Open the battery flap, remove SD card, remove the tape dots from the T-5 torque screws then remove the screws. Slowly and carefully so as not to break any of the hooky thingies that are holding the back on pry the cover up from that point moving slowly around the unit.

Nevermind my last post. I was able to take out the battery. Thx on the much easier way of explaining the mwthod for the back cover removal. Now i need to buy a battery thats better than the nooks but i dont know which one. Anyway thx.
Were you able to successfully swap the battery?
My Nook Color no longer takes a charge. I used the ef out of this thing reading 4+ hrs a day, so I think I exhausted it. When I plug in usb, the 'n' lights up orange.
Would a battery replacement fix the issue?

Before you go that far the first thing you should do is go to CWM recovery and wipe battery stats. Then charge using the stock cable and brick until the orange light turns green, (overnight is usually more than enough).
I recently received my mother's well conditioned, but long used Atrix HD. I have already unlocked boot loader and rooted, butthe battery is about had it. In 30 min of general use, I drain 20-30% battery, or more. I even lose charge while charging. I know how to replace the battery, but the batteries that I see on Amazon vary in brand and amperage. Is there any specific EB20 battery that I should go with, or is the amperage the only thing to look for?

The 1,780 mAh one is the stock for us, but you should go for the razr Maxx Battery (EB40) It's 3200 mAh and is way better than stock one.
Thanks for the recommendation on the MB40, didn't realize it was compatible, with a little modding. Although not my go to, that is definitely my backup plan.

Ian, I fix phones as a hobby. I fix everything from the easily fixable Note IIs, to the impossible to open HTC Ones (M7 and M8).
So trust me when I say that if you know how to use a screwdriver and a pair of scissors you can can do this pretty easily. And if you are replacing the EB20 out, might as well stick the EB40 in there. Link is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906371
Basically, the only thing you need to be aware of is that you need to cut out some of the plastic to let the phone close up more or your speaker will not work.

Long time, no post. Thanks, I am ordering one soon, and I also realized that a part of my prob was that my USB wall charger was "shot" so to speak. Again, thanks for the find.
My battery died on me too soon getting new one
So I've had my Z3C for about a year and the battery swelled up and pushed the back glass off. I've got a replacement battery but I was wondering if there was any way to check whether or not the battery is a counterfeit. Any ideas?

If it has all required labels and descipions then it's genuine. I think there is no sense in faking such battery because it's too unique component to do so.

Cool, thanks!
What do you mean by counterfit? Are you wanting to know if the battery is a genuine OEM replacement or if it truly holds 2600mAh of electrical charge? If you only care about the charge, then you can just check the service menu or download a battery testing app.

Service menu on 5.1.1 does not allow checking the battery capacity anymore :C
I am thinking about doing that. I will have to replace my headphone jack as well, and while its open...
My battery now makes it threw the day, but only just.
Does anyone have a replacement battery installed, and see an improve in battery life?

I also noticed that my battery when I use it drains quickly and i'm thinking to replace the battery. It lasts a day too. I have bought the battery but I haven't decided to replace it yet.

Hello, there. Is there any chance to install battery from HTC Butterfly S (3200mah)? The hardware of M7 and Butterfly S is the same, the batteries is almost with the same size - m7 battery is slightly longer (lol) , but both have the same connector, same voltage. Any addictional information about this project and how to fit the new battery inside of the body of M7?
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
What's the thickness of the 3200mah butterly battery compared to stock One m7 battery?
I just now searched for those batterys... And they dont fit into the m7, battery of m7 is 3mm thick and the one from butterfly s is 4mm thick. So you wont be able to close the device after replacing it with this battery. But while i was searching i found a 2450mhA battery which is made for our one m7. This one has the same exact size of what fits into our device. I think that would be the biggest battery that is made for our device.

What about the droid attack on the wookies?
Speaking of battery, is there even an other option outside the OEM one.
I bought 2500mAh battery, it´s from poland but i think it´s much better than original battery. SROM with stock kernel and day and half is not problem.

the replace itself wansn´t hard, but the first step is open the phone, and u can easy damage your back cover or display frame... so if u know open the phone gently, you won hope i helped, cuz it would be a pity if you must throw away m7 only because of battery life.. as i said, i can survive day and half now (with wifi permanently on, auto brightness, stock kernel and sense 7) without powersave mode

Did you use any replacement kits or something?
also what do you think of these? https://goo.gl/nFgBxw and https://goo.gl/TzL7n8 (Aliexpress)
Is it worth the risk for the 3000mAh battery (second link)?

I used my own microscrewdriver kit and some tools from ali, so except the screwdriver (my one is not from aliexpress) i recommanded this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Uni...32784491723.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.oPqiA8
to the batteries: i would vote the first one, cuz it has more positive evaluations and is probably realy has the indicated capacity.
this is why i didn´t buy battery from ali, cuz i believe more local eshops, though the battery is made in poland ( and i have battery warranty too)

This is directly from HTC tech support. To recalibrate battery and HTC charger when battery rapidly or erratically discharges, this procedure clears all battery stats, coordinates and normalizes charging.
Turn off Fast Boot in settings. Power off phone.
Plug phone into HTC charger and charge for two minutes or more
While charging, hold down volume up+volume down+power button and continue holding
Phone will turn on and off repeatedly every 15 seconds or so while continuing to hold all three buttons
Keep this going for 2 minutes, then release buttons when phone is ON
Now, let phone charge fully normally (with phone either on or off--doesn't matter) and battery level reporting, charging and battery life should be normalized.
