I recently bought an iphone and locked up my precious G1 in my memory box. This forum is such a great place and i will surely miss you all! (Until i save enough dough to buy a Nexus One! )

Who started the new xda iphone site?

The xda admins/mods. There was a topic about it. Search for it. It was made as a joke but due to many people coming here and asking about icrap developement the website is actually being built.

I've spoken to a 14yo chef on XDA. He has posted at least one ROM here. Remarkable really considering at that age i was probably putting away my Transformers in favour of playing with a Rubix Cube.

Your generation has had the privileged of growing up with technology. At 4 years old, my son is finding his way to netflix and navigating around pbskids and neopets. He knows how to turn the volume up on my laptop and pull up paint. I didnt even teach him those things! He learned by himself. What ever happend to legos and building blocks?

I'm only 23, and I grew up at the same time technology did. My family didn't have a computer until 2000.
My 6 year old nephew, however, owns a netbook and a PS3.

20 going on 21, got to say the 23 year old got it right.
We didn't even own a computer till sometime in early 2001 or 2002.
For entertainment all I did was either play SNES or play with my friends, went on adventures and ****.
Kids these days have technology and grow up with it, it gives them an advantage to learn quick about electronic stuff.

I mean I got one when I was 14 but that was because I had a job and payed for everything phone and plan (my mom wouldn't buy anything for me unless it was for school or maybe clothes)

I'm 17 and been a member, albeit under a different name since I was 14. Had a HTC hero. Rooted customized etc. Now have a desire hd and Samsung omnia 7. Zfr3ak who cooks flyer ports is only 14/15 I believe :O

I honestly don't see the point of owning and android phone AND an android pad... same with having an iphone and ipad
if I had an iphone, I'd look at android pads
I was looking at the new ipad too... but I can't see myself using it for anything more than I use my phone or laptop for so I don't see the point

I was thinking about the newer ipad too, but I ended up buying a $1000 laptop instead. Lol

It makes a lot of since to have have both apple or both android. You can use your purchased apps on both devices from the same company. But you can't use your ios apps on your android and your android apps on ios. You would have to buy them all over again.

That display is really something to behold. Never seen anything like it before. Would I buy one? Nope. Would I buy an Android tablet? Nope. I have 0 use for both of them at this point.

not sure if there is a jailbreak for the new ipad but i know you can make it look like an android tablet.

Nothing wrong with that, looks like a decent machine. I am waiting out for a decent and decently priced quad core Android tablet. Sticking with one library of apps rather than investing in two. But some of the serious apps I wish to have on android might be awhile.

I have five of these selling on Ebay right now. They are going for 700 each. I tried for one hour and I was done with it and android has so much more to do than ios 5.1.

I unfortunately can't justify buying a tab. I want one. I bought my girlfriend the Nook Tablet and her roommate uses it more than she does. I think I'm gonna take it and put CM7 on it.

[R.I.P.]Broken Grouper

Damn, i accidentally dropped on to the tile floor and landed on the corner... R.I.P. (2012-2013) my trusty N7. Now i am facing a new problem: a new tablet. I am tempted to buy an ipad as it may partially replace my laptop on certain school days. however the 32gb grouper is only $250 here, also a good buy. what should i do?

yeah, but it is much harder to obtain a n10 here in aus than say America. so i decided that i am going to get an ipad, and i did. not to worry guys, my brother who lives with me still actively uses his grouper (a lot) so i an still gonna be around for the next few months thanks for the sympathy and i do appreciate that a lot. fingers crossed for your beloved n7. may the case be with you (if you catch what i mean).

Because apple is better. NO. Because here in Australia good android tablets are as hard to find as it is easy to find iPads. There really aren't many choices things like n10 is just to complicated to obtain. That's why, if I am given a CHOICE, I will choose android every time, but here there isn't any choices.

Which iPad? The 4 is hardly a bad tablet-- I was thinking of trading in my iPad 3 (the performance bump from the 3 to the 4 is really quite nice), but ultimately didn't have time to go in today and the promotion is over. Honestly, I like it more than any of my Android tablets because the thing is rock solid no matter what, but I do a lot of my tinkering on my Android tabs so it's at least partially my fault.

I would wait and acquire the nexus 7 second generation.
