Well so far .205 was good but I have run into a pretty weird problem.
I was on my house WiFi using MX player to watch some videos and I was unable to get notifications from Whatsapp, BBM, Line unless I opened the app(s) I thought it was a memory problem and tried with only data. Again watching the video on MX player but this time arround I got notified instantaneously. Then i thought it was a problem with my ISP and tried a streaming app (ChrunchyRoll) and played an episode of a random show and I didn't have any problem streaming, but the problem with the IM apps not notifying me was present again.
Any thoughts on that? What could be causing this? I don't use any "performance" apps (no Cleam Master, Batery Doctor, etc.)
Thanks in advance.

If you think .205 is the problem, you can revert back to .201 or any before by flashing .ftf file. Otherwise, try factory reset. Possible problem can be hardware related - either phone or router.

The installation is fresh from a repair the only "strange" thing it has is root (using the toowelroot method) and a custom recovery.
The problem only happens in my house and wifi analyzer shows that I get disconnected quite often and that my house's router power is abnormally low. (It usually stays into the yellow zone of the gauge.)
So as you say maybe is my home router.

same thing happened to me . wifi was working pretty well until i repaired my sony xperia sp and it just disconnects at its own. very irritating
I'm on .205 firmware also lost wifi phone after falling asleep

Does anyone else have issues where their wifi will gradually slow down as the day goes on, eventually to a point where it takes 5 minutes to download a 500kb app?
I've ruled out router issues (every router I try this with, work, home, McDonalds etc!) gives the same issue. So it must be either a phone hardware issue, or a phone software / firmware issue.
Can anyone suggest a tool perhaps to help with debugging this?
I'm on 4.1.2 LQ4 with LightJB1.2 and CoCore E 6.0. I had the same issue on stock JB and had hoped that rooting / custom firmware etc would present the answer.
Clearly it could be an app, but I'm not using anything that other people out there aren't, so I'd expect the same issues to be experienced by others if I was having app specific issues (e.g. facebook, twitter, Spotify, dropbox, Chrome, youtube etc).
Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes, I've tried that (or something similar) in the past with no joy - I don't think that it is slowing down because one app is consuming a large amount of data, it feels more like a sort of "memory leak" on the wifi front (don't know if that's possible!).
I can see it clearly in things like speedtest, which most of the time will show 8-10Mbps download speeds over wifi, and then will eventually crawl down to 200kbps type speeds.
Switching the phone to airplane mode and back again does seem to reset the problem, so it is something I can work around - but I'd like to know what the issue really is as it is starting to annoy me!
Cheers!

Hey guys,
You can find a summary of what I've done to my HTC One in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48582638.
On top of that, I've changed my Cell ID to the Google Play version (GOOGL001), I flashed the RUU with the Google Play version RUU, and I've installed the 4.4.2 OTA update from Google's servers.
Everything else works fine. Just when I'm connected to WiFi, videos don't load on the YouTube app (Vevo as well, but I'm assuming it's the same issue). I've tried connecting to three different WiFi connections (my house, my work, my parents') just incase there was an IP conflict or something; and still the same problem.
Do you think this is a problem with what I've done to my phone, the 4.4.2 OTA update, or the YouTube app itself?
*UPDATE* - I found out that when I take out my sim card, streaming videos works on WiFi. It only doesn't seem to work when it's connected to both a mobile network and WiFi
Thanks.
- Brian
I have exact same problem on my HTC with 4.4.2. I also converted my HTC to Google play edition. And did 4.4.2 update. YouTube app Dr doesn't work on WiFi.. It's so frustrating..

I am having the same issue. I think it has to do more with wifi speeds than just YouTube. I have really poor Wifi down speed (less than 1mbps) and really fast upload speed (10mbps). There is something wrong here and it doesnt matter what rom I run, and I've narrowed it down that it is not my wifi router or service provider, I recently switched internet providers, and I doubt it is a hardware defect in my phone because my wife has consistent speeds to me on her One.
Long story short, I'm at a loss here on trying to figure out what is the root of this issue. Hope someone may figure out an answer.
OMG i have the same problem. I converted my htc one's CID then flashed the google RUU. I noticed after the 4.4 update youtube videos will not load on wifi. I tried in chrome as well and they dont load their either. I just get a message saying sorry video not available or something.
This is what happens
1. click on video to load.
2. video will start to load
3. youtube app shows loading of advertisement
4. app locks up for a couple sec
5. app comes back, but it just shows the loading circle indefinitely
I thought the update i sideloaded was corrupt or something so i reflashed the 4.2.2 RUU and then manually updated using OTA and it still did not work
Videos load flawlessly over my data connection. This issue has gotten me so frustrated i was actually trying to go back to a sense rom.

We should let this issue be known all over the web so it gets more coverage. Let's all try posting this problem on different websites and forums, so somebody will find a fix. Once a fix is found, we should post the solution back here.
I found by flashing the firmware over a new rom it will work until the phone is rebooted again (running 4.06 firmware, 4.2.2 rom)
Same problem since 4.4.2 update
I deleted the application data, clearing the cache and reinstalled the apk from the market but youtube is still stuck on the loading videos (over data or wifi both with good speed).
IDIT : it works after a reboot with wifi disabled!
Took so much effort to convert phone to GPE.. with 4.4 RUU.. updated to 4.4.2.. and youtube don't work on wifi..
That is my 75% used app.. It will send video fine to chromecast.. but won't play on phone..
Wifi only issue.. On mobile data works fine.. Tried all what i could.. reset phone.. delete data for youtube.. uninstall update for Youtube..
After two days of struggle.. restored my stock sense rom.. cant live without youtube..
It really sucks..

Yeah, lol. Tell me about it! If you look at my link at the top of this thread, you will see all the trouble I went through to get my HTC One to stock Android, and now video streaming doesn't work on WiFi.
I'm not switching back to HTC Sense UI though. I hate any version of Android that's not stock. Thankfully, I have a Nexus 5 I can use while waiting for a fix. I'm not completely switching over to a Nexus device because I like the front stereo speakers as well as the design of the HTC One.
I have a similar issue:
Youtube works after a complete reboot (and with wifi connected), but if I go off this wifi and back on again, it won't work until I reboot the phone again.

Hey guys,
I've just found something out. I found out that when I take out my sim card, streaming videos works on WiFi. It only doesn't seem to work when it's connected to both a mobile network and WiFi
I think I have found a solution to the problem. The ones of you that have root, try and install Adblock plus. It seems that everything works fine now. Please reply with your results.

Whoa, I didn't think this would do it, but it worked. I had AdAway installed and installed this alongside and it works just fine.
I'm just curious as to why it works this way now.. ?
I changed nothing it works now (no adblocker)...
Ok it stopped working? WTF!!!!!
It's stil working for me. The thing is I have only one Wi-Fi connection to test on.
Same problem converted gpe OTA 4.2.2 stock I have multiple WiFi and 2 different ISP no change. hope someone find a solution

I installed adblock plus and I still can't stream videos while connected to WiFi.
I dont think this is a wifi speed problem. My connection is 45/4 so i should have no problems with youtube. Mine still does not work
This was bothering me so much that I decided to install a non-GPE rom instead. I went for the Omni Rom 4.2.2 and it works just fine with the videos.
I will switch back to a GPE once this is sorted out, but I am ok with this setup now. Good luck!!
Hi,
I have an xperia z1 C9603 on android 4.4, recently something happened, I keep getting a message(the time between messages varying from 5 second to approx. 2 mins) in the lower region of the screen saying "Internet Connection is Enabled", I'm constantly connected through wifi at home and via data services otherwise, I'm curious what started to trigger this and feel concerned that it maybe some sort of malware or spyware working in the background which is causing this, also it seems switching off wifi seems to decrease the frequency of the messages. I have not made any change to network settings, my phone is on the stock rom and is not rooted as well. I have scanned it using dr. web anti-virus and kaspersky(which is currently installed) and have not found anything yet.
Any help on this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks! :good:

Maybe some of your System file for Modified?
I really don't know but reflash ftf may solve the problem
Okay, so I have been using this new phone(unlocked bootloader and rooted) for weeks already then all of a sudden, I noticed that when I play online games (ex. Ragnarok Mobile, Mobile Legends, Call Of Duty Mobile) the Wifi gets killed causing the game(s) to disconnect.
I've also made some troubleshootings and found that this only happens when I'm playing games but when I only scroll on facebook or messenger, the wifi connection does not disconnect. Weird, right? Has anyone of you also experience this when your POCO M3 Pro 5G is rooted?
~~ I'm currently reflashing to a clean stock rom and boot relocking. Will do some testing if it will fix the issue.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I don't know how to fix your wifi problem but in developer options there is a setting to always keep mobile data on, maybe this would be enough to stop game DC? Just an idea, but I don't play mobile games so not sure if it would help.
I've got a Question, I have the Mi 11 Ultra China variant with 8 GB RAM, unlocked bootloader and the official EU Stock Rom.
I noticed that in games even if they are low quality games with low graphics, they are some random Sound Lags.
They appear also with headphones so I suggest this is a Software problem.
I also had that problem with locked bootloader and the official China ROM, so does anyone have or noticed this lag too or I'am the only one?
Edit:
I found the Problem, If I play any games with WiFi turned on, the Sound starts lagging after some seconds , but with mobile data, everthing works perfectly.
Any solutions for that? I tried different WiFi connections and it only happens with WiFi turned on.

I dont think so, every app uses mobile data or WiFi, depending on what if have turned on
This seems for me like a Bad connection, but my Phone is the only device atm and I had never such problems like this in the past with my Phones

Okay so it only happens when you play online? Like with other people on a server? If that's the case i would guess you have a bad internet or wifi connection. So the phone wouldn't be the problem.

Even in Games that have no online play, just Serversided, I got those Lags and in offline games too.
And I know that I have got a very good connection in my country so that wouldn't be the case.
The phone itself is also new so the phone is not the problem, Software I would say
The thing is, my mobile data Connection is worse than my wifi connection.
It is not really the best, just for WhatsApp and so on
I'm out of ideas. I googled a little and other people who had such problems had either bad net latency or something running in the background. I agree that it seems to be some software problem but it's strange that it only happens with active WiFi.
I think it's Software related because my gf got the Mi10 and she has no Problems with WiFi connection turned on.
Let's hope that this will be fixed in the future.
I will Report that to xiaomi.
If someone finds a solutions, they can share them here.
So little Update from me,
Some of my Games that I play had an Update and all of them which had that Sound Problem with WiFi turned on have been fixed.
So NOW I would say it's a third Party App Problem or maybe a Android 11 compatibility Problem with some newer Devices.
