Thank you very much for your divine support and suggestion but am not planning to sell it.
I am asking on how to maximize my tab not to gain profit from it. Softwares and application to use since I am already rooted and using overcome rom.

Play with your tab.
Install games and apps.
Lots of stuff to do with your tab.
You can use it for:
i. Playing games
Try Fruit Ninja, it's the only games I have on my tab right now
ii. Entertainment
Try PowerAmp + MusicMatch, you can ideally have the tab play music with lyris displayed.
I don't use it for playing mkv files coz the screen is small, maybe after I get my TV-OUT adapter. Use youtube couple times with it though
iii. Information
Try Pulse News Reader + Boat Browser (It's what I use for the time being)
iv. Social
Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger, Tapatalk for forum, etc..
v. Office Work
Gmail, Ymail, I use connectbot + hacker's keyboard for server maintenance
vi. Etc2..
Lot's of interesting app in the market. Check the market. Have u try ZenBrush ??
Regards,
Jhon
PS: Hope it leads to u to the right direction

yeah, sorry. Just joking.
I agree with wuf31.
Played Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds.
Use Pulse News for RSS based news, and also BeyondPod to get my favourite podcast.
I also use BS Player to play my video over SMB share. You will find it working very well, no stuttering whatsoever. My video files sit in my linux file share running samba.
Use PocketCould to RDP or VNC to your desktops.
Overcome kernel even support OpenVPN, if you need VPN.

Thank you for the recommendation. Will check BS Player and BeyondPod.
Btw, quick question, do I need to install anything on the Windows side to use RDP or VNC?

PocketCould is just a normal RDP/VNC client.
As long as you can RDP using desktop to your windows, you should be able to use PocketCould.
Same as VNC.
The free version can only have 1 connection profile.
The free one also can't have zoom in and out by pinch.
bear in mind that PocketClould claims they don't support linux as host OS, so your milage may vary. I bought my Pro version and found that out (that it doesn't support x11vnc properly). Strangely few weeks back it started to work properly now. Vaguely remember there was an update from market. Maybe they fix it.
Give the free one a go. I was using it for months before I bought the pro one.
BTW, it also offer to let you use google account to ease connecting to hosts, but I didn't bother to try out.
I just key in IP, username/password as usual.

You can always update to CM9 & try the ICS experience, but it's still in development so not all features are available. Just a bit of fun for you to try if you're up for it. I had a bit of fun experimenting, but I'm not liking the fact that the theme engine isn't fully developed yet, so I think I'll be restoring back to the BOCA client.

Just to share my experience since I started rooting it a month ago
from GB 2.3.3, I flashed to Overcome, then MIUI..didnt like it (lots of issues), back to Overcome, then AOKP ICS rom, now a moment ago just back Overcome
I'll wait for a better looks and fix on AOKP then I will be back to it again. Overcome is stable and since I want to have some themes and tweak on the looks a bit, I installed Go Launcher EX, go locker etc....surf for some wallpapers to have some nice views
For now better just go for themes etc with the current rom or you may limit the installation of apps u wanna use for a long time....try out several roms to see which one u like...
PS-I wonder what's the future for our galaxy tab....esp in terms of a fully working rom..

Thanks for sharing. Im still using overcome since most of the people i asked said its one of the stable custom roms. For the adventurous a like ics for our tab is already out but am still reading on it and dont have the courage to flash my tab again hehehe

Overcome is the most stable ROM for the Tab. BOCA is pretty stable too. I haven't had any issues with MIUI, but I don't like having pages of apps with no app drawer. I do like my widgets & folders, so I will be flashing again sometime this weekend or next week...just not sure what ROM I'm going to use at this point.
With all the flashing & re-flashing I've done on my phone, I've gained some confidence in the whole process and I'm looking forward to applying onto my tab some of the new things I've learned. Modding is quite addicting...lol...I feel the same way I did when I first learned about overclocking & modding computers. Now I'm searching and reading through dev guides and tutorials to learn about ROM & app dev for androids. Mostly going to be learning for the devices I have now, like my Galaxy tab & MT4G. =)
BTW, out of curiosity, which size tab do you have? 7" or 10.1"
I got the 7" when the Galaxy tab first came on the market & T-Mobile had it for $599. Of course, I got some good deals signing up for a 2-year contract, but still paid a pretty penny for 2 phones & the tab. It would've been nice if I didn't lose my Vibrant (free phone, not eligible for insurance =\ ), then I could've had something else to experiment on...lol
Anyway, I'll post back once I get the chance to experiment on the tab more.

Using galaxy tab 7 first generation the model is p1000 though am now itching to try the newer model p6200 but performance wise i think it not really wise to upgrade yet but if ever you want to try it better to go for samsung note

Try using V6 Supercharge and install Beats Audio
If fun means more technical enhancements try these.
V6 Supercharger from Zeppelinrox. Its a script not a zip. Lots of info on the main site but just
1) down load the pdf script all the way at the botton of the page.
2) install busybox open busybox and install the latest version of busybox
3) install ScriptManager
4) run the DPF as root and read all the info in the console as the script runs

Then Tasker app to automate almost any thing on android rooted phones.
If this helps click a the Thank you button if I have one.
Enjoy.

Most imp tablet specific app needed?

Hi guys,
I really want to love the Xoom, I like android a lot and the hardware is too good (at least at this point)
But I not in place where I can drop my iPad for good. The reasons are pure app specific, if I get these decent on Xoom... it's bye bye iPad.
So this is a quasi-'need help' thread. to double check if I'm not missing anything
1. Magazine app - Something like Zinio, I depend too much on it and couldn't find even an ETA on when Zinio will be available for Android
~ Solved. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11939617&postcount=5
2. Comics reader - I know we have the Comics app but I need a cbr/cbz reader. I tired AVC but doesn't seam to work on Honeycomb
~ Solved. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11939617&postcount=6
3. A UI-nice IM app. I love the Gtalk app but need facebook and skype IM app
4. Netflix app.
5. Tablet specific twitter, facebook, foursquare apps. I know iPad doesn't have FB or FS apps but this would be nice
6. Now the big big deal... I consider all these tablets as a 'consumption' devices, and the biggest thing I 'consume' is movies and tv shows...
The best thing about iPad is, I just launch iTunes app then rent a movie, wait for sometime and then enjoy the movie...
Is there a way I can get this experience on a Xoom? I know that right now most of the HD formats play on tegra but is there any hope to get this?
~~~~~~~~~~
Disclaimer: Please don't pounce on this post and call me a iFreak. I'm not trying to diss the Xoom or Android. I did search and try apps to see if I could get all this... but couldn't find a way. So before I make a decision I just wanted some opinions.
thanks
Don't forget the completely absent Google Docs app! Someone please tell me its in the works....
If you download Spare parts and unselect Compatibility mode AVC works great. i have been using it for days now with no FC.
A Market app that works...
Searches properly so you can find those Apps you want that may exist but you would never know.
Recognizes applications that have updates properly.
Doesn't randomly open other app's.
Actually installs Apps the first time you ask for them.
And why Google is at it, Tablet Section - more direct support on the Web Market while the programmer who is assigned to the tablet market app figures out how to code - bug fix.
(yes I am frustrated with the market today)
I don't remember if manga watcher loads cbz and crz files but in general it is really good app. It was recently updated to load local files from sd so it might be worth checking out. I know the dev does alot of work and updates it frequently. You might even write him and ask if he plans to add support for these files if they aren't already supported. I bought the full app and have been happy with it ever since.
All I have to say is Samurai Executioner.
Quick office
Has any one bought quickoffice pro for smartphones or HD? if yes, what rom are you using and how is it?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
someone asked this same question just recently and all I can tell you is that I have Quick Office on my nook (not pro, it's an older version no longer (or never was) on the market i got a year and a half ago, by the same company) and it works great. I assume pro is just the upgraded version of it, although I can't confirm for sure....it looks almost exactly alike. Also, I use it more to create new documents and not import ones from a computer. I've heard not all formats work on it.
Try rebooting yet? I never got anything to show on Extras without a reboot (after installing apk).
I tried that a few times no luck
I do see it under SU- manage apps it is there!
I'm able to launch it thru task killer, but would like an icon on extras!
I bought the app from the Marketplace.
I bought it for my DroidX and it just works on the NookColor.
I used Titanium Backup to freeze the stock/limited version that comes on the Nook.
hmm did not know titanium was able to freeze an app, I simply use task killer to terminate the read only version and then run full version... Guess I'll just have to use a launcher to get things going.
I actually bought the latest HD version directly from the developer/publisher yesterday (with a promotion it's only $9.99), but it won't install on the NC, presumably because it's built explicitly for 3.0 and I'm on 2.3 (CM7). I saw that there's an APK floating around out there, but given that they're offering a pretty solid office suite for $10, I prefer to give the developer their due. Having said that, if I can't get it to work on my device... Does anyone know if it's possible to get the latest commercial version for tablets to work on NC with CM7?
I'm using the pro version. I can confirm it works perfectly on CM7. The Google docs integration is great. I use mostly spreadsheets and pdf and it's great - I recommend it.
I'm playing around with the HD APK. Having trouble selecting text in word processing documents, though. I can only seem to drag the little pins about 10% of the time.
[Q] New to the Forum, Touchpad in mail!
Hey guys,
I just ordered my Touchpad today, should be here by the end of the week. It is used and the previous owner had ICS running on it I believe. My question is, what would you guys suggest I do once I receive it? Upgrade to JB? Any certain mods or kernels that everyone uses now? Just trying to familiarize myself with the Touchpad forums so I can get right on what I need to do once it comes in.
There are multiple roms for hp touchpad users and each have there own weaknesses and strengths
The best way to familiarize yourself with rom types is to download the free app goomanager in the play store.
It will help you get the roms
In my perspective i beleive that the rom in the attachments is the best
It has no visible bugs and works smoothly on Hp touchpad
Mic works
Camera works- 1.3M
Cm 10 is new and beta so i would not recommend it
Try the one that is recommended in text file
Happy Flashing
Westlaw (Next, not classic) has a meh app (basically a glorified mobile web app), but text is much easier to read on a bigger screen. LexisNexis doesn't have one as far as I know. Google Drive is good for documents.
I don't agree that CM10 is not ready as a daily driver. I use it as one and have since the latest preview came out. That's something you will probably need to try for yourself.
I've never run Ubuntu on any hardware (Arch) and I use only CM10 on my TP, so I can't really speak to that. Maybe someone else here who is running Ubuntu on the TP can help you out. I would imagine that the software repositories in Ubuntu could be helpful, like LibreOffice or a LaTeX editor, but I'm not sure how that would work out on a touchscreen.
New Nexus 7 - Help me unleash the power
Hi Guys
Completely new to the forum and registered 5 min ago. I'm a proud owner of a Nexus 7 but coming from Apple I'm not sure where to go next.
I'm sure many people have asked these questions in the past and yes I have looked through the forums as well as good old fashion Google but not seen a one stop shop.
Please could someone take the time and help me with the below?
1. What are the best apps to use? What are the apps everyone is using?
2. What is the best things for Themes? I've heard of Novo and Apex but which one is the best? As a point of knowledge I'm looking for a minimalistic theme.
3. Is it really worth putting a new Rom on? Bootloader? Sorry all very new to me this stuff.
4. What do people use they Nexus for on an average day?
5. I want an app that I can draw add notes in but it is seamless with the PC so I can then transfer it to that and work on it in windows (works pc) possibly something like One Note but not One Note.
6. Where do people get the Nexus fix from? What is your source of information (apart from this wonderful website which I can believe Ive never registered on before)
7. Best Android browser (flash)
Appreciate it is allot of questions guys but I've posted on other forums to have no responses so Im really hoping the community will help me here.
Once again sorry for being a pain and hop this is in the correct section.
Thanks in advance
James
You don't need to do any of that. Just enjoy your tablet.
The stock ROM is great, the stock launcher is great. Look for the best reviews in the store.
I would start with ShadowGun Deadzone to see how great multiplayer gaming is on the N7.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.madfingergames.deadzone
After that, take a look at the editor picks on the play store.
There are also some offers on at the moment:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_2013_play_birthday?feature=banner
(Need For Speed, Plants Vs Zombies are great)
1. This is completely relative. My favorite or most used apps could be your least favorite and never used apps. Your best bet is to wander around in the Play Store and just experiment.
2. Nova and Apex aren't themes, they're launchers. They offer more customization options than the stock launcher. You can also theme with them, yes. Again, there is no such thing as "best" - there is only preference. I personally prefer Nova Launcher Prime.
3. It depends on what you are after. If tons of customization is your thing, then yes, go with a custom ROM, such as Paranoid Android. If no, you are just a casual user, the stock ROM does a superb job.
4. Depends on the person. I read articles on it, books, some games, Skype, etc.
5. Asus Supernote.
6. XDA, Google Play Store.
7. I personally just use Chrome.
For backing up I recommend Carbon. As it works with or without root. If you're rooted you can use Titanium Backup but I've found it to be way more than I needed.
For browsing I use the default chrome. If I need flash I use firefox. You have to make sure you have flash installed seperately. See here for instructions. This works without root.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ofxPwmZULw
Some people recommend a custom kernel for better performance and battery lfie. Personally I have been very satisfied with a stock kernel and rom. I have rooted mine but I only use it to reset my bluetooth configuration because a gamepad I have sometimes doesn't pair properly. Somewhere on here there is a comparison of custom kernels if you want to check it out. I've forgotten where it is though.
Completely new to the forum and registered 5 min ago. I'm a proud owner of a Nexus 7 but coming from Apple I'm not sure where to go next.
I'm sure many people have asked these questions in the past and yes I have looked through the forums as well as good old fashion Google but not seen a one stop shop.
Please could someone take the time and help me with the below?
1. What are the best apps to use? What are the apps everyone is using?
2. What is the best things for Themes? I've heard of Novo and Apex but which one is the best? As a point of knowledge I'm looking for a minimalistic theme.
3. Is it really worth putting a new Rom on? Bootloader? Sorry all very new to me this stuff.
4. What do people use they Nexus for on an average day?
5. I want an app that I can draw add notes in but it is seamless with the PC so I can then transfer it to that and work on it in windows (works pc) possibly something like One Note but not One Note.
6. Where do people get the Nexus fix from? What is your source of information (apart from this wonderful website which I can believe Ive never registered on before)
7. Best Android browser (flash)
Appreciate it is allot of questions guys but I've posted on other forums to have no responses so Im really hoping the community will help me here.
Once again sorry for being a pain and hop this is in the correct section.
Thanks in advance
I agree with CrazyPeter...
If as you say, you are a complete novice with regard to Android... for the time being, just forget about ROMs, BOOTLOADERs and ROOT. All that will come much later.
Just enjoy your tablet as Google intended... there's a whole plethora of interesting stuff on PlayStore to be played with first.
-----
Here are some of my 'core' apps, which I have installed on all my Android boxes (and would consider to be incomplete without).
QuickPic, CatchNotes (In which I'm typing this), Dual File Manager, Temple Run 2, IMDB, Apex, Opera Mobile (although the new WebKit version, Opera Browser Beta is shaping up to be a great browser).
When I got my first Android device in 2010, I spent six months just playing around with stuff available on PlayStore... (read the reviews and recommendations).
This was well before I even considered rooting and flashing custom ROMs.
I would recommend you do something similar, just to gain the experience of using Android... and read, read and MORE read, everything you can.
XDA is a veritable Aladdin's Cave of Android knowledge. Avail yourself of it.
Rgrds,
Ged.
1 - You need to find your own apps, no-one can tell you what you'll like.
BetterBatteryStats is an app I ALWAYS recommend.
XDA Forum App
Coin Drop
Jetpack Joyride
Fing Network Monitor
Falcon Pro (AWESOME TWITTER CLIENT!!!!)
2 - Apex is better than Nova on Tablet, Nova is better than Apex on Smartphone. (My favourite minimalistic theme : https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hcGV4Lm1pbmltYWwiXQ..)
3 - HELL YEAH - Get Paranoid Android, and Either M-Kernel or Faux123 Kernel and you'll be dribbling mate !
4 - I just use it whilst being a couch potato, others take it out and about but I generally don't. Browsing, Watching Youtube, Forums, Email, Social (Facebook/Twitter)
5 - I'm not sure on this one, maybe Evernote?
6 - Pfft, nowhere but XDA!
7 - AOSP Browser (Built into Paranoid Android)
Thanks for all the responses so far guys and gals!
Use Evernote for note taking
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
I recently had to trim down the number of apps on my htc desire due to nand issues. Doing so also made me aware of the core apps I can't live without....so here's the list!
Adaway
flash player
Airdroid
Lightning browser
CPU spy
Drive
Dropbox
FTP server ultimate (use with filezilla)
Game killer
Gameboid
N64oid
Mx player
Remote for vlc
root explorer
Screen adjuster
Setcpu
Tasks free (I use this for notetaking in lecture - can then access from any device with internet)
Thumb keyboard
Titanium backup
Unified remote full
Swapps
Lmt
Wm FTP client
Tasker
appinstaller
Ezpdf reader
Xda app
Super hexagon
GMd gesture
Floating stickies
Teamviewer
Some/the most useful ones may need root
Oh and I highly recommend u root the nexus to unleash its full power
Definitely install multirom, it will allow u to multiboot different roms so u can test them out before deciding on one (or keeping them all). I personally multiboot a cm10.1 (android 4.2), paranoid android (4.1), and ubuntu (a desktop os). The reason for the 4.1 rom is coz its faster and less buggy than 4.2 , and "directory bind" app actually works - letting me run 16gb worth of android game files from a usb...awesome right?
Install flash player. google it to find the apk
use naked browser for flash.. Fastest and lightweight browser... great for flash
As what CrazyPeter said, just enjoy your tab and get all the juice you can from it. Everything will just fall into place if you want to experiment a little bit. I myself have not yet rooted or flashed custom ROMS but I'd probably will (to maximize my gaming experience). N7 is really doing well in gaming (Tegra 3 is a beast). I suggest, if you play a lot of games, go get an OTG cable and a PS3 controller or a controller built for Android (MOGA is really nice). These controller matches well with games like Shadowgun Deadzone and some pretty good console emulators (NES emu).
If you read a lot, there's a lot of really good readers (Adobe Reader, Kindle Fire) in the Play Store. Perfect Viewer is awesome for comics
You can browse the xda forums to help you with your N7 experience.
Awww yeah, I've wanted to find one of these threads forever. Despite joining the forum in 2010, I only really started using my account when I got a Nexus 7 last Christmas, so I'm still a bit new myself. However, I think I have a somewhat impressive mass of some of the best apps/options available to a N7 power user. Especially what's been posted so far, no offense. Sure, usage is mostly personal preference, but comparing apps to find the best is what's most fun about a competitive apps market. Also, there's no reason to think that custom roms/kernels/recoveries will "come with time." You should just do it now and have an awesome tablet asap! It's basically impossible to permanently brick your device, and it's very simple to do this stuff if you just read instructions and threads before asking questions.
On that subject, if you have any questions, ask away!
1. What are the best apps to use? What are the apps everyone is using?
Browsers: xScope (my fav), Dolphin, Firefox, Opera, Boat, AOSP
Launcher: Apex and Nova, lol
Music: PowerAMP, n7player, Google Music
Video: MX Player, Netflix
File Manager: ES File Manager (stream videos/media via wifi/LAN)
E-Books: Moon+ Reader
Word/Excel/PP: OfficeSuite Pro
Cloud: Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, Box, MediaFire, MEGA, Bitcasa
Weather: The Weather Channel
Misc: Beautiful Widgets, Reddit Sync (#1 reddit browser), TeamViewer, ShareKM (really cool), uTorrent+uTorrent remote, Changelog Droid, BetterBatteryStats
Games: Temple Run 2, Glow Hockey, TETRIS, Minecraft PE, ShadowGun: DeadZone, Dead Trigger, Jetpack Joyride, Major Mayhem, Robotek, The Shape Shooter, Cordy 1-3, GTA 3/Vice City, Cubes vs Spheres, The Impossible Game, Super Hexagon, Beat Hazard, Night Sky, Solar 2
Emulators: Mupen64 Plus (N64), Snes9x EX+ (SNES), FPSe (PSX), Gameboid/GBCoid (GBA/GBC), Gensoid (Genesis), there's a lot of emulators and they're easy to find.
2. What is the best things for Themes? I've heard of Novo and Apex but which one is the best? As a point of knowledge I'm looking for a minimalistic theme.
I don't use themes because stock is the only really great looking one to me, but there's a Themes List in the Themes and Apps section of the forums.
3. Is it really worth putting a new Rom on? Bootloader? Sorry all very new to me this stuff.
Roms, Recoveries, and Kernels are all very important when it comes to heavy optimization/customization on your device, and it's all very safe and easy on Nexus devices in particular, imo. They heavily impact functionality, speed, and appearance. Basically the Rom is what your operating system is, Recoveries are custom bootloaders that you can flash/backup/wipe/whatever with, and Kernels are like the backbone your Roms run off of.
I've tried a good few of the most popular roms/kernels, and there's a good reason they got that popular. TWRP is almost unarguably the best recovery you could get. ParanoidAndroid is outright the most used custom rom because of it's amazing customizable interface. M-Kernel is about the fastest by a margin and the developer is a cool dude. You can find these three (what I use) and a couple other good things in my signature. There's more detailed instructions if you just search around the forum or wikis or something.
4. What do people use they Nexus for on an average day?
I'm just a generally unbusy teenager, so I use mine for browsing the web, videos, reading, navigation, social networking, gaming, GAMING, file management, even working on documents for school. I know the iPad has a good handful of excellent tablet apps that just aren't really on Android, but there's still not much limitation with what you can do versus a laptop. It fits in your back pocket and the battery is god damn excellent.
5. I want an app that I can draw add notes in but it is seamless with the PC so I can then transfer it to that and work on it in windows (works pc) possibly something like One Note but not One Note.
Evernote? I dunno. I don't really take notes.
6. Where do people get the Nexus fix from? What is your source of information (apart from this wonderful website which I can believe Ive never registered on before)
reddit.com/r/Android is alright, I guess. Most important news surfaces there, and there's the occasional awesome app that recently came out. AndroidPolice is cool. Honestly, I mostly just browse the hell out of this forum and find pretty rad stuff.
7. Best Android browser (flash)
The Android Open Source Project Browser, AOSP Browser for short. It's the stock Android browser for most devices, but for some reason Google decided flashless Chrome would be a better fit, despite being slower and more quirky. The AOSP browser isn't available on any official site, but you can get it Here. Flashing it is easiest, but you can do it with ES File Manager if you wanna feel pro. Also most roms tend to replace Chrome with AOSP or a superior flash-compatible browser, just as a heads up.
Guys up till 3 am last night learning and fiddling (sounds odd) but this is what I got so far.
Just want to change the clock with something with a little colour
Those are actually rather awesome clock widgets, but there's this one that was created by a Google dev called "DashClock" and it's exploded with support and popularity as a suggested replacement to the current bland simple clock. If you search for it in the Play store, it'll show up with loads of optional extensions.
Basically it's like the stock clock, except it allows for extensions and it'll list weather, email, notifications, music, calendar events, alarms, any function you could imagine below it. Apparently a minimal-style list is easier to use than the stupid swiping left and right for additional widgets.
1. What are the best apps to use? What are the apps everyone is using?
- Igag
- Currents (preloaded)
- Mx player is THE video player, it plays everything.
- cloud print, if your printer supports it
- almost every printer nowadays has an app to print and scan too, very useful
- use those 20000 songs you can store in Google cloud - play music
Saves space on N7
- dropbox
- es file explorer
- adownloader (torrent client)
That's what I use daily. Browse trough play store, most of the apps that you know from iDevices are available for android too.
2. What is the best things for Themes? I've heard of Novo and Apex but which one is the best? As a point of knowledge I'm looking for a minimalistic theme.
Its called launcher, kind of like desktop replacement on Linux, but not really. Try the both, but only paid versions offer any real advantages over default launcher. I use nova prime.
Minimalistic themes are useless, they are not very productive, IMHO.
3. Is it really worth putting a new Rom on? Bootloader? Sorry all very new to me this stuff.
No, not really. You will get a hang of it as you browse xda some more, but keep it stock for now, rooting it is worth it though, for example to remove adds.
4. What do people use they Nexus for on an average day?
Emails, web, series and movies on the go, music player through Bluetooth adapter in the living room, news, games...
And navigation, once I get a suitable car mount.
Its also a great eBook reader, I use Mantano app.
I also use it for video monitoring my baby, using IP webcam on my phone and tinycam monitor on nexus7.
5. I want an app that I can draw add notes in but it is seamless with the PC so I can then transfer it to that and work on it in windows (works pc) possibly something like One Note but not One Note.
Search play store a little, I don't know, I don't use them.
6. Where do people get the Nexus fix from? What is your source of information (apart from this wonderful website which I can believe Ive never registered on before)
Xda is the best, other websites just steal from here mostly. You don't need any other, you belong to us now!
7. Best Android browser (flash)
Chrome for everyday browsing, Firefox beta does flash I think.
You have to find flash apk yourself though, I never need flash.
Try all popular browsers and decide for yourself. I did, and I stuck to chrome.
What is SPMC? Stream on Demand in an italian addon for italian channel, sorry XD
How you install the addon? Probably i do something wrong. Sorry for my bad english, i hope you can understand me
Ps. Is helpful the rooting of remix mini?
Pps. i've found SPMC, today i'll try it
Keep us posted. SPMC is a streamiline buikd of Kodi. I am using the latest built on 16.1 I think
Rooting is a bit challenging because of the way it has to be done. Is it beneficial? Well you can delete some bloat and add other apps. I am still tinkering, but you can also break your system. There is no cutom recovery and I am not sure if bootloader is unlocked. I am just learning to mess with android so it is fun.
Oh, good, you're here! I have Jarvis (16.1?) from google play store, see on semperpax your 16.3.0 SPMC. I know you like the Nvidia Shield (should I get it if it's gonna spend most of it's life as a Kodi machine? Oh, and MLB at Bat device, really important as the Mini only gives basic android app while my ancient WD Live Plus box has a richer version with "Skip to inning" and "watch from beginning" on live games and jump forward button for commercial breaks without having to scroll or fast forward just tap button (I hear but not sure the Shield does that too) so get the Shield or not (it's so damn sexy while the Mini and WD are basically doing their jobs and there is no native keyboard with the Shield)?
Back to question: Does SPMC have any advantage for the Mini?
I see on semperpax that abilities are added to Shield and I don't have a fancy sound system, just soundbar (Vizio).
Currently using TDB Wizard Zeus Build. Is that the right one for Mini? Says it's for 2 GB devices. Everything working. But since you build/use the SPMC, gotta believe it's good. And we are talking koying SPMC?
Simple: Is koying/SPMC better on Mini than the Zeus build (or something like it)?
Also, does the Mini main screen being on a lower resolution (so the icons are bigger and easier to click with air mouse) affect the Kodi screen and movies?
The Kodi icons seem to be the same size either way but sometimes seems like HD stream is better when Mini set to 1080x1920 but could be wrong as streams vary so much.
Once again, does the Mini resolution setting affect Kodi?
Did you ever find good reasons for rooting? I've been able to sideload anything I've wanted (though I still wish I was able to move MLB app from WD to Mini (not for me directly but my wife is much happier when she has her baseball, so yeah it's for me, too)).
And lastly, if I give in to the sexiness of the Nvidia Shield, will the remote work wonderfully (wife, remember, baseball, chick tv shows) is there any point in getting the 500 GB model if I have 3 extra 2GB hard drives with a cheapy external reader, not NAS (though I've used none of them since Kodi streams but have thought of setting up PVR function for F1 races)? Oh, and I've seen folks trying to run PIA VPN on Shield (for baseball blackouts), with varying results. Any experience?
Wow, thanks, I've unloaded so many of my little streaming doubts, are you "oncouch" like a therapist?
Rooting allows use of some programs to clean bloat, or rearrange system etc. All not mandatory but I like the freedom. Also using apps2sd pro to move apps to SD card re d . Adblocker and others need root. Some was built for Android not PC so it is smaller and optimized for our hardware.
