marketplace often for updates.
As for storing things spoken, that is a great suggestion. We will go forth an offer that as one of the option in most likely the next version for you, which won't be 1.0.1 (pending) or 1.0.2 (awaiting 1.0.1 release for this update to publish) but most likely 1.0.3 as this will have the "Options" button that has several additional things you can do with Speechy.
We welcome any and all suggestions as this App is for you, the end-user and as one of our customers we'd like to continue to satisfy you, so anything you'd like to see please recommend and we'll do our best to implement it in future versions.
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to try our program and especially writing a review, we do really appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Lance

(Oct-20) Little App: FuelCal v0.1.1

Hi everybody,
I wanted to learn some (basic) programming in VC# and the .Net Framework. So i looked for an idea. After a short time i had this idea, to create a program, in which you can keep track of your Fuel consumption of your car. (i think it is kind of useful, because the prices are changing every day).
I thought i'd share it here.. maybe someone is looking for a piece of software like this.. if not, just ignore it
you can test it, use it etc (whatever you want)..
Currently, there are two languages: German and English, but i dont love my English translation...
News:
v0.1.1 is now online:
I fixed the bug but another problem appeared: people who upgrade to the new version will lose all their data stored in data.xml with the uninstaller...
So i decided to create a simple Backup-Restore Function. Now, with the new version, you can Backup your Data before Upgrading and after that, you can restore it... If you use the Backup - the files will remain in your memory, until you delete them..
This is not the best way to solve the problem, because these files will stay on Memory even if the user uninstalls the program...
I read, that there is a way to costumize the setup process with a custom "Setup.dll" but i could not figure out how this works.. if anyone knows how to do this, please PM me..
Changelog:
v0.1.1 - 10/20/2008
fixed: storing units did not work
added: simple backup-function
added: simple restore-function
v0.1 - 10/19/2008
inital release
Beware: I will not guarantee for damage on your devices
If you have Bugs, ideas for new features or other feedback - let me know ..
This is a cool little program, would help a lot of people who have to teavel to work, etc..
I wish i had this when i was having some mileage problems with my car.
FuelCal
It looks good. I will give it a try.
Don't worry about your English, you can program!!!
Have a great day.
Glenn
FuelCal
Now for some more fun programming.
The store function is not storing the updated info.
It would be very useful for me if it would also calculate Mile/Gallon
Thanks.
Glenn
thanks for the feedback...
well i did not test the "Store" Feature for the Units ... bad in this case...
is will release a fixed version soon, stay tuned...
have a nice day
Just what i was looking for.
Thank you very much.
A bug
Hi. Excellent idea. You should check that on "Evaluation" the "price per Km" should be divided by 100 because it is done in cents but the unit says, when you change it, $/Km and not $cents/Km
Thanks.
Suggestion
Nice idea g3eB4Y. I will try the app.
This is something that could grow into a larger application if you want to track vehicle maintenance too. Also, I think that it would be helpful if you could simply enter the odometer reading and fuel quantity and allow the program to calculate distance.
First of all, thank you for your feedback...

I think there is nothing really wrong with the calculation.
When you change something on the settings page, you will only change the mask, but it will not affect the calculation..
The first Textbox under "Currency" will change the display for the "big-currency-unit" (€,$...) and the other textbox will change the "small-currency-unit" ($Cent, €Cent.. )
I can include a feature, that you really can change the calculation and display mode (€/km, €Cent/km, €Cent/20km ...) but at this moment, it does not

its great to see, that somebody uses it... thank you!
g3eB4Y,
Very nice app you have. I've been using a excel spreadsheet to do this and now, I'm moving over to your app.
I wonder if you could add in another method of calculating the fuel consumption.
Distance travelled / No. of Litres = km/litre
Hope you can add that in to your next update.
Thanks once again.
PS:
No big deal but if you could name your cab file with the version number, it would be great!

[APP] JustAnotherMaps -[R]- 16.12.2010 -[V]- 1.5.0.0

Name: JustAnotherMaps
It`s Just Another Maps based on OpenStreetMaps maps data. It does not use Bing maps. This app supports these features:
• Zooming
• Routing
• Searching
• GPS/Cellular/Wi-Fi location.
The main benefit is that OpenStreetMaps have a better map precision and geographical coverage especially in Western Europe, Asia and etc. The trial mode has all features except routing.
This app is built on these projects: OpenStreetMaps, CloudMade, DeepEarth, Nominatim.
Updates:
Version 1.5: Speed up the map downloading process
Version 1.4: Improved multi-touch behavior, added “follow me”, added "route here from my current position", fixed some minor bugs.
Version 1.3: Added a locate me feature and fixed non-US locale issue
Version 1.2: Added a "Locate me" feature.
Version 1.1: Added a "run under lock screen".

Hi tested the test version. Please some things:
Wishes:
- Add a button for center the map to your current position (like in bing maps)
- Add to the test version a way to test the routing (maybe limited to 10 km radius)
- Add a list for "Favourite Places" and a "Home Place" (needed for fast routing)
- Maybe you can get more input here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Android
Corrections:
- If i search for the city "bingen" i get "Ooops something is going wrong. Please restart the application"
- Multiple finger zooming is a little bit slow (hangs)
- Scroll left right with fingers is also little bit slow (compared to ta maps / bing maps)
Conclusion:
Nice work. If i can test routing and it works well i will definetly buy it.
I would love to see your app getting in the future more to a nice little openstreetmap navigation app.
Hi,
thanks for this info its really great that you find a time to add some words on it.
"Locate me" feature will be added in next version right now Im testing it. I will look at scrolling and multitouching zooming.
Is this error message appear everytime you try to search something or only on word "bingen"? On my phone everything is okey with that query as I understand its a city in Germany=)
yes. its only with the word "bingen" and yes ... all the time dont know whats up there!
No problem with "bingen" on my end (paid app).
Sent from my SGH-i917 using Board Express
Hi all,
I`ve got a user that have a potential error on samsung Omnia with routing. If somebody try to use this application on omnia please replay the feedback here. It would super usefull for me because I dont have such device on hands and cannot test it.
Thanks in advance,
Victor
Hi. I bought your app and will now test routing here in germany a bit.
What really would be a benefit for routing is:
- Map targeting to position your currently driving - walking like a compass.
- To add start position by searching the start (e.g. streetname) or "current position" and also to add end position by searching.
- Could you add something like "current speed" at top right corner?
Thanks for the "locate me" ... it works, but best to add a button or?
Btw. I'am a c# developer for 8 years now. Maybe i can help?
Sounds Good! Probably a silly question but If I am in usa, does the tool load the maps automatically? If I travel to south AMerica or Europe is it the same? Do we store the maps in the main memory or should we use data roaming? Thanks and happy new year
I'm wondering when google and ms stop there noncense and bring out google maps.
tested today routing with my car. really: it makes no sense having routing enabled and not moving the map with current location in centered mode. you do not really want the car driver to push every 10 seconds the "locate me" button, or?
another thing is to fade out the from/to location box on top if you start "routing" ...
Looking forward to hear anything new from your side for further updates.
Just bought your app because it looked promising - especially the routing.
Tested three smaller cities in Germany... each time the app crashes.
- Nordstemmen
- Wankheim
- Langenfeld
Maybe OpenStreetMap does not recognize the cities, i don't know.
But why does the app crashes because of that?
Routing:
Would love to have direct input of start and end.
Right now you can search a position, then point at it on the map and hope, it's correct.
Would also be nice if the map turns in the direction of driving (if this is possible)
Can the app run in the foreground all the time?
Rest is mentioned before.
At the monent the app is unuseable for routing.
I can imagine the hard work you had so far.
I hope you can fix the problems and make your app becomming a cool one.
Sorry for my bumpy english...
Nice job, looks promising. The routing feature is a good think that was missing ! But it needs some improvements. The most important to begin :
- realtime navigation : a step by step navigation, or at least (to begin) a realtime update of the position (like said oOp)...
- distance and time estimation when making a route, with options to choose shorter or faster path.
At the same moment it is on the same level as Bing maps:
1. Can locate me but does not want to use GPS
2. When routed and located does not update to nw position when one is moving
Those two things need to come in ASAP, a indicator when it s using GPS and when GSM location would help for now so I could see if GPS sucks or it does not use it. Second point needs attntion ASAP to make it usable. There was no Bing maps update mentioned for january so you are our last hope.

In this version the application does not store data on the phone between launching its a limitation of WP7 SDK.

Hi. Nice work, it really shows some POIs in Costa Rica, my country, not like Bing, it doesn't show a thing!
My big problem is that I can only download free apps from the marketplace or the trial versions. I REALLY, REALLY want to buy your app, also my girlfriend and 2 more friends that have WP7.
Please tell me if there is a way that I can pay you through Paypal and you give me some kind of workaround to install the full version. Please! I can't pay because my Credit Card needs to be from the USA, and it is from Costa Rica. Please help me, I am willing to pay twice of tha app's value.
Regards and please reply ASAP, I really need your app!

Hi,
As I understand you can use your card even it was issued outside of USA. You need to change settings on your computer: Locale, Location, In browser. And you need change it on these sites too: account.live.com, profile.live.com.

Hi Victor, thanks for the answer. I know you can use credit cards outside the US, but that is if you are in a country like UK where Marketplace is supported. In my country it is not supported (Costa Rica, Central America).
I have tried all the things you said but no luck. The only thing that works for me is setting everything to the US so at least I can download free apps.
Regards.

[App] BIG Dialer (Now with VOICE)

Big Dialer allows you to easily make phone calls with the big sleek looking dialpad buttons to dial phone numbers without having to squint!
Now you have the ability to Enable Voice Dialing! This feature allows you to check to enable/disable, so you can hear the buttons you're pressing as you dial, which is great if you have trouble seeing when you dial as it confirms what digit's you're really pressing.
Code:
windowsphone.com/s?appid=7cf0b981-2bac-e011-a53c-78e7d1fa76f8
good ,how can i Download it?
It's in the Marketplace.
A very good idea. Congratulations.
What i don't understand is why didn't you go for a metro look that would go well with the rest of the OS?
Wp7 has a very distinctive look, and when an app uses a different style it is immediately observable and very distracting.
First of all, THANK YOU to everyone who supported my program. I originally made this for my Mom and Grandma.
The reason I did not use metro styling, it was easier for my family to see the apps text big and bold. However, I do have another edition of big dialer coming that is completely free and for those without horrible vision, can use the metro styling which has been requested many times and really wanted to meet everyones wants/desires.
Which, if anyone has any questions, please let me know. Also, for WP7 users, if you can't wait for the new WP7 BIG Dialer and want it now but don't want to pay, ask me and I will send you the XAP for you to manually install and no payment required.
Remember to also look for I.T. Guy, a program to help service call tech's to perform repairs properly and SMS or Email invoices right from I.T. Guy to your customer immediately for payment (Payment modules on the way).
If you're a person that likes to BETA stuff, currently, Project: Job Track (not the final release name) lets you literally find jobs around you via GPS. All I can say for now...
Once again thank you everyone!!!
Upgrade - Coming
I have heard some feedback and to make things even easier and more visible... I have made 2 updates that are visible to the UI:
New Call Button (Larger + Color Change)
Phone # Box Modified (Bright-Red Gradient w/Easy Text Color)
Bug-fixes:
White Button Press Fix (Changed to Touch)
New Features:
Call History List (Dial "00")
BIG Dialer now with multi-lingual support and on-the-fly translation!

Thank you, I appreciate it. The free edition is almost out.
Add some exception handling it's closing a lot
First, thank you for your response and recommendations.
Second, unfortunately currently in the WP7 platform, it is EXTREMELY limited as to what you can do and actually out of our hands as we can't even create a cancel/dial button, only pre-set a name + number (to show who you're dialing) and make it Popup asking to dial but only cause the platform at this time does not allow it. It's extremely unfortunate as we can't even control the dial-pad size/look/feel except for 10 or so pre-set options using InputScope, which is the reason for the custom buttons but the whole reason for this specific App was to have huge buttons that were easily viewable for those who have issues seeing.
Third, as for the voice translation speaking, it may be sluggish as it currently grabs the voices via Internet and than streams it as output to your speaker phone. The previous version with the "English" speaking was very large as an App to have great quality audio that was embedded but too many complaints the app was too large, so we compromised and grab translations via the web.
Which the current method is getting updated as we are applying Speak Dial, where you literally speak and it dials what you said but also speaking (if enabled) out-loud the number prior to actually dialing and the keyboard does get a face-lift and I am sure many like yourself will be happy about .
Again thank you so much for your input, hopefully you'll like the update waiting to be accepted in the Marketplace .

notes:
the voice response is very sluggish and inconsistent.
I highly suggest using the default theme colors instead of images for the buttons.
The clear and dial buttons are too close together. I would suggest to have them separated on different corners, or use a swipe left action to clear.
I'm not sure if there is a limitation of the wp7 platform but if the call button could read out the full number and have a huge call/cancel button it would be very nice.

[APP] Speechy (FREE Edition)

Speechy Professional is ALSO available in the Marketplace, see towards the end why you may wish to upgrade. Do note that Speechy/Speechy Pro have the EXACT same Features and ZERO Limitations as some have been going around trying to claim limitations exist (Note: Currently not valid as originally once planned or "announced" but was never released with limits, so we feel any word about limitations should be put to rest as officially it never existed and hope to clarify that as originally we did so to gain more exposure, which we successful obtained and apologize for anyone who bought in to it).
You may also hear our App is just "like" everyone else's or doesn't have "this" but this is a Translator meant to have 1-true idiot proof task, to allow you to speak and translate as accurate as possible (even if it may take a few moments). So go on, take the FREE download, doesn't cost anything but your time and read below while you're download. After using our App, you determine if our App is truly no different than the others. Hope this clarifies anyones concerns and confusion.

My assumption:
It only uses English as input language. Hence, no option to select input language. The list of languages is for output language.
Note: It would be superb if you include the output text too. It would be a great language learning companion then
nice app!
Do you mean output as English? If yes, the reason behind it is the input at this specific moment only allows English and writes what you said so you're aware of what will be translated.
At this moment however, Spanish input is being worked on, in which case English output will exist for that Profile but Spanish output won't.
Thank you,
Lance

First, thank you for your kind words.
The 3rd edition in the "Options" section actually has the ability to dictate / translate to text but we tried to stay away from it but too many have asked for it, so we do what people want and adding it, which if you don't want to go to options every time for text translation, you can enable "Auto Text Translate" plus other stuff. Big update.
Also, we have a "What'd I Say?" feature that stores what you're said, would you ever wish to use this?
Thanks,
Lance

That would indeed be a nice update. "What'd I say" would also be a wonderful addition if one has installed the app to learn a language. If you design "What'd I say" as a table with columns of input text and output text and a small speaker icon that speaks out the output text, it would be awesome.
Note: Please consider using text as input if you are planning another update. It helps if you do not have a US English accent. Or am I asking for too much?
Thanks.
I appreciate your input, the release for the storage of items spoken is a bit similar to what you've described.
As for input of text, the only reason this may not occur is because too many of these types of App's already exist and trying to stay away from non-verbal input but believe it or not, a lot of people can't spell properly and when they manually input (Especially via Mobile Keyboard), if the word doesn't exist or in our case can't pass 2 "Dictionaries" it will fail and sure enough, you'll be seeing how horrible our App is and "They are lucky we can't give them 0 Stars" which it's not always about the rating but to continue development someone has to use it lol. *I have now wondered off the site and thought about what you've requested and took a look at other 'Translators' and the methods seem all the same which maybe it is something we need to maybe add to make a difference and offer a "Fix What I Said" as a small text-link for a custom Popup to request manual input and force the "Chat" keyboard to allow pre-determined words/instant spell check as maybe not everyone can pronounce specific words.*
The current edition was in fact intended for anyone who spoke "English" only and only because the current Microsoft Speech Server that we have doesn't support other languages, which is why we're building our own "Add-ons" to an already existing technology but the current language is Spanish to hopefully recognize and after that, whatever other languages are requested and if we can find a voice actor that is reasonable, hopefully develop it.
Also, you're never asking too much. If you download ANYTHING of ours, I hope you'd recommend anything you'd want or think you'd like to have added. We're trying to be a little bit different than the others and actually listen to what our End-Users say as we have nothing without the EU's, like you and makes your responses invaluable.
Again, thank you very much for taking the time to respond back, I and the other guys do appreciate it.
Thanks,
Lance

It is always nice to see developers respond readily to user suggestions. It is true that some users misspell words and then curse the app in the review section. The instant spell check/suggest(Google style) would be a nice way to combat this issue. Something like "Did you mean xxxx" after a failed search would also be nice.
It is good to see that you are working on a Spanish input version. I do not know if there is any demand for Hindi(India's national language), but if you ever need voice for it, then contact me.
Thanks.
-Chaitanya
Once again thank you for your input and kind words and the only reason for Spanish input is because in America, the country is being overran with Spanish Speaking immigrants that have no real desire to learn English and if we can't force them or any [non-English speaking] to speak the language of the country, maybe this will help and work with local governments on providing the solution and not have what's current, a problem (This way as they speak we can translate it ourselves as you must assume they won't have the software).
Sounds harsh, sure but the truth hurts and no one else is trying to resolve the issues or help prevent/alleviate them. As for Hindi, off hand I am unsure what our demographics are for this but I know we get more Indian downloaders than Italy, France, and etc...
Either way, thank you very much for the offer and I will pin you to our memo server as a possible voice actor/coach. Also we all agreed we're going to put in the ability to type what you want/fix what was spoken. We'd like to give you a shout out in the about page, what name would you like?
Thanks,
Lance

Speechy 1.2 Update
Look for the new Thread labeled Speechy 1.2 Update.

totally worthless piece of crappy software

I have (tried to) played around a bit with Remixos player on a Galaxy TabPro S and the conclusion is that I have never met a piece of software that was so inmature, useless and annoying. It is just a complete waste of time.
Once you get it started (despite the humorous messages it's not funny) there is no way for me as a german user to control the OS. Touchscreen input for tablets are is messed up by bad programming, no proper screenresolutions available, no fullscreen. Touchscreen input for an Android OS is messed up. I mean just think about that. That alone says it all.
You would think that at least the keyboard support would work. Not at all. I don't know what kind of keyboard it is that is running under the german label, but it is not german. They don't even get the label right: It is named "german qwerty", but it should go "german qwertz"
So entering an email address: not possible. There is no @ on the so called "german" keyboard.
But the ads are working all over the place. Here you see the priorities.
This is not serious software. It's bloatware. It's nothing but waste.
Switch to live usb. It's generally ok.
It's clear the player isn't their prior project nor goal within android machine's market, and it's normal, there are others things to do. I even think it was totally optional for them to do one.
Whatever, even if not their top priority, the updates are regular and the soft will improve. It's principal defaults are material (+ language) compatibilities, and maybe requirements too. Hardware compatibility is something that is totally rectifiable and there is good hope it will follow. This excluded, Remix is among the best actual solutions and will probably keep on doing so.
But as always there are some impatient people to express in unpleasant ways and judge things in a direct or even extreme manner, even for something that is almost (or always, I don't remember, it was one month ago) a beta. So please no need to go in a ruckus or for trash talking here like it's done almost everywhere on the web. Especially with gaming, which scene is total drama nowadays, and which scene touch this soft as well because of it's potential with games ....
A word to the wises ...
you are right, trash talking is not needed. I think it is appropiate in some cases though. Developers are doing this for a reason, there is the intention to make money here. Somehow. They put something out that is not working at all, but wasting my time. That's not all right.
You say it is almost a beta. Well almost, yes, it is alpha or even pre. If they declare it as such, you don't hear a word from me.
This method here, the way they chose to go, is not ok. There is potential yes, it might be fine for some now, for others in a year or so, good. Until then mark it as work in progress and invite beta testers, but don't pretend you have an actual product.

Does not even recognize the Wifi on the Samsung Galaxy Tabpro S
Yeah yeah. Understood ... You are in your right because of commercial and ****s eh ?
To this point even if they of course plan to make money in the end, the soft is FREE, and like said, their commercial stretch goal is their MACHINES so making the OS work well first on em. To be more precise than before, the player here is what we call a loss leader, or event to be considered it a demonstration product, but a good one even with its defaults. Did you pay something for using it or is it free ? Do you make them live another way ? Do you have annoying frequents adds and downloads of unwanted apps like on some competitors ? Nope, they do differently.
Talk trashing isn't something to do, there is plenty of ways to express dissatisfaction or anger isn't it ? Or what are you ? Non human ? A goat ? Nope, it's not appropriate, you have no right, you are taking it. No right especially if you are maybe a player who is angry just because you can't have your decent easy drug game fix.
Respect AND disrespect aren't thing that are owned. They are something that is GAINED. And at the moment even if you may consider there is nothing allowing to give them your respect, there is neither anything to allow you being disrespectful. You are just drowning yourself in your own bull**** coming back and trying to justify yourselves.
As said, gaming scene became trash behavior all the way from down to top the moment it became easy access and global. People now think all is due to them.
I have nothing to do with gaming.
Yes I have paid with my time, wasted because of illusions.
Yes there are annoying frequent ads.
I don't share your opinion about respect and disrespect, in fact I think your are drowning yourself in your own bull**** coming back and trying to justify yourselves.
yea it is not needed here there are numerous of other emulator, bluestack or Andy...
Hey Novalis,
Apologies for the late reply as we've been swamped by our Kickstarter campaign. Also, really sorry to hear of your disappointment with Remix OS Player. I'd like to address the issues I can, and ask you to help us with a couple of the other ones:
1) Unfunny humorous messages - Noted, and I'll share this with the guy who thought it was clever.
2) The only place to tweak resolution is during startup where you click on the "Advanced" button.
3) The latest Remix OS Player has full screen mode.
4) We did not work on touchscreen support since Player was targeted at Intel based PCs whose majority do not have touchscreens.
5) The keyboard support - We did make changes to the way Android Studio laid out keyboards in order to support Keyboard shortcuts (ie. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V). May I work with you to improve this? Also, if there are any keyboard names (as you mentioned "German QWERTZ" we do apologize) we've misnamed, thanks in advance for letting us know.
6) We do have ads in the program. We are a small startup still and we do need to find a way to keep the lights on for free software products like Remix OS Player and Remix OS for PC. This is the priority in play here.
Again, I do apologize for any time you've wasted on Remix OS Player. We do have a new update that also supports OTA now.
Perhaps you can work with me to at least get the keyboard localization issue communicated in detail to our dev team.
Thanks!

1) look, I don't really care, it's just diffcult to find it funny if you are disappointed with the experience. In fact they would be funny if everything else was running smoothly.
2) add the native resolution of the host (you have to pre check that), and then
3) yes support fullscreen, and make sure that the resolution is properly scaled down on high res monitors (e.g. 4K).
4) In my opinion a big mistake. Android is a touch based OS and there a lot of touchscreens out there, more and more coming, and for them Remix is just unusable without touch input. I mean, think,: unusable. And it would be relatively easy to correct the mapping and disband the mouse pointer, ar least in fullscreen mode. Yes the majority out there has no touchscreen, but the majority of those who have want Android.
5) This is easy. Check out google for the german or any other language keyboard layout. Then make sure that your built in keyboards reflect that once you hit the keys. Then do your changes and check whether they interfere with what is expected from this keyboard layout.
Although it is a nice idea to transfer Windows functionallity to RemixOS it should not interfere with Android functionality. Android goes first, that's why people want to have it. Then you can add quality of life Windows features. If they work...
6) I don't mind ads. Unless they are not the only thing working... (for me)
I am sorry but because of the non working I had to uninstall Remix. And I would only reinstall it if I read that touchscreen support works. I would like to help, but without being able to do navigate, it just doesn't make sense.

Your points are taken and I've just shared them with the dev team in charge. I realize that with Remix OS for PC and Remix OS Player, we're never going to be able to satisfy all hardware/usage scenarios. We do need to choose our battles wisely based on the resources we have.
However, also as a startup, each user is vital for us. While still needing to adhere to the 80/20 rule due to our limited resources, I'll do the best I can to push our devs to work on 1) keyboard config support, and 2) touchscreen Intel devices.
Thanks again for your feedback and time.

Hi.
Just to know.
I read about adds in Remix Os (player, in my case), here, and else. But well I can't see any or I'm totally blind. The only "adds" I saw were at first startup, giving the possibility to download some apps, and I can't really consider this like pub.
I'm not complaining about not having adds, sure ^^ but where are they ? Normal ? Not even automatic propositions or even downloads like with Andy. If you needs publicity to live on, better it to be working
Putting out a free software download does have it's pros and cons. On one hand, it's much easier to build up a user base, to get higher volumes of feedback and to build off of that feedback. However, to maintain the team that works on said software is a challenge. We did place ads in the apps drawer and have aimed to be unobtrusive with the ads as well as tailoring them to be relevant to the user. However, we did receive some backlash from users who may not understand the need for ads on free software. Thus, we have continued to dial back the way the ads are shown so that our users don't feel annoyed with them. That's probably why you don't see it as very intrusive anymore. Thanks again for your comments and interest!

Yes, know that.
And I finally saw the tab after posting and looking again ... Recommendations. But yeah, it's faaaaar than invasive. Or even absolutely invisible and can be ignored. Can't consider that personally as publicity. For me and add is a commercial, it's bling bling or even noisy, so much you can't miss it, or are forced to it.
Ads play a big role in android,so no surprise here.
