I have my ZW3 for 4 Days now and battery life is real bad:
Today I took it from the charger at about 6:20 am and now at 15:00 (3:00 pm) it has only 30% left. I did not do much with the watch, display is in always on mode but dimmed most of the time.
My ZW 2 lasted for two days with same settings, apps and usage.
Do you have similar experience?
Usually at 66 percent after a full day of work. 7am-530pm . Does battery stats show anything abnormal?
BBS only shows stats for the phone, doesn't it?
Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A3003 mit Tapatalk
The Android Watch app or Zenwatch manager has a place where it shows you battery stats like a phone.
My battery burn rate is about 4% per hour. Pretty good. However, I did find that using some Watchmaker watch faces caused a heavy battery drain.
Somehow it sorted out itself after a few days, 3.6% per hour...

My battery life sucks, same set as OP, hope is sorts itself out or I will not have this watch long.
My day runs 6am to 11pm the charger is at home and is useless until 11pm.

How long have you had the watch? It takes about a week for it to settle in.
Not long will wait a few days
I only got this watch for 2 days, and battery burned out like crazy.
I'm using watchmaker premium watch face.
Maybe that's why...
Over a month now and battery life to me is solid.
I'm getting 2 days with 12 hours per day use.
Always on display on,music management control through my watch, continuously notification from various app, reading or replying to them for example Watchapp app.
Playing also with every day watch faces customization as I'm quickly getting bored with the same one.
Maybe you should consider returning it back as being defective yours unit.

I have had mine 2 weeks and battery life is still horrid. I barely make it through a normal working day. I have tried both Asus built-in faces and Watchmaker faces with little difference. I do have the ambient face always on as it is a key requirement for me.
It's not normal that behavior.
You too should consider returning it back and get new replacement
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Second day so far pulled it out of the charger 6am .... 9 hours later it is telling me 75%
Wonder why such a big difference, yesterday I changed to a dark watch face "should make a difference but not a huge difference?
I use Pujie Black watchface, with moderate usage I can easily get through a day with 20% or so left.
I heard for new watch, battery life will be bad for first few charge cycle, but it will settled after about a week and will gain it's ultimate battery life...

Day 4, getting better...
A little over 12 hours.

I've had mine a week and a half now. The battery was bad at first, but like others said it seems to stabilize after a few days. What really helped mine was turning off the sensor permissions for Zenfit and using Google Fit instead. I don't use the step counter anyway because it's inaccurate.
Hello, I have made the root and installed with wearwolf battery calibrator and Kernel toolkit, the battery time with the calibration and the kernel settings in powersave has improved so much and lasts about 30 hours

I'm totaly happy with the battery... getting at least a day and a half with normal use.
after updating its definitely drainng fast.
No drain here. I get 10-12 hours a day with heavy use and easily a day with moderate usage. Was roughly the same before update as well.

Yeah I've literally only had my Nexus 7 a matter of a week but I can tell the difference between the battery per and post update. It seems go drain a lot quicker!
Any tips on how to save battery and keep it for as long as possible bar the obvious app killer etc...

If anything, mine has got slightly better. Used to have less than 18% by 8pm, now its more like 25%. I use it pretty much all day for YouTube, Engadget, Flipboard, Tapatalk, Chrome, music and a couple of hours of games.

4326mAh battery, 2A charger, 2.1 hours theoretically. Realistically, 2.5-3.0 if pretty much empty.
If you're using a non standard cable or charger, who knows what the charger is actually outputting. If you're charging from your computer USB Port, that's 500mAh, so 8.6+ hours. Some random phone charger, probably 1000mAh, 4.3+ hours, etc.
The brightness of the display adds to some of the drain I notice, when possible I keep mine somewhat on the dimside, obviously if I'm in an area of bright light and it hard to see then I'll crank up the brightness.
Can't complain about battery usage.. It's amazingly energy efficient even on a stock kernel considering the horsepower this thing has.. I average 20hrs or so with moderate to heavy usage.

I think battery life is pretty good
I've had really bad drains since 4.1.2. I think I've narrowed it down to an issue with Google Play. I've noticed it several times - Very good battery life, but then it will go down fast, even when sitting unused. If I check battery usage, Google Play is always number one with >50% of the use.
If I force close GP, all will be well for about a day, but eventually it happens again.
I also felt it, but only by that much...not too obvious. From full charge, after only night idle, drop 3 percent compare to last time 1 or 2 percent

Hallo!
Same problem, battery drain is faster, with normal use 12 hours (before 17) and when charging phone it's just 99%. With factory reset same resoult. Now I try without all gps conections.
Anyone have good solution?
Hi
I bought the Motorola Razr I yesterday, I been using it all day today.
But the battery is abnormally short. It drops very fast min 10% per hour to 27% per hour. I don't think this is normal for a new phone. The battery temperature is 38°c on normal use.
Am I using the phone wrong or did I get a faulty phone?.
I have nfc on all the time until 23% but after that I turned off nfc to see if that was the problem but it didn't seem to be.
I can get screen captures if needed.

but the battery with stock rom is not so great as with the custom rom from omar or max.
i dont think your battery is faulty give it some tryes!
and at least you csn not easy change the battery by yourself

You might wanna figure out what is actually draining your battery. Search XDA for 'better battery stats' and install it. When your phone is not beeing used it should stay in deep sleep for most of the time, if not, check wakelocks to see whats keeping it from sleeping. For me it was mostly Google Now which caused the drain.
ok so the more i use the battery the better results i may get?
One of the reasons i bought this phone was because of the review on battery life e.g. http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/motorola-razr-i-1098183/review/9
Now i have done a wipe of cache and data, did a factory reset. Charged from 10% to 100%. Getting the last few % is hard, this morning i woke up and it was still 99%. Went back after 1 hour to check it was 99% and dropped to 98% while the phone is off and charging.
Once its 100% again i will install the better battery stats as 696 suggested and post my results.
In my pretty long android experience this happens all the time with new phones, after updates.. You can do anything you want (cleaning cache, restart, etc), but it gets finally better by itself after a couple of days.
Don't ask me why, but it works like that.
Battery life of Razr i is excellent, best of all phones (incl iphones) I ever had!
Good luck and have some patience - so simple is that!
Recommended is to charge the new Phone full, before you turn it on the first time. A lil bit patience is needed, but that should help to avoid stuff like this.
And as the Guy above already posted, the battery will calibrate during daily use. It's the same, when you flash or update an Rom. You'll see the "real battery drain" first after a couple of Charges. And don't wipe battery stats in CWM, that's useless.

And also try disabling Google Now (search for that if you don't know how).

I bought my Razr i 3 weeks ago, I had high expectations about the battery, but the battery only lasts about one day and half, is this normal? I am not a heavy user.

I am sick of hearing about how bad the battery life is on the Gear.
My Gear have great battery life, charge it every two days but yesterday.
The Google Smart watch is coming and it has much better battery life that the Gear's 12 hours??? !!!
Who can only get 12 hours on the Gear, and what do you do to burn the battery that quick?

Should make no difference at all.
thats because most reviewers dont know what they are talking about
My battery life is great. 3 to 4 days moderate use. And worse comes to worse wack it on the charger while i get ready for work and I have a days worth of battery.
I have a feeling they had pre-release versions which may have had worse battery life. Shame!
Yes, with more recent gear manager updates, I get around 3 days+
Mine lasts 3-4 days.
But I am only using it during the work day.
At the end of the day I have 85% left everyday. I think its biased reviews. I'm sure if the apple watch had a 6 hour battery they would says its genious and revolutionary.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
As a longtime 'professional' reviewer for over a decade (for the high fidelity audio industry), the non-rooted watch gives about 2 to 3 days battery life. Also, I don't recall seeing any reviews where they sideloaded apps, which makes the watch even more useful :good:
Frankly, don't trust all reviewers. :cyclops:
hahaha .... ... they (those reviewers said about bad battery life) have already decided just on the number of xxx mAh. (once they see it.).
I NEVER TRUST ... I TRUST MYSELF ON WHAT I HAVE DECIDED and TRIED ON MY OWN.
My battery life is 3 or 4 days. .. depending of use .
I think it depends of 'home screen ' . With watch styler, if my watch face is 'white' battery life can be 2 or 3 days. But with a standard watch face (black) battery life is 3 or 4 days...
If bluetooth is always turn on, the other battery's drain can only be screen... and it depends of the number of notifications you receive every days ! (And number you look at your watch daily )
Yes I agree with you on that I get 2 to 3 days of battery life heavy usage brightness at 4 and timeout at 15

I have been using my gear on an S4 with android 4.2.2. Battery was usually about 50% at bedtime. I updated to the android 4.3 yesterday which gave me full capabilities of the Gear. Today after 8 hours of pretty heavy use (lots of email) I am at 90%. 4.3 does a much better job of handling BT connections, not just on the Gear but my other BT devices.
This is my 4th smartwatch (Sony MN800, Sony MN2SW, Pebble). The Sony MN2 was pretty decent, touchscreen/color but its battery life was terrible, had trouble making it through the whole day. Pebble had great battery life, constant on screen, but having to use buttons and no color was tough for me after having a touch color screen. Gear is definately heading in the right direction for me. Now that the battery life is can last 2+ days I am even more pleased with my decision to dive in. I turn the screen brightness to +2 which is extremely bright for indoor use.:good:
Yep, agreed.
My battery life is more than I can hope for with this thing.
I'm on day 2 and still have 61 percent battery life left.
I have screen brightness on 1 (which seems perfectly viewable for me) and time out for 7 seconds.
I can go 4 days easy with my current settings.
While I agree the battery life is a bit better than the reviews suggested, I'm surprised so many of you are getting 3-4 days worth. I use mine very lightly... it's stock, I don't have hardly any apps loaded on it, I'm currently just using it to occasionally see the time, and get txt/call/email notifications. I have the most battery efficient watch face (the black one with orange hands and only four markers), brightness on 4, timeout on 10s, using the latest gear manager on a stock Note 3. After 48hrs, I'm below 30% battery. The only excess usage I get is from the auto-wake... I do notice it coming on sometimes while I'm driving, or at the gym. Other than that, I really don't see how I could use it any less to get more life out of it (other than not using it at all). Once the software gets updated to make it a little more useful, I would expect battery life to get worse.
I'm not complaining, 2 days is acceptable to me, I just would have expected my usage patterns to put me at the long end of battery life relative to other users, rather than the short end.

I agree the reviewers had very bad results or bias, But at the same time I wish I knew how you guys were getting your results. Today was a light day, got maybe 20-30 texts and 5-10 emails. Didn't make any calls or respond to any texts with S-voice. I did just realize I had reset it recently so the brightness was at 4 with a 10 second time out. I normally run brightness at 2 and timeout at 7 to try to save the battery. I also use strong vibration and have the digital clock/weather watch face with a black background. I am at 82% after 12 hours, which again I don't think is bad. That would net me 2-3 days, but again that was what I consider very light usage. With heavy usage I doubt it would make it through the day.
I'm not complaining because I am ok with charging it every night, so long as it makes it through the day I am ok with it. I would just be happier if I knew I could get 2+ days with medium usage at least, including bright screen and all that jazz.
Also, side tracking I know, but what apps have you guys side loaded that you have found useful?
I have brightness at max and use it VERY heavily. I work as a mobile computer tech and all my calls are taken on it, I use svoice to make calls, I use svoice to reply to SMS and I'm always playing with it. The lowest battery at the end of a day (by which I mean 7:00am until midnight) was 38%.
I really cant fathom how it would be possible to deplete the battery in just 12 hours.
my use today :
I read 15 sms, 10 mail , take 3 pics and call with my father 15 min with gear speak phone (and the other 15 min with the phone.)
blue tooth connected permanently.
Number of auto wake : ?? A lot !!
Time Out : 15s
last complete charge : this night ( disconnect at 8 am.)
Now I read 1:28 am.
Battery level : 61%
it's all rights !!!

I get 3/4 hours of screen, never got more than 4 and forget 5. Who get 5 or 6 I just don't know how they do that, maybe as I am on 4.3 and not on 4.4 but to me it should not make any difference.
Probably, as the phone is assembled with different hardware pices, like 2 lcd models, then can influence on battery consumption.
Hi,
I used to get 5-6 hours screen on time, but then I started to use more apps and specially listen to more music on it, with 4 hours of music listening I was getting 4 hours of screen on time. Maybe you should try letting it get completely discharged and then charge completely while off. When I was getting a bad battery life it helped me .

Actually I do not complain of battery life when the Phone is in idle as I get more than 4 days in standby with a 30minutes on screen, what bothers me is the time on screen, which is no more than 4 hours. Then I don't know where is the problem.
In my opinnion this depends on how you use the 3-5 hours display time.
If they are continuous it doesnt use that much power. When i'm using it at work (don't judge me) i can get up to 6 continuous hours.
When im using it over the day (12-15 hours) i get around 4 hours and a litte more, wich is kinda "hardcore-user" for most people.
My nexus 4 never lastet that long, i could just get over 2 hours display time when i used it over the day and 3 hours at work...
I usually drain about 20% of the battery for every screen on hour (or about 5 hours of screen on per full charge), and that's using Facebook for a long time (a very well known battery killer).Even on my worst days, I never get less than 3.5-4 hours of screen on per charge. However, I tend to keep brightness very low.
Check the battery usage per application using either the built-in monitor or something like GSam battery monitor. You may have a bad application, or too high brightness, or even low signal strength.
Since yesterday I have a LG G Watch R. Very happy with it but the battery drain is terrible this first day: on average 6,40% per hour. That means 16 hours and that is 30 hours less than advertised.
I have tht newest firmware installed, Facer and WatchMaker and some other apps. MAinly standard watchfaces. Screen is always on.
How was your battery the first day and the days after?
I know from the Moto360 forum that that battery needs a number of charges before it functions optimal. Is it the same for the LGWR?

I got mine today. Charged it to 100% After 2 hours of fairly light use with screen NOT set to always on it has dropped to 86%.
So at 7% per hour it will last just over 14 hours.
It will be going back if there is not a huge improvement.
Huge difference between this and the Moto 360. Sold the 360 on craigsllist already.
I am using facer with ambient mode on; this is basically same as having the screen on the entire time. After 14 hours, 60% battery left!!! So happy right now.
I managed 15 hours yesterday and had 5% left when I put it on charge. Its the first day of ownership though and I spent most of the day playing with it!
Today so far is 6% gone in two hours but I've hardly touched it. Jury is out on if this is going to be another battery killer, I won't be charging it through the day and if it doesn't last then its no use to me.
88% after 4 hours today. Much better.
Sitting watching TV, I noticed something was on the watch screen.
When I looked it seemed to be a search for some sort of porn.
I have only noticed this once so far.
My phone used to do random google searches when it was set to respond to "OK Google"
On the second day the drain is much better/less.
I used mine now for prox. 8 hours and 68% remaining. That's 4% per hour. Yesterday (the first day was 6,4% per hour).
Brightness on 4 (from 6) and always on. Watchface is Facer.
I think and hope tomorrow is even better.
Very happy with the phone btw. Beautifull screen, very quick and I like it better than my moto360. Think I'm gonna sell it !
I have great battery life on the R so far. But the battery drain on my phone after installing Android Wear is pretty significant. Anyone else experince this?
I switched off location services when at home and it helped the phones battery life.
Well I've been running now for 13 hours off charge now and still have 53% remaining! I'm much happier with that.
Using digitalog face and used the LGWR a fair amount today.
Agreed on the phone battery drain though, not sure if it's having Bluetooth on all the time or wake locks from Android wear.
67% after 14 hours of very light use.

I'm surprised they don't advertise this.... I need a watch that does random porn searches!!
44 % left after 16,5 hours. So that is again a lot better than yesterday. 3,4% per hour. Always on and a Facer app. Much, much better than my Moto
I took my phone and watch off charge at 13:00 yesterday. Went out for an hour used the watch a few times. Have used both very little since then but they have been on and connected. 28 hours after coming off charge, phone at 75% and watch at 50%. Quite happy with that. I will obviously get less if using it more but at least I know it will easily last a day.

I assume it could happen with any smart watch. I am surprised I have never heard of it before.
It has not done it again.
On my fourth day of use, the drain is only 3,2% per hour. Always on and a watchface from Facer. I'm impressed.
im really pleased with the battery, after a few days use im not worried at all about whether it will last the day or not. the watch face / colour seems to have an impact, i was used a colour face from facer that seemed to drain it quicker but still a full long day took it down to 30% and i mean like 6am - 10pm.
very impressed!
After a full week of using the G WatchR, the drain is steady around 3% per hour.
I can confirm the number. I get 3.3% per drain hour but the watch wakes up quite often because of the cards, emails and messages I receive on all the clients I use (4 of them). As long as I can manage more than 16 hours on a full charge I'm satisfied.
3 days (3x12 hours) without charging . very good autonomy
