Hi, after I installed a custom rom in my Incredible S , I was getting stucked at the boot screen. Then I followed this site instructions.
myhtcdesire.com/modding/how-to-install-a-custom-rom-on-your-htc-desire
But after applied the wipe data/factory reset, I think I just locked my 'factory unlocked' phone WTF?
'Cause now, I have (No service) at the bottom. I can't sms... nothing.
Does "wiping data/factory reset" locked my sim card?
Please help me, I'm freaking out right now
Problem resolved
forgot to put the back cover -_-'
LOL that's funny, but people do forget that the back is used for our antenna .

Yeah true. It has something to do with the gold connectors at the bottom and beside the camera.

it is funny, I was trying to cut the SIM card to Micro SIM card to play with iPhone using my SIM card. After I put back the cut SIM card to an adapter back to the SIM slot, put back battery (without putting back the back cover because I didn't want to close it too often to possibly damage the back up cover), it kept getting no service warnings... After half hour struggling to play with the SIM card out of frustration, I decided to go to a Bell store to get a new SIM card, so I closed the back cover, and immediately, the signal and service is back.

Just got a new phone, going to use Sgs as dev/ backup phone

Update.
Spoke to THREE (UK) they said that once a SIM card has been used in the SGS3, It can't be used in another phone! Guess the SGS1 will have to go :-(

Can you please help me by looking at your sim card tray - photo attached
Hi Folks, i think my Sim card tray is broken, can someone please have a look at their own and tell me if I am missing a pin (I have 'tried' to upload a photo, but it looks like a pin may be missing from behind the 3rd sim tray hole).

Im still having issues with my galaxy note.
Still not detecting sim card.
Ive checked sim in another phone it works. Its in this one
Ive checked serial and imei they are ok so efs seems to be ok when ask phone to select a network manually they are detected but I cant join them
Phone is unlocked (verified) to any network
Ive reflashed cm10.1 latest Rom via cmupdates followed by clearing cache and dalvik then also tried with the factory wipe in recoverymode.
Everything else is working fine.
Im due to replace the sim holder on Saturday as this seems to be another common issue.
Can anyone think of any other causes?

took it to the shop turns out the seller used a microsim adapter which flattened all the pins in the slot as they are thicker. He also snapped one on removal.
That shop quoted a ton to fix as meant de soldering the slot which is tricky and risky. Basically said he wouldn't touch it.
The second shop said they couldn't fix it but could send it away for 30 quid but would be gone for 4 days max. Showed me fixed units with paperwork that were working as proof it wasn't dodgy
Just glad it's now sorted. Contacted seller on ebay with details, he put hands up to having opened the phone up and using an adapter but didn't realise he'd snapped the pin hes also offered to pay for the repairs, hes actually a nice bloke.
Thanks for help all.

Guys I dropped my phone in water and after 5 days of rice sitting , everything is working except one thing
Phone not detecting SIM card anymore (NO Sim card ) although when i remove the tray it says Sim card remove , i tried 2 SIMs no luck , it was working fine before the water drop , any help ?
NB: Factory Reset + cache wipe , did not help
Water is still there, phone will start dying sooner or later. Should be disassembled and proper maintenance should be done.

I suggest trying another sim. If the second sim doesn't work, contact the seller. It's possible the phone has a hardware problem.

I've never heard of this being related to software. I have run stock and custom rom on my phone and the sim has always been recognized.
Perhaps you could contact the seller and ask about the problem you are having.
I just ran into this problem and have tried every rom , flashing back to stock , new sim from att and just figured out how to flash the modem (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233871) none of it has worked for me . I cant get the radio to even turn on it is really weird . At&t is sending me a new phone . I have spent 3 days non stop trying to get it too work and have no idea what it is but I know for sure that the radio will not turn on .
its not a software issue...its mechanical.
i fix it opening the phone and removing the spring the make the micro sim card spring back when you push it.
after this the sim card it will not make contact with pads so you have to put something on top (like a little piece of cardboard) to touch and make good contact with pads, before you close the phone...
its a cheap solution if you do not want to replace spring professionally that would be expensive unless under warranty.
I tough i was the only one may be i was to rough with mine but now i see is a very bad design from Motorola.......

Mine see's the sim card and even synces with it but the radio will not turn on , its pretty weird and im a noob who flashed everything you can flash so who knows what did it . I was sure that using rsd and going back to stock would fix it but it didn't . At least my warrenty should still work . I will find out soon enough .
Hey XDA, I was wondering if any of you guys still experience the problem where the sim does not come in contact with the pins inside the phone. I have tried the tape fix a few times with a few different sims (that all work on my s4) but no good. I was wondering if anyone has any good fixes before I have to send it out to HTC. Also, if anyone has sent their phone to HTC, how much does it cost? Thanks

I had this problem on my HTC One, the sim usually worked but sometimes the phone said "no sim card inserted", suggesting there wasn't a proper contact between the phone and sim. I tried the tape method too but it didn't work. Eventually I sent the phone back to the retailer I purchased it from and I received a replacement, as it was under warranty and was not accidentally damaged.
HTC shouldn't charge for this if the phone is undamaged, they usually provide a 1 year warranty. They should either repair the phone or give you a replacement. Try calling them and see what they say.

Yeah i just called htc. I wanted to know how much they charge for the repair (im not under warranty anymore).
Does anyone know any possible fixes that work that doesn't require me to send it back to HTC or my carrier? Would buying a new sim tray, switching to a nano sim and using a nano to micro adapter, updating software, etc? Still stuck on this. Any help would be appreciated.

I was getting the no SIM error intermittently. I tried the "add tape to SIM" method, which seemed to work for a while. I think I added three layers of tape over time, but the error kept coming back.
I understand that you've tried other SIM cards that you have available, but in my case, getting a new SIM card fixed the problem. I have not seen the error since I replaced it about three weeks ago. :good:
