Well I have just read the review of the XZ over on Endaget http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/20/sony-xperia-z-review/
and I'm happy that Sony have implemented the use of Spotify and other apps from the lockscreen! "Since last year's Xperia models, we can now welcome Google Now to the fold, while Spotify and other apps are now accessible from the lock screen."
This has made me so happy and I really hope this doesn't mean you can access it from the notification bar in the lockscreen, I missed this feature from my HTC One X; Samsung don't offer it with TouchWiz unless you have a password, where it defaults to vanilla JB lockscreen.
Can anyone that has a XZ confirm this please?? :fingers-crossed:
I really hope this is correct, it's a small feature I know, but god it makes life so easy for me!
This has been available on all 2012 Xperia's since ICS, by the way. The lockscreen controls use the standard Android API's, which means any app that plays music and implements them can show up on the lockscreen. One of the Sony niceties!

Hey all,
I am fairly new to Android after being long time lover of all things Apple related however felt that change was needed. My phone is the Sony Xperia Z which is sweet however the look of the phone does feel some what dated and could do with an tart up as we say.
Downloaded Nova Launcher Prime however I really don't have a scooby doo of what to do or how to achieve anything special.
Has anyone got an experience with producing decent quality but useful looking home screen etc please?
Any tips would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Scott

Hi All,
I've been switching roms since I got my Z (bundled with a BE Proximus contract for 1€, yeay) but so far I keep reverting back to the stock ROM.
There are still some issues with most CM based ROMS (eg. audio bug when switching to speakerphone) and I really like the Sony camera app for it's image quality and speedy burst mode.
On the other hand: the DPI size of the UI is terrible, the app icons are soo huge and there's no way to customize how big you want things to appear on this amazing 1920x1080 screen. I tried with the xposed framework to set custom dpi's as seen in the Paranoid rom / PAC rom, but the original launcher can't handle this properly: it sticks to 4 column grid and positions things completely wrong. Also the lockscreen sliders are not scaled as well, the Phone app looks messed up, in short, it looks terrible as soon as you want any of the Sony apps to be using a different dpi. You can adjust other apps like Gmail or the Play store though.
Since Sony released an AOSP project for the Xperia Tablet Z as well, I wonder if it would be possible to use the official firmware for the Xperia Tablet Z on the Xperia Z.
Has anyone any ideas how to investigate this? I'm definitely willing to spend some time on this one, I'd love to see my phone's amazing screen being used as a Tablet Z whilst still using the same camera and other Sony optimizations.
Kind regards,
Erik
Xperia Z has it's own official AOSP project http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297927
Lots if things don't work though due to closed source proprietary drivers and there's not really much Sony can do about that.
Ok, I understand that the AOSP projects are far from finished. So my question should be then: is it possible to install a FTF file for the Xperia Tablet Z on the Xperia Z? So we could have the Xperia Tablet Z features on the Xperia Z?
Kind regards,
Erik
No, if flashtool allows flashing it at best it wouldn't boot, at worst it would brick your XZ. Which features specifically do you want from the XTZ?
I have a special request for the devs, geek or whoever can do the trick.
I'm using an Xperia SP (c5303) with the latest eXistenZ ROM
It's about the multimedia apps of Sony. I think they are beautiful, great features and design but with a lack of options.
Would it be possible to add an option that permit to filter the folders used by the applications.
By default, the Sony apps are scanning the whole device and displays everything. And there is no way to configure that...in fact the options in theses applications are quite nonexistent.
I have got a folder (with subfolders) with my songs (Music) and another with my pictures (Contacts, miscellaneous pics, photos) and I want them to be the only folders used by the apps.
As I have got several others folders with pictures (Screenshots, drafts, ...) and audio files (voice recorded, tones, ...), I don't want them to be treated by the apps.
Typically an option to include media folders and another to exclude the rest.
Moreover, if it is possible to make the pictures appears by folders, it would be easier than having all the pictures appearing chronologically which, obviously, sucks.
For inspiration and exemple : Applications on the store that works this way : QuickPic for the Album and PlayerPro for the Walkman
Thanks by advance for reading and, maybe, your hard work on this. :fingers-crossed:
I will talk about that to an experienced guy to see if it is possible to add that with an xposed module.

Hello guys.
I know that your are pretty busy but I was wondering if you had time to work on these mods??
For the moment, I'm enjoying installing the other mods you are working on.
Just a little up.
Maybe you would have found time to work on that. Who knows??
I think the whole Xperia Community will behold your hard work with respect. :good:
As the title suggests i want to learn how to theme I have installed a bunch of different tools and just don't seem to be getting anywhere
For a start the idea is to do a theme for my xperia z3 compact
The problems i am having is i am unsure what i actually need to install and what i dont need...
So if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great thanks!
