Hi all! Recently I bought P970, so I'm asking - is there any rom with switching music with volume buttons like in CyanogenMod?

uhm..
...i'm currently using FOP ICS (unofficial cm9) and it can do that, as long as you lock the phone and your screen is off, as far as i know....
...but if you take lots of photos with your phone then this isn't for you...there's a bug with the rom...

ps: if your using a different player like poweramp, make sure you activate "respond to headset buttons". then just long press the up/down volume button to change to the next/previous song

Not exactly the same, but still
for that function I used JAYS Headset Control from Google play (on GB).
Now (on ICS) I've also got better IEM's and acccept not having any buttons...

Hi
I have been looking but not much luck in finding if anyone has done the mod to long press the volume button to change song when screen off. I know the i9100 ics has a mod for it but dies anyone know if there is one for the n7000 at all or know how to do it. I attempted it but got stuck at samsung logo and wasnt sure if was doing it right anyway. Any ibfo would be good.

Thanks for a reply. I tried poweramp but for some reason didn't work. I found that rocketrom has it as a tweak in his tweakbox app so I changed to his rom and it works now for stock and s3 music player too. Not sure if his tweakbox would work on other samsung based roms.

I have an optimus 4x(just like all of us):screwy:, and the lock/unlock/power button is a bit awkward:banghead:...
All of the unlock apps present in market require pressing the power button.
Can any one developed an app/mod that will wake the phone without the use of power button!?
I myself would like try but don't know first thing about Android development. So if u lazy then please guide me in which direction to go

If you use holo locker from the market you can use the volume button to wake the screen. If that's any good?

I know this is not your inteded answer, but would't the phone be unlocked all the time? I mean, those capacitive buttons are easily pressed, even through pockets. Plus, you'd need to power them all the time which would cause some battery drain.
On the old HTC Desire S we had "Sweep2Wake" - but that requires kernel modifications AFAIK. Maybe something for the future as it was quite a nice feature, and I don't like using physical buttons to wake my phone as it wears them out too quickly.
How about smart screen off pro from play store? It uses the proximity sensors and/or the light sensors to wake up your phone by put them out of the pocket or anything else...

Hello.
You can try also "Auto Screen On" from Google Play. It works with the frontal sensor; it's perfect to have your phone turned on when getting out from your pocket. After trying similar apps, I prefer this

On my ICS Kingdroid 7.4 ROM I have all the features you are looking for working like a charm. But it's ICS though.
Yeah that's one great rom.
I now use AllianceRom, all its missing is wifi tethering notification bar toggle

Doesn't wifi tether from the play store work.
Wifi tethering works through the settings menu, I'm after the toggle for the notification bar
And unrelated im looking for popup browser with flash player, nobody seems to have ever mentioned it, I can't be the only 1 to think it would be awesome?

I use SVA rom 5.1, everything is working fine, fast, stable as rock.

This is what I use but there is no volume skip track or torch on lock screen, I need the volume rocker to change track because I have my phone in case and it would make things so much easier :/

You can use player pro app for that.it gives better exp.it also enables 3 times click on your headphones for previous

I'll thank you now, I've only just seen your post.
I've settled on Alliance Rom beta 1.1, it's only missing hotspot and torch toggles that I care about. Home button torch, volume rocker, snote, erm..... tired cant think haha almost everything I want works
I go away a week on monday for 6 months (no, not prison haha) so I'm kind of hoping come June/July Official JB would have been released and been all dev'd up by then. For the sake of a week I think I'm going to stay on Alliance, feel free to keep adding recommendations though guys. If you come across a Rom that has all 6 listed below add it here, the more the merrier
1. Volume Skip Track,
2. Hotspot, Torch Toggles,
3. Home Button Lockscreen Torch,
4. S Note/Suite by the summer hopefully lol,
5. Resizeable Windows,
6. CRT Effect On/Off without bugs....

i just tryed fixing the Headset Buttons for Razr I...
It works for one button Headsets & I need someone trying it with 3 Button headsets
here are the files that have to be copied to
/system/usr/keylayout
don't forget to set rights!!!
U'll need an App like Headset Droid to configure Buttons for Next Button!!!! NOT for Play/Pause Button!!!

Hi mate. Cool idea, have beats headphones and always wanted to make control work with motorola. Had sensation xe before and it was great to control music by headphones.

For me your mod doesn't work just recognised all 3 bottoms as "next track"
I used headset control app. Hope you'll figure it out and our headphones will be 100% useful again

As workaround you can set all things to next key first of all.just define one click as play/pause and double click as next, press and hold as volume up and reset or as ever u like. Did you thought on rebooting the phone?

The first think was, the files you provided are *. txt instead of *. kl so had to rename it. Later I replaced files and set up program for 3 bottoms, one next track one start stop track and one previous track. The problem was all 3 bottoms was recognised as "next track"
This is strange
What do you think about it?? If you have any ideas what am I doing wrong please let me know mate. Cheers

Did not work at all here
When I had my Defy, i just changed the "headsethook" entry in some file I cant remenber to "media_next" and all 3 buttons were used for that.
In Razr I cant even to that, using a keymap app when I press the buttons on my headset it won't even show up.
there is a way to enable "volume rocker?"

Mate what kind of earphones are you using?? It seems to not work with my beats headphones. They use to work with me sensation XE but motorola mess this up

I used the same headset on my defy with cm10 and it was working.

In my experience the headphone doesn't get recognized at all, while in my old defy it still do This is a handy tool to use when you're commuting. :crying:
