S4a much slower than S3 in some cases?! - Galaxy S 4 Active General

Hello,
I have both devices on my desk, and despite of the great Snapdragon 600 and 2 GB of RAM there are some important (for me!) apps, that work definitely faster on the S3 so far:
MX Player: The same .mkv videos play very smooth on the S3, at about only 20% CPU use according to "Cool Tool". On the S4a, it needs about 80-90% CPU and it´s not smooth and shows noticeable microstutters. Anybody who experienced that?
Osmand (very good OSM Maps for outdoor activity): S4a needs a looot more time to draw the same map-area with all Details, than on the S3. Ok, S4a has higher screen solution, but hey, what´s the Snapdragon 600 good for?! (Maps on both devices located in internal SD of course!)
But of course, you take sdvantage of the 2GB RAM as the S4a switches very fast between apps.
Hm...together with the wider-angled camera and much higher display contrast, which under bright sun makes it almost up for the brighter screen of the S4a, I´m almost up to send back the S4a and keep my old S3... :crying:

Silly question but I'll ask for verification, since I never owned an S3, do you have "Power Saving" mode on in the S4? That will slow it down.

According to benchmarks that I and others have been doing recently (not that Quadrant is the best damned benchmark there is, and it really does need some significant updates but that's another thread altogether), the GS4A is working precisely as it should be. With Antutu the results are somewhat stable (as of the 4.0.2 Antutu update from a day ago), and again it's providing results that are where they should be.
For Quadrant I'm getting 12,000+ scores now that Safestrap is detecting and initializing all for cores properly (whereas before it wasn't and the scores were in the 8,000 to 9,000 range), and with Antutu where I was getting scores in the 22,000 to 23,000 range they're now pushing almost 28,000 - yesterday I did a test after a reboot and got 27,958 which is my highest score to date.
(and realize these are "stock" speed results, we still don't have overclocking yet because of the locked bootloader and stock kernel on the I537 AT&T model which I and many others have hence the necessity of using Safestrap - thank you again, Hashcode).
So for me, I've yet to encounter issues with the GS4A I have, not one worth complaining about or even considering selling it. But then again I got mine for $100 on craigslist and I haven't been anything but loving it so far.
I use MX Player (which I finally bought a few days ago after using the free version for nearly 2 years now), plays everything I throw at it without skipping a beat (or a frame for that matter). You may be trying to play items that aren't being hardware accelerated properly on the GS4A - make sure you enable the HW+ decoder (in MX Player under Settings - Decoder) which is the best way to handle decoding content with that app.
As for the others, I can't say for sure. If you're running a pure stock ROM then perhaps running a custom one might alleviate some of the issues you're mentioning. It's entirely possible you could have a defective GS4A as well - but I've used a GS3 before and the first time I used a GS4A (even before owning one) I noticed a huge difference in performance even on the demo model I was testing out in an AT&T store: the GS4A just left the GS3 in the dust, basically (and the GS4A is built to work in dust, go figure...).
I don't know which specific GS4A you have (International I9295 or AT&T I537) so... check into the custom ROM thing - for the I9295 there are several available but for the I537 we're still stuck with just the AOSP ROM which can be installed using Safestrap. Hopefully designgears will have that "leak" of the latest build for our I537 model here shortly...

Thank you for your answer.
Well, the thing is, I actually don´t run benchmarks if I´m hiking . I pointed out that noticeable negative in-use difference in performance between a stock S3 and a stock 9295, with apps that probably many people also will run if they are outdoors with their S4A.. But to check if the device is not defective, I ran the benchmarks and of course did get about the same values.
Thats what everybody can test by themselves, its a fair competition: The mentioned apps on both devices, of course with same settings, and you will see.

does p1010 have worse gpu?

Hi I see conflicting statments about the wifi only tab. is it indeed much inferior as it has a rubbish gpu? e.g. I have seen some youtube vids of fpse running amazingly well on the tab, would it run very slow on the p1010?
Thanks
p.s. if I had a brand new sealed one what could I sell it for?
Edit found some more threads looks like it does indeed have a much worse gpu. How annoying as I can get one really cheap. Still interested on your thoughts on what I can see it for. I should be able to get a brand new one for £149.99 tomorrow (best buy bristol OOS today but were taking names of people who missed out)

Okay, I've been reading stuff around forums that the Wifi-only Tab is less powerful than the normal one. However, when I checked sites like GSMArena, Softpedia.org, etc. They didn't mention these changes.
You can sell it for about 20 euros off the price (sorry, that's about 16-18 pounds, maybe?)
Edit: according to some tests ran, the wifi version does indeed uses powerVR530 instead.
I just started a thread asking p1010 owners to install Quadrant and post a screen shot of the "System Information".
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054872
There were rumors that the P1010 uses OMAP not Samsung Hummingbird. The GPU is indeed SGX530, not SGX540 of the Samsung Hummingbird.
I also dug through many user forums and found another post (in Bulgarian) with the same finding:
http://www.androidbg.com/forum/topic10462-samsung-galaxy-tab-wifi-639-lv-v-tekhnomarket.html
(post #16 - copy and paste into google translate)
I also have an Archos 70 which has OMAP 3630 / SGX530. The Adobe flash video is definitely not smooth (even at 360p), and the Archos has a lower resolution screen (800 x 480). Playing pre-recorded HD video is smooth (720 H.264 definitely, 1080 H.264 depends on the bitrate), but again the video is playing on a lower resolution screen on the Archos. It also depends on the hardware of the device (The Archos usually has a good board that support hardware acceleration for multimedia).
I can assure you about the lower spec of the wifi version which has been confirmed by our local Samsung. They are asked to give some compensation to the buyers who have mistakenly bought this wifi version due to wrong advert (i.e. same spec as the 3g version, but without phone and 3g capability).
It barely (to impossible to) plays HD movies. Other features are not very much of an issue. Youtube HQ video and dvdrip video works smoothly, though.
I also own Archos 70 for a few months before I get Galaxy Tab Wifi version. I really loved Archos 70.
Archos 70 is really thin and battery lasts longer. What Galaxy Tab Wifi surpasses Archos 70 are:
- LCD is much better
- everything works obviously faster even on the stock ROM.
- more app/data storage
- Flash works quite smooth
I really want them to combine good features of both tablets!

How and Why I started liking my note

Hi,
So I got my note4 about a month ago and I can def say that I wasn't too happy after I got it.
It was sluggish(coming from Nexus5) , didn't last too much and frankly overall it didn't feel like the premium device I wanted to get after spending all my money on it. Started thinking that I should of gotten instead maybe the Iphone 6, LG3 or Nexus 6.
However after a few tweaks my phone has started to perform not less then excellent. There's no more lag(not even a bit in the interface/apps or anything..there's non including on the recent apps tab) and the battery life literally lasts for at least a day and a half as it supposed to be(usually get 5 SOT, guess more if I would of turned the brightness down). In general what I've done was to(or what I'm doing when I install a new ROM):
- disable DVFS through wanam and exposed
- install nova launcher
- debloat the device completely of unnecessary apps (pesonally i've used app master, great app to easily get rid of system app)
-install a custom kernel and Underclock and Undervolt- this is an important note: we don't really need a clock speed of 2.7 for anything else but benchmarks. it is a bit ridiculous when you understand how it works. so yeah, when I benchmark I OC to 2.8 put performance governor and get my 50K on antutu but on your day to day usage there is really no need, and in fact no lag -at all- when you underclock to something like 1.7 for example. why on earth do some people OC to 2.8 when they use fb most of the time? and if its for games, well I ran some intensive games and still didn't had any lag whatsoever.
- betterbatterystats & greenify : the ultimate combination - check whats your alarms.. and just disable them. on an average night I think I lose about maybe 2% of battery if not less. when my phone deep sleeps, it sleeps like a charm(and exposed modul ''amplify'' is a great addition too).
- disabled almost all of the apps that were booting up on startup, used exposed module boot manager to do it.
I hope this input of my personal experience will help anyone there that feels like I felt when I bought the phone. Other then that, you are more then welcomed to input your own tweaks and how you got the phone to react like you want it to
mine is not rooted, but its superfast, no lags, and the battery is amazingly good
I've been undecided between the note and nexus 6, mainly due to the reported lag on the note 4. This has given me a bit more confidence to go with the note

the last time i used samsung when i first bought the first galaxy tab way back 2011! believe me that thing was the worst ever gadget i ever bought!
i told myself not to buy any samsung tablet and phones! after hearing horrible stories about touchwiz from all galaxy s series. Untill i have decided to go back to samsung through the galaxy note 4!!!
this monster made me a samsung believer again, i never experienced any statter or lag, this thing is a monster! fast and responsive, lots of useful features
like the multi window or the multitasking, s pen features and not to forget the crystal clear picture quality of the camera.
and mind you! the touchwiz launcher is more faster than the 3rd party launcher ive ever used!!!
and lastly you can disable those preinstalled apps!
Is your model the snap or exynos?
What's this DVFS and what Kernel did you install?

flashed AEL 4.3 and Echo rom. would advise you to google regarding Samsungs DVFS as of course I'm not responsible to anything that you are doing with your device and you should know what you are doing
Mine's a SD version too, and as tal123 I run Echo rom on ael 4.3 kernel. However, I have not done any of the other tweaks tal has and mine is as smooth as they get. It kinda sad though tha sammy ships a premium phone with software that makes lag and stutter. Installing echo/ael made the day for me. It was ok on stock but this is heaven.

Galaxy Tab S2 Problems

Hello,
I got the Tab S2 8 inch or WiFi only model - SM-T710 on launch day.
I was really excited for this since I was upgrading from an iPad 4, which felt slow.
However, I was disappointed with many things :
1. Most Apps are not tablet optimized.
2. Asphalt 8 tends to lag, although I never noticed this with my iPad.
3. Only 1GB of the 3GB RAM seems to be available most of the time.
4. The play store won't let me access the US play store from outside the US.
5. Part of the Tablet feels hot after light usage.
Can rooting my device help with the above mentioned problems?
How can I fix these problems? Normally I would have done these myself but since I'm completely new to Android I wanted to ask. I've been using iOS since 5 years and I've never had any problems like these. I'm also a fan of iOS jailbreak, tweaks, etc..
One more doubt : Is there a chance that the Tab S2 will get the Android M update?
Thanks,
Trix

1. No issues on my s1
2. Can't help with that, don't play games
3. Perfectly normal on an Android device, Android doesn't waste ram, it uses it to make your device faster.
4. You probably need to load the firmware for your region.
5. Same as the s1

1. Unfortunately, that is going to be a common thing with Android. Google built scalable interface based off the resolution, which makes apps run on tablets. As opposed to the iPad, there isn't a scalable interface feature but instead it uses upscaling, which makes apps very large and blurry.
In addition to that, Apple forces the default settings of the app store search to only show iPad only apps. This means, if you didn't update your app to support tablet interfaces manually, you wouldn't show up on the default search. This pretty much *forced* all of the developers to update their apps, if they wanted it to be seen of course.
But, since Android scales all of this natively the developers are lazy and simply do not update their apps for tablet interfaces as much as iOS.
2. The Tab S2 is a very powerful tablet, but if you're comparing it to the Ipad Air 2 there's going to be no comparison on how the iPad is much stronger. The processer on the iPad is more powerful than some computers people have at home. However, Android really is not a gaming platform, it is more of a productivity platform. There are way more games on iOS than Android, so if you're into gaming (on mobile) stick with iOS. Both platforms have hardware that is compeltely overkill than what most of the gaming apps actually require.
3. That honestly is no different than the iPAD, the amount of memory free should not be a concern unless apps are closing more often than you would like. Keep in mind that iOS struggles with memory as well, you can browse the internet and minimize the app and come back and it will reload the entire page, losing the spot you were scrolled to. On Android, it actually remembers the last spot you were at, simply because it has better memory management.
Keep in mind tablets are solid state, with incredibly fast read and write speeds. Ram can actually become irrelvant, because it can simply page the memory to the solid state drive and it would be effectively the same speed as real ram; you could actually get away with running with 1GB of ram easily. It's just that there is a limited amount of read and writes to a solid state drive, so they still use dedicated RAM to extend the lifespan since it is cheaper than solid state drives in general.
4. You can use a VPN to bypass that restriction.
5. Both the Ipad and S2 will got hot if you try to game on it, these devices don't even have fans in them so I don't know what you are expecting.
With that being said, I much prefer Android over IOS. When I use my iPAD, I've pretty much given up searching for an app because it simply did not exist with such restricted permissions on the iOS platform. With Android, I can customize my tablet to my liking, and I really like the keyboard support on it; it is much better than Apple in that regard.
I own both tablets and I use the Android far more, both have their cons and advantages. But for me, I don't like mobile games, I find them too simple. Thats why I love Android because I can emulate all consoles up to PSP/DS ERA.

The read/write speeds of ss flash memory is nowhere near as fast as ram.
The Tab s and s2 both have very fast ram.
If manufacturers relied on flash memory for caching and system read/writes with today's fast cpu's the system would bottle neck and crawl.
Fast cpu's need much faster memory to keep up and run smoothly.
Run some benchmarks and you will see the difference.

Yes, there is no question that RAM is much faster, but if you're comparing it to normal usage most people wouldn't see the difference. The Surface Pro 3 64GB edition runs off 2GB of RAM and constantly runs at 90% peak memory and ironically performs just as fast as the 4GB version simply because the solid state has such a high read and write speed.
To a certain extent, all tablets page to the harddrive. As far as I know, there aren't many flagship android models that feature like huge amounts of super speed ram.
When you're comparing it to "much faster", say if you are travelling 500mph and you could go 1200mph, but you already get to your destination in less than a second so for the average user, they probably wouldn't even notice the difference.
I suggest you do more research on it.

The average user is not going to notice their device is faster if the device is perfectly capable of loading basic tasks such as websites at reasonable speeds.

1) Yup that is android sadly there. Though more are coming out with tablet versions of the software... FINALLY!
2) I haven't noticed that myself on the device as I do play that game as well
3) As long as it free's it up, there is no issues with having ram used. It will dump memory as needed if apps require more. Typically most apps don't require that much ram so no issues.
4) Thats just a country/region issue with the device ID. If rooted you can fix it at least. I travel and when outside the US the store is still US to me.
5) Most devices are like this. Gaming will make it hotter as well, but that goes for Android to Apple as well. Now, this device is cooler than previous ones I've had under heavy gaming and light usage gets a little warm.
As for the new OS, we can assume so, but since its a little ways off it might take time still for it to "Officially" come to the tablets.
I just bought mine yesterday and one feature under the settings was missing... there's no user under the device the options only are:
-sounds and notif
-display
-motion and gestures
-applications
there is no user. also in the notification panel there is no manage user.. can somebody help me plsss.. thanks in advance!
Tab S2 problem
Hey guys, hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction. Looks like i got screwed with my Tab S2. I bought a 9.7" cellular version from someone on Kijiji (Equivalent to Craigslist in Canada) and it was working just fine. I installed some apps and was just playing around with it. About two days later it started freezing and restarting when i would play a game or watch a video. Since then it has gotten progressively worse. I boot it up and 30 seconds to a minute later it turns off on its own. I thought it may be a software issue so i did a hard reset but the problem still persists. I took it into a Samsung repair center and they said that it is a pre-production model (IMEI is 00000000000000) and they cannot help. Any ideas what i can do to repair it. I just hate the idea of having a $400 paper weight.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 Problems/Issues
Model#: SM-T815Y
Android Version: 5.0.2 (latest)
1. random hanging 3x-10x/day depends on usage.
problem: hanging that leads to black display screen
solution: soft reset -> press the power button+volume down for atleast 10secs
or until boot up screen shows up.
1a. random hanging usually happens
-when downloading or opening something in the Playstore.
-exploring the settings of the gadget.
NOTE: I noticed that it happens frequently when clicking/using apps
that is related to its Internal Memory.(eg. problem#2)
2. Calculating the Size of the Applications
problem 1: it keeps saying computing even after 30mins of leaving the screen.
solution: unmount sd card>remove sd card>insert sd card.
problem 2: can't clear cache of an application.
solution: need to restart the gadget for it to take effect.
3. Auto Restart then it didn't boot up properly. It only stayed in Samsung Screen.
CONCLUSION: it's not normal to have these kind of problems 3gb of RAM,32gb of internal memory, up to date updates.
: very few widgets are activated, very few downloaded apps installed.
: strongly convinced that the cause of problem is its hardware specifically its internal memory.

Question Galaxy Tab S8 lagging in games compared to Tab S7

Hello
I have upgraded my Tab S7 to Tab S8. And I have expected new device be much faster and smoother, but what I found that games are really lagging! It was perfectly smooth on S7 but not on S8. Game mode does not help much. I do not play a log of games on this tablet as I used it mostly for developement, but I do play Harry Potter Puzzle and Spells and this game lags pretty bad on S8.
What can be done to fix it or should I wait for Samsung to release update? I do know about Samsung's throttling on S8 devices but I never expect it to be that bad.
And in addition (don't want to open another thread) it seems that S8 has more aggressive memory settings because it unloads apps from memory over time. Which never happened on S7. S8 has more memory and I think it should keep more opened apps, not reloading them. And yes, settings in developer section (do not keep activities) is not enabled

This has to do to android 12, s7 was only on android 11, but also is on 12 now. So then it automatically puts apps into deep sleep. You can remove that under battery settings area and remove apps from deep sleep mode.
About lagging it might be new game mode from samsung since apparently samsung did on purpose limit hardware but added a settings into app that let's you gain more performance in games. Should be in game engine or w.e name is and then settings and then Labs and enable experimental feature there that should boost performance and stop limit the hardware for game.
When I replaces S7 it was already on Android 12 but I never observed such behavior. Anyway, I have put game into never sleep list. As about lags, unfortunately I found no options for that

I was noticing this particular with emulation since I don't play many native android games. When playing Sonic Colors at native res on my Tab S7+, it would almost never go below 30fps in level, and almost never below 60fps in the hub and menus. However, when I tried doing the same on the S8+, I had a bunch of stuttering and performance issues no matter what version of dolphin I used. There was a workaround to this (at least for me). These issues only happened when I restored my data to my new S8+ with Smart Switch, but when I just put all my data and stuff on there manually, the issues seemingly stopped happening. The only game I throttle in is Fortnite, which didn't have the 90fps option even though the S7+ did. The game still didn't feel much different before and after the throttle, still pretty consistent framerates overall.
Edit: Just fixing typos.

Did you used cloud backup or restored through cable or it's the same thing? I have similar problem, but with benchmark results. My device can't get even average model score in 3DMark (about 2 to 8%). Geekbench scores are worse than snapdragon 865 devices. I don't know what's going on. I already tried to reflash stock rom with odin, but that didn't help. Hopefully not using cloud backup will help.

Did you used cloud backup or restored through cable or it's the same thing? I have similar problem, but with benchmark results. My device can't get even average model score in 3DMark (about 2 to 8%). I initially restored with a cable, but once I started getting shawty performance, I made a backup on my sd card and restored it from there with Smart Switch. I never used cloud backup since that takes a lot of time for me. After getting suboptimal results with both, I just bit the bullet and slowly started adding everything and getting it to how it was on my old devices. Only then did I get getting substatiall better results. Now I can run a lot of Wii/GC/3DS/PS2 games at 1.5x, 2x, and sometimes even 3x without getting throttled. Not sure why using smart switch tanked my performance, but all I know is that it's not tanking now.
Thats interesting. Because I also moved data using cable. I do not know how good is cloud since I never did it before (only on Apple devices).
I might try to fully format tablet and test it again.
Will provide more information later

I tried formatting few days ago, and that didn't help. At least for me this problem is not related to Smart Switch. Do you also have bad benchmark scores? I understand that benchmarks are not very good indicator of performance (especially due to GOS), but I expect to have at least average SD8gen1 performance, not the level of SD855.
Did reset to factory settings. It is much better at least for now. Benchmark - tested only Geekbench 5. Result the same
Hi.. I'm experiencing the same problem here.. any updates regarding this problem? My geekbench score can't even surpass an exynos 2100.. it only achieve around 700ish on single core.. the first time I notice this is when I tried playing granturismo with aethersx2.. and it can't even handle the 1x reso.. hhhh.. really frustrated here.. please kindly share any clues regarding this topic thanks in advance.. sorry not a native English speaker
I had same problem, but, i solved using this:
ADB AppControl 1.7.5
(disable all game service (i'm not remember how many)). For me it's work great
--edit
i disabled bixdy and others apps too
First.. thank you for the answer! Might try it out later..
So it's like disabling the "GOS" right? Is it different from the "alternate game performance" option in game booster? They said it's the "official" way to disable the GOS.. but yeah I didn't find any difference after enabling that option though... Hmm..
Hmm...also.. What makes me wonder is.. I saw some reviewers review this device without any tweaking needed and they could achieve a 8gen1'ish results in benchmarks.. and also if you know ETA prime on YouTube.. he reviewed a tab s8 ultra and is able to run a granturismo 4 with aethersx2 (ps2 emulator) in 3x reso in default settings with no problems... I know it's a different device but it's supposed to have a same Chip right?
All of this things makes me frustrated because it was not what i expected from a 8gen1 device.. moreover I saw a sd870 device could run the granturismo 4 in the same settings with no problems.. it really broke my heart..
The issue mainly lies in the SOC.
Even though, SD8 Gen 1 has a much higher peak performance, especially in GPU, it can't sustain that performance due to excesive power consumption which results in thermal throttling.
GOS is another thing that affects the whole experience, it's limiting the performance of the device.

Yeah.. I think this is mainly what cause the problem.. The 8gen1 itself..
a quick update regarding this from me..
I've done some re-test in benchmark and real game perfomance but this time im doing it in a well conditioned (cooled) room..
previously I was doing the test and gaming and in a room without any Air Conditioner and I lived in a tropical country which is really hot and humid...
the benchmark results (3d wildlife) came out Nice in a well cooled room, It scores what most of Tab S8 would score and the real life perfomance (PS2 emulator) is also improved..
it manages to handle GranTurismo 4 in aethersx2 with 3x reso on safe setting quite well..
the CPU temperature is well managed in around 35'ish Celcius compared to 45'ish when not using any air conditioner...

CPU temperature 35 Celsius degrees? Are you talking about an ABSOLUTE idle? Because even if you would put a bag of ice on the TAB it wouldn't sit that low under usage. Even small loads will put the CPU around 50-60 Celsius degrees. Under heavy load up to 85-90 till the thermal throttle hits in.
Also, that ONE wildlife mark test doesn't do much. The idea is stability, better known as SUSTAINED performance, and that's where SD8 Gen 1 ****s itself. Try running a Wildlife standard stress test (20-minute loop) and post the screenshot, you'll see what I mean.

I only saw the perf-z indicator from samsung though.. so yeah.. i know i might just straight up wrong about this I just straight saying what I saw.. and honestly I'm not an expert in this.. just a mere consumer..
Yeah I got you.. it goes downhill even after the first one.. what I'm trying to say was that I never reach that score before in warm room so yeah it's mainly the CPU problem..
What mainly being my concern before was I'm scared that I got scammed with a fake/unoriginal/refurbished tab s8.....
Harry Potter plays fluently on Tab S8 Plus here.
I have sent my S8 to my mom and bought S8 plus. Did not restore, set it up from scratch. No lagging in games, including HP. So, it could be related to thermal soliton in S8 plus as it is bigger

Yes you have to run 4 adb Commands that also disables game booster and game launcher then GOS will stay disabled even after restart. I've done this and turn ram plus off. I also disabled or put into deep sleep all of the bs apps. I also went to advance features and turned off all of everything causes I don't use the s-pen so no need for air actions and stuff to be on. If you want the ADB commands let me know.

Question Anyone else dissapointed in the Realme GT2?

I picked this phone up as secondary device/work phone. I've had it for about 6 months now, after spending some time trawling reviews, and I find myself dissapointed.
I have updated the firmware every time to see if issues are resolved, however I am still not 100% happy.
My main issues are as follows:
Battery life seems really random, even with very little running, especially for a 5000Mah battery.
Performance feels heavily capped
I feel like the hardware of this phone just isn't being properly utilised, or has been performanced capped (maybe to try and prevent taking market share from the company's higher end devices). My personal mobile is an Oppo Find X2 Pro, using a Snapdragon 865, and whilst some stuff is noticeably fast and as snappy as I'd expect from the Snapdragon 888 in this phone, other things just feel slow or stuttery. Perfect example is games. In many games, like Diablo Immortal, the older Find X2 Pro sits around 60FPS with few issues and reasonable settings.
If I try to run the same settings with this phone, I'm greeted with a much more variable 40-60 FPS, which no amount of tweaking the settings seems to fix. There is no way the Snapdragon 865 should be outperforming the 888, but it is. The underlying OS is very similar as Oppo and Realme are part of the same group, to the point they even use the same game toolkit, but despite all this and the better hardware, the Realme is outperformed by the older Find X2 Pro.
Am I the only one getting this experience?
it is a great phone but I agree to you at the most
For me the best problem is the Os .
The apps is free to do what they want without a capable phone manager to stop them.
I also have this phone since it came out, very disappointed! Bad battery, heating, low performance in most apps, camera colors, audio etc.

Can't believe no one is talking about this..
Got mine weeks ago with first release of Android 12 pre-installed (from October 2021). Performance was amazing, Diablo was buttery smooth even stupidly maxed-out. Did only one OTA update (still Android 12 after that), it killed performance from every games even at low settings, stutters was everywhere, even at 30FPS cap, unnaceptable. Then did OTA to Android 13, same even with factory reset. Was thinking of returning it at that point.
Then, tried to unlock bootloader to clean install the oldest Android 12 available from here. Games was again buttery smooth, but camera app was crashing and OS had weird glitchs, soo.. was stuck here, disapointed. Tried using the newest Adreno GPU Drivers with root, same garbage performance from games. Debloated the entire rom, same. What's strange is that benchmarks results like 3DMark doesn't show any degradation from good A12 to bad A12/A13.. was thinking it could be refresh rate related but even tweaking with SmartHertz didn't help.
I'm now on Pixel OS (available from the official website), performance is amazing, original GT2 camera app is pre-installed (quality is exactly the same as ColorOs), have unlimited space usage from Photos in original quality, and everything is working. You also don't need SmartHertz to get everything in 120Hz (like Brave), "adaptative" resfresh rate is working too (60/120Hz). Battery life, got 12H SOT on a three days basis with mostly browsing usage, some photos, little games, and basic power saver on, ended at 7%. Pretty happy now, it's surprisely good for a rom this early.
So yes, all of this crap is ColorOS related. Something got broken somewhere at the A12 2022 timeline.
They unfortunately halted (momentarily ?) their unlock server so..
@Lightning- , are you talking about pixelos from this site? https://pixelos.net/download/porsche
Can you also point to a tutorial on how to get back to stock after flashing pixelos?
Yes, this one. There is also LineageOS rom but it just keep bootlooping on my side for some reason.
Revert to stock : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/collection-of-ota-packages.4542941/post-88558929 + https://github.com/italorecife/OppoRealme-OFP-Flash
For me it is the battery life and the lack of modification to the rom

This is really informative, thank you. I just wanted to ask if the microphone problem that this phone had is fixed when using Pixel OS?
friends, I'm on rmx3311_11_A.13 software right now and I don't like it especially charging and heating. there is rmx3311_11_A.22 update now, should i install it

On Android 13 the CPU has been capped to 80°c which otherwise would be 95°c, this is done in order to reduce overheating, this increases battery backup however reduces performance by 10-20%, there is a magisk module I've made that unlocks this cap if you want I can send

I suggest you stay on Realme UI since it seems to be more stable than any other AOSP based rom rn, it has better battery backup and camera quality too, but the choice is yours

Almost three weeks with POS. I don't have any issue at all, better than stock, better battery life, no stability issue (no FC or randoms reboot), and camera is the exact same (tested with two GT2, one with POS and one with RUI 13 locked bootloader, there is ZERO difference in photos..). It has unlimited storage too with Google Photos at original quality (even with RAW), wich is a big plus by itself, no root required.
LineageOS is available too but it always bootloop on mine so can't test it.

Will I be able to return to RUI in the future if I install a custom rom? (And still get the updates). Also How did you unlock the bootloader. The deep test app doesn't seem to work.
