Is anyone else receiving touch Wiz issues??? clearly not a root or room issue. .
What were you doing when it crashed

Reboot the phone and see if it helps. If not hit a factory reset before you get to involved with it.

I think I figured out my problem. It was fancy widgets and Pandora with unlimited skip causing problems. Uninstalled and all is good..... I'll try to reinstall
blah still having this problem. Im using helium backup right now and will do a factory reset. touchwiz always crashes when i download and install a new app from the playstore. is anyone else having this problem?

I installed asphalt 5 and it gave me a message saying I had to download extra data. It would never get past that. I got rom manager and ran the fix permissions thing and the that and nova both worked. If anyone was having the same problem I would recommend giving it a go.

Hi guys I have a completely stock att atrix hd and I'm having a weird issue... If I place a widget from the play store( tried many) or a live wallpaper they seem to work just fine...until I reboot. After reboot its as if nothing was ever there...its not like a fresh boot but just the widget and live wallpaper are gone...but if I use the built in ones they will stick..any help would be great..
Things I've done is a factory reset and also changed sdcards not that I think that could be it...

Are the widgets/live wallpapers "Paid" apps, or Free apps?
Because there's a bug in 4.1.1 where paid apps don't get loaded at boot time, and it probably affects widgets, too. I have to deal with it with Swiftkey, where every time I reboot it's no longer selected as my default keyboard app. So after every reboot, I have to re-enable it and re-select it as my default keyboard.
May be the same bug is affecting your widgets.
Looks like the bug you suggested... Well I took the plunge and unlocked it rooted and put stable cm 10.1 and no more problem....

This article might explain the problem better, for anyone interested:

I would like to start by saying that this issue has existed on the original 4.4.2 Leak. If it were not for "drakeymcmb" and his tremendous work I would just use his 4.3 Knoxraid I've been plagued with issue regardless of launcher and am always guaranteed to crash ( sooner or later ) because of it. I wish i could pinpoint the exact cause however it seems to attack at random and despite my efforts i can't seem to find a forum that addresses this. I want to clarify that I followed the installation instructions to the letter and have successfully installed 4.4.2 leak when released and Knoxraid v1&2 with NO OTHER ISSUE. This seems to be a bug that came with the leak and although i am truly happy to be an early user of 4.4.2 on at&t's galaxy note 3 (root too ;p ) I really hope someone can help my squash this pesky bug!
Has anyone else run into this issue??

Bump?
did you restore app data? if you did clear data. or go into you internal memory and delete anything nova related in the android folder
Gave it a shot, I'll post my results shortly.
Holy ****. That does not look normal. Try changing fonts under the settings. Should be like this
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yep. Tried different fonts. Different launchers, you name it. Unfortunately touch wiz is the only launcher that doesn't glitch out.

That happened to me as well i wad using aviate at the time. So i went back to touchwiz thrn back to aviate as default and it fixed itslef for now. Dont know if that will help. Have you uninstalling the other launchers and reinstalling?

It started yesterday. The biggest changes I can think of are
1. adding Gear Manager and connecting Gear 2 Neo to it which happened one week ago. No issues till now
2. putting in and taking out a microSD card. Shortly after this action, the random reboots started. I don't think I messed up the related hardware. I did it carefully, not forcing anything. I even shut down the device and popping the battery before inserting and removing the microSD.
I'm scratching my head what could have triggered the random reboots. I have shut down Bluetooth to trouble-shoot what is causing the random reboots. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks
What firmware are you on? Are you rooted? Have you tried another sd card? Maybe try a factory reset

It is possible that the power button is failing.

I believe it is in gravity box. But it is possible that wanam has that feature as well.

My Note 3 isn't rooted. It's running stock KitKat. It doesn't have a microSD. I put one in to copy files and took it out right away. I don't know if it was a coincident. The reboots started shortly after I put in and took out the microSD. I think it's more a coincident because I was super careful with the microSD slot.
I just did a reset. I'll observe if reboots happen again.
I know it sounds crazy but try going into Settings>Wifi>Advanced and unchecking "Always Allow Scanning". Once I used a SD in it and have that checked my phone randomly reboots no matter what ROM or MODs I use and I have met other people on here that have had the same issue and unchecking that setting fixed it. Something about the way some SD cards work and that setting not playing nice with each other. Hope this helps you, I know it nearly drove me mad until someone suggested I try unchecking it.
I did a reset and restored my all apps backed up by Helium. I got random reboots still. But may be because I also restored Gear Manager and its associated plugins and apps, I was still getting random reboots. I have reset again and restored all my apps without the Gear Manager etc. So far it's been 20 hours, no random reboots. I'll observe some more. I just have the feeling Gear Manager etc have something to do with the reboots.
@zacharyt86: I'll remember your tip too. Thanks
My N3 used to do that a lot so i rooted the phone and now i have no issues. I did have issues with some roms and when i was using a rom slot on ss but no issues on the stock slot.
Im on JB though but my note had the same issue. I think its a memory issue... I was also using a cache cleaner then that i just havent used since i changed roms
Ya think it just could be one if those weird things I see others having issues that I'm not having if it keeps doing it I would call Samsung or take it back to att

Root alone does nothing. All it does is allow administrative access to everything.

Google or the search function will answer your question.
Highjacking a thread will not.

It's been 60+ hours. No reboots. I'm inclining to conclude it's Gear Manager and its associated plugins and apps that caused the reboots. I'll install Gear Manager again, not install any Gear app, just connect phone calling and default notifications, i.e.all default stuff. Will report back.

For probably 3 months or more the stock messaging app on my SM-N900A is been really lagging or will stop all together. At first I thought it was swift key keyboard that I was using, and if I change to the standard Samsung keyboard, it helps a little, but the problem persists. Force closing the app, clearing data and cache doesn't seem to help either. Software is up to date. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks

I couldnt handle how much the stock messaging app sucked so i switched to hangouts. Its quite a bit better plus when i send pictures it doesnt tell me to "Select different media."
Could be that you need to turn on the feature to delete old messages automatically. Maybe clear cache of the app?

Use chomp sms. Been using it since the note days and never had an issue. Also it's highly customisable.
