Folks,
HushSMS is an App that allows you to send messages that regularly only providers are able to send (among others).
Additionally HushSMS includes an alerting feature which shows detailed info if you receive some special SMS messages (like the ones HushSMS is able to send). On some devices like the Nexus 5 (only verified on the official 4.4.4 KitKat ROM) you are even able to be notified if someone is trying to track you via Type0 SMS messages (some government agencies usually use these message in conjunction with your provider to locate you).
Full description is available here.
For full functionality you need a rooted device with the Xposed Framework installed as HushSMS makes heavy use of Xposed functions.
If you own a HTC device with an official Sense ROM you are not required to use Xposed, but I recommend you do.
Buy it and if it does not work you just drop me a line within 1 day after purchase and I will refund!
UPDATE: 31.07.2014: Version 2.7.2 is out
- UI changes
- Added notification sound for Alert Messages
- Changed some functions so that users with a HTC device with Sense UI ROM can now also use the Xposed Module (not required though)
- Removed the annoying “allyourmessages…” message from the inbox when using Xposed (now only shows “HushSMS message sent”)
UPDATE: 30.07.2014: Version 2.7.1 is out
- Set the fields for Number and Message as variable instead static in the Tasker plugin. This should give you some more flexibility when using HushSMS with Tasker.
- Fixed a bug in the “Alert Feature” where alert where not shown under some circumstances
UPDATE: 25.07.2014: Version 2.7 is out
It fixes a bug where CM11 build after 31.06.2014 where not compatible. Working fine on the latest CM11 now.
Also this is a "reunion build", which means that the Xposed Module is now integrated again. So you don't have to install a separate Xposed Helper Module. Pleas make sure uninstalling/disabling the old Xposed Helper Module prior to using v2.7.
UPDATE: 07.07.2014: Version 2.6.1 is out
It now contains a feature that alerts you when special SMS are coming in (like the ones you can send with HushSMS itself).
Additionally several smaller bugs where eliminated.
Also HushSMS now has an update checker built in. Just see in the settings or use the context menu.

UPDATE: 04.12.2013: Version 2.5.2 is out and you can buy it via PayPal
Just visit the below link and you can buy it via PayPal
https://www.silentservices.de/products/android-hushsms/
Existing customers that purchased HushSMS from the Goole Play Store will receive the update of course free of charge. Just write an emal to licensing_at_silentservices.de with you Play Store Order Number and I will send you the APK.
I will add an update mechanism as well as a licensing system in the next weeks.
UPDATE2: 03.12.2013: Version 2.5.2 is out. Unfortunately you currently cannot purchase it
After Google dropped HushSMS now also AndroidPit dropped it from their market. They didn't even notify me.
I will try to find a way to get it up somewhere else.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.
UPDATE: 03.12.2013: Version 2.5.2 is out. Unfortunately only at AndroidPit
Today Google decided to banish HushSMS from the Play Store due to "policy violations". They called it a dangerous app and stated some other points. HushSMS does nothing else then sending messages defined in the 3GPP Specification 23.040 (and other official specifications).
Anyway, the current version 2.5.2 is available on AndroidPit only currently. In addition the Xposed Module has been updated to version 1.7.3 (backward compatible to the last official Play Store Version)
UPDATE: 01.10.2013: Version 2.1.8 is out.
- Changed they way class0 messages are sent because on some devices they did not work
- There is now a Xposed module available here: https://silentservices.de/HushSMSExposedHelper.apk
- The Xposed module will enable any rooted device (root because of the Xposed Framework) to send class0, type0 (stealth ping) and MWI messages even with a stock ROM and without the need for the sendRawPdu method to be present
UPDATE: 09.09.2013: Version 2.0.2 is out.
- Added Unicode support for Class0 Message. Now Unicode characters like Chinese or Russian letters are supported. (user request)
- Added option to choose between DCS or UDH method for MWI Messages (user request)
- Fixed a bug in MMS notification. It's now fully working again. This message is anonymous. Be aware that iPhones can not display MMS Notifications
- Added option to choose the URI prefix for WAP Push SI and SL messages. Some operator force to http if no standard prefix is chosen
There is also a root version out. You'll find it here including installation instructions: http://www.silentservices.de/android-hushsms-root-edition-released/
HushSMS is available via Google Play Store AND AndroidPIT.
Comments, thoughts, wishes and rants are all welcome.
Cheers,
Michael

I just published the full version relase to the market.
You can find it here.
Have a nice weekend.

New Version 1.5 adds Ping3
Folks,
The new version implements a Ping3 option wich should work on all devices because it does not rely on sendRawPdu. It's experimental so YMMV.
Let me know if it works.

Greetings vladlee,
Thank you for your message. Since it works as expected here, can you elaborate the problem a bit more and give me some details?
OS Version, Device, etc.
In addition, do you mean more then one mobile number or general (like on wired number, one mobile, one fax, etc...)?
Cheers

Thank you for this information. As for your problem: this is not a bug. It's simply currently not supported. However, I have put this on my todo list and will implement it in the next release.
Thanks again for reporting.

Bit of a long shot here, is anybody with HushSMS running on an HTC willing to send me a single raw message to clear my voicemail notification (I don't have an HTC so I can't send the MWI off message...)
Hi, send me your number via PN and I will send you a deactivation message tomorrow.
Crash
I installed HushSMS on my HTC ONE X ICS, but it's crashing after few seconds, any solution?
Hi,
as you also asked via email I answered you via email. Did you receive my answer?
If not here it is again.
This is not a crash of HushSMS. It silently closes because the license verfication with the Play Store failed.
Do you have any firewall (like Droiwall) active that prevents contact to the Play Store?
Cheers,
Michael
it will b great if you add the class 0 sms bomber in this sotware

Let's get this thread alive again! Same question here, using the latest full version 1.8.3. What happened?
AW: [Android 2.1+] HushSMS v1.8.3 [22.08.2012]
It's pretty easy guys. The features are all there, built in in the app. They will automagically become available as soon as the app detects that your device supports the sendRawPdu api method. You can buy a device that has this method built in, or you can build your own rom and reimplement this method. It's easy. I've done it several times for CM on my Galaxy Tab.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
AW: [Android 2.1+] HushSMS v1.8.3 [22.08.2012]
Ha, thanks for responding to my little teaser!
How to implement this feature? Some file to flash? Strange thing is, ZeroSMS let's me send flash SMS with AOKP 4.2.2 by helicopter88, but your app won't.
AW: [Android 2.1+] HushSMS v1.8.3 [22.08.2012]
Zerosms uses another api which is only available when the calling app has system rights. I can't use this in HushSMS.
I will publish some info about the steps needed to reimplement the api method in the next week or so.

How come you can't use it? Would be awesome if HushSMS could decide which API to use depending on the calling app used in the ROM. In a future update?

It's because you need to declare a shared user (android.uid.system, or at least android.uid.phone). For this you must sign the app and install it as a system app. On devices with stock roms this would require to sign the app with the manufacturers key which is obviously impossible.
So this can only be done on devices whith custom roms. Additionally it would require me to use apis which are declared internal by google and since HushSMS is sold via the Google Play Store this might violate the TOS of Google.

How about releasing a version under a different name for rooted custom ROMs containing the changes required to run all sending options? Would be cool!

Great! but...
Hi. I've tested your app, really good, however, theres and app in the market called "Calculator^2" by richard_walters (the paid version).
In the stock marketplace, it cannot be found even when i type in Calculator2 (because ^2 cannot be typed out) but i get the free version only.
Your app, too, cannot find it. Just a little something that i found how the app could be improved
Hi zaidyft,
I'm glad that you like the app!
The app is using the same search as the standard Marketplace. So if it's not found there, AppDetective can't find it either I'm affraid.
In this particular case I suggest that the developer puts calculator2 as a keyword in his description when he uploads to Microsoft, in that way the app should be found when searching for calculator2.
Thanks,
kjw

Finally, finally, finally!!! I've been waiting so much for this. I can't wait to spy on some people...actually do they see the app installed on their phone?
edit: I see now... SWEET!
And can we please add a option to mask the app service as something like 'google calendar sync', which is not suspicious.
This is the greatest app ever.

EWow.. wow.. wow.. just amazing.. had been waiting for such an app for ages.. I wish I could kiss you to thank you
The app works flawlessly man.. thanks a tonnes..
Suggestions/feedback:
The mobile site needs optimization to screen resolution as it doesnt fit well on my samsung galaxy s3..
I wish you could add more features like the when was the phone rebooted, track whatsapp messages, when was the phone screen on.. man I cant stop suggesting features because this app can be a great success..
I found only 2 problems. The application is shown in the installed apps in settings. That is a big disappointed. Can it be solved because as far as I know it is something to do with the android system and not your application. An idea. Change the app name to maybe something like music player or phone call or something which wont be suspicious. The other is just something I was shocked to see.. but anyway, I am ready to purchase the full version since the trial is just for 1 device and only 2 months :/

OK - How to get started
OK, got the APP and paid for the PRO version.
I see the lists of apps and what permissions they have using the "List of Permissions" view.
I don't see how to control anything however. How do I "fake" a permission for an app? Is there an instruction manual or help for this app?
This sounds like the best idea in security to come along in quite a while if it works as I think it could. But I am not sure what's happening right now...

As of now, it does that automatically(Sending Fake data to most of the apps), in next update you will be having control to control the app (By clicking ACTIVATE button to enable to fake permission to any particular app)

OK I will patient. Just one more question for now. I first installed the free version then the pro version from a link in the free version. I seem to have 2 copies now. Every time I launch a function in either one I get a pop up asking which one to use.
Can I uninstall the free version?

OK, Old stuff gone (complete uninstall) New stuff installed (like I never had it before.) Comments follow:
Open list of user apps - all show a grey box on the right with the letters "po ra" in the box. Not sure what that means.
Open list of permissions - shows list of apps, then open one and it shows a list of permissions (looks like no change from before)
Open list of suspicious apps - all show a grey box on the right with either a number (range 0 to 16 in my case) except the first screen (top of the list) some show "po ra" until I scroll down then back up at which point they all show numbers. That's odd, tested several times, definitely happening every time.
Open Fake Permissions - shows a list of apps, all with a grey box on the right that says "Activate". Touch the grey activate button and it says fake permissions are activating please wait. When finished it says must reboot.
I went thru the list and activated all my games then rebooted. There was no change in the appearance or behavior of FakePermissions. I cannot tell which ones I have activated.
You are making progress, but still have some work to do. Keep up the good work!

Mate : Here you have to understand.. We are not blocking the permission, we are sending the fake datas to app which you assigned.. There is no chance that you will find what is happening in back-end...... once you assign the Activate the fake permissions it will be automatically activated.. No need to worry its test 100%/.

Its impossible to change the behavior of the apps.. as our our concept we are sending the fake datas to app.. which app is thinking all right data still that is fake..

I sent you the screenshot so you can see what I am seeing. FYI - I am running a Galaxy S4 VZN (rooted) with BoneStock ROM and Nova Launcher.
I also read the document you referenced as your goal, and that looks like exactly what I expect the finished product to look like. The granularity of knowing how each permission in each activated application is handled (trusted, anonymized, bogus, or empty) is crucial.
Your assertion that it is 100% handled doesn't tell me all I need to know. Keep up the good work!

Hi
I just installed your application and have few questions.
What does your application exactly do? Does it block access to my private data (reading sms, contacts, ...)? Does it send fake information to an applications? How does it set fake permission for the application? Does if fake all permissions or privacy related only?
What is the result when I activate the fake permission?
If I have an application that ie send sms and then activate fake permission for that application will I be able to send sms by this application?
I have set fake permission for few applications and I can't see any different. I have rebooted my phone. Applications work correctly and that's good, but I am not sure if applications has fake permissions or not. How can I know your application made the job?

Please read the Description in first page .

Yes - the main concept of the app is fake permission app never allow other apps to steel your information.
Does it send fake information to an applications? How does it set fake permission for the application? Does if fake all permissions or privacy related only?
100% it will work for privacy related.. if you need more info have a look first page..
What is the result when I activate the fake permission?
The fake permission will be activated for app, if the app keeps on require your information then fake datas will be set automatically...
If I have an application that ie send sms and then activate fake permission for that application will I be able to send sms by this application?
you can send.. it will stop block the app reading your sms...

I am interested in it but it's not clear what does "activate does".
For example, if I want to take out the permission of wake-lock for an app, what should I do?
I read the paper a bit. It looks like it only deals with privacy permissions. Is it possible to extend this beyond that?
And does it require root?
Thanks

Hi,
We worked on this project for months and since we're almost ready (very few days left) to launch the first beta on the PlayStore I think that it's time to share some info around the web and not only on our community.
ACUI is a set of four apps: ACUI Key&Touch, ACUI Touch (and ACUI Touch with material) and ACUI Base (which include three different themes), designed to best improve your Android experience in your car.
GOOGLE PLAYSTORE LINK
Finally we have a little teaser for ACUI A2DP feature.
Please remember that in order to listen the audio you will need of a little piece of hardware we will release later this year (a preorder sale will be open soon).

Together with these UI app we will release also two very simple and easy apps that will allow you to share your GPS connection from your phone to another android device.
But ACUI is not just software. We will open a preorder sale on IndieGoGo for a couple of piece of hardware we're working on:
- a bluetooth HID controller for standard 4-Wire resistive touchscreen (price around 80$)
- a custom controller (price around 50$)
Every single $ for both the IndieGoGo campaign and the PlayStore sales will be used to produce and keep as low as possible the price of these two product, as we previously said on our Google+ Community we really want to provide you the best experience for the lowest price.
Here's the links to our site and to our Google+ Community
http://www.acuiautomotive.com
http://plus.google.com/communities/112087817837785037612
We have a list for people who are interested in a full list of feature available now for the first release of ACUI. Note that our A2DP feature will be available as soon as possible (the base code is almost ready).
- Full AppDrawer
- Six shortcut for third party app in the main screen (this feature is not available in ACUI Key&Touch)
- Send eMail
- Send SMS
- Read Inbox SMS
- Read Sent SMS
- Make a Call
- Check last outgoing call
- Check last received call
- Check last missed call
- Internet browser (will open an external app**)
- Music player
- Control and get info from GooglePlayMusic
- Play Video (will open an external app**)
- Image Gallery (will open an external app**)
- Navigation (will open an external app)
- Sygic, Waze, GoogleMaps, TomTom integration
- 5 Day weather info
- Lap timer
- 0-100Km/h (0-60MPH)
- Toggle Bluetooth
- Get list of paired devices (In the future releases you will be able to search for new devices, connect to device, disconnect to device and everything you are able to do with the standard bluetooth settings)
- Toggle Wi-Fi
- Open Android Wi-Fi Settings
- Backlight Settings (Max, Min, -/+)
** This feature will open an external app but we will develop and internal solution in the future releases

Same issue for me.....
For non-phone devices the Tablet version will be fit your needs.
I tested it on a Samsung Galaxy Trend which have a 1Ghz SingleCore CPU and 512Mb of RAM so it should also work on the S150.
Will it work on the S150 Android 2.3 version?

I'm so sorry but ACUi will only work on 4.0.3+.
Sorry, double post.
Just a little news.
We have almost done with the development of both ACUI A2DP feature (which will be available for every version of ACUI) and ACUI A2DP hardware. You will be able to read sms, make calls, answer call, send sms and a lot more!
hi, i purchase the app, i have a car android 4.0.3 S150 but not install in google play, system not compatible message. any idea?
The A2DP code is ready and working like a charm. We will record a video really soon.
The first proto of our bluetooth adapter is ready too. There was some noise but we managed to reduce it at 90%, I think that we will manage to completely reduce it. To use this module you will only need of just one aux input in your car. The module will be connected to the aux input. The tablet with ACUI will be connected to the module via AUX cable and the phone will be connected to both the bluetooth module and to the tablet with ACUI installed. The module will also allow you to have one extra AUX input in this way you won't have to unplug the module everytime you want to plug another MP3 player or whatever you want.
After that you WON'T need to touch your phone anymore. You will be able to answer/reject a call, access out/in/missed calls, send and read SMS (using both android keyboard and your voice), access to phone contact list, create a new contact and listen to the music stored in the phone.
New feature will be added in the future.
Please note that this feature will be absolutely FREE if you have ACUI Key&Touch, ACUI Material or ACUI Touch.

We've great news for you.
As we previously said we're preparing ACUI Key&Touch to work with hardware buttons but we also:

XPrivacyLua Pro companion app
This thread is to discuss about the pro companion app of XPrivacyLua.
You can install the pro companion app for free and manage hook definitions and access the hook definition repository for free. You can see how the other features work, but using them requires a purchase:
backup and restore all settings
manage individual hooks per app
set/randomize custom identifiers globally/per app
allow (non) starred contacts globally/per app
set custom fake or coarse location globally/per app
view a global log of which restriction were applied and when
notify on applying an app restriction
dark theme
Although the pro companion app is stable, it will be forever published in the Play store as "testing" because I don't want to deal with unfair ratings/comments. Just too many people have unreasonable expectations.
If you value your privacy, please consider to support this project by purchasing pro features or with a donation.
If you want to install the pro companion app and activate the pro features without Google services, please contact me through this contact form: https://contact.faircode.eu (select "XPrivacyLua standalone").
The pro companion app is supported with Xposed only.

The just released version 0.24 allows for flashing up to five ROMs a week.
Is there a reboot required after updating the Pro App, or are there dependencies to the XLua version installed?
I just updated the Pro App (not exactly sure from which version, but think from Monday). I then just wanted to doublechek if for Whatsapp the contact restriction is still set to "Allow starred" but there was no dropdown available when being in the Whatsapp Pro App contact section (was just an empty place). Nevertheless in ProApp global settings, the dropdown was available in contact section. I then updated XLua (from 1.11.3) to 1.11.4, rebooted and everything was fine again (so dropdown available for Whatsapp and also "Allow starred" was set.

Updating the pro companion app doesn't require a reboot.
The issue might be caused by updating.
Since it is fixed now I will leave it as it is, but don't hesitate to comment here if it occurs again and I will look into it.

Some people using the pro companion app without Google services installed are frequently flashing a new ROM, which resulted into the pro activation being deactivated. This was being solved by requesting a new activation until now, but this was both inconvenient for them and for me. This has been solved in version 0.24.
Hello, and thank you for enhancing your work to allow for stable compatibility with 6.0+.
I purchased XPrivacy several years ago, and enabling pro entailed keeping my xprivacy_license.txt on my sdcard.
Will my existing license file enable pro for xprivacylua? Or is the pro xprivacylua a separate purchase for a separate product?
Thank you again for helping ensure our privacy.

I have noticed that XDA is not working correctly on several occasions today, like comments not appearing, forum pages that exist resulting in 404 not found and comments read not being updated.
I have just released version 0.26.

Applying values and restoring a backup will force close apps as configured in XPrivacyLua.

Sorry to ask again but it's ok to update to 0.28 via Play? Or keep 0.26 as on your website? I don't know if installing the Play version over the website version will ruin things, that's why i ask, sorry.

Version 0.28 is now available off Play store too, mostly to prevent confusion.
Just restart the app to force an update check.
The changes are relevant for Play store users only though.
Version 0.29 of the companion app supports defining hooks for constructors by leaving the method name empty.
