only reason why im doing it, is cuz of ics, i just cant wait 3 months or so for it to be released on the sgs2 =/
Not to troll or anything, I think the Gnex is a great phone also but I read up on that forum that a lot of people are also having some screen issues with that phone.

Same here. There will be some beneficial changes & fine-tuning, but I think it's mainly hype over having the next new thing. Same reason iFans stand in line for hours to get the new fruit phone that has a few slight differences, lol I'm actually not looking forward to ICS too much just because I foresee a lot of app compatibility issues.

I played with galaxy nexus and its an awesome phone, ics is the shizzle...the screen is also a lot better than the gs2 (more vibrant)(resolution) also there is great development going on for the gn...I would buy it, but non contract price is ridiculous ...so ill pass....plus we should see a leak of ics soon...even better galaxy s3 shows her body and talents

If you were using a g2x I could see paying the off contract price for a GN, but if you are using a SII is it that hard to wait 2 or 3 months for an off contract international SIII?

I've thought about getting a Windows Phone. Specifically the Lumia 521. I love the UI and hardware but I think not having apps like Instagram would be hard (its my favorite social network). I have also thought about the LG L9.

I've thought about the One S or the iPhone 5 because no one has the One S that I know and everyone that I know has an iPhone, and I feel left out. XD

The iPhone 5 is nice. Especially the camera. I would get one but I cannot afford it. I would get the iPhone over the One S, better hardware and the new iOS update should be pretty remarkable with Johnny Ive handling it.

One s, you can always count in devs for android devices. The iPhone us crap, my uncle gas one and so dies my brother and they hate it. It's worst then thus pine in my honest opinion

I might get a nexus 4 or an Htc phone/S4. I'm still debating to get an iPhone though, since only one of my friends has them.

Good luck with that. Theres going to be a day when apple loses its spot in the spotlight and goes after everyone who jailbreaked there software to make up for loss. Just like im sure they had something to do with making phone unlocking illegal.

Hello guys, i just wanted you to know that i sold my Galaxy Mini, due to the fact that the development its almost over for this platform and because i want a bigger screen and a faster CPU. All the threads that i created will pe closed i can no longer support the device. It was fun while it lasted, this was my first device with Android that got me started with this operating system . Then wait for some time and save money. Do u think I had that much money? It is almost impossible for me to put that much money for a phone specially when I have to pay lots of money for college. But I waited for about 3-4 months, my mom and I collected money and finally bought the beauty. Now, you already have that much money to put on a galaxy s3 why not to wait a little, collect money and buy N4 , I would have done this if I was in your place. Remember, you are not going to buy that much expensive phone everyday so save some money and buy a good one. Come on, there is a little difference in price of S3 and N4 even if u make a deal with your provider. There will be little difference. Now its ur wish

Seems like many of the DEVs have left Sprint for Verizon and/or decided they like their Note2's better.A lot of the rest all seem to be obsessed with AOSP/AOKP/CM Roms despite the fact that it removes most of the functionality that makes this phone great.
Unfortunately the blind hatred of TouchWiz for no good reason is hurting this phone.

There are as many good roms for the Sprint version as there are for the others. Also, you guys should feel lucky that that Sprint has felt charitable enough to not lock this device down like Verizon and AT&T have as devs are indeed leaving those versions even as we speak.....

I don't even think I have seen a single Dev from either the epic touch community or gs3 go from sprint to Verizon.I've seen ATT and T-Mobile. Anyways we have many great devs in our community. And you can't expect every single one that you like to get the same phone as you. Since we don't all have upgrades at the same time. Some may have used it on a gs3 and now can't upgrade until gs5 or simply don't have the money to upgrade. We are all regular people. My guess is that by black Friday time we will have many more devs come over. This happened with the gs3. The number of Roms jumped a lot from what I remember since some people were able to get the gs3 for a penny with an upgrade.
And since when is there a blind hatred for touch wiz. Over the past two years I have seen more people prefer Touchwiz Roms over AOSP based. Easy comparison, check the number of posts and views of all aosp based Roms to that of touchwiz. And tell me which one has more. This goes for the sprint gs3 as well. From my view Touchwiz is the most stable and fully functional ROM for Samsung phones.

We have solid roms. Also take note this phone is still fairly new. Another thing to remember is that many people use stock rooted since this phone provides a rock solid experience. We got official cm support pretty much at launch the s2 never was like that

I think op is referring to omega and other roms being ported. I seem to recall some devs not wanting th roms ported by others, but did say they would port it themselves.

I just got recruited for a U.S. study of Gear owners.
Sounds pretty standard - Samsung are trying to figure out to how make things better and paying $200 to participants willing to give Galaxy Gear feedback for about 2 weeks.
Not sure how many they're taking but I spoke to a Jairo Rojas at the research company they hired at 818-530-1004 if anyone wants to get in on it. I got recruited because I also did a focus group in Los Angeles a while back.
Seems pretty cool way to make Gear better and make a little side cash..

I am too old and cynical for this. Could be true, but if they ask for too much personal information, or money, then stay away, is what I would recommend.
If all turns out great, then that would be wonderful, but this is the Internet we are talking about, so be wary.

I know I got recruited because I participated in the past in focus groups with this company in LA so I know they're legit. While not a much fun as beer focus groups, I thought it relevant to share since we all want to see Gear get better.
I'm sure Google is doing similar things with Glass owners, etc. Plus the money never hurts as well.

Samsung is learning now, real time, as everyone uses the products. Gear2 will be a great version. They will pack as much crap in there as they can because, it's setting the bar for the rest of wearable tech.

I have some reservations about this statement. This is not the case, as they are trying to keep this product in a certain price point. As with most tech, small and incremental improvement, ie "refinements" are more likely on the future horizon.
