kernel working great so far only issue is camera...no more sd issues...for xposed plugins could you recommend some good ones?
I don't use xposed. But when I used to, I only had Status bar scroll to top. Double tapping status bar, goes to the top of the page like iPhone

Do I understand correct that this kernel doesn't have overclocking?

Thanks for this ..the apps were a nice touch ! Kernel is working great
I've managed to squeeze a lil bit more battery out of phone and decrease the heat output (my phone was heating up bad) by lowering the default clock of the GPU. doesn't decrease performance at all (that I notice). new build coming Monday

Best Xposed modules you can have for this phone are xrenamer, sense 6 lockscreen mods, xsense and sense 6 toolbox. But in s6 toolox, you have to enable AOSP recent apps picker or you'll get constant android.media force closes.
Question:
Are there any certain necessary steps/precautions I have to take to flash this kernel using Flashify? My comp's broke so I gotta flash it that way
Edit:
Just flashed with Flashify, and my front facing camera still works!! So does my wifi, data, and as far as I can tell, everything else!!
But I don't have any of the embedded apps in my /System/app or data/app folders. Am I looking in the wrong /app folder possibly?
Are you sure it flashed correctly?

Nope just rebooted and it didn't flash. My bad.
I somehow lost my recovery by flashing with Flashify. Guess I gotta find a computer and re-flash twrp...
I think I flashed the kernel to recovery partition.
Edit:
Re-flashed my recovery, flashed the kernel with Flashify, and it worked this time, since I flashed as a boot img not recovery img this time.
FFC seems to be the only thing not working
OK, let me know if you have any other issues

Awesome! Based on fr15?
Nope!
I don't use MoDaCo's online kitchen..!
It's based on my SuperSlim ROM!
It's tweaked and built for speed, has alot of useful apps and widgets, yet has alot of free RAM at boot (240Mb!).
It's a really nice ROM in my opinion
is there chinese in this rom?
Thanks ^^
I think I accidently deleted Chinese support.. I haven't gotten around to fixing that yet!
This is 1.5a, right?!
No Tasar, this is a different ROM.
You are thinking of my SuperSlim ROM, which can be found here.
This is the Speed Edition, it has alot of apps and widgets whereas the SuperSlim v1.5a and v1.5b have nearly no apps/widgets.
Could you maybe add some screenshots to the main post? Would really appreciate that!

Nevertheless - you've done a great Job, and my device is running Your SuperSlim ROM, which is awsome. Unfortunatelly, your ROM does a better job than a slim baked ROM at MoDaCo...

But it's not necessary to OC if not needed, right?
I really like your ROM! thanks!
Two more questions:
- why are you still using Eternity Kernel 1.3? 1.5c is the latest stable i think.
- the window animations when for example opening a submenu in the settings or going back are really nice but somehow i always have the feeling they somehow "lag" a bit. i think it might be just the animation itself which somehow is folding the "old" screen away but gives me the feeling that it's stuck for a short time. am i the only one with that feeling?

Personally, I would only OC it for brag-worthy Quadrant scores and keep it at stock and underclock the voltage a little for day to day usage
@maini85, it is not necessary to OC. It is possible, but not necessary
I would recommend UV-ing by -50mV on every frequency tho, it helps your battery last a little longer
And I am still using 1.3, as 1.5c does not have Pimp My CPU support..
nice rom
hi bro...thanks for ur nice and speedy rom...i like it very much...
btw, when will u add in the chinese support?
@aaronkuek, I first need to find the files in which the language support is programmed. I'm afraid that that'll take a while and as I don't have unlimited time to work on my ROMs due to work/university/trying to make a Gingerbread ROM D) I cannot give you an ETA yet.
ic....thanks anyway....will then try to stick to it 1st...
btw....thumbs up for ur rom....like it very much

Crossbones Kernel Information:
Current version: 0.1.5
Kernel is included in ROM and not available or supported as a flashable zip.
Source Code: https://github.com/C...ossbones_kernel
The kernel that's included in the Crossbones is a customized kernel based on Google's latest source (Linux 3.0.8). The idea behind this kernel is to provide a kernel that improves performance and the user experience but keep the stability of the stock kernel.
This kernel has been tested by all members of the team for over 48 hours and everyone has had the same result: nothing but excellent performance. This kernel is not even overclockable (yet) and honestly, doesn't feel like overclocking is needed. Every new feature added to the kernel is tested by all team members to ensure it does not affect stability and only improves the kernel. Our goal with this ROM and kernel is to have better performance and keep the stability of the stock ROM and kernel. Overclocking and undervolting will be added to the kernel eventually so if you're looking to overclock the kernel, flash a kernel that lets you overclock. However, we recommend trying our ROM with our kernel for a day and you'll see how good it is, guaranteed.
Kernel Information:
* LulzActive2 Governor
* SIO Scheduler
* Fixed bug with cpu frequencies being reported to sysfs
* Set noop to default scheduler
* Google's/Samsung latest base (3.0.8)
* BFQ I/O Scheduler (Set as default)
* SLQB slab allocator (Set as default)
* LagFree CPU Governor (Set as default and our favorite)
* BLN
* BLX
* BLD
* Voodoo
* CFS Autogroup scheduling enabled
* Other minor things I forgot I as wrote this (I'll try to take notes)
Credits:
* Google and Samsung for a great base and device
* Ezeekeel for all his awesome contributions and tweaks used in this kernel
* Paolo Valente and Fabio Checconi for BFQ
* Nick Piggin for SLQB
* supercurio for voodoo
* All the other devs that contribute into this great open source community. If I missed anyone and you feel you deserve credit please let me know
Other:
During our testing, some of us preferred using no-op as the default I/O scheduler while other chose BFQ. We suggest you test and be the judge

If you read through the NS4G thread here you can see what people think of my ROM
It's a stable beast on the NS4G. I had a tester go through the GSM version last night into this morning and everything seems okay. If there are any REAL issues, please report (ex. NFC not functioning, 3G not connecting, NOT google voice isn't setting up properly for me) on this thread.
I do not own the GSM Nexus S but since it works so well on the NS4G I don't see why there should be any different or special issues.

i'm pretty sure i tagged you in my tweet though. but well great rom!
Just install this rom and really fast and smooth without any issue. The bfq io and lagfree is great. Just missed Chinese traditional translation but it is not important that without it thanks!!!
Edit: This rom has near 0 or the smallest delay when open anything( eg. Apps and market link). This is the best experience that i tried many other ics rom. Hope the following update will not slow down the rom This rom is near the stock ics rom( it doesn't include galaxy nexus camera sound ). I really like this because too many features may make a rom slow..No translation just english us. I think it is the one thing ppl will care
Edit 2: 3G data collection is a bit slower than other ics rom

*** As always - Flash on our own risk! ***
Make sure you flash the correct version depending on your firmware version!
I can and will not take any responsibility for bricked phones or lost data.
It is generally recommended to run a complete Nandroid backup in CWM recovery and safely store your personal data before you flash a new kernel.
Cheers and enjoy

If you are on old modem yes but on new ones I haven't tested because I'm stuck on old modem efs v1.
If you have efs v2 you can flash the official one of Lord Boeffla.

What is the difference between the SE for Android status: Enforcing, Permissive and Disabled?
Enforcing — SE for Android is enforcing the loaded policy. Your device is actively protected from security threats and malicious apps will be denied access.
Permissive — The SE for Android policy file is loaded, but your device is not enforcing it. If a malicious app tries to access a resource that it is not allowed to, the access will be logged but not prevented. This mode is intended for testing and debugging. It generates log files of denied app and allows Samsung to identify new app threats and update its policy files.
Disabled — The SE for Android infrastructure is not enabled, and there is no policy file loaded. Log files are not generated and your system is vulnerable to security threats.
To find out how to check a device’s SE for Android status (formerly called SELinux status), see the KNOX User Guide on the KNOX web portal > Resources tab. You cannot change this setting.

Skayer
After you flash the ROM flash old modem and this kernel. Only if you are stuck on efs_v1

FAQs for Vanir (Please Read Before Posting!)
*
1) Can you help?
*
Hell yes! *We need testers, device maintainers, coders, artists, XDA thread managers.
If you have something to give, we would love your help!
*
We have some tutorials here for people looking to start tinkering with the source code:
*
https://github.com/VanirAOSP/platform_manifest/blob/kk44/README.mkdn
*
And our homepage has even more resources:
*
http://www.vanir.co/
*
2) Submitting a bug: 90% of bug reports lack the vital information required for a fix.
*
- Device? *Use the call sign, JFLTE is your GS4, etc
- What nightly are you on?
- Clean or Dirty flash?
- Custom kernel?
- When did it start?
- Brief description
- Steps to replicate
- Log? *Post it on pastebin.com or a similar NO LOGIN NEEDED, plain text website. *We will NOT sign up for anything to read your log!
*
3) Logcat,... umm what's that?
*
http://www.vanir.co/word/diy/capturing-a-logcat/
*
If you can root your phone, then you can grab a high quality log. *Short and sweet logs are better than long ones. *If you search the log and do not see the words * fatal *or *error *then you missed the problem.
*
4) Where can I get Vanir?
*
Vanir: http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/
*
Commotio: http://www.emccann.net/dho/3-Vanir-mirror/4-nighties/

*
5) GAPPs?
*
Why not use Vanir's?
*
http://www.emccann.net/dho/5-Gapps/
*
6) Commotio vs Vanir?
*
Commotio is DHO's take on Vanir. *Different UI, scripts, and often testing new features that may be merged into Vanir.
They are 100% compatible and users can pick their favorite.
*
7) Source + Changelogs
*
Nightly chargelogs are on the nightly pages. *The source is it's own unabridged log

8) Feature Requests
*
You can ask in general discussion BUT in general WE DO NOT ACCEPT written requests.
We gladly accept and review all features submitted to our gerrit.
We do not add every feature just because we can; The goal is outstanding user experience, not just a bulky bag of tricks.

You know, for stuff.
Welcome friend I ll try this one
Great ROM, been running it for a while, @DHO, your the man, sorted a bunch of issues out, as well @Myself5 for his help
Good, smooth, fabulous.
Only problem being, the phone sleeps off when on power save mode in kernel.
When playing games, shoots up the highest freq most of the times.
Daily use has no issues whatsoever with 3G or WiFi .

What he said
Its just my mobile! Even on CM11, its having this issue.
D6502
What I meant was, when on power save goverver, the screen goes off and does wake again, whatever I do. I have to hold power+vol-up and reboot and change the goverver to either interactive or on demand.
I am using as daily driver and everything is fabulous.

Also happens for me in power save mode.
I'll try hooking phone into PC and running logcat to see if I can spot what goes wrong. Feel free to try the same.
