its so easy to ROOT the firmware , why do you find it so difficult
and if you want a rom already rooted search in this forum you will find many custom roms which are already rooted ........
and building your own rom is a super natural power which you are born with you can not learn it ( i had no other option than telling him this , cozz wanting to build an own rom just for the pain of rooting sounds #$%@*#$$##$

Thank you for answer, but i didn't means that root is difficult,I mean that i just want to make my own rom then i can share it ,and i don't think build a rom is boring beacuse i had build the WM's ROM before,so if someone could tell me how to do it .If you konw how to do ,could you tell me something?
you put the su application where it belongs and you give it setuid 0
check how the update.zip of the "root zips" do it and you just replicate it in the rom
if theses info were not enough you should indeed start by learning linux etc
A friend of mine asked me to root his phone for him. I personally have a rooted and ROM'ed Samsung Epic so this is not exactly new to me. My first question is what is the best way to root and ROM this phone? After searching around my head is spinning a bit about this. For my Epic I was able to do a one click root that also installed CWM. After that I was able to use Clockwork to flash new ROM's and kernels.Second the reason he gave me for wanting to root was to be able to have WiFi tethering. Am I going to need to install a custom ROM for his phone or is there an app that will give him this feature once we have his phone rooted? Thanks in advance for all of the help!
Quickest, basic answer...
For Root... [APP]SuperOneClick v2.3.2
For the tethering question, he will have to check out a Rom that offers it as one of the options (most do). Don't ask what Rom is recommended, he will have to make the choice depending on his preferences to the specifics offered in a Rom. There are plenty of choices here... Captivate Android Development
Your right about the ROM so I removed the question. I guess I was looking for some recommended ROM's that were stable and everything worked. Thanks!
Dear guys...
I am absolutely new for Window phone, 3 days experience after fed up with Samsung's Omnia long times ago...
So forgive me even my question is tooooooo noop but, trying to find out strong reason to flash custom rom on stock Mango...
Well, I have used Android phone for a long time with flashing every single rom available until no more fun, ..
So I bought HD2 and flashed Mango custom rom and also Android as dual boot. I understand to flash Mango custom rom to WM 6.5 on HD2 as I used terrible WM 6.5 before...
Mango made me soooo exited with totally different concept compare to Android as I already bored with Android...
So decided to stick to Mango phone from now on then again I bought HD7 and I compared side by side with HD2 running on custom Mango rom (as both devices have same spec of hardware..) and I couldn't find out differences between custom rom (on HD2) and stock (on HD7).
Question is,
Why should flash custom rom to HD7 which is already on Mango ?
For Android, there is huge differences between stock and custom rom for the function, speed and UI but what will be the main benefit to flash custom rom for WP7 ?? Just prepare for flash unofficial upgraded version of Mango or WP8 ????
Another question is,
Even flashing custom rom, there is no problem to log in to Marketplace as no problem on stock rom ???
This log in problem is major issue on HD2 custom rom, that's why I decided get HD7 to experience all the function of WP7....
Appreciate your advise and guide in advance,....

first, welcome to the WP7 family.
now, to answer your questions...
allows you to install non-Marketplace applications
numerous tweaks implemented by Custom ROM's chef
latest WP7 versions
etc.
one can still install apps from official Marketplace
that answer your two questions?

Hello guys, sorry for making this kinda silly thread, because im really new on this phone.
What i wanna ask is..
1. Which baseband / firmware is better and compatible for flashing the custom rom on dev section,i dont really care about region as long it suits well, im on DXLXE from Indonesia
2. Which custom rom is better with very minimum bugs / zero bugs that came from Jellybean
3. My phone is just root with cwm now, my friend gave me the link for update including the CWM, is there any other thing for me to know before flashing into custom rom and kernel
Thank you before
Thread closed as its a Best ROM/baseband etc thread.
Hello, and nice forum you guys! It has been really helpful so far
Now i know how to root my Xperia V (its rooted already) and so, but heres my problem:
Like som many other people, i want to play this Pokémon Go game, and it requires Android 4.4 (or higher). My Xperia V is 4.3 (9.2.A.2.5) but I need to upgrade android to 4.4 at least, but I would like to have 5 or 6 if possible.
I've been like a week trying to install recovery mode, without luck.
I don't know how to effectively instal CWM or TWRP
I don't know the REAL way to enter recovery mode in this device (I've seen A LOT of options but with other xperia models)
I don't know if I can install a new stable version of Android
PLEASE! any detailed help is apreciated, as I'm really a noob in this mobile thing
Thanks in advice!
PS: I know there are a lot of old threads about this, believe me I've read them all... but still I don't understand a lot of things or can't get it to work
Sorry for my broken english
