[Q] which OS is best for my samsug gaaxy s plus device - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi.
I have ICS vesion on my samsung galaxy s plus device.
Initially i had andriod 2.3 gingerbread version on this device but i fnd the same problem in both OSs.
my applications are getting too often slower ad unable to work.
It sometimes delays in even call receiving.
Guide me please which OS is most suitable fo m device.

OS is the wrong name for it. Basically they're two versions of the same OS and its not a question of which version you have, but which rom you use. In your case try and use a slim rom.

No, you can only use android. Try CM10.1, that is always good. I'm not sure about kernels though because I have a normal S1, not the plus version.

guide plz

Anyone else can help me?

Hi,
try Ivendors CM10 RC2.5 with the new CastagnaIT Kernel. Then you have about 380MB free Ram. My S+ runs with that combi really smooth.
The Battery drain is for me the same as with GB.

firstly welcome to android
secondly if you had actually read and understood the forum rules you would have done a search
thirdly the search would have shown you that the last person that made a post like this one got a warning from a moderator and the thread was closed

The best rom is the original rom You can root your s3 mini, and change how you want
Bear in mind that this is one of the forbidden questions in XDA..

The 'best rom' is down to what you want...I use Benz Rom personally as it offers the best of what I want. All Roms are different, best thing to do is flash a few until you find the one you're happy to use.

There is no general answer.
Every custom has it´s advantages.
Make a Nandroid Backup, download several Custom ROMs and test them.
You will see which one is the best for you.

Thank you again willi9070! Finaly I decided for I9070XXLQE, can't say why, i guess I9070DXAMD1 gave me a little of fear for locales complications, but who knows.
Have to say it works like a charm on my i9070, even more, took my instaled apps and I wasn't forced to do factory reset (I made it anyways).
I like Samsung for this kind of things, it's hard to think migrate to other manufacturer like Motorola. I guess may be HTC, but mean while Samsung keep openmind and close to developers I will remain using his products.
:good:
I use it...nothing to say, just like other JB rom

The phones have nothing in common just the name - Samsung's stupid like that. To port a rom you'll need to make sure both phones have same screen size and same cpu as starting guidelines. Try finding a phone that's similar to yours.

The main reason is because OEM Roms (specifically Touchwiz, Sense, Xperia UI) require heavily on OEM specific hardware, framework and kernel to function correctly.
Those OEM roms are closed source and without them, it will be very difficult for developers to write compatible driver, kernels (that function in conjunction with framework) to other samsung phones; yet alone a phone from a different manufacture.
In that regard, if a rom was ported over, the only functioning thing would probably be the touchscreen and nothing else.

Refer to this link. There are different ROMs for different users, they can' t start a rumble and go for the best. One man's ROM is another man's paperweight.

This is because there is always a person asking for best rom/kernel in here, which is tiring to manage. I suggest you do what I did, root your stock phone and use it for a while. In the meantime, read through threads on problems encountered by other users and take note of their solutions. There are plenty of threads on how to change from custom and stock ROMs, these are the ones you are more likely to receive support from.

If you don't want to brick your device and don't want to care to READ then please stay on a stock rom.
