Google Wallet for the HTC ONE.
-Easy fix for viper Rom
-Should work on stock rooted w/ wp . -removed Kernal
-Always save your original build.prop before modifying
Using Rom Toolbox
1. Open up build.prop editor
2. Change the following values
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro
3. Save changes
4. Reboot device, install wallet and open
-wallet takes a couple minutes to initialize so be patient, it works great!
5. Restore your original build.prop
This method should work fine on stock rooted also as long as you have a kernal with /system wp removed.
Also, if you don't want Rom toolbox you can navigate to /system/build.prop and open the file in any text editor to make the changes.

Hey does this affect the camera in any kind of way? Like the face cam. I know there was an issue with the tint of the cam. It had a red tint on the evo lte when we started doing this in the beginning.

Honestly I'm not sure where I got it. I believe that it came from Viperrom. Duce says that it wasn't added in d3rpONE (I noticed mine working while I was on d3rpONE, but I think something restored it from viperrom), and the only other ROM that I've run is Viper's.

ah i see. think you could send me the apk? seems like you probably restored your apps+system data from d3rp rom to viper, as im running viperrom too and not seeing any wallet app.
Here's the link for the working (non-modified) Wallet apk that I use, with screenshot showing it on my One.
https://www.4shared.com/download/NJgEOM_0/Wallet_16-R96-v16.apk
Just install the apk normally through a file explorer, no need to push with ADB, or do anything in recovery. I uninstalled mine and tested just to be sure.

I tried that, but when it starts up, it says that "Google Wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile network."
I'm on AT&T.
(I guess I'm in the wrong group? I had it running on my AT&T Nexus S just fine, but I really wanted to upgrade
Think rooting would help overcome the problem of being on AT&T? Not sure why it worked on my Nexus S, since it was on AT&T too... I may have bought it as an unlocked phone, originally...
Not sure if there's any difference in support between carriers. Sorry

I actually had another OTA update out of nowhere. The version is still technically 7.2.1, but it went from 7.2.1_user_2030320 to 7.2.1_user_2040020.

I have not move/rename. I actually want the updates to see how they affect the system, as long as they don't fix the root exploit. The reason I was annoyed is because I didn't notice it was an update until about the third time I flashed a backup and looked closer. Now I can make a backup of that version. By the way check out the android development section, Hashcode has figured out a way to bypass the locked bootloader

I received the same update - first I was confused, why my root was gone while it still having the 7.2.1 on, because I couldn't remember what was written after user_*** I wondered what happend - but thanks to that post now I understand.
Next to the lost of root, Amazon (which don't like us playing) turned back the permissions on the dtcp_apk.apk what brought the adds on the lockscreen back. They probably just pushed a new version of this file.
Yes, I just downloaded root checker and confirm my root is gone as well. The good news is that Google play is still working. My problem is how they pushed that updated without requiring user approval. This looks like a violation of our privacy rights. I'm going to research this further.

Sky go doesn't let me use it on a rooted device. No idea why they are so picky about jailbroken or rooted devices, bit daft imo

I used OTA Rootkeeper on my Nexus 7 with Sky Go and it worked fine, esentially temp unroot, and then use 'Root Checker' to see if your phone is actually unrooted. Make sure you fully close the Sky Go app and then try, it works for me. I'll test on my One and post the results in a bit
Edit: Just tried it, didn't work I'm afraid, hopefully another solution will appear soon!
Try this, it's what I have to do to get time warner live tv to work.
Go into system/app and rename superuser to SuperSU.
Next, go into the build.prop and there should be something that says build tags. It should say under that, "release-keys". Delete the words release-keys, leaving that part blank. Reboot. Should work if it's the same root checks as time warner.

Typically, system apps can't install by conventional methods (although there are a few exceptions, Google Maps being one of them). You have to use a file manager to push the file to /system/app as listed above, and be sure to set the permissions. The permissions should match the rest of the apks in the folder.
If you don't know how to get the permissions to match the other files, then check the permissions of another apk that does match, and use the same layout.

I also wonder if this is a symptom of the Unlocking process. I just got my M8 yesterday and have not Unlocked it yet and I have a Calculator App. All I've done is set it up and restore a HTC backup from my old EVO LTE. It even restored my homescreen to exactly how it was on my old phone, including widgets, which was convenient. Calculator is sitting right there on my homescreen where it usually is, and it works.
that's odd, I had the calculator before and after unlocking and rooting........

You can also install it through ADB (or `pm` from a terminal emulator), that'll directly give you the exact error.
