NO,
It is Snapdragon 805
SD805 isn't supposed to be available until May/June so unless Samsung is going to wait it will ship with the SD800 and Exynos 6, and likely in the fall we will see a SD805 iteration for S.Korea only like they did with the GS4 SD800 iteration.
That screen shot is confirmed fake. Zoom in on the 20.0, obvious bad photoshop.

There's no way Samsung is going to launch it with the S800. This is their flagship device and Samsung is kinda The king when it comes to specs.

If that was the case then why did the GS4 ship with the S600 only to release an updated version in S.Korea with the S800 months later. Samsung is the master of product spam (not saying its bad) but it does get annoying when you want the top of the line Samsung phone and then they ship an updated version 4-5 months later.

That move proves that Samsung will never ever ship the S5 with the S800. Samsung is king when it comes to specs, they released an updated version of the S4 with the S800 because they want their phone to have the latest specs available. When they launched the S4 worldwide the S800 wasn't available at the time so they had no choice but to use the S600. Besides, every high end phone from 2013 rocks the S800. You really think Sammy is going to settle for that for their flagship device? Absolutely not, it just does not make any sense.

Actually it doesn't. They released the updated S4 with the S800 but ONLY in S.Korea no one else got it and Carriers had already signed their contracts to carry a specific product. Who knows maybe we are getting the S805 or not we will see in 3 days.

You think the S5 could launch with the same processor that Samsung used for the S4 in Korea ( the S800 model) and the same processor as the 2013 flagship phone like the note 3, G2, nexus 5 and such when apple is getting ready to release their A8 processor? come on now thats just common sense. Samsung is not going to release an S5 with the S800.You can make fun of me if they do announce that monday ( i know that will never happen cause it just doesnt make any sense at all).

One has nothing to do with the other. If Samsung plans on shipping the GS5 in March/April then it WON'T have the S805 since it won't be available until May/June at the earliest based on reports which means Samsung would not have it for the GS5 Standard, now its very possible the GS5 Premium may launch later on and ship with the S805 but that is speculation.
We will know for sure on Monday since they will very likely state the launch times then.

The GS4 LTE-A used a 8974-AA, which became available in Q2 2013, if the GS5 uses a S800 it'll probably be the 8974-AC that has a higher clock speed and with sampling availability starting in Q4 2013. The S805 availability started this quarter so I don't think that there would be enough time to get tens of millions of it ready for the launch.

as others have already said in this thread. the snapdragon 805 is not even in production yet. how are they going to put the 805 in the gs5 when there are none available? this is taken from snapdragons website "The Snapdragon 805 processor is sampling now and expected to be available in commercial devices by the first half of 2014." notice it says first half of 2014 not first quarter. the snapdragon 800 that they will use will be the beefed up one that's 2.5ghz. like the writing on the box says in this OP. that soc also comes with a beefed up 330 gpu. so technically it's not the same soc that's in other flagships that are out now, it's a little better. i bet they bring out a refresh of the gs5 with the snapdragon 805 when they can actually start putting them in their phones. just like they did the gs4 with the snapdragon 800 since it originally launched with a snapdragon 600. hopefully this time the refreshed gs5 wont only be available in korea like the refreshed gs4 is.

Samsung is rumoured to have a version called the 2K Galaxy S5 Prime up its sleeve. As the name suggests, it'll have a 2K screen, also known as QHD (as in "Quite High Definition", no, okay "quad HD"), packing 2560x1440 pixels rather than the current S5's 1920x1080.
Within Samsung's hallowed halls, the 2K Galaxy S5 Prime is said to be known by the codename 'KQ', with the model number SM-G900. A handset with that model number was recently spotted on a shipping database. It's reportedly being used for research and development purposes.
So why not launch the S5 with the better screen in the first place? That was the plan, according to SamMobile, but it was abandoned due to production issues. These are currently being ironed out, and the hi-res S5 should be with us this year.
Hopefully it is soon. It would be nice if they offered some type of trade in for all the people who might want to upgrade from the s5. I think moto did something similar with the X? They gave people the option to return theirs for a wood back one for 50 bucks or something.
Although it might not be worth it. Would need to have similar battery life or that would be a deal breaker.

Samsung to launch Galaxy S5 Prime in June
This is what I hope:
1. At least 32GB for internal memory.
2. The replaceable/removable battery.
3. A micro SD card slot for external storage of up to 128GB.
In addition to all of the other enhancements over the current S5.
I will have no respect for Samsung if this is true. They outright said to us that there will be no "premium" Galaxy S5. If that is true, it might not be an "S5" it might be part of another series.
These are the specs released on the news.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime Specifications:
5.2” , 2560 x1440 display
2.5 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor
Andreno 420 GPU
3 GB RAM
32 GB of storage
16 MP camera

Those were actually the initial rumoured specs for the generic S5... So whichever journalist dug those up should be fired for being incredibly slow.
planned marketing
Yeah they do that kind of thing all the time, release a nice phone with a few features of current technology missing, then a few months later they release one with the better tech so people upgrade. If there aren't free upgrades (which there won't be since it's not a fault) it's just a planned marketing strategy to make more money. yay!
I dont think they will release anything else to kill the S5 they have just released this year. They smart enough not to **** with those who has purchased the S5.
Analyst assumptions was the S5 Prime was to shore up their product offering before the two new iPhones launch, but now it is reported the new Prime might just be a small launch due to cost of display production.
If this is true, the iPhone 6 will likely destroy Samsung in sales. First big iPhone display and an even faster/efficient chipset than the i7, which is already faster than the S801. This might be the first time since the S2 where the iPhone trumps Samsung.
I am not an iPhone fan, so do not find this potential scenario of revived dominance a good thing. I do like the iPad Air though, in spite of my Android affliction. That said, Kitkat's killing of sd card writes ofr third party apps is making Android more like iOS....

I think that if Samsung released the S5 Prime, then it would anger a LOT of people.
However, I'm not quite sure how you got the impression that Apple's Cyclone based A7 chip is faster than the i7. Quite simply put, it's not.
Look at the Geekbench comparison down further on the page: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4700MQ-vs-Apple-A7
Even if the score were four times higher, it still wouldn't match up with the MOBILE version of the i7 Haswell.
Things get spaced even farther apart when you compare it to a desktop class i7 Haswell: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4770K-vs-Apple-A7
I agree with you in terms of iPhone 6 sales outpacing that of the S5. Apple usually sells more, and has more loyal followers.

besides. S3 LTE is about 2 years old model. not that old to quit all support.

Report says that Samsung won't use Snapdragon 810 in Galaxy S6, overheating issues to blame
By Harish Jonnalagadda | Jan 21 2015 | 4:25 am | 12 Comments
Samsung
Over the last few years, Samsung has stuck to a release model for its flagships that sees the inclusion of Qualcomm chips for LTE markets, and Exynos-based variants in South Korea and emerging markets. That may change with the Galaxy S6, as a report out of Bloomberg states that Samsung won't offer a Snapdragon 810 variant of the Galaxy S6 on grounds of overheating issues.
Citing people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg says that Qualcomm's eight-core Snapdragon 810 "overheated during the Korean company's testing," with Samsung finally deciding not to use it altogether. Samsung will instead launch the Galaxy S6 with an in-house Exynos SoC. The South Korean manufacturer has been making huge strides in the field of application processors, with the latest version featuring an integrated LTE modem.
Samsung isn't far off in terms of processing power when seen against Qualcomm's offerings, but the vendor, along with everyone else in the segment including MediaTek, Intel and Nvidia, are miles behind Qualcomm when it comes to LTE modems. For instance, Qualcomm announced that it will offer the Snapdragon 810 with an LTE Category 9 modem that can attain download speeds of up to 450 Mbit/sec.
If Samsung is indeed looking to boycott the Snapdragon 810, it may be in the minority, as LG's G Flex 2 has Qualcomm's eight-core SoC, and HTC's upcoming One M9 is also expected to feature Qualcomm's latest.

Why should they do that when they have been using Qualcomm for past many years? It's a business, not fight among kids where you need to give a useless logic. If Samsung just wanted to use Exynos, they would simply do so without even talking about Qualcomm. There is no logic to giving any sort of explanation.

The Exynos 7 is so powerful it may have the 810 trumped. I wish the SD 805 had issues that forced Samsung to go with only the Exynos 5433 on the note 4, lol. Exynos is now top of the line. The days of the octa 5420 (which is still very powerful) are over. The cat 9 of the 810 is impressive though

Well it's all rumours until the phone actually shows up, personally don't mind either one, as both the Snapdragon and Exynos (which one though?) seem to be beasts.
But some modders might not like the Exynos

@harish Jonnalagadda, why are you mentioning Cat 9 modem as it is of much importance here? Samsung already is planning for in-house Cat 10 modem, so why suddenly Cat 9 be of any importance. Forget Cat 9/10, how many regions can actually exceed Cat 6??

Bit of a worry really, as if it is a problem with the 810 chip itself, the other vendors will have issues. On the other hand, if it is simply the design of the S6 that is to blame for the issues then Sammy are not doing such a great job.
Either way, I'm glad I'll be skipping this years offerings, hopefully 2016 will have stable CPU choices, 2K with no lag and type C USB

If the overheating issues are a fact, then Samsung would have an edge if they designed a mean SoC. Especially if their competitors are going for the 810.
I've also been missing the Wolfson DAC, since the Exynos version is impossible to find unless I'm looking abroad. Would be nice to have that opportunity.
With all the reported issues in the 810, I'd avoid any phone based on it, and wait for one based on the 820.
It would be better if Samsung stuck to one CPU per Galaxy model though, IMO, I remember the Note 2 being Exynos globally, if I'm not mistaken?

That's correct, the Note 2 was quite strange in that it was only Exynos which I was sure was an error since most other Samsung devices used Qualcomm in the US and some other territories but it does seem to be the case.

That's correct, there were variants with different radio support but they all used the Samsung Exynos platform rather than Snapdragon. I initially assumed a friend in the US was wrong when he said his US Note 2 was Exynos but when I read up on it I couldn't find any variants using a Snapdragon platform.

Hm, I didn't know! Usually, we get the SD where I live. Our S3 was Exynos. I stand corrected.
snapdragons this generation and the next suck so im happy they decided to ditch it for the s6. maybe we will get a 64 bit kernel for our note 4s finally if they go all in on exy 7s for the s6.

Personally, i give a damn on what processor the Note 5 will use (as that will be my next phone or maybe the Note 6). Because what matters to me is that the CPU and ofc the GPU gives me good performance and as long as i can root and install a good custom ROM on the Note without any hassles or problems, then i will be all happy.
I know there are more support for the Snapdragon CPU's when it comes to custom ROM's, but i do believe it's alright for the Exynos version to if i'm not wrong here?

Agree. I tried out Note 4 with SD at Best Buy and decided to go with Exynos version. The lags and stutters on SD version are too obvious. Also not happy with audio/music quality on SD DAC.

You mean you don't give a damn? Anyway, CPU performance is hardly a problem these days. A lot more of it is in software optimization. The support for the SD SoCs is a lot bigger, since it's everywhere. More closed source SoCs, like the Exynos, are only to be found in Samsung's phones. It's harder to develop a proper CM for it due to closed source libs, but some of the most skilled developers in here are still doing some amazing work.

I see, thanks
Personally, I think Samsung should go for the Exynos, as Qualcomm has hardly any competition. With Samsung being one of the biggest manufacturers, I think it can make a huge difference. If Samsung is just consistent, using only the Exynoses in their flagships at least.
Exynos Note 4 users can expect a increase in Android development if the chip used in the S6 is similar enough =)

Hi all,
Just wanted to start some discussion here on the new variant of the Note 4.
Supposed to be coming with the Exynos 5433 and South Korea release only.
Personally I've got the S5 and have been very tempted by the Note 4 but 64 bit support and much faster/better battery life sounds like the one.
The S6 might be pretty great too though. We'll see what the exporters are offing this for soon enough I guess (supposed to launch this week).
What are your thoughts?
It's been out at Korean carriers for a bit now.
Comes in some new colours.
Some online resellers are starting to carry it.
28mobile for one has it now at about 1k usd. Their prices are a bit high I find.
welectronics has it for $849 usd. Confirms it's running 5.0.1
Looks like xtmobile has it for about $700 usd.
Think it's running 5.0.1. Bit of conflicting info around.
Yes it's available at some stores like 28mobile however that benchmark was done Dec 10 when they were testing it with the Snapdragon 810, at 64-bit from what it seems.
It is released with Exynos 5433 and 3-band CA CAT 9 Support as you can also see on the pictures of the packaging on 28mobile.
Also Samsung site confirms it is the 1.3 1.9 octacore CPU:

Yeah. I questioned that benchmark. Multicore seemed a little slow and 5.0 is listed which isn't right.
I was aware it's the 5433 and not 810 but this updated version is supposed to be 64 bit.
Yeah, the most recent benchmark of SM-N916S:
http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/1883762
shows it runs 32-bit Android 5.0.1.

Thanks. Not sure how I didn't see that before..
Dammit.. No 64 bit. That's dissapointing.
has anyone purchased this phone? i got mine a few days ago and didn't even notice it was not the general note 4 (SM-N910S) in korea.
I got the N916S the other day. Apart from some SKT bloatwares (which I have disabled or hidden) and some issue with the 70 characters maximum in messages, there are no issue using it.
This is probably the rarest variant of the note 4 so atm I haven't found any rom cooks or how-to-root for it yet
N916 is rootable. I have the kt variant and as long as you can follow a tutorial written in Korean you're good.
As far as ROMs go, I am wondering if the exynos based ROMs for the N910 will work. The hardware should be identical aside from the radios.

Anyway you could translate those instructions for those of us who don't read korean?
I just got mine yesterday. I'm getting a hard time looking for custom ROMs and rooting instructions
Hi I have this version of Note 4 (N916S) and I want to root it but I dont know which tutorial should I read. I don't know which version of Note 4 should I follow. is it N910C or N910H. Do you guys have any recommendation thread about this? already asked in Q&A Thread but no response
Hello Note 4 users and lovers.
I've created a petition for official note 4 Nougat update.
Please sign and share if you can.
Thanks

Petition only applies to users of F version. Why does not include C version users?

Dude, we're still getting monthly security updates and we should be thankful for that. If you want the latest and greatest Android version, upgrade your phone. Note 4 is old, it's acceptable if it doesn't received Nougat.

Your petition is biased.
Why not SM-N910 to make it general?
Anyway I'm of the opinion that since the phone was released in October 2014, it should be updated to Nougat because its two-year OS eligibility falls within the time Nougat was officially released by Google.
Not to mention we would have a Note7 by now if Samsung hadn't messed it up. But I agree, the petition is not inclusive for all models .
I only said that I have the F version. I didn't said that only that version deserved the update.

I agree completely, it should be N910 in general but I saw the OP reply below and he is correct that the petition he wrote it just stating his model and not to get nougat only for the F model. I also agree with the second point and have been sort of annoyed with Samsung for this, it's supposed to be 2 year OS update so as mentioned, Oct. 2014 for Note 4 launch and since Nougat came out in August 2016 we should have it. Add to that, a lot of us Note 4 owners bought, and ultimately lost, the Note 7's thanks to Samsung and as a gesture to sort of make up for that they should have added the Note 4 to the Nougat release.
Anyway going slightly off topic;
I love my Note 4 but am ready for a new device. Personally, I love the s-pen and hate to give it up but if the pricing rumors hold true and the conversion to Canadian is somewhat accurate it would be in the $1300 range (give or take) for the S8 so Note 8 would likely be in the same price range. No way will I accept those prices but I will wait and see with the S8 info that comes later today and decide from there. The Note 7 was $1050 CDN, I won't support Samsung if the Note 8 is anything above MAX $1100 CDN and less than 64GB storage (and better have expandable) as that is expensive enough as it is and pushing it IMO.
I'm waiting to see the OnePlus 5 later this year and will likely buy that if Samsung starts going to ridiculous Apple prices. Google also lost me after the Pixel phones being ridiculously overpriced as well. I mean, they want more for the Pixel XL than Samsung wanted for the Note 7... WTF Google?!? That's like LG and HTC thinking they can price at the same range as Samsung as well when they have so little to offer or reason to buy over Samsung and especially over some of these new phones from OnePlus, Huawei, etc... but $1180 for 128GB Pixel XL/$1050 for 32GB Pixel XL compared to $1050 for 64GB Note 7 and well the Note 7 was the far better deal, and phone.
Anyway, that's my rant/2 cents lol.
As long as you are all in signing mode, here is a petition where you can state all you want in the Note8
