Hi,
I would like to SIM unlock my HTC One which is locked to T-Mobile UK. It is completely stock and has Android OS 4.3 at the moment. I haven't unlocked the boot loader or done S-OFF.
After my search:
I have seen an XDA post for Sim-Unlocking Sprint HTC One but I am not sure if it will work for my HTC One.
Another post on XDA shows methods to SIM Unlock Your HTC ONE M8
An external site has this solution for CDMA variants of HTC One..
Has any one used any of these methods or Is there any similar solution for my phone?
Thanks

Hi, I'm actually new to htc android devices specifically.
I saw recently that htc will release a developer edition of htc one m7 with unlocked bootloader and sim.
This version of this phone is only for USA or zip .. and in limited quantity.
What I want to ask is : If I buy the regular htc one m7 ( not the developer edition ), will i be able to s-off my device and unlock its bootloader or should i buy the developer edition to do that ?
I don't live in USA, that's why i'm asking.
Thanks everyone
Anyone can unlock the bootloader via the HTCdev web site on any HTC phone.
If someone finds an S Off exploit, which I believe should be possible, then the method will also work on non development edition of HTC One

The bootloader can be unlocked on the non developer edition. No-one can say for certain when we will have s-off though. We'll just have to wait for that to happen.
It's obviously up to you though whether you want to get the developer edition or not

Hi I have rooted and s-off'ed my HTC ONE but I do not know what version of recovery to flash.
There are options for t-mo Verizon sprint ect.... in the htc one toolkit but not for O2.
I am assuming I should install the international version...is this correct?
Also are the roms in this forum all compatible with a UK O2 model or do I need to be looking for something in particular.
Sorry for the Dumbass questions!!
All your assumptions are correct!

to help you out in the future.
International, T-mobile, AT&T, O2 = GSM
Verizon, Sprint = CDMA
Anything international will work for your phone.
Thanks just being ooo-ber careful with my new toy dont want to brick in the first few days

On the hardware side, both phones are exactly the same except the dev edition have 64gb memory instead of 32gb
Dev edition firmware normally get ota updates faster than others M7 (except this time with Sense 6, Canadian carriers released the ota a few days before). The dev edition is also bootloader unlocked out of the box so no need to unlock the bootloader trough htc dev and loose your warranty.
Today I updated to Sense 6 on my Verizon HTC One M7 with S-Off and unlocked bootloader and now when I unlock the phone it shows a message saying Unauthorized Device: This app is not compatible with your device.
I tried talking to HTC but they couldnt fix it.
**I am new to all this and I suck**

if you have a sprint htc one, better to ask you question in the sprint forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one

sorry mate my bad, i meant verizon. both sprint and verizon htc one are different from the gsm htc one variant and have their specific forum. This forum here is for the htc one M7_UL or M7_U gsm variant.

Hey there!
SO I'm just about to buy myself a M8 or Iphone 5 ( If No option ) For what I have read on this forum from yesterday seems like some Sprint M8's can't be unlocked ? The posts I read was from April maybe the Bad A$$ people might have fixed it already ? Please enlighten me on this I prefer the HTC one M8 but the second option is the Iphone 5... I've used a M7 that was ATT as my last phone I Unlocked that Via a Unlock code from a website for 15$ And I don't live in the USA I live in Sri Lanka :fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance have a good day.
Little hope for sprint ones.
You can download a file and flash it on the bootloader via the Sim Unlock option, but as much as i know it only worked for AT&T and T Mobile. You could give it a try though but i think theres a Risk of a brick

Bump ! help a bro out
I haven't heard anything about people not being able to SIM unlock the Sprint M8. The only issue I have heard about is that some cannot get S-Off without Sunshine (Which costs $25). There are several posts on this forum regarding SIM unlock. I have done it twice now and both times I was not in the US and thus not on Sprint's network. One time in Malaysia and one time in Costa Rica. The simplest is to install BadBoyz HK rom and then use the unlock method in their post. The unlock took about 5 minutes. You may need to enable other frequency bands on the phone, but that wasn't difficult either and there is a post in the general forum about how to do that.
how are you sim unlocking your sprint m8?
use bad boyz method, it works
but make sure you'r on bad boyz rom when you do the sim unlock, wont work with stock rom. after then sim unlock, you can go back to stock rom if you want to.
no need for s-off to sim unlock
