HTC Desire 626c~ The SU binary needs to be updated! - Desire 626 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, device is HTC Desire 626s bootloader unlocked, rooted, Super SU installed Android 5.1 Sense 7.0 (htc_a32eul)
I still have root at this point but this keeps coming up and I would appreciate someone telling me where I may find the binary update to flash?

Again the SuperSU binary needs Updating, the last time was 10/9 and I flashed Beta-SuperSU-v2.51.zip, now 10/18/2015. Same device as above needs updating. It was as simple as clicking one time on the option other than recovery. Done in a minute.

[Q] help - no su binary installed?

i have previously unlocked bootloader and rooted my device using the Hasoons all in one tool kit and then had been using ard 12.1.
I then fancied trying the latest GE 4.3 release (stock) which i downloaded and flashed and all seemed fine however when i went to check root was still there i have the icon but get a message saying that there is no su binary installed. I have tried to use the toolkit again to go back the root procedure in the hope i can re-install what ever is missing however for some reason now the tool kit comes up with an error message in the box saying waiting for device or device not recognized.
I have tried to sort the problem but now feel i am just going round and around in circles and really dont have the knowledge to put it right as im quite new to the flashing and modding side and dont fully understand all the terminology, im sure its probably something really simple to fix for those who know how so would really appreciate some advice.
My overall aim would be to be running the stock rom (or might even try the new arhd 4.3 ge) with root so that i can then use the volume + to wake mod as i find this really usefull as my power button is quite depressed and hard to use.

hello you are in need of the new 4.3 superuser.zip
http://download.clockworkmod.com/test/superuser-4.3-beta3.zip
if you are using CWM, when it asks to fix su upon reboot, select NO
Wow thank you!!!!!
You have no clue, or maybe you do, how lost I got trying to root my HTC One. This is all new to me, but this forum has helped massively. I found that the supersu zip I had was the older version when I already had 4.3 uploaded before rooting. This community rocks!
why do my gapps processes keep crashing?
NM forgot to full wipe
So I have the same issue - my only question is that I am running 4.4 now. Does this super user file still work or is there a 4.4 version?
Just use "SuperSu" if you face any root acces issues

Hi there, Im new to the rooting world, I have a htc one m7 from sprint trying to sim unlock it, as far as I know I unlocked the bootloader, tampered it, and rooted, but no access to super user so I can sim unlock it. I downloaded and installed this App that you mention, but still keeps saying no binary updated, and with this 4.3 version says there was an error installing superuser. Please help, I dont know what to do.
I was having this same issue on my Note 2 (4.3). I seem to have found a way to restore root that may help you as well.
I think this issue may be caused by the SU app & binary updates. Uninstalling the updates has restored root for me.
Go to:
Settings > More > Application Manager > All > SuperSU > Uninstall updates
(menu options may be slightly different on other devices)
This will roll back SuperSU and hopefully restore your root access.
Let me know if this helps.
Any updates on this? I'm trying to get root on an HTC One M7 that I just purchased and I'm running into the same error.
Thanks!

[Q] Rooting an I8190N

Hello everyone.
I got a little problem with my phone, since i want to root it, i checked out which build I had installed on my phone, here's the results:
i.imgur.com/1sOmg7i.png
As you can see, my build is an AMG3/AMF3, and i couldn't find any guide for rooting with that build installed.
What should i do?
Thank you in advance,
Amaryl.
Hi there,
Firstly, I am new to all this too, so take my advice, or leave it, with that in mind!!
I have recently rooted mine from the AMG3 build with mskip's toolkit. I took the plunge and took his advice on choosing the closest available build. I donated so as to be sure I had his latest update of the toolkit. I am not near my pc, but it was the selection which included the AMD3 build (the most recent, ie bottom in the section for the model with NFC, as that is themodel I have). I had one root through odin which failed to give superSU any binaries or permissions at all, so then completely reinstalled the toolkit on my pc (possibly unnecessary) and then reflashed twrp recovery, but chose the cwm version of superuser and ot worked perfectly! As far as I can tell, my phone works exactly as it did before, but now with root access.
If you look in this section of the forum, I posted a q this morning which gives a couple more details about the process I went through re 1st failed attempt which I won't retype here, but I can confirm I have full rooted functionality with the toolkit over the AMG3 build on the N model of the mini, with twrp and superuser!
Btw I say a failed attempt, but my phone worked fine, I just got an error message at the end of the toolkit installing busybox, so booted the phone and superSU just said "there are no binaries I stalled, this is a problem!". So I assume I wouldn't have been able to exploit the root, but at no point did It stop the phone working as a phone.
As I say, I am faaaar from an expert, but that's my experience.

Android 4.3 : after OTA update problem with root - Binary installation

Hello
I've just don't an OTA upgrade to Android 4.3 to my new Sprint HTC One.
After the OTA I rooted the device and installed recovery.
After I restarted the phone and launch the SuperSU I got this message :
"There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem.
If you just upgraded to Android 4.3 you need to manually re-root."
I would like to ask what should I do to make the root process sucseful .
I'm a newbe in the Android world and use some root manual I found.
1. What does it mean to re-root?
2. Should I unroot first ? And how it can be done?
3. Is there an 4.3 root manual somewhere to the make the SuperSU work?
Any instructions will be great help.
Thanks
Did you ever figure out how to get root? I am currently experiencing same issue.
Same issue
Same exact problem! Bump.
Any suggestions?
Please don't take OTAs after you've rooted your phone, because almost always it will wipe your root. Here is how I do my rooting.
Step 1: Go to htcdev.com and get your bootloader unlocked (this process will reset your phone back to factory setting, so back up all your pics, music, etc)
Step 2: Right after bootloader is unlocked, install a custom recovery (I prefer TWRP 2.6.3.0 for Sprint HTC One 4.3)
Step 3: As part of TWRP installation, SuperUser will be installed (root)
Step 4: Make a nandroid backup of your phone in TWRP. After that, install a custom ROM of your liking (there are plenty wonderful ones in Development section). This will keep your phone from taking OTA updates from Sprint/HTC. Don't worry, Devs on these forums (and their respective ROMs) are months ahead of Sprint in terms of updates.
For more details, head over to Development section and look for rooting instructions. there are very detailed tutorials there. Hope this helps.
having the same problem! im getting "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it." from super su! I DO NOT WANT A CUSTOM ROM! i want stock rom but i want to have root. please help! the theres so many devs here im sure someone is kind enough to help

If all you want is pure stock with root -- just flash one of the already rooted stock ROMs in your custom recovery (assuming you loaded TRWP or PhilZ or CWM):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48653344&postcount=2
If you want (more or less) stock with a *significantly* better experience (e.g., 30 volume steps, extreme stability, bla bla bla), I'd suggest InsertCoin (the thread is here whereas the download for our phone is here.
For either pick, since your coming in fresh to the ROM, do a full wipe (InsertCoin will do that for you as an option to the install, but I usually do that in recovery anyway).
Also -- note that InsertCoin *might* start the install and seemingly hang. That's a bug in Aroma, just hard restart the phone and try again -- letting the installer perform the wipe. It will work, and you'll be happy -- I'm sure.

See my previous post (you can just load a rooted stock ROM). But "re-root" is something you do by either flashing the SuperSU.zip file, or letting your recovery take care of re-rooting.
No need to unroot.
My take? Backup your current ROM (stock, unrooted) and then flash one of those I mentioned.
This might be of some help, or at least clarify the issue you are having.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...n-but-chainfires-supersu-works-and-heres-why/
fyi i realized i was flashing with an older version of supersu. V1.25 to be exact. I slapped supersu v1.86 on my phone and then installed that through TWRP. Root was successful.
Reason for rooting was I wanted to install titanium backup and freeze sprint id and other bloatware apps. I also wanted to eliminate GPU throttling which i did, and I set up the scrips to stop CPU and GPU throttling while im playing games, and then click the other button to shut off the script. Im happy with its performance. Shadowgun and modern combat 4 run much more smooth since doing that.
as for a custom rom im not sure im that brave yet... i thought all the big hubbub was cyanogen. has that mod lost its step? ill look in to the one you suggested, thanks.
after looking at insertcoin im going to have to pass. Ive read that kitkat completely breaks the phone for gaming and performance becomes horribad

Is rooting really that good?

I rooted my phone a week ago, I kept with the stock Rom for a few days, then installed a Renovate sense 6 Rom which seemed to work well. I had SuperSU installed, plus a few other apps, but then all of a sudden I got an error message when trying to open SuperSU saying the binary was missing, so I downloaded a root checker which said I wasn't fully rooted! After looking on the forums to find a solution I relocked my boot loader and unrooted the phone. Trying to find a stock RUU for my phone ( unlocked Europe version ) was a bloody nightmare. Also getting it to install on my phone was a pain, but probably more to do with my computer having a slow moment.
Is it really worth all the hassle when I can all go wrong in a couple of days ?
Don't think I'll be re routing again any time soon

Well it's like anything. If you don't know why you need something you probably don't need it

the phone never come unrooted .. you never had root installed properly
when it's flashed correctly from recovery it will not just go away
http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU
Flash that from recovery and you'll be rooted
I had SuperSU installed, everything was fine, anything I did with the phone worked. After a week it said the SU binaries were missing, and you couldn't get into SuperSU to do anything, but previously you could. If the phone was never rooted correctly like you say, i would have had this problem from the start.
Also after rooting I used a root checker which said I was rooted, but after this Su binary issue started, it said I wasn't rooted.
Still, I'm back to unrooted now, and the only reason I did it was to get Sense 6, which has since come out as an update, so I'm no worse off

This is a rom issue not a root issue. Could have also been an issue with the kernel. To be honest if you dont really use the root functions then there maybe no need for you to have it. To be honest most people dont really need root. They just wanna seem cool with some things they can show off on their device instead of using it for anything important or handy. I would advice to judge for yourself. Take the extra options/security risk and weigh it against remaining stock which has less options/secure.
I agree with the previous post, if you don't know what it is, you probably don't need it. As far as SuperSu disappearing, it sounds like either you didn't install it correctly or something changed. The ideal way to install SuperSu is to install via the recovery. And even so, if you reinstall your OS, you will need to reinstall SuperSu. Software does not simply disappear, something had to be done to hasten it's departure. An easy fix to your issue would have been to download the SuperSu zip package from http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu, and install it via your recovery. What I personally don't like about locking a bootloader is that now it says TAMPERED at the top of the screen.
Your issues seem to be with the restoring to stock process which HTC do make a bit convoluted, triggered by the root error not rooting itself.
Now to answer your question: My main reason for rooting is I want to take fine grained backups. Second is lots of clever people have come up with mods and improvements I like to install over the stock Sense ROM.
If you don't need anything that needs root, no need to root. Simple as that.

htc one m8 (rooted - unable to flash super SU)

Hi, I am new to this rooting thing but i managed to root my phone (i kind of understand the basics behind rooting and recovery stuff). I am writing here because i wanted to flash a new rom so i did a complet wipe (i did this before and it worked) but now the problem is that it tells me i can't flash super SU. Each time i try to flash super su it says "skipping MD 5 check" then "No MD 5file found" also each time i try to reboot the phone it says "your phone doesn't appear to be rooted" and it asks the permission to instal super SU but it never installs it. The same thing happens when i try to flash a rom (anything from cm to gpe). Anyone knowing how to deal with this MD 5 stuff I could really use some help.
