At&t Branding - Motorola Atrix HD

I got my hd today and I love it. It keeps throwing me off having that at&t symbol right below the freaking home button. I keep hitting it. I guess i was too used to my gs3 home button. This phone is freakin awesome..

I hate the branding. It really takes away from the look of the phone.
Anyways, can't complain too much. This phone rocks. I cant wait for root. I'm going to make a tweaked build.prop for everyone to use. I'm sure I can get it to benchmark better than the SGS3. So who cares I guess, all phones these days look alike practically.

Yes that att branding pisses me off too!! And all that space could have been used for bigger screen!!!!

I'm glad it's just the deathstar logo and not the letters too.

ugh

No.... just no. I really wish people would stop saying this. You're all .... anyway:
There's a big black bar at the bottom for the same reason there's a big black bar at the top.
A) to put your hardware. It's gotta go somewhere. Bigger screen on top of the hardware, would've meant bigger/heavier phone.
B) There also has to be big black space at the top of the phone for the ear piece and the camera.... It has to match at the bottom, or else the screen wouldnt be symmetric.
Try this with me. Just for a second:
Hold your phone in landscape mode.
Imagine that you didnt have big black areas at the top or bottom
You'd have nowhere to rest your thumbs, and your fingers would be on the screen.
Also imagine how the screen would look offset to the bottom of the phone.... EW.
It matters less in portrait mode because you can squeeze the phone between your fingers & palm naturally.
When in landscape mode, you'll have to use two hands, and holding it with friction would be uncomfortable and unsafe.

I could careless for a screen larger than 4.3" the Atrix HD 4.5" is perfect.
I know there is hardware under the logo area. Also on the top end you have the notification LED, front camera and light sensor.
The complaint with the Death Star logo is that its right smack in the middle like the Iphone home button.
The Atrix HD looks really clean without buttons, but the logo disrupts the clan look and feel.
No one is really crying about it. Its just a frustrating after thought on behalf of AT&T. They could have placed it on the back with all that other serial number and LTE information is stamped.
I know that moshi screen protectors will cover the logos so you cant see them. I had one on my Atrix 2 and it was a really clean look.
I'll just have to wait for Moshi to make one for the MAHD.
So far I just have a universal one that only covers the screen area.

I got the screen protector at the AT&T store, its great, covers the whole front of the phone, but it leaves a window for the deathstar. i'm probably gonna put some black something under it to hide it eventually. I think it's subtle enough. but it would've been much better on the back.
I promise you that wasnt added there by designers. it was added by a business person.

I agree.

Just a quick MSpaint Edit!
Branding removed.
I have to admit though... It looks kinda boring.
I should have left more of the Motorola Branding on the top.

When I was watching some of the reviews on youtube, I thought the AT&T logo was a physical button. Why does AT&T have to slap their
logo on every phone they have? I have the Samsung S3 from Rogers and there's no logo on the phone. Pretty much all the Canadian carriers
don't put their logos on the phones now because everyone was complaining about it. I hope the Bell version of the Atrix HD don't have any Bell branding on it. I have to get mine from Bell because it doesn't look like Rogers will be carrying it.

If you want a really good screen protector that will cover the branding check out the Moshi screen protector.
Moshi Black Anti-Glare
The preview shows a Atrix 2, but I placed a phone call for an order earlier yesterday asking if they had it and Customer rep said they had it online.
It's 25 bucks, but worth every penny. I have one on my Atrix 2 and it covers all the branding. You just plop it on, no need to squeege it, or spray it with water. You place it on dry and its guaranteed not to bubble.
I had a amber from a bon fire land on my screen. It melted the edge of the screen protector, but my screen was fine.
I just peeled off the protector and used a pocket knife to scrape off the burnt piece.
The protector is very thick, and it would help with the Atrix HD's super sensitive screen thats notorious for selecting icons in the middle of a swipe.

Oily liquid underneath screen - from nowhere

I'm gutted. Somehow my Diamond has got this oily liquid underneath the screen in the centre of the screen. It's come from nowhere?? I haven't got it wet, have always used a screen protector, etc but now it's as if it has escaped from somewhere inside the phone and is now sitting between the digitizer and the glass underneath. Where on earth does this come from? Has anyone known this to happen to other HTC's? I guess it has come from the LCD. God only knows how this happened, I treat my Diamond with a lot of care. I tried to take some photos for you guys to show you what I mean but it was pointless, you can only see this oil slick when the light reflects off the screen so it's hard to actually capture that in a photo. Just imagine an oil slick underneath the screen that moves around when you touch it with your finger. Oh yeah, and now my digitizer is inaccurate all the time. Actually I made a little picture to at least try and illustrate (sorry I suck at paintbrush)
I'm a bit worried that I'm going to end up with one of those ****ty yellow-tint replacement LCD's. My friend bought a touch pro the other day and he ended up with one of these screens, and believe me, they are A JOKE. The look *pitiful*. If this happens it's byebye Diamond and byebye HTC. Just on 6 months old this thing and been treated with nothing but absolute care. I might even do the unthinkable and get an iphone now I hear that TomTom is on it's way over there.. Wow I guess I must be really pissed off, lol..

Have same problem
I used hair dryer but it is there still.
all i can say is that not always and only looking from a certain angle i have the same square stain you describe. i thought i am the only one....
the strange thing is that looking now at the screen everything looks OK (the stain is not there) but i remember seeing the stain in many occasions in the past. maybe is temperature related and right now is morning here and i didn't start using my device yet.
i'll keep an eye on this thread.
i also take good care of my device and use a screen protector.
Finaly some out there with the same problem as me
I have the idea that it could be the result of presure to the screen!
...you get the same "oilish" look when you press a finger on the screen!

Yes, exactly, staring at the screen normally, I cannot see it. But, when the light hits it, I can see it very much.
And, now when tapping the screen instead of feeling that cushioned kind of effect, it's now really hard and the taps with the stylus are much louder than what they were before. It's like the previously trapped 'oil' actually gave a softening effect, but now it has escaped or whatever, and it feels like I am tapping glass, or something equally as hard. But we all know the glass is a couple layers deep, and there is the soft digitizer and also the screen protector between that glass and the stylus. Now it feels like those extra layers are not even there. I can barely use the horizontal scrollbars now as the stylus is inaccurate in a lot of areas on the screen, but not all, and not all the time. (?) Even after a re-calibration the problem is not going away. Dialling a number takes several attempts due to missed numbers, and other niggly annoying things you can imagine. Hmmm. I wonder how many people have this but have not noticed yet?
Please post here is you have this problem, guys! Remember to look at your screen with an overhead light directly bouncing off your screen and into your eyes. Then you will see the oil slick effect. And when in the position you can touch the screen with your finger and see the oily liquid move around. Please let us know if you have this problem, thanks.
probably from heat/humidity. happens with my atom exec
Hi guys,
i don't have Diamond but sometimes check Diamond forum.
I thin that the problem you are referring to, also occured on some of the HTC Touches(Elfs).
Check this thread(post #106 has some ample pics):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322251&page=11
P.S. I don't know if they managed to solve the screen smudge issue.
Cheers.

I think its related to what the screen reflects, because sometimes i see it to and sometimes i don't, now i have a LCD Computer Screen from samsung and if i use the phone at home i don't see the 'oil', if i place my phone in the right direction so that it reflects the screen i will see the screen reflected part with the 'oil' ,so if i hold it so that my LCD screen appears for 50% on my screen(y-ax) and the other 50 percent of the diamond reflects a wall or something, i only see the 'oil' at that part that reflects my LCD screen...
Now this isn't only with my LCD screen, the roof @ my school does the same thing, some kind of walls, etc.
whoa, that's really weird, I just noticed that on my Diamond while sat at my desk...! I'm sure I would have seen it before now, but who knows... It's only visible under certain light though (flourescent seems to be the worst). Its presence doesn't appear to affect the digitizer and can't actually see it when the backlight's on...
I had exactly the same problem. Called HTC logged as a fault .. New screen replaced under warranty . Very impressed !
Its the touch screen touching the LCD ... A known probelm to HTC so give them a call
Thanks for all your replies everyone
My touch screen is really hard to use now so shouldn't be a problem getting it replaced, I hope!
I will call our HTC repairer Monday then let you know how it goes, thanks!
oil in the center of screen
ahhh I just noticed the same oily substance on my diamond too!! so whats the deal ?!
Wow I have the same problem too...don't see it directly but when I tilt it at certain angle I can see it. I will give HTC a call and hopefully they will help me replace the screen.
Mines the same
Just sent off for repair with t mobile
Nice to know I can direct them here if they decide to say it's not a common problem so I must have done it
Got it here too!
screen went really bad touching one area say opens different links in opera or anyother app.
will be in touch with orange and point them to this thread........cant beat XDA devs!!
the same problem but who to call
hi guys
just wanted to ask
i am from israel and bought the diamond on ebay from a store in the states
who can i call?
htc will probably want me to ship it to them
and then i will be without a phone for a month
what should i do?
Me too!! Ditto!
I got the same problem too!!!! And OMG....soo many ppl have it too!! This is crazy.....its like some mass defective shipment or something! I have the same oily patch on my elfin. And my digitizer is new....its barely been 2 months!! I had it replaced coz I accidentally cracked the last one. Though it doesn't seem to be affecting the screen calibration or any of the screen accuracy. I hope its not like a problem that aggravates into something else altogether (fingers crossed).
Have the same problem with my diamond. Will send it to HTC repair center in austria a few days past christmas.
merry christmas !

Good old Orange UK contacted them this morning and will receive a new diamond tomorrow!!! soo cool well worth leaving t mob for!
Same problem on my Touch HD (Blackstone)
Got my Touch HD less than 4 weeks ago and noticed a small oliy patch (size a 5p coin) in the bottom after a few days. Sometimes the patch was visible and sometimes not. It has now progressed to a rectangle of about 1 inch by 3 inch. I noticed it can hardly be seen with normal light bulbs or outside, but under certain light conditions like our special lighting in the office (some natural, blue light bulbs) AND energy saving light bulbs it is very obvious and annoying.
I have no idea how it happened as I had 3 other HTC touch screen devices in the past without this problem. I am carrying my phone in my trouser back pocket, but I think it does not bend it enough to cause this. Another suspicion (guess of mine) is the screen protector itself. I am wondering that maybe the temp difference between protector and screen was too large and when it contracted it pulled away the upper layer of the touch screen?
I am attaching a bmp that shows the patch on the phone.
I have now contacted BuyMobilePhones.net where I bought the phone and after being wrongly asked to contact Orange for a fault code, I have sent it to them for repair/replacement. I hope I will get it back next week. Until then I will use my Artemis / O2 XDA Orbit 2.

Hardware malfunction - Gap between screen layers

I received my phone this Monday. It has worked perfectly since , and I am very happy with the device overall.
However, a couple of hours ago I noticed that the protective layer (outer layer), the one that protects the whole front surface (no, not the screen protector), has loosened from the layer below which is probably the touch layer.
The gap is very noticeable when using the stylus as I reach two pressure points before the phone reacts to the touch.
The air between the layers also creates a rainbow effect when the light passes through screen -> air -> protective plastic -> grease\fingerprint.
I would like to know if anyone else has experienced anything similar. As I said it is very easy to notice if you press slowly down on the screen with the stylus. I can make the outer layer wobble without touching the resistive layer below.
Thanks
Nope ... no signs of any gap here.
I'd suggest returning it to your hardware store and demand a new one.
I'm sure i can feel 2 layers too, but no problems as such.
I have been in contact with HTC and they claim that this is an unknown problem, however serious.
I am returning the device as it is DOA.
The gap is easy to notice if you press lightly with the stylus on the middle of the screen.
When I first started using the device the outer layer felt like glass because there was no supression. Now it feels like a sheet of plastic on top of a lowered piece of glass with a tiny gap of air in between.

I bet you've never used a capacitive touch screen before What you are describling is simply called "digitizer" and it's meant to be exactly like this. If you want to press a glass-like hard surface, the only chance is going for a resistive dislay (iPhone, Samsung Omnia HD, HTC Dream...)

You got it twisted here. Replace capacitve by resistive in your post.
hehe... I see what you mean, but I know how the screen is designed. However, when my screen goes from feeling like glass (which just means that the layers are without any airpockets between them) to feeling like a baloon, I am very certain that it can be classified as a faulty unit.

I realise that this may happen as the device gets old, but 3 days is pretty fast. They should have shipped with the airpocket to begin with if this is to expect from a few days use.

hmmm... I had MANY pdas (tytn II, diamond, touch hd, xperia X1, diamond 2) and ALL of them could make you feel the upper layer slighlty "going down" and touching the under layer, when pressed with stylus. Diamond 2 is no exception. Speaking about your drawings, there is no resistive screen made as shown in the top picture. A resistive screen has to ba made as shown in the bottom one, with a microscopic space between the hard screen and the flexible digitizer. My Diamond 2 behaviour is the same as yours and so is the behaviour of every PDAs I had in the past.
ps sorry for my bad English
Well, my microscopic space must have gotten bigger. I noticed a difference from wednesday to thursday, and even the sales dept at the website where i bought it couldn't feel any compression of the outer layer when using the stylus. This might be a common issue with the D2 which you didn't notice because you're obviously used to it.
It would be great if someone else could check to see if their device acts the same.
The gap is very noticable. Probably 0.3-0.5 mm.

Transform nexus 7 into white tablet. Looks very nice!

Hi guys, I bought a decal skin sticker for my nexus 7 a few days ago from Stickerboy, and installed it. At first, it looked kind of weird but I think it's because I was so used to the black nexus 7. Now after a few days, it looks really nice. It feels like the tablet actually came in white.
You should also get the extreme version because that one will cover the back entirely, so it looks nice. I didn't get the centre screen protector. Not only it costs much more after that, I didn't know how it would work, like if it's a separate centre protector or if it's connected to the white front as one piece. If it's the latter, I think it will be better though as the sticker is actually thicker than I thought, so you can definitely feel it when you glide your finger from the sticker to the screen.
Anyway, I still like it a lot.
Ask me if you guys have any question!

Hey,
http://www.stickerboy.net/pages/nexus-7-1st-gen-skin-series this is the link for all the types of skin for nexus 7 1st gen.
What I have is this. http://www.stickerboy.net/collectio...lth-matte-antibacterial-nexus-7-1st-gen-skins
This is the super smooth finish version, but there is also the antibacterial one with grainy textured version for white as you'll find. I'm not sure how that one would look though. There is also this. http://www.stickerboy.net/collectio.../products/white-leather-nexus-7-1st-gen-skins Leather white. I personally think it would look a little bit weird with the texture, but not 100% sure.
I like the one I got for the most part. It's very smooth and feels nice, but when the tablet is warm, and your hands are also sticky, fingerprints stick to the back, and it kind of gets sticky from your hand, but after a short time, it just comes back to normal, smooth. and not really noticeable fingerprint. Just when the tablet is warm and you hand is sweaty.
Hope it helps!

Nice!
On the white one that you have, what's it like when it comes to general dirt? Does it wipe well, or does it easily retain dark marks and become dirty-looking quickly?
As for the link to the other skins, some actually look pretty darn cool!
Does it scratch easy? How about the corners? did it require using a hair dryer to soften it up? Im always worried that the corners will start peeling

Hey, I'm very sorry for late reply! I was expecting a notification from Tapatalk or something but there was nothing.
This one I have is very very smooth feel. Wipes super easily. Anything that gets on it, dirt, grease, they gets wiped very easily. But because of that, maybe it's not as grippy. But I don't mind personally.
Hope it helps!

As with my previous comment a few seconds ago, sorry for late reply! I haven't had any scratches yet. It seems pretty durable. Yea, I had to use hair dryer to soften it up the corners, then apply the corners. It's actually pretty simple. Just like you, I was worried because of the fact that I need to use hair dryer, so I first didn't buy this, but I was so temped, and decided to try. And there is a very helpful tutorial video on youtube, specifically for nexus 7 2012 version. It shows you regular fit and extreme fit, and for extreme fit, it will show you how to use hair dryer to get the corners. I followed that and it was pretty easy. Also, the video said, if you got it wrong, you should intentionally damage the skin and straighten it to reapply the corner. But I didn't do this as I was worried, I just peeled off the mistaken corner, and blow dried it and it softened up, and I just re applied and it worked fine.
One important tip, was that when you apply the corner as it was shown in video, you do the center of the corner first, then do the sides of the corner (you'll get it when you watch the video). You have to KEEP applying the blow dryer until you finish applying the corner. What I mean is..you should NOT stop the blow dryer after it seemed softened up. Keep applying the blow dryer until it softened up AND you have finished applying that one corner. Because when you stop the dryer, and apply with your finger, it will harden very quickly, and it will have wrinkles after you apply. I had this problem, and I peeled off again in the corner, and tried again, and it worked perfectly.
Hope if helps!
I had a skin on one of my older phones before. There is one thing people should think about. It didn't cross my mind until after I got the skin. Screen Protectors. The screen protector would have to go first, but you won't be able to take off the skin since the screen protector would come with it. LoL!!
This looks nice, but I replace my screen protector a bit often since it scratches. Guess I won't be getting this. =.[

[Q] Does your screen have uniform color (or color temp?)

So we were discussing this on the other forum--google "uniform screen color" on android central for the thread. Someone posted that their screen color wasn't uniform, and so I shared my experience below.
I had to return my turbo because there was clear but subtle color difference depending on the area of the screen--almost like the color temp was getting warmer in the lower right corner, or like someone described, like there was too much brightness in one area vs another. It got more obvious to me as i used the phone, especially for reading ebooks.
When using the app "display test" from the play store, and the "viewing angle test" graphic, it was obvious that contrast, color, and white balance was different in the lower right corner.
I returned it, argued forever (2 hrs) with the manager at verizon who couldn't see it...until I showed him the test graphic, and he looked at the various parts of the screen with a jewelers loupe (magnifier.) They replaced it as a defect, but said it was so subtle they were basically doing me a favor. I disagree, but whatever, time will tell on these displays.
The new one, while MUCH better....still does not provide uniform color temp and brightness. It's disappointing, given how great this display was supposed to be.
I'd love if anyone else could look at the test graphics and see for yourselves...but be forewarned, as I said in the other forum, once you see it you can never unsee it......
And yes I took the plastic off of the screen.
Sadly I see the same on mine. Originally had a ballistic nylon model which had the issue and have since switched to the standard with the same. Mine is almost more of a banding horizontally across the screen almost like it heats up and cools down a few times through the height of the screen.
It's very, very slight on mine. Can't decide if its a swap issue for me yet.
Shame we don't have a way to back these up for issues, I just got it where I wanted it!

I think I am not going to worry about mine. Who knows what issues another phone would have!

Huh? Its AMOLED RGBG, possibly the WORST display technology ever invented. How can you have expected it to be "great"?
I'm in the same boat. It's more noticeable on a white background. Any chance it can improve over time? I recall iphones having similar issues a couple years ago and people saying there was a "break in" period.
No idea. Decided to live with mine last high and today considering a return this afternoon, lol.

I definitely have an incredibly noticeable pinkish tint at the top of my screen. This is quite infuriating.

Are you going to exchange it? I thought about doing this, but I'm afraid the replacement might be just as bad or worse. I have the pinkish tint on the bottom half of the screen.
I'm curious as to how open Verizon will be to exchanging it for such a "minor" issue. I just got a replacement because calls wouldn't work on my first one, so I was able to get some pretty good comparison photos (both phones at max brightness viewing the same images in QuickPic with no ambient light photographed with my 5D): New phone is on the left.

I thought it did until I read this. There is a redish blob about an inch up from the bottom. Now I cant unsee it. I will wait a few months and the use motos guarantee let them work out the manufacturing issues first.

I think I am going to do the same.
My 3rd Turbo, after 2 14-day exchanges, only has a small line of pink about an inch up from the bottom. However, it also goes away depending on viewing angle (it shifts up once I view it past like 45 degrees tilting the top away from me). So who knows.
I know this is an old thread but I got my Moto Maxx today and it has this same issue towards the top part of the phone. I got it from swappa from a store in PR so I'm wondering if I should see if they will swap it out for me but it seems like all of them have it to some degree or another? I have also seen similar posts about the nexus 6 (not low brightness pink hue issue but like this, uneven temp) I'm wondering if I should go through the trouble if the next one will be the same
Just got my turbo last week and noticed pink discoloration about an inch down from the top and half an inch up from the bottom, full width of the screen. To those who have had this device for several months, does the pink go away? Anybody out there manage to get a non pink one? Contemplating taking it back after flashing back to stock image. Thanks!
Edit: Here is a pic of the screen at full brightness taken with my LG G2. Oops, there is some pocket fuzz on glass, don't mind that. The right side of the pic is the top of my Turbo screen and has about twice as much pink as the bottom of the screen.

Here is my Turbo next to a good one at Costco. Mine is on the right. Pretty easy to see how pink it is:
Funny story really...so I got a new Turbo after making sure the screen was good - no discernible pinkness from normal viewing angles. I took it back to work and set it on the wireless charger I got at Verizon a few days ago. When I set it on there, the phone apparently crashed and booted into Fastboot. I was surprised but thought maybe the case I put on it was pushing the volume and power buttons down, but nope it wasn't. OK, so I chose to Start from Fastboot, it rebooted right back into Fastboot...uh oh. I chose Factory and hit the button aaaaaaaand this Droid was never living again. It went black and doesn't do jack now. It charges still, so that part of it still functions, but nothing you push will cause it to display anything or vibrate, etc. Great.....back to Costco I go. This time the dude was all "You know...you fulfilled your early-upgrade requirements by sending in the Razr, you could probably swap your dead Turbo for any phone if you do Edge". Hmm, this was unexpected...welcome, but unexpected. I had the S6 staring me in the face and I know they got root on the Verizon version, so I got one of those, joining the sheep. I do miss the Turbo, but the S6 is nice, too. I don't know which one I like better yet, but I'm leaning towards the S6 without letting the 2 bad Turbo's sway my opinion. I did lose about $100 in screen protectors, cases, and Mofo with the Turbo experiment, but it was worth it to get upgraded 7 months before my upgrade date.
And ya the Verizon dude noticed the hash in the notification for the "SU binary update" or whatever, and SuperUser in the app drawer...and he just laughed. Glad I didn't waste my time restoring it back to the stock image.

mine has a similar issue. the lower half of the screen has a pinkish hue. did yours get fixed?

This slippery & fingerprint magnet Edge needs some help!

New Dbrand skins put on my S7 Edge as it is too slippery and has too many logo's on the back. Also next time you get the chance, turn over your phone and look closely under bright light below the Carrier Logo & S7 Edge Logo and you'll see faint fine printing "don't throw this is the trash" and garbage can graphic, kinda like what you see when you took the past phones back cover off. Don't believe me? ....check it out yourself. To me the carrier & brand logos AND that fine printing cheapens the phone. Looks good from the distance, but cheap up close. really bugged me, besides it is so slippery when holding it...so I fixed it with a Dbrand skin

Hi william, congratulations on making your 800$ uber sexy phone look like a chinese 2nd hand knock off phone so fast.
@ Semseddin Wow! Thanks for the nice compliment. LOL
Next time you get the chance, turn over your phone and look closely under bright light below the Carrier Logo & S7 Edge Logo and you'll see faint fine printing about three lines and a small garbage can with a circle & X going through it, kinda like what you see when you took the past phones back cover off. Don't believe me? ....check it out yourself. To me the carrier & brand logos AND that fine printing cheapens the phone. Looks good from the distance, but cheap up close. really bugged me, besides it is so slippery when holding it...so I fixed it. I like it, so that is what matters.
However I might take off the carbon fiber on the front... not sure yet.
Anyways, thanks for being so brutally honest.
You can barely see the fine writing... I think that looks better than covering the back.
But whatever, each to their own!

Nah... that bugged me too much as I kept seeing it in bright lights... cheapened it too much, besides it is way too slippery too.

Why do you continually stare at the back of the phone? I would rather stare at the screen, personally and not get OCD about something that is barely visible except under the most extreme lighting circumstances.

Because it's there and it bugs me and I do see it from time to time. Besides it is very slippery to hold and a big time fingerprint magnet. It's like my Vette, I can't stand dirt or fingerprints on it. So I gave you three good reason. You must be an average joe user if any of those don't bother you

Unfortunately, all the writing and the "don't throw this is the trash" graphic is an EU requirement. I wish they left it off the US phones, but it's a lot easier to just make one part than two.
As for being slippery and a fingerprint magnet, I have to agree. But the silver titanium is so sexy I can't bear to cover it up with a skin. I'm using a clear, thin case.
Ghost Armor has a matte front and back film screen protector. That might make it less of a fingerprint magnet...

Here is what I'm talking about... UGLY!!! and slippery. I'll leave the front as it is, take off the carbon fiber, (after all, that is what you see & use the most) but the back I like much better with the purple skin and it has a nice grip now.
This looks much better, doesn't add bulk and keeps the Edge regular shape as it is a skin, plus it is not slippery as it is real slippery with the stock housing. The front I left alone as it looks great.
Leaving the front of S7 Edge as it is...
Some of you slammed my skins I put on my S7 Edge... sorry, but I like it very much and so did a couple managers too. One was at Verizon store and another was at Best Buy, however I did take off the carbon fiber on the front and left it as it is, but was thinking of putting a Zagg's HD screen protector on it. However, I think I'll hold off and getting a screen protector for now as I was at Best Buy today looking at the Zaggs HD screen protector and the sales manager who was impressed with my purple skin. He even took a picture of me with the purple phone in hand with my purple gear S smartwatch. He said I don't need a screen protector... (made me promise not to tell anyone at the store as he is suppose to sell, not talk out of...) promptly took out his Note 5, grabbed his car keys and proceeded to scrape hard all over his screen and tap on it hard... no scratches at all, asked if I wanted to try it on his phone. I said I believed him LOL I was impressed! Anyways, I ask him why he did that and he said my phone looked too nice to put anything else on it. So, I thanked him and went on my way, didn't buy the screen protector. Saved me $25 plus $10 installation.

I updated a pic in post #10 one of the three reasons I went with a skin on the rear, too many logos & fine prints on rear.
The other two reasons for the skin was it is too slippery and all the phones now are either black/sliver/gold/white.
I happen to like red & purple. Samsung use to have some great looking maroon red phones:
Ok, glad you are happy with the result. I still don't like it, but it is your phone.

Lol that samsung phone reminds me of my old Moto Q and Palm Treo 750. Good ole days

Yes it is MY phone and I love the results... and I do not like all the crap they put on the back of the S7 / S7 Edge.
