[Q] Home , back buttons lights won't work ? Is it normal ? - HTC Desire C

I got a desire c yesterday and was shocked not having the lights working in the home and back etc buttons.
Sent from my Wildfire S A510e using xda app-developers app

This Is normal they didn't put lights on them for some reason but the buttons are well spaced apart so it's easy to know which one your pressing in the dark.

It's missing config in the sys/class/leds, I think there is no such file to enable it using echo 1.

Do you think that we have the lights but they are not enabled because of missing config ?! I was searching the issue online earlier and HTC replied to many users that they didn't put lights in the device in the first place :what:

I dont actually think there any lights beneath the front face on the Desire C. So adjusting / Creating the file may not actually do anything.

lol go for it, bricked device acoming! ^__^, joking, maybe not quite that bad but, be warned for some strange side effects and i dont think there are any back lights on the kepyads

I think so also, the wfs had the soft key light bleeding out if you look at it from a certain angle, this phone doesn't! And I don't mind bricking my device, I'm upgrading to a One S sooner or later!

cover the 2 sensors on the top left with a piece of folded paper or something, do they light up?
Ah yes .. I'm sat under a bright light doooh thank you
Thought my home and back was faulty . It sometimes is less responsive than other times (double tap to get multi apps ) but I'm presuming that's a software glitch
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Others are reporting issues with the buttons sometimes not responding, not sure if it's a software glitch, or just a small footprint for the buttons, ie you have to press right on the button and not in the general area if you know what i mean.
Cool I'll relax then and stop worrying my phone is faulty. Big thanks
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I would monitor how you go with pressing the buttons, it may be a glitch, but i know when i'm using mine, i am often off the button when i press it, being used to the One X for the last year, the buttons are further to the edge, so automatically i have been pressing further out than the actual buttons are.
I always turn mine off. Just saying lol

The capacitive area is in fact VERY small. Just barely bigger than the Home and Back icons themselves. Precision touch is required and is why I suspect some think its not responsive

Try this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39498430&postcount=7
Seems that the One has very small area of touch for buttons, so probably not software problem.
Turn on vibrate and you will realise how small of an area we have .. seems the way it's been designed and not a bug . Vibrate assists because you know when your missing now don't have the issue

Possible fix for unresponsive capacitive buttons?

Seems to me this is really working, could you please try and post in here how's it working? Also mention your fw revision.

For the lazy, it's as simple as disabling vibration in sound>vibration on touch.

I've had vibration disabled since day 1 and still had problems.
After the latest update (1.29.401.12) I have not experienced any issues with the capacitive buttons. It's much more responsive.

I have had problems with the capacitive buttons until I installed a custom Rom with the .13 base.
Much much better. I honestly dont have issues anymore. Before it would happen all too frequently.
I am with Rogers in Canada and I can't be bothered to wait for them to push an update.

I have had the vibrate off since day one and I still have problems. I'm unlocked with root on stock rom so hopefully AT&T can get the update out. Sounds like it's a software issue.

You are mean't to turn it on, click your button and go back and turn it off (the vibration), then it should be fine after that (until a reboot). It's worked for me.
That pic is extremely clear. I'm using a RAZR and get nothing like that. Nice

Problem with HTC picking call

Hey guys I have a HTC one and due to its feather touch the phone call gets cancelled or connected in my pocket itself. Ian not sure what to do right now so any help would be great. I would like to pickup my phone without any problems. Thanks

How does the phone move about so much in your pocket that it gets to slide the Answer Call button?? You need new pants bro
I'm impressed of forum.xda-developers.com , I need to say. Really not often do I encounter a phorum that's each educative and entertaining, and let me inform you, you have got hit the nail on the head. Your concept is outstanding; the difficulty is one thing that not sufficient people are speaking intelligently about. I'm very blissful that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for something regarding this.

Touching doesn't answer calls. To answer phone calls screen lock you have to drag the Answer Call button. So you probably have the screen on while in your pocket.
It's not drag for my HTC One don't know why would I require to lock with pass?

Nope, I don't have any lockscreens active. Mine is touch to answer only when the screen is on and unlocked, other wise I have to drag the Answer button to the middle to answer.
Don't know why even if i touch in the slightest it accepts call

I tried to change the touch and hold delay option to medium or even long, but nothing happen since this problem still made me crazy a lot. Does anyone else have the same problem with me that just tap anywhere on the screen to answer or end call in some case without slide the answer icon, I'm so crazy because most time I put my cell phone in the pocket.

It will be my pleasure if you can show me how to fix this problem, I tried with some modification in accessibility option but nothing happened. I think that many other people have the same problem with me and be waiting for your help.
firstly in accessibility make it long touch and i then am using a cover.Other options could be rooting and going to a different rom but i would never root my device but,if u are into rooting then u could try it.

Yes I have that same problem and find it extremely annoying. Same with unlocking it..just the slightest touch on the screen anywhere and it unlocks. Might as well not have a lock screen if its that easy 2 unlock. I want to have to slide the lock icon up to unlock. For answer/decline call its just touch answer or touch decline, no sliding anything. Id prefer the sense 4.1 lock screen with the ring
EDIT: Has nothing to do with short/long touch. I found that turning off accessibility services solves the lock screen problem. Don't know about calls yet. Haven't tested that. Only the lock icon would move, now they all do as they should and just touching the screen doesn't unlock it anymore. Have to slide up to unlock as it's suppose to be

Thank for your quick reply. Firstly, I found that changing the touch delay option in accessibility become longer does not change anything.Secondly, I do not really want to you cover since I used the 1st cellphone until now. Therefore this problem is hard to fix until root my cellphobe. But the same with you, I think that I do not need to root my phone for this stupid reason. Just like you guys, I just hope HTC also quickly realize this problem soon and give some fix bugs in the next update. Anyway, thank for you help!

Simulate battery pull problem

Has anyone else had trouble doing simulated battery pull? Ive done it before but when I just went to try it, it gets to 1 sec and doesnt reboot. Even held 30 secs longer and nothing. Anyone have any idea why that is? Will it only allow simulated battery pull when phone freezes?

Weird how the proximity sensor can effect the powering on/off of a device. Never had that probem before. Then again Ive only owned one other phone without a removable battery. Had the htc 4g lte for a short time before getting this htc one. Is this just a software "glitch" that could be fixed with an software update or something in the htc one hardware?

Sad part is, wasnt long ago I read somewhere on xda how someone was told to do the bright light when they couldnt get their phone to power on and it worked. Never dawned on me to try that to restart it..well simulate battery pull anyways. Never seems to restart (maybe Im just impatient lol) without pressing power to get it to boot back up.

Could be but i don't think so. I'm using very thin case that is pretty loose around volume button so it could have caused marks on the phone but it still protects a button itself from being damaged. Also marks are above the button but paint comes off from the bottom of the button
