I heard it is possible to add/remove different bands depending on which radio firmware is flashed.... is that true?

Hi,
Is it possible to update just the radio on my diamond? I already have a new hardspl and dont want to have to flash all over again so i lose everything, as all i want to do is flash to a different radio version.
Is this possible?
Thanks gyro
not sure about diamond but a normal flash with just the radio.nbf file would do just that
All radio ROM's that I know of only contain the radio file, so flashing it will only upgrade (or change, because you can downgrade the radio as well) your radio and not your 'ROM'.
I want to do what the title says because i want to flash a different radio to my device... ever since i installed the dev RUU from brighstar, my hspa speeds have decreased and changing the apn is the problem.. i want to get back to the regular t-mobile radio or a radio that is better than that one.. which i heard the .24 is better
What exactly is a radio(the one you can flash via task00,i know what an FM radio is ) and what does flashing a different radio change on my phone?
On many phones you are able to change what frequencies radio operates on by flashing appropriate radio fw. How do Motos operate? Possible?
I'm trying to find radio roms for my Vivid. (Telstra Australia varient)
I can't get 4g/lte, the phone radio just dies when I'm in 4g areas. I want to flash a new radio rom. Both Telstra (the phone) and the carrier I'm with Optus both use the same band/frequency and such I should probably just need to use any recent telstra radio rom.
I've searched but can't find any vivid radio roms. Where are they?

I'm not an expert, but I believe flashing radios is more of a hassle than regular ROMs. The radio is in a protected partition, which is not modifiable without S-OFF (or maybe some very specific and unknown code from the carrier). I also recall reading that the radio is on a different CPU (FCC regulations?), and that the phone first boots the radio through that CPU, and once that's ok, THEN the main CPU is activated to boot the rest of the phone. So if you screw up your radio, it could be very bad.
I found this thread kind of discussing flashing radios:
