Please help me keep track of replacement parts for this phone. So far I have found:
LCD + Digitizer
OEM Battery Samsung
OEM Battery from eTrade(cheaper)
2A OEM Charger
Rear Housing Sapphire
Rear Housing Grey
Back Camera Module
Flex cable with SIM holder and wireless charging pins
Flex cable with charging port and mic
How to take it apart
Do this at your own risk, remember that you have 1 year warranty, you should first try getting samsung or AT&T to replace.
Would be great if a replacement back was available. I contacted Samsung and they said one is not available and do not have an ETA when it will be.

Even though it's not directly from Samsung, this battery is from the same website as the LCD + Digitizer and it only costs $15. It might be worth posting.

Only one way to find out
If you can get a replacement housing and a s4 camera sensor and then mod them together... I would use some type of sealant and put it around the edge of the sensor and take a drop of water and see if it gets past the housing. Of course do this before putting your system board in the housing... Just as a test. Not sure if it is worth it to you but if we could successfully mod the S4 camera on the active and keep water proof I think most active users will do it. It appears that samsung thought about using the 13 mp sensor but changed their minds because of supply demands.
If I had some extra money I would give it a shot. But my wife would get mad for me tossing out around 30-50 bucks for just a chance of a working mod. any unmarried people out there willing to try?

Well my girlfriend just dropped her HTC First that she got less than a month ago on our linoleum floor and the screen completely spider-webbed. And when I say "completely" I mean the ENTIRE screen. The "gorilla glass" they supposedly put on this phone is more like fine China. It didn't even land on the actual screen....
Anyway, are there any replacement screens out for this thing yet? I know it just came out and my question will most likely fall on deaf ears but figured I would give it a go. Also a disassembly guide would be beneficial as well.
Thanks in advance

dude first of all gorilla glass only protects against scrachs not falls and not yet for the screen there ain't any around so be more careful with ur newly purchased phones
2 feet onto some soft linoleum should cause this type of damage I'm sorry. I've dropped my HTC one x onto the corner of a vice at work directly onto the screen and nothing happened. And also, the so called "insurance that we have said it would be 199$ to fix it and HTC gave me a quote of 150$ to fix it. Nice to know everyone stands behind the quality of some products.....
How about you tell my girlfriend to be more careful with her newly purchased phone? Wont really help too much at this point.

very carefully lol theres a video for the htc one xl that shows how to separate them but there is a disclaimer not to do it if you are not a pro. You can try and see if a repair store will do it for you if you bring them the parts or wait till they sell them in one piece.

Hey,
I'm happy to be a new HTC First broken screen owner now.
But since the glass is partially crumbling, wouldn't it be easier to separate it from the LCD ? Anybody has successfully repair his First ?
(For the little story, it was one of the first time I ever drop a phone in my life -_-)
UPDATE: parts4repair.com sells fully working parts!
I have recently replaced the DC In (charger port) board, and as many have experienced, I am having severe degradation of cellular reception.
Obviously the 'OEM' part that I have purchased isn't a real OEM, of this wouldn't be happening.
I am now posting this thread in hope that I can be directed to a seller in the United States that has ACTUAL Samsung factory parts, so I can fix this phone properly.
If you don't have an answer to where I could buy either (1) an actual Samsung part for a reasonable price or (2) a non Samsung part that won't degrade my cellular quality, then please don't respond.
Thank you
call several service centres of samsung if they have the part, and how it costs.
Or order from parts4repair.com, I think noone has had a broken one from there as of yet.

Im in the USA. Would that shop ship here?
I have ordered this part from TWO separate people now, each shipped from China. Both of them i lose 1/2 of my cellular reception.
I wouldn't even care about losing reception, but here where my house is in Los Angeles Suburb, I barely get reception, so before with the original part I had only 1-2 bars. Now, i struggle just to get any reception. (0 bars)
I just want a REAL samsung part. its like pulling my teeth trying to find one
Even if a company or a member claims that they'll give you an original part, you'll never be sure of it until you test it in your device and get your old reception quality.
So I assume that it would be easier (but sadly more expensive) to get it repaired by Samsung.

I would be willing to consider that, but unfortunately Samsung USA refuses to repair any non-US phones. I just got off the phone with them a couple hours ago.
I just ordered 3 more boards from all different people via amazon.com... Hopefully one of them will be OK...luckily they are only $7-8 each... One is called 'refurbished' so hopefully it will be a part pulled from a device instead of a new Chinese manufacture. Otherwise I don't know what to do at this point.

I hate this policy.
But since yesterday when I read about the "new" trick with regional limited devices Samsung became a no-go-company for me.
I need to switch without limitations between Thai and German Sim cards for our Samsung devices. Samsung doesn't want this anymore. So I do not want Samsung anymore.
Luckily I switched already to the Nexus 7 and I am very happy with it until now (big screen, no bloat, 1-day-battery life without any restrictions, fast, and now with a bluetooth keyboard and fitting cover it is nearly perfect).
Good luck with your orders.

Be Sure to take the white part off BOTH sides of the sticky conductive tape so that it adheres to the METAL PART of the phone frame when you install it...

You can try something in the meantime but it probably won't work, but some report it does. Take the tape from the original and put it in the same place on the replacement.

Apparently there are some leatherette replacement bands for the Gear in addition to the original 5-6 colors. My friend says a local ATT store has them on display and they go for between $30-$50 dollars. Apparently you take off the 2 screws on each side and replace the band. Did a google/YouTube/Samsung search but could not find anything. He will get pixs and I will post on Sat when I see him.
Just wondering but still looking for yellow or orange Gear to exchange my mocha one for.

The strap in an integral part of the watch and not consumer replaceable. This is due to the camera also the speaker both being housed on the strap. The cost would be prohibitive taking into account labour cost, new strap and transport fees IF, and it is a massive if, the consumer could do that it would, without fail, void the warranty.
The guy forgot to take the pics so I will go sometime this week and look at them.

I have confirmed the band's are not interchangable as a certified technician it would be a task. The screws remove the face and a gasket seals the frame and has a thin cable into the body of the watch. I stopped about halfway for risk of damaging the watch. So I call BS here.

man... to be honest... I completely understand your felling and frustration... even a small imperfection like this can make me crazy too. In my case I always inspect the screen looking for dead pixels (I usually install dead pixels app from the store)... and I have returned many phones because of this. In my case I always inspect the screen looking for dead pixels (I usually install dead pixels app from the store)... and I have returned many phones because of this. (Including Note 3) In other words... like you mentioned... is your money, and if you are not 100% happy... return it... better live a week or 2 without the Note 4 than a year or more with the problem in your mind every single day...

So you have the same issue too? Ya if I didn't spend so much on this, I wouldn't make such a big fuzz.

I just checked mine and the earpiece doesn't have this defect. It would bother me also.

Just checked my white note 4. The speaker on mine is fine. I'd return it if I were you.
It looks like assembly problem. It appears that your speakers grill sits on top of foam gasket (this would be a reason why it springs back).

That sucks and I still don't get why online and their stores are separate. One thing I liked about AT&T is being able to return to store even if I ordered online.

Thanks guys. Glad to know it's not on all of them. I don't mind waiting a few days for a replacement. I'm on the phone with them now. But ya, I also hate that I have call if I bought online. And if I buy at a store, it has to be the same type store, meaning if I bought at a corporate store, I have to go another corporate store.
UPDATE: Ok they had to reorder me a new phone (black). It wasn't out of stock so they are going to ship it to me overnight at no charge and will get it on Wednesday. As usual, they are charging me for the new one and will refund the charges on the 1st phone when they receive it back.

Beautiful. So you get a second phone before I even get my first? Sounds good.
They need to make orders upgradeable mid shipment.

I guess I got lucky the 2nd time around.
Not quite sure how UPS works but with FedEx ground it cannot be changed either once it ships. If it was express then they can switch between next day, 2nd and 3 days.

Got my replacement today and I'm happy to report that it doesn't have the same issue. And is perfectly flushed against the glass.

Use this thread to share vendors that have either sold you good batteries or bad ones. I have completed a battery swap in my N6 and the process is really rather easy assuming you have all the correct tools. The process from start to new battery installation can be found here:
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nexus+6+Battery+Replacement/35878
One thing to add that is not listed in the guide is to make sure to preshape the battery to match that of the factory installed battery. If this is not done, it could impact functionality of the phone such as camera not working and also the flash. The battery is rather soft and is easy to manipulate into the correct curvature.
The battery that I have installed is a Motorola battery that was sold by the following eBay vendor:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/232047178752
I have only tested this battery for a full day and 2 charge cycles. I will update this post if the battery doesn't end up working out.

Has anybody found a good source for replacement batteries? I see them listed on amazon and eBay for around $25. I've read some mixed reviews.

I bought and installed this one last week:

It has identical markings to the original battery and seems to be working great so far.

No issues at all. Installed it last Friday and it charges all the way up and seems to last better than the original ever did (I bought the phone used a year ago).
Alright I purchased it. Hopefully I get the same results

Actually I did have an issue with my camera not working after initially installing it but now I'm sure that it was caused by the actual installation then the battery.
If you do change your your battery make sure you take note of exactly how it's mounted. The new battery comes flat but the battery sits in the phone with a bit of curvature to it. My problem resolved itself, assuming the battery settled into place and allowed the camera module to contact the board properly.
Well I wish you had said that earlier. ? Guess I will have to take my time and be thorough. Besides the basic plastic pry tools and mini torx, what else do I need? Is there any adhesion materials that need to be replaced?

Like I said, I think it was my lack of attention to details that caused my issue. I had a bought a new back cover a few weeks ago that came with new adhesive already on it, but you can buy just the adhesive. Here is a link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/141334618840
Though at the price you will pay for just the adhesive, a couple $ more will get you a brand new back cover. Just do some searching and you may find it cheaper, I just shared one of the first results.
I'll be following this breakdown in case anybody else is looking into it. I'll report if it's accurate after I complete the swap.

Looking forward to hearing your results. Did you also order a replacement back cover?

No I did not find the need to do so. My back cover has seen minimal daylight outside of a case.

According to the link I posted about the breakdown to replace the battery, it didn't mention it so I will tackle that issue if it becomes a problem. Hopefully it's not an issue.

I just replaced my battery 24 hours ago with this one (did a frame swap and battery replacement)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231879248130
I haven't had any problems yet. I'm glad I read this thread and sort of prebent the battery. I didn't have an issue with the camera or flash not working. I did strip 4 screws, but they came out with a t4 bit. I reused my blue back, even though I switched my frame for the silver one. I reheated it back up and I've been running without a case for 24 hours and it hasn't come off yet.
Did you use heat to prebend the battery?

No I just bent edges slightly like the original battery. I didn't want to bend it too much and ruin it
