After some light searching I found
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37965321&postcount=702
It explains how to fix the sms lte on SIII this method does work for the S4 Active with hyperdrive Rom installed.
I copied the specified files from the stock Rom system folder to another folder for easy access, rebooted into SS Recovery switched to the hyperdrive Rom slot (without rebooting) and put the files in their respective places and I believe I can send sms on Lte (go sms said it sent)
may this post be helpful to someone,
Peace
If this works you are my hero.
Trying it now

If you are able to, can you create a flashable file so other users can install this directly after installing the ROM? I'm trying to help keep this thread updated so other users can flash ROMs through SafeStrap and have everything working.
Nice find, I have been try to figure this out for 2 days!

Can anyone confirm this fix? If so, I will gladly make a flashable zip and post it.
I don't know how to make a flashable version I'm just starting to dig into Android but I've been using this fix for a couple of say and have done a factory reset and all that jazz and I'm still able to send and receive on lte
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
The flashable zip is located here
I pulled these files from the MF1 build of the stock firmware. I cannot confirm how it works: I don't have LTE where I live. I flashed the zip and it didn't cause any problems though. If someone can confirm it working or not, I would really appreciate it.
Y'all know how it works by now: flash at your own risk. I am not responsible for anything that happens--good, bad, or indifferent.

I flashed to MF3 seems to fix LTE and MMS! when making a phone call the phone app freezes up! Can't end call or go to keypad,No response while in phone call. Tried switching phone apks with the dark dialer, same result.
Is anyone using hyperdrive on MF3 able to receive phone calls?

Yes...I tried the LTE zip file and didnt work, so I made a new access point name and copied the settings from the stock rom. Phone cslls are clear and all the buttons work on dailer.
This is what I am using for settings.
Are U also able to send and receive messages? What about LTE? I have tried that route and had no luck!

I use Google voice for text, so I cant attest to it. Im at the edge of cell service, so my type of service is all over, but ive had H...H+...LTE notifications show up.
Took this a minute ago...1 bar on LTE.
I did a reflash tis morning and I can confirm that the contact app not working is from the MF1 lte fix. Flashed rom, rebooted, contacts worked.flashed lte fix, reboot contacts force crashed. I went into twrp copied my original files from stock rom and it fixed the contacts. Maybe from using MF1 files on MF3?

I made a flashable zip for MF3 as well. If you want to test it, PM me and I'll send you the link. Please don't share it until we can confirm it works. I can't be responsible for anything that happens.
So, as of tonight I have LTE in my area. I can confirm this zip for MF3 fixing the LTE SMS issue for me, but YMMV as always. I can't be held responsible for anything that may happen. Flash at your own risk:

I can make calls no problem. I can't speak on receiving them because very few people call me. (OT: yeah, that sounds really sad...)
Zip works great for LTE and SMS. I can't receive calls,I can make call but the phone app locks up when u try to end call.

Hey guys, since my thread was closed, I was advised by ::indie:: to show you guys how to port his rom. This method should work for other International I9505 roms as well. Landon4444 made a thread on how to port it, but I'm taking more of TheAxman's approach.
1. Download Omega Rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253528
You'll need Notepad++ for this next part
2. Open the zip of the rom and add this line into the file build.prop (system/build.prop)
# Use CDMALTE Phone
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1
^This gets data working for our phone.
3. Flash the modified rom and a custom TW kernel for our device.
4. Enjoy
Also, please don't make the mistake I have, and ask for permission before you port. Hope this helps you guys out.
sorry i dont understand.. i down loaded the rom.. well a diff rom.. on my pc.. i open the zip go into system then i see build prop at the bottom. but i cant open that file.. it says its a prop file? do i downloed the rom and flash it then use root explorer to add that line in?

It will work, but what is the point here? I know you mean well, but this is a bad idea, I think.
And why are you singling out this one rom?
TUT = ? What does this stand for?
My next question. Will this work on any of the ROMs from Verizon or international?

I was advised by the maker of Omega ROM to make a tutorial (TUT) on how to port this ROM since my port of it was taken down. I probably should (and will) change the title but I did include in the OP that it will work for other ROMs as well (as long as they are on an S4 with similar hardware).

Yeah I set it to that and it stays on that even after a reboot but no 4g after. Its weird because if I restore my Sprint Tw rom after that I don't have 4g either. Alrighty then.
Tried adding the line prior to flash but it didnt stick for some reason... so I added it after the flash and LTE is working fine but my signal bars are dead. Any idea how to get them back?
Edit: so I turned off lte and they came back, I can live with this. "Roaming indicator off" notification is pretty annoying though. Any idea how to get rid of it?

I had the same issue with 4G signal bars and this is what I did on Omega and it fixed it.
I do not know how much of this is necessary and be sure to make a backup before you try.
I replaced the following files in the Omega ROM with those from a stock deodexed MDL ROM prior to flashing then flashed KTs latest kernel and wiped cache and dalvik before rebooting.
The entire CSC directory in /system
any .so file in system/lib that contained ril in its name.
libaudio-ril.so
libreference-ril.so
libril-qc-qmi-1.so
libril-qcril-hook-oem.so
libril.so
libsecril-client.so
In system/bin
rild
sec-ril
in /system
build.prop
If you do a google search for radio interface layer (RIL) you will find info that led me to replace the ril files
I then restored APNs using APN backup and Restore after booting.
Hope this helps

App now available with the same functionality a zips below!
More info about app here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2607221
Changelog:
12/7/2013: Updated zip for 4.4.1 Using cg87 98-33 and 98-27 hybrid modems . Updated script to try to prevent duplicate build.prop entries.
8/9/2013: Updated zip to remove the installation of the older outdated snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 audio file. This is not needed with the hybrid modem.
7/26/2013:
Updated to morrislee awesome hybrid radios. Works on 4.3 and 4.2! LTE awesomeness, and still has all the newer features (power management, audio on T-Mobile, etc.) from the newer radios.
What is it?:
I have created a AIO ZIP that can be flashed on your phones recovery and will enable lte.
It flashes the awesome.33/84 hybrid (or .27/84 depending on zip) radio/modem by morrislee, fixes audio by overwriting the necessary file, and automatically updates your build.prop with the needed changes.
ALSO this zip will put 2 CM Backup scripts in /system/addon.d , now if your phone supports CM Update scripts (CM of course,Carbon as well, and im sure alot more ROMS) you will only have to flash this ZIP once, it will automatically backup/restore the needed files and make the changes to enable LTE on each ROM Update, just like it currently does for GAPPS.
.27/98 radio and .33/98 hybrid modem bundles available for download above. Recommended for KitKat users.
.27/84 and .33/84 hybrid modems are recommended for jellybean users . Also available at above link
Manually: (Depending on ROM)
You might have to manually enable LTE either in Settings-->Wireless &Networks More.. --> Mobile networks --> Change network mode to "LTE /GSM/WCDMA" (CM10 automatically did this for me)
If that's not an option and LTE isn't enabled, dial *#*#4636#*#* and Tap WCDMA from under "Set preferred network type". Select "LTE/GSM auto".
Depending on ROM you will either have to select or input LTE APN under Settings--> Wireless &Networks More.. --> Access Point --> (TMobile LTE APN is fast.t-mobile.com , most roms have this included)
FAQ:
Q. What modem should I use .27/84 hybrid or .33/84 hybrid
A. Try them both, see which one you like better. Test speed, battery life and reception with both. Results are different for everyone.
Q. Does this work with AT&T, Vodafone, Rogers etc
A. Flashing this ZIP will enable Band 4 LTE on your nexus 4, T-Mobile uses this in the USA. Check for Band 4 carriers here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
Credits to: (make sure to send thanks to all involved!)
XDA user cg87 for 98-33 and 98-27 hybrid modems
XDA user morrislee for putting together the awesome .27 and .33 hybrid .84 modems!

Yes it will work on stock 4.2.2, however you will need to unlock bootloader, and flash a custom recovery , which is needed to flash this.

Oh , my bad small error in update script. Going to upload fixed version now. The ZIP does work, and enable LTE fine , but CM Update scripts to keep it alive when you update ROM aren't coping over correctly.
EDIT: Links updated with new version
You should make a quick revert script to place everything the way it was before flashing this script.

Ok guys. I have come up with a method to install 4.4.2 international and T-Mobile ROMs without ADB.
I am using some stuff from @drakeymcmb and @Hashcode
I however need some help.
I will not be doing a tutorial yet because this is not complete.
I used EchoeROM from the International section. It boots and runs fine for the most part.
Bugs I can't figure out how to fix but have ideas for based on fixes from the AT&T S4.
Wi-Fi will not turn on. (I will need @Hashcode to help with that.)
Using the ATT PTA apns works, but is shoddy with LTE.
I ran into one random reboot when opening messaging. Didn't happen after it booted up again.
If you guys could give me a hand. I and the community would love you.
THIS IS NOT AND MAY NEVER BE A FINAL METHOD. DO NOT ASK FOR ETA's. AS OF RIGHT NOW, THIS IS ONLY A PROOF OF CONCEPT.
Reserved for screen shots showing proof.

OK guys. Waking up first then gathering all the files/links together for this install method for my one and only tester. I need more testers though. If you are willing to put this install method to the test, please PM me.
This is a warning. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DEVICE. If you choose to be a tester, that is all on you. Make sure you have a full backup of both your internal and external SD cards somewhere on your computer. I again am not responsible if you lose important data. Make sure that you do this now while I prepare to put this out for testers and testers only.
Right now, you should also download an International 4.4.2 ROM that does not use Aroma for install. I used the EchoeRom for my test.
I would like anyone that wants to test for me to be ready so that we can speed up this process.

Files are almost ready for distro. I ran into a problem while testing so I need to extract some stuff from KnoxRaid and build a flashable zip file to be used in SS and package it with the files I will have the testers download. I also realized that you will wipe the internal SD card so MAKE A BACKUP. Any files to be flashed via Safestrap need to be on the External SD.

NFC and wifi will not turn on. I have tried multiple different routes to get them functional, but to no avail. I'm gonna take a break for a bit. Clear my mind and try again. I need a package to fix those and to help save time with setup a package to flash the correct LTE APNs to the phone so users don't have to input them manually.

I tried force rebooting and my SIM wouldn't be detected so I reflashed it (again, clean flash) it and now I'm waiting on the boot screen for an hour+...I know first boots usually take longer because it has to setup the OS...but an hour..? Did I do something wrong? Anyone know why this might be happening?
EDIT: I got into the ROM. No cell signal though. Anyone possibly know why?
Might have a bad download. I know u did a back up of your previous ROM? U should re download the ROM again make sure u select the correct variant and see what happens then.

The download was fine because the MD5 matched what he said it should be. I selected the correct variant all 3 times I tried installing it.

I tried this a few times already :/ I tried redownloading the 12B baseband, flashing CM11, everything worked fine. ReDLed the KK baseband and ROM, no cell signal (SIM not even recognized). I think I'll wait it out till CloudyG3 1.1
Does it worked finally?? I had that issue yesterday trying yo install versión 2.0

Considering his post is from June, I hope so. You may want to post your full issue here or in a new thread or the G3 thread itself.
Well since this thread is here, I want to ask some questions about CloudyG3's rom on the Verizon variant. Basically how it is? I really like the stock experience of the G2.
I've used the Flex port with good success before but there were several issues that I came back to stock. I know the stock SMS app refuses to work, which kinda sucks. I really like the popup SMS/MMS feature.
I'm just looking into whether it is worth it before I take the plunge. What are the steps to making CloudyG3 work the best?
1: What SMS is a good replacement that is similar to stock?
2: How to get the radio working?
3: Knock Code won't work, correct?
4: What issues/bugs to expect?
5: ????
Stock ZIP Compiled From Base TAR Image
Hey! This is the base that I created from the TAR filed that I used to compile my Extreme Debloat ROM.
This base will be available to anyone who wants to use it in their own ROM. Just be sure to give credits as to where you got the base!
NCE-DeOdex-Stock
1: DeOdexed (Anyone using it to make a ROM should know how to make an Odex version.)
2: Rooted
3: Busybox
4: ZipAligned
5: Completely stock out of the box (This means Knox applicationes, OTA updater etc. are all still in the ROM.)
Instructions:
I compiled the zip from the tar file using a few tools and Archikitchen. I am not sure if the updater script/binary that is in the zip will work so I attached the META-INF and boot.img as a zip below as well. DO NOT flash the META-INF & boot.img zip as it will not work.
1: Download ROM.
2: Download META-INF and boot.img zip.
3: If you are going to be flashing the ROM, you also need to download the supersu.zip because the root apk built in the ROM is outdated.
4: Open ROM zip, and open META-INF & boot.img zip and have them side by side.
5: Drag and drop the META-INF folder and the boot.img file from that zip to the ROM zip and replace it.
I am sorry for not including the META folder in the ROM zip. I forgot to do it before I uploaded it and it takes forever to upload 1.4gb on my slow laptop/internet so I will update it when I get time. Then again, if you do not know how to replace the META folder, then maybe you should not be using this base to make ROMS.
Download:
NCE DeOdex Base - ~1.4gb
MD5: 50d654feedfce62efffa687537571612
META-INF & Boot.Img - ~9.1mb
MD5: 1c04d02ff7cf09187c6ac4bbe03828c2

I would be surprised if someone had a way to fix it. No satellites are coming up at all. Every gps app online can't help it seems. I don't know what to do besides send it back under warranty or insurance. Samsung is going down hill. M8 soon? Idk. .....smh

Don't do it man. I had the M8 for about a week and it's boring as all heck. Among other reasons.

Lol. I need my gps man. The Note 2 was the best. Then note 3 was bad (2 warranty replacements) then the white s 5 was wacky and now the Active. Samsung gps is a problem in my eyes. I can't even get 1 freaking satellite to pull up

Damn, sorry to hear that. I've had a S3, Note 2, S4, Note 3 and now S5 and I've never had a single gps issue on any of them.
I'm not saying your issues aren't real of course, but it's a bummer that you've had bad luck.

I've owned every Samsung Device since the GS3 and haven't had a single GPS issue at all. I hope you are able to get it taken care of.
Is the boot image attached here the default one from AT&T? My phone is about to go in for a warranty replacement, I flashed back to stock, and unrooted but my custom boot image is still there along with my custom boot sound byte. Can't send it back to AT&T with Dr. who loudly starting up on the phone LOL

Working on a ROM, kinda basic right now based off this. Hopefully all goes well.
I am new to Odex and Deodex. I have ran a few different roms but really prefer to do alot myself. What I'm asking though is can I download this to be my primary rom bit still be able to load custom themes since it's Deodexed?
