I totally bought this phone (AL-10) expecting it to have NFC and was quite disappointed to find out the phone didn't have NFC . I tried to return the phone the next day, but of course, Chinese return policies aren't quite as flexible as North America. I was totally pumped to be able to use Android pay.
I wonder if the phone NFC capable but the Chinese version of EMUI somehow has it disabled at the software level? AL-10)

Thanks! I already read that post. But I was wondering if the NFC is perhaps just disabled on the software level. I know sometimes OEM's can disable phone features at the software level even though the capability may be present in the hardware.
My options at this point are to just tough it out and have no NFC/Android pay, sell the phone and but the international variant, or wait for Huawei to come out with a smartwatch that has NFC and pair it with the phone.

Anyone here with the VIE-AL10 model can tell me the frequencies available on the phone ?
I would like to know from inside the phone itself, where there is the option to activate and use the different frequencies, what is available. I found different specifications on different websites and even the Huawei website does not list the VIE-AL10 . I want to make sure that I will be able to use it in the USA and in Europe as well .
Thank you very much
Thanks .

Wowwwww. I made the same mistake. (side note I also can't seem to get force touch to work). Android pay is sort of a deal breaker for me. Very disappointing the Huawei website didn't seem to indicate this model would not have NFC. I think I might try to resell it. Really lame.

Is there any difference in models and can I flash firmware for European version on to mine phone becouse I don't want to deal with all these 50 chinese apps
Thanks!
PS I'm switching from LG G3 and Meizu MX4 Pro, so just first impression after 4 hours of tests:
1) fingerprint works amaizing, much better than Meizu.
2) the phone body is very solid and looks nice
3) sounds quialilty is good but Meizu is better, which was expected.

I think it means it's optional in the sense that you can either run dual sim or one sim and a micro sd card. One of the slots act as either. I know that's how it is with the UL00 version.

Maybe you're right, although I interpret from Huawei's web page that the L09 version might have a single SIM (the GSM network specs for the UL00 shows 2 cards and the L09 only one?).

Only the CRR-UL00/64GB version is dual sim (maby the 128GB version will be to when it comes). Optional referes to that you can either have sim + sdcard og sim + sim configuration, as one slot doubles as sdcard and sim slot.

Hi,
I too have just taken delivery of a Chinese sourced CRR-UL00 and would like to know if and how it can be flashed to a European or International version in order to remove the Chinese oriented 'stuff'? I have removed a lot of the Chinese Apps manually, but would be a bonus to build as a non Chinese version.
Othewise early impressions are favourable of a very well built and good looking device... loving the rear mounted fingerprint reader.

Hi all,
I am about to order the CRR-UL00 DUAL SIM. However I have some questions as this isn't an European version.
Will I get support from HUAWEI when it is broke? I am not sure about this. Asked it Huawei, but they didn't respond.
Secondly what OS languages are available? Would for instance English and Dutch be available on it or other keyboard layouts like AZERTY? Can somebody confirm this?
What about the Chinese apps? Can you delete them? Or if not, put them all into a folder to deny them?
Are there other things on this Asian model in which I can run into trouble after purchase?
Kind regards

If you by this means if you will get EU warranty from Huawei, then no you should not expect that. You would have to ship it back for repair or pay to get it done localy at your own expence.

About any language is avalible on the stock firmware, Dutch and English is included. Keyboard layouts too, or you can simply download a keyboard from Google Play.

Google Service is important for China mobiles, as they are not pre-installed in China. On Huawei Mate S CRR-UL00 the will not be installed, but you can download them from the Huawei App Store "HiApp". They work without problems for me on my CRR-UL00.

Thanks a lot for your answers! Strange as I can purchase the P8 Premium Gold Edition through Vmart (Huawei) in Belgium. This is a dual sim version with the same version as the Mate S. This is sold with warranty but normally they don't advertise this model in Europe.
Anyway.. I think the Mate S dual Sim is the better choice over the P8 Dual Sim IMO. Any constrains?

Yes it is a bit strange tha Huawei seems to only sell their low spec models in EU - actually a surprise to me that you can get the 64GB P8 here. For the Honor 7 and Mate S I have only seen the 16GB and 32GB models from official stores.
I did not go for the P8. The P8 has no fingerprint reader, also the screen and general build quality is to me superior in the Mate S. The AMOLED screen is really beautiful.
I have mate s ul00
i cant find fun scales app and i cant use force touch
this CRR-UL00 version is nice but has it active dual sim ?

People who buy Chinese phones like Xiaomi, usually get the Chinese version and install Google play or they wait for the international version?
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
Doesn't really matter, if you get the Chinese variant you can always flash the international version of the rom, although their unlock bootloader process is a bit cumbersome. If you want it on the Chinese ROM it's not just the matter of installing Google Play, you are missing Google Services Framework so you need to get that first.

I've been looking around to try and find out if it's available and can be used in Canada. I found the Canadian site http://xiaomi-mi.ca/ that claims to be an official Xiaomi site but every phone on there has a 5 star rating so I find this very suspect... I'm also not clear on the whole band thing as some companies discuss them as Band 1, band 2 and so on, and some use 1700/2100 MHz and so on. According to http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_5-6948.php the 1700/2100 band for LTE is covered.. I think it should work no problem if I read this all correctly.

so i am using galaxy note 5 currently, and now i decided to buy OP3T as it has a lot of customization + NetHunter.
i am deciding to buy 128GB version of OP3T. and want to ask some questions if anyone can answer them.
1. how good is this phone's camera comparing to Samsung Note 5 ? (specially in dark) on gsmarena it looks better than note 5, but how is it in real life if anyone has compared the two?
2. any special model of 3T to avoid or to look for? for the best of xda support?
3. any special bootloader/firmware to avoid ? like sometimes its better to buy the oldest bootloader for highest support on xda. and sometimes it doesn't matter if device's dev are very active in supporting latest firmwares?
4. as i always stayed on samsung phones, it gives a good code *#0*# to test all functions of phone. is there anything i can use to test OP3T when buying?
and others that you can think of suggesting me? so i don't regret after buying something i shouldn't have?
thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:
1) Camera is decent esp with the google camera port with HDR+
2) all models are the same. Just make sure you get the one for your region (proper bands)
3) all software versions give you the ability to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery
4) not sure
4) *#808#

They're physically the same, only difference is in the band locking configuration files in the encrypted partition.
But yes, you should of course choose the one that comes with the most suited bands for your region (A3000 for US, A3003 for EU/international and A3010 for Asia).

If it weren't for the fact that the band locking is in an encrypted partition which is factory programed and not affected by any ROM flashing, we could if it wasn't for the encryption.
The reason why certain bands can't be active on phones in certain regions had to do with those bands being used by for example the army/govermental agencies, so they're not allowed to make a phone be able to use all bands all over the world.

I will only ever exchange my 3T for a newer 3T
You can find all the bands supported by all the networks in Pakistan over at Wikipedia. In your case, ufone and zong should work fine on the A3010/China variant just like me.
There are in fact 3 variants of the OP3T based on different regions. All three have the same hardware apart from the frequency bands obviously.
A3000 (US model)
A3003 (EU/Asia)
A3010 (China)
The global version listed on GSM is the A3003. Both A3003 and A3010 will work fine on your networks. Btw where are you buying from?
As for Kali Nethunter, I have never personally used it. However, it does not matter which variant of the phone you have, it will work on all of them in the same way just as almost all mods and custom roms work universally on all versions.
ok so i bought OP3T A3003 128GB. all bands i wanted are working on it. and im very happy.
its on Android 7.1.1 already.
now i want to root it and install twrp.
any recommendations?
after used samsung odin mode. i dont know what mode op3t has if anything goes wrong (soft brick) to restore official firmware?

why i keep seeing that screen on when i start phone. it says your device has been unlocked ans can't be trusted.
it started after i unlocked bootloader.
how can i get rid of that? it says if u want to not see this screen then lock bootloader. so if i lock bootloader will my root and recovery remain?

Hi!
So I've bought a Samsung S9 Duos recently and to be honest, although I like the phone and have been on a Samsung streak for the past few years, I'm getting seriously tired of their country dependant shenanigans. Because I live in Canada, when I buy a Global phone there's a bunch of stuff that either doesn't work or does only partially. And because the Canadian model is a SD proc, not an Exynos, it's an absolute nightmare to switch CSCs and get everything working right...
I hesitated long and hard to get a P20 pro, but the fact it wasn't available anywhere in Canada made me nervous. But my carrier (Rogers) recently announced it so, being really tired of this Samsung ****e, I'm considering returning the S9 and getting the P20 pro (even if it doesn't have a lot of stuff I like such as the headphone jack, SD card and wireless charging).
TL;DR
My question is, if I get an international (dual SIM) model of the P20 pro, is it going to be different than the Canadian one? Is there an equivalent of CSC codes with Samsung that I have to worry about, or can I assume it will be the same phone and I just need to activate it to get carrier specifics?
Thanks
I'm not an expert, but before I bought my P20 Pro, I made sure that it worked with the AT&T's network frequency bands. Each network has different bands and if the phone doesn't support the band, it won't connect.

Thanks for the input. I checked the bands for sure, and they are covered since it will be sold on my carrier soon. I guess what I meant is more the model itself, if there are variants per country or if we (Canada) are getting the same global version.
You see I come from a Samsung user's background and they have these silly country codes that dictate what you can use and where. I'm not sure it's related, but I found that even if on paper all LTE bands are covered with my S9, it still has shoddy reception compared to a Canadian S7. I could try to flash my CSC code to the phone, but a) it's complicated and risks bricking the phone and b) since the Canadian model is NOT the same as the global one, my CSC cannot be applied to this phone no matter how hard I try...

FunkyHuawei offers a rebranding tool, which changes the region of the ROM. I used it because I bought mine from a Chinese e-commerce website. I rebranded to European region.
I couldn't find anything about International or Global versions of the phone. I know they are region locked, but the rebranding tool will fix that. You can also flash a firmware from FunkHuawei or use HuRUpdater tool from TWRP custom recovery.
I have used both tools, and had 100% success.

Cool thanks, I'll see how this could help me out. I'm giving my S9 one last chance but short of that, I'll cough up another $1000 for this phone; I just don't want to end up in the same trap!
Can any1 check if it is present ?
Yes
Thank you for that.
As I check there is no B20 LTE band ?
Yep, I'm very interested in the same matter - does it support B20 LTE band and does it have NFC? I'm considering importing this phone from Flipkart, but first I need to be sure it'll work properly in Poland.

It does not support B20 and does not have NFC either.
It is a good phone but Motorola as an OEM is pretty pathetic. It's just Lenovo with another name. It's really not worth it importing this phone if you ask me.
Go with Nokia or even Xiaomi if it's available in your country.
Big thx for the info, looks like importing is not worth it...
We should wait for Motrola G7 Power. It will come soon
https://www.xda-developers.com/motorola-moto-g7-power-leak-rumored-specs/
G7 Power doesnt have 802.11ac wireless and also only bluetooth 4.2. Besides the matching 5000mAh there's not much difference but I'd still choose the One Power.
