Walmart in Stock-but not carrying it?

As i am looking online for a 16 gb n7, i found a walmart that is says in stock online. The interesting part is that when i called the store, they said that they are not carrying that product. Should i still try to go pick it up or not. I am really confused right now.

forget Wal-mart. Staples has them, Radio Shack has them and the Google Store has them now as well.

you should give them the item number, most csr's have no clue

My local staples didn't have any but the Walmart right next door had 3 16gb in the cage.

You have to educate the CSR's of new items at Walmart. They told me today that they don't have nor do they plan on carrying it. Then they opened the stock cabinet and I pointed at it. They didn't have a display up.

I got mine last night at Walmart and there is one box only in the cage so I went to grab it right away and go home happy.

I just saw 6 nexus 7's at the Walmart near Portland, Oregon. They had zero on display but they were sitting in a glass case near other tablets.

i got mine yesterday from WM.

I just bought mine from Walmart, they had 5 more boxes in Noblesville Indiana. I tryed buying them from staples but they ran out, and GameStop for some reason won't sell me theirs, said it was for preorder only. I'm really happy with mine right now, no flaws that I can tell.

staples, gamestop, office depot, but only wallmart, looks like i will just get from the play store.

I just got mine from walmart. I would rather not pay the shipping if I didn't have to, and no other stores had them in stock I called every brick and mortar within 50 miles. Birmingham, Alabama by the way.

Funny thing about Wal-Mart, they will take back anything, no questions asked, within a year.
Funny story about the funny thing above, Okla. State Univ. recruited a bunch of European women to play on their women's soccer team a few years ago. They all went to Wal-Mart and bought everything that they needed to furnish an entire apartment. When the season and semester was over, the returned everything down to the last spatula, for cash, and flew home.
I hate Wal-Mart with a white-hot passion, but when you need something at 3am, being able to go buy it at the near by Super Center is... grudgingly... pretty cool.

Wal-Mart is about the easiest place ever to return stuff. I wouldn't hesitate at all to buying one from there.

Perfect Nexus 7 Finally!!!!
I just bought mine from walmart When I went in they didn't have any out for sale but the website said they had them in stock so I asked the sales guy and he said they had them in the back. After buying one from google play and having severe light bleed it was nice to finally see what a perfect nexus 7 looks like. It looks great no light bleed, no dead pixels, no bad wifi and touch is responsive and colors don't look washed out, feels solid. I also got their 2 year protection for $20.00 it covers anything. So anyone with doubts about walmart might wanna give them a try.

NEEDED: Intel courtesy of someone who works for Wal-Mart.
The inventory information on the Wal-Mart.com that is accessible to the public runs two weeks behind. If you check today for Wal-Mart No.550756186 (the 16gb Nexus 7) it gives you store inventory as of 7/15/2012 (two weeks ago). Searching it for the dozen stores in/near 74105 (Tulsa, OK) shows that all 12 normally carry it, but are out of stock as of 7/15/2012. Well, no****, Sherlock. No Wal-Mart in America had any on 7/15, so this really just tells me that the stores should have it or get some soon. Based on reports in this thread that people are finding them in stock at their local Wal-Mart stores, I went to one here and called five others. None reported having any, but I'm not sure that they made much of an effort to search.
Surely someone who actually worked for Wal-Mart could access inventory info that's much closer to real time (like 24hrs or less). It sure would be nice if someone would tell us what to expect and which Wal-Mart's should have them.
For me, the cost of shipping is typically about the same as sales tax ($16 on the $200 model; $20 on the $250). All things considered, I'd prefer to buy from a local Wal-Mart, have the benefit of no questions asked one year returns and be able to buy a $20 covers nearly everything two year extended warranty. For me, this is preferable to $25 in Google Play credit.
Someone here woks for Wal-Mart, probably. C'mon, help a brother out.

Checked Walmart.com yesterday and found a few Walmart in Omaha, NE that had some. I promptly went and picked one up because everywhere else is out of stock.

I just ordered mine on the Walmart.com site and it was ready within a few hours. When I went in to pick it up, they said they still had about 12 more in the back. So it seems there may be some truth behind the Walmart Availability. Although, it wasn't displayed in the electronics department yet. Good Luck!

Smart Dock Shenanigans

I've been on the phone and in live chat with Samsung 3 separate times over the last 2 weeks, trying to get an answer about when the Smart Dock is going to be in stock. As we all know, it is listed as 'back ordered' on their website right now. Nobody can give me an answer, which is frustrating. What I am hoping is that they aren't going to hold out releasing until the 50% off coupon expires, which they very well could do. The fact that they can't be found anywhere (not even eBay) tells me that the only ones that are in the wild are review units, and that they have not even officially 'released' anything yet.
Anyone have any information to share on the subject of the Smart Dock?

I saw one at a Sprint store but no discount. I am in the same boat as you, waiting for Samsung.

Wondering if it's vaporware, myself.
Would believe it was seen at a sprint store if I saw a photo of it for sale.
It's not unusual for mfrs to create buzz for products and never release them, and cell phone accessories are among the most notoriously over-hyped and never-delivered. I don't even care about a discount - $100 isn't crazy for an HDMI-out and 3 USB ports all in one compact unit. Granted I'd love it at $50 but just think what Motorola would charge for this device and you'll feel better.

I've had one on backorder, but I've not yet passed the two week threshold. For what it's worth, Verizon has them in stock online: [Click!] I don't know about in stores when the Note II releases with them, though.

Well, I ordered a couple of hours ago from Verizon, and my status already says 'shipped', although they have not provided a tracking number yet. So if you are looking for a Smart Dock and are willing to pay full price, it appears that Verizon is the place to go!

Since one issue I've seen identified with this is that you need to install an app to force the phone into landscape to take advantage of a HDTV display, I wonder if you could stick a TecTile to the back of the dock and set it to force landscape.
Thanks for the tip - if it's really available from VZW that's temping, though I've got an Amazon credit just sitting there. Keep us posted.

Does anybody know when the dock will be released in the UK? Seems to be no word on the web.

Galaxy s4 was available at my local sprint store this morning

I reserved the Galaxy s4 at my local Sprint store on Monday. Walked in today and they had 8 available. So needless to say, you might want to check your local Sprint store to see if they had any shipments because mine did. By the way I returned the HTC One for this phone and I couldn't be happier.

Sprint won't be my carrier but if they have them in store I would stop by just to check out the phone in person, assuming they have one for display.

Our 2 local sprint stores and BB all got the Sprint S4's in today. I almost bought one, but they would not match the online price of $149 that I could get on sprint.com by adding a new line. So I came home and ordered one up instead. $100 is a $100. But it was nice to play with one in the store a bit before making the final decision.

Wait, what? I thought Sprint delayed all of the S4s. When I called BB about my pre-order yesterday to see if it was affected, all I got was that it wasn't in yet and they wouldn't get any sort of an ETA because of them using drop shipment to (supposedly) get it there faster. I may have to drop in today and see what's up with that. >.>
Edit: Just did so. According to the rep I spoke with, Samsung only shipped the ATT phones. All other carriers' S4s have yet to show up. Anyone else running into something similar?

We went into the Sprint store shortly after they opened on Saturday just to see if they might have received any. I'd heard the delayed rumors too, so was not shocked when they said no. Mgr said he'd got an email the night before saying they might try to scrape a few together and get them there, so check back later. Basically the same story at the BB store 2 blocks away. Called later in the day and the Sprint store had them in. So I went in and played with it for a while. When they could not price match the web price, we went over to BB. They had also received the phones but would not match the price either.
All were Sprint phones, both colors, 16gb. They are getting delivered for retail sales, at least in some areas. Guaranteed. You can call the Sprint or BB stores in Rogers and Bentonville Arkansas to confirm it, if you'd like. They may all be sold out by now as there were folks lined up to look at them, but they had them for a while yesterday, at the least. I had a black one in my hands and ready to buy until the ad match snafu came up.

Sprint stores in NJ had them...but the store by me only had 6, 3 white / 3 black...I walked in after 3hrs of them being opened and they still had 4.

Haha your first paragraph was just be way my several went at one of my local corporate store I reserved a handset at. But when I called a friend at another corporate location just a few towns south of me, she said she had a huge supply but we're running low rapidly. And even at 10:15am the store was PACKED! So in turn, I had a feeling that some stores may have some supply. Which was exactly what happened. Funny, cause the 2 BB stores in Mt area have the Samsung booths. Neither were displaying anything. Which I thought was unusual, cause even though there is a delay, I would have thought that they would at least wanna show Em off

I got mine! 4.2.2 is alot different. Menu's have more to it. Overall I am liking the GS4. Bigger screen, smoother and faster than my GS3. I cant wait until a solid root is out there and for Ktoons OC kernel to come out! I can see this thing rocking 2.5 GHZ with it's quad core! My Quadrant score is already 12,772 stock, so I'm thinking 18,000 is possible!

Spoke to a sprint employee on the 24th(after they stopped taking pre-orders) and was told they'd only get enough S4s to satisfy pre orders and then would have to wait for "a week or so" for a shipment of S4s for the general public. So I preordered from amazon and they said they'd ship the today and deliver May 1st. But yesterday I called local sprint stores and 3rd one I called said they had one left in white. Amazon preorder cancelled shortly their after . Any way what I took away from this fro any one still looking for S4s is that some sprint stores have general public stock but generally the bigger stores closer to downtown (I'm in Houston). The stores that only have pre order stock just don't know what the hell they are talking about .

I'm in Houston too and got mine from the Westpark store. They had plenty of them. Like 50 or so! Don't know about today though.....

I must have gotten lucky, because I ordered mine online from Sprint Saturday the 28th in the afternoon (pst), and received a shipping notification Sunday at 10AM and received my shipment Monday morning at 9:45 AM. Needless to say I was happily shocked

I was able to use Upgrade Now for $100 fee. They bought my cracked E4GT for $64. They said they had 13 white and 8 black.

Well done Google for looking after previous customers. I am waiting for the white to hit the UK store can't wait. No free bumper currently on the UK store for the black product so I guess the store may see the update next week.

I order another Nexus 4 on the 30th and they just told me the promotion started the 31st of May so I didn't qualify but they said they would look into it. Thanks for the tip though!

Just called them and they refuse to send me one since I purchased a black phone. Clearly in their FAQ and shows you get a black bumper free if you bought a black phone, or a white one, if you purchased the white version. I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor and I was transferred, rudely told the same thing. I explained that if I could just get a simple $20 refund, it'd be so much more easier on both ends than for us to have to ship items back and forth to one another.
They are offering me the option to return the phone and bumper I purchased just 3 days ago, minus shipping costs, and a 15% re-stocking fee. I'll be spending more money to just get a "free bumper" so forget it.
Google's customer service in comparison to amazon's is quite horrible. I can't believe they didn't offer me promotional credit to google play, or something in return for this unfortunate situation. With Amazon, if a situation like this ever occurred, they'd at least give me MP3 credit for a few songs, or extend my prime membership by a month.

I'm in the same boat as you, with the same issue and conclusion you came to. Even though I like the phone, this is thievery on google's part. Also it was rather asinine to not be able to just refund the purchase price of the bumper.

About to engage costumer support to see who the victor is, my device arrived on the 31st so I may be able to pull some bs based on that :cyclops:
Also I don't think they should be giving bumper refunds for any reason, as I see it is either you should get a bumper or not and I think we should.

But are they making any more by giving away free bumpers to everyone now? Would they really lose any less by "giving" ones out to people who were unlucky and purchased the phone and bumper separately just days before this promotion?
I feel kind of screwed out of $20 since I just bought the phone a few days ago and they're not offering me any feasible solution.

I purchased it in India in a local shop, Google don't sell N4 via play store in India. It's LG who is selling it, So will I get free bumper ??

No, I agree with you. Certainly it depends on the timing of when the Nexus 4 was bought but, speaking from the perspective of someone who works in customer service, these are the types of calls I hate fielding. Why should a company have to compensate you for something you didn't qualify for? There's a certain point where it becomes entitlement and I hate that.

While I agree to some extent, they need to offer a better solution to those who bought the phone and bumper at the same. My gripe is not with getting the free case but seeing that i bought both i should at least be refunded the price of the bumper. Its was literally a day before the promotion, and they want to charge restocking fees, preposterous. In the end I'm not totally up in arms about it, because both are quality made products, its more of the timing.

Is T-Mobile giving the bumper away too?

Back In stock with Netflix offer at best buy?

Back in stock at best buy online and stores are getting shipments (two local stores to me have gotten two shipments of 5-10 each this week) - though they sold out within minutes..
But ordered from best buy and it still lists Netflix and on the order has Netflix listed as its own sku.
Hopefully it's still valid

I just got my 2nd one today from in store best buy and got another Netflix code.
Does anyone know if you can combine the codes for 6 months? It seems as though you would since the code says it applies credit to your account, so redeeming another code should just add more credit to the account.

Call first!!! Said same for me but I called and all were sold out.. They said it takes a few hr to update online..

Thanks for the heads up.

even going into the store, some employees didn't know it came in. the door person said they didn't have any. the TV section guy said they didn't have any. walked by an aisle and saw a display of them.
if you're close enough, waste the gas to drive and check yourself.
