Whos getting the Thrill 4G?
I think I may get it. This phone is great and all but GPS blows because of the mfg defect of the back GPS antenna not making contact. This proved a huge pain in the arse Friday when I actually had to use the navigation. In order for it to work correctly I had to keep my finger firmly pressed on the antenna...

The Thrill is my AT&T company phone, I'm an employee, and the battery life is ABYSMAL! If you thought the Inspire was bad, wait til that one comes out. Trust me, don't do it. Trying to setup my Exchange email, battery dropped from 93 to 79 in about 10 minutes of me fiddling with it. All on "4G".

Really? This (http://www.bgr.com/2011/08/17/lg-thrill-4g-review/) and a few others I've read says it's shipping with 2.2 with a promised 2.3 update from ATT. nothing about ICS
1ghz dual core is cool, but only 512mb RAM? running froyo? this doesn't exactly seem like a step forward. and if the battery life is really as abysmal as stated previously, it won't be something i'm interested in

My wife and I get our upgrades in December and have already decided which ones we are gonna get. My wife will be getting the LG Thrill. I will be getting the HTC Holiday/Inspire HD/Raider, whichever it gets decided to be called after it finally gets at least announced.

I have already ordered my Thrill 4G from radioshack acouple of weeks ago... supposed to be out this week (sept 4th) now with Gingerbread pre-installed... fingers crossed!!!
my heart isnt set on the 3d asspect... it is the fact that is a dual core dual ram dual channel device... for 79.99 at radioshack and target!!!
thats a good deal... throw a custom rom on there with some optimizations..and there ya go!!!
i am a Samsung junkie i had only one other lg smartphone before... lg incite.. wm 6.1 SUCKED BALLS perfomance wise till i put custom rom on..
actually it was a tough little device.. basically unbrickable.
so if i dont like the lg thrill and really think it isnt worth it... i will take it back and i will get the Infuse... my friend has one that i put a nice rom on and it blows everyphone i have ever played with out of the water...
i love the AMOLED screen and the weight and "slimness"...
anywho,
Good Luck to me... gonna get it Sunday.

From what I've read about the Optimus 3D, even though it has only 512 of RAM, because of the RAM being dual channel it is still suprisingly not laggy, if at all. Yes, it would be smooth as hell if it had more, but reviews have said that 512 of dual channel RAM is not too much of a drawback.

It might be just me but the 3D gives me a headache.
News on the thrill...
Radioshack confirmed today... delays were originally due to the noted screen defect on several devices... secondly getting a manufacturing deal with corning... the makers of gorilla glass... they were supposed to get a deal... looked like they lost it... were considering raising the price... they worked it out and all is well... they also confirmed it will ship with gingerbread update installed....
Congrats to all those patient enough to wait!!!

Duo/Quad core with slightly better GPU and I'll use it for another 3 years.
My phone is currently with HTC service for changing USB port /mainboard. Depending on the condition it comes back,I'm sticking with my current phone.

I just got my phone back from HTC, I sent it in because my power button was a bit dodgy, and my warranty is running out
Anyway I got it back, more than a month later, and it had a new motherboard, s-on with HBOOT 2.00.000
I had planned to sell it, and buy an Evo 3D, but after I took pictures for ebay, I decided to keep it, and I downgraded and rooted it
As soon as ICS arrives, I will be happy

Nexus Family is one of the best candidates.
My friend moved from InS to Galaxy Nexus for a month, And he told me that he wouldn't buy any other brand but Nexus.
The only current phone I would upgrade to would be the One S, and right now I have no plans to retire my Incredible S for the foreseeable future.

Well my IncS sure had a better battery life.
I would like my onex's battery to last longer, but I can live with it.
And the speed and smoothness is so much greater on this one. And I am running completely stock and not even rooted.
Also I am one of the lucky ones having almost none of the reported issues with the OneX.
So its clearly an upgrade I would recommend

My contract ends this time next year :/
IMO the galaxy s 3 looks ugly, if I wanted something else I would get a one s
It just looks good, fast, and cos the one x is too big
So i am an atrix 2 who is within my 30 day period and thinking about returning my phone for the vivid (can't afford a one x). I am wanting to know if any of you regret your choice in getting the vivid and if there are any cons that I should know about before jumping in.

I very well may return the Atrix 2 and continue to use my Inspire until the price of the One X comes down a little bit. Still undecided at this point.
I have both Atrix 2 (work phone) and Vivid (personal phone).

Thanks for that. I haven't tried that ROM. I will probably take a look today.
i love my vivid i have 2 one as a backup and 1 for personal use i would recommend getting the black one phone is great, i would highly recommend unlocking the bootloader and using Holic's rom Have fun with your vivid!
if I had the opportunity to swap this phone for another, I would, but I don't know what handset I would go for, ultimately this device has everything I want out of a device, physically I hate the battery cover as I am constantly pulling it off whilst getting the phone out of my pocket, and it slips up infront of the camera lense inside cases all the time.
After this device I'm pretty sure that I am done with HTC, I'll probably look at a samsung offering next time, maybe even the next Nexus.
Who's still here? I know we have had a mass exodus from this device, but I'm curious how many stragglers we have left? If you're still here, are you leaving soon?
I have around 6 months left but I don't know if I will change at that time. I wish we could get ics on here. It would make things more tolerable.

I'm sitting on the fence. I would settle for the phone being stable, regardless of what OS it runs on (which is what I'm working on). I've got my TF300 for Android play.
I'm considering whether it's worth trying to go through the hassle of packaging something, or just giving this thing the boot and buying a phone outright.
I won't be renewing my contract with Verizon EVER as I never want to lose my unlimited plan.
I have two. Might go to one soon......
Still have mine. My contract is up on Jan. 26th. which is 5 months early. I am guessing they are trying to get me off unlimited data early. I got news for them... Here at work we are part of Microsoft's Customer Assurance program. We test out software and devices for them in a live enterprise environment and report back any issues. Kind of like a closed beta tester. They give us phones for various carriers. We got iPhones, android, and windows phones to test their software on. We put in for WP8 if we get confirmation then we will get Lumia 822. I will just issue myself one of those to use till I tire of it. That way I can keep my unlimited data. Fran schammo can kiss my ass that greedy corporate douche.
That last post made me laugh. Not sure a "thanks" is appropriate, but it's as close as we have to a "rep" on this forum. Lol
But yeah, I've still got my Revo. I bought a Droid 4 on Ebay so as to not lose my unlimited data. I then discovered that the Revo was still usable for everything but cellular service, so I'm still using it a bit.
It's an easy way of getting Netflix in the living room for one thing.
I'm still here too. Been trying to work on a rom but between working 6 days a week, school, getting married 2 months ago, and now a pregnant wife things have been a little crazy...
I am stuck with this phone until October. Have gotten it to run fairly stable though, VOD about once a month and a couple screen freezes a week. If I can ever finish what I'm doing I will get it posted up here.

I'm on my 2nd Revo. Now know all the tricks (RAM is precious!). Have *all* the accessories (two car docks, home dock, regular and extended spare batteries and back, wireless charging pad, and back).
I'm having trouble finding another phone I want, once I accepted the limitations:
a. must limit widgets/running apps/total apps/certain apps, in order to keep free RAM at about 80-150MB.
b. ignore aesthetics (looks, bulk, screen). This is easy for me, and I actually like the Revo.
1. RAZR Maxx HD:
- both mostly at 4.3" screen (except RAZR Maxx HD is at 4.7" when viewing videos).
- battery life similar with extended battery (but Revo can swap batteries).
- Revo has wireless charging and dedicated car and home docks, and micro SD slot.
- RAZR Maxx HD has apt-X bluetooth codec, for great music fidelity with matching apt-X headphones.
- priced at ~ $500 used.
2. Galaxy S III:
- GS III has bigger screen at price of bigger phone.
- GS III feels less robust/more prone to screen cracks due to torquing.
- GS III has apt-X codec.
- priced at ~ $500 used.
3. LG Spectrum 2:
- see GS III above, but Spectrum 2 has no apt-X, and less accessories (no LG extended battery, even).
- comes with wireless charging back.
- priced at ~$350 used.
4. RAZR M:
- M has nice, smaller form factor, but with on-screen buttons, has only 4.0" screen most of the time.
- limited storage with no micro SD slot, limited internal storage.
- non-replaceable battery.
- has apt-X codec.
- priced at ~ $350 used.
I don't want to spend ~$350 to $500 for the privilege of giving up the capabilities of wireless charging, extended battery, home dock with separate battery charger, and car dock that starts up Revo's Car Home app when Revo is inserted.

Mainly I'm trying to keep it as stock as possible. Just adding a few new governors. But the main thing is to keep voltages at stock levels. I think that might be the cause of the vod. And I'm adding swap.

HTC can really suck at times... It's pretty amazing how apparently the only ones who don't get why they are doing so poorly is them. Whereas I actually do like HTC especially for their build quality and (gasp) sense, they've really pushed me away. The only thing I give them is that the Vivid was the first nonnexus device to receive an ICS update if I remember correctly, but I don't consider that enough.
As soon as my contract is up plus when the next nexus hopefully with LTE comes out, I'm off to non contract devices from now on and switching to t-mobile to lower my family plan monthly bill by $100. Not even my unlimited data plan is enough to keep me on AT&T.

This is the reason that HTC is losing sales because consumers are buying HTC products to find out that firmware support isn't the best. The S2 is older than the Vivid and is still having a new version of Android. So the next time the person wants to buy a phone they most likely will go for sanother manufacter. If HTC wants to makes there sales beter they should start supporting there older devices a bit more.
HTC always abandons their previous devices and focuses on the new ones. I can't help but wonder if the dna and one series phones are going to get a 4.1.2 update with sense 5.
HTC basically keeps trying to reinvent themselves and cuts their losses with their previous failed products. Problem is every time they do this they are loosing customers. Samsung has gotten pretty good with updates, really they always were. Yeah it took me forever to get froyo and gingerbread on my Captivate, but that was mainly because of carrier testing that slowed it down.
