My phone is now fixed... YEY! Speakers working again.... But they replaced the whole unit apart from the front so the entire thing is new and thus latest firmware 1.57 hboot and S-ON....
Please tell me there's a way to achieve S-OFF? It's a conundrum even for an old hat like myself apparently lol....
Firewater works on some. If not then no

if firewater doesnt work, maybe the java card method will do, never tested myself, but ppl from the gpe thread (stuck with bootloader locked issue) got their phone s-offed with this method from fonefunshop.com
edit: the shop is in the UK btw, should not be an issue for you...

Hey there
I recently updated to 4.2.2 and of course it updated my HBOOT to 1.55. Unfortunately now no custom recovery has touch feed back. Is that a known issue or is there something wrong with my device? I am talking about TWRP and CWM specifically.
Thanks

You need to update to TWRP or CWM from the threads in the Original Development forum. The TWRP and CWM found on their respective sites is not up to date with the HTC One's latest touch driver.

Oh wow! I wish I knew that before I went ahead and rooted the device. I did make a Nandroid Backup using non-touch CWM recovery of the stock, unrooted ROM, however. Thank you! I will be installing the latest TWRP in the Original Android Development section once I find it.
Yep, the latest version of CWM-touch on One Original Development works! Thank you.

Not yet - the tool hasn't been released, but users have confirmed that one exists, and when the creator is ready it will be released for the masses.
So when intramorph quoted the OP saying he is on 1.54 he said get s-off while you can but then you can't yet anyway?

That's correct. Currently RELEASED s-off techniques ONLY work on hboot 1.44. Users in other threads (beta testers) have confirmed that there is a solution that works for hboot 1.54 (i think @beaups created it), but it has not yet been released to the public.
Fair enough just gotta wait then don't want to root until I have a way to go back to unroot and locked bootloader. Cheers

Not 100% sure I have seen some Info about some software called 'rumrunner' which can gain s-off on 1.54 hboot? Anyone aware of this and has any info? Thanks

Yes it looks like it's been released on rumrunner's site. The 2.24 builds brought hboot 1.54, so it should now work.

If you weren't aware rumrunner supports 1.55 now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487888
I decided to randomly check my phone and noticed although I am "Tampered" & "Unlocked", my phone now says S-On. It use to say S-Off. So my question is, what steps do i take to regain S-Off? My phone runs great with my custom rom. I just dont want to run into any future problems if and when i decide to flash something else. Thank you in advance for any help given.

You never had S-off.
Boot loader unlock and S-off are two different things.

There are no updates or progress reports on this kind of issue, they may or may not be working on it, and they may or may not find an exploit. Nobody really knows; though 1 user said he heard that revolutionary are working on hboot 1.55.

There is a ruu for your phone?
If yes, you can try to use it if the version main of your phone is the same.
But if you can't use a ruu, you have to go s-off, and after flash the ruu
No I think that there is no ruu for my phone. So what I have to do im completlu noob

You've to find a nandroid backup of your version main, and acheive the s-off for remove the tampered string.

I thought you knew by now that rumrunner isn't hboot dependent.
It might as well work with whatever firmware OP has.

works use sunshine method
There is no solution.
Only option is to use sunshine to soff.
Absolutely correct. Same exact thing happend to me. And yes, Sunshine s-off did resolve it. Has no affect on flashing roms and such, just annoying to have something like that on your bootloader.
