If u use zzmove governor disable all the hotplugs coz it use its own hotplug as anyone knows.
[Q]How i select profile from kernel tweaker app?
[A]You need to go in governor tunable-profile number and select the number of the profile from the list.
Zzmove profiles
1 ) Default -> will set governor defaults
2 )ybat -> Yank Battery -> a very good battery/performance balanced setting - DEV-NOTE: highly recommended!
3 )ybatext-> Yank Battery Extreme -> like yank battery but focus on battery saving
4 )zzbat-> ZaneZam Battery -> a more 'harsh' setting strictly focused on battery saving - DEV-NOTE: might give some lags!
5 )zzbatp -> ZaneZam Battery Plus -> NEW! reworked faster battery setting - DEV-NOTE: recommended too!
6 )zzopt -> ZaneZam Optimized -> balanced setting with no focus in any direction - DEV-NOTE: relict from back in the days, even though some people still like it!
7 )zzmod -> ZaneZam Moderate -> NEW! setting based on 'zzopt' which has mainly (but not strictly only!) 2 cores online
8 )zzperf -> ZaneZam Performance -> all you can get from zzmoove in terms of performance but still has the fast - down scaling/hotplugging behaving
9 )zzinz-> ZaneZam InZane -> NEW! based on performance with new insane scaling active. a new experience!
10 )zzgame-> ZaneZam Gaming -> NEW! based on performance with scaling block enabled to avoid cpu overheating during gameplay

Read sultan's thread carefully..you will find that sultan's cm doesn't support custom kernels..only Arsenic works with that kernel.but if you are using sultan's cm why you need another kernel..just flash cm 13 and flash this kernel or whatever you like.

Yeh sultan use his own tweaks inside and is better stay with stock but other kernels work coz i used sultan's rom on my oneplus3 with other kernel.

Well first of all this isn't Sultan ROM's thread, and there is nothing wrong with trying out new kernels if they are compatible.. the dev was kind enough to upload a version which works.

I'm on CM14.1 with Boeffla kernel. But it lags to much in my opinion. Animations, games all has some stutter. I can install a fresh cm14.1 with this kernel. But is this a lagfree experience for the OPX?

[B][04-29-2013][/B] initial release
Additional stuff:
GPU OC more than 520MHz:
For daily use, i set the max GPU rate to 520MHz. This should be enough.
But if you think, you need more heat to cook something for example, you can go up to 600MHz. Therefore you need to set a new max GPU clock limit. You do this using the following commands:
Code:
echo '<GPU_clock>' >/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/gpu_oc
with <GPU_clock> being your new desired max clock rate
Setting LP max rate:
You have now the ability to set the max speed of the low power core (5th core). You can do this using the following command:
Code:
echo '<LP_clock>' >/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpu_lp_max
with <LP_clock> being your new desired max clock rate
Changing the voltage table:
You have the ability to change the voltages for the processor from now on. But just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Changing voltages is dangerous! In the worst case, you can burn your processor!
I am not at all responsible for damage, caused my my kernel/your settings!
You can find the interfaces here:
Code:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/UV_mV_table <--- CPU
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/avp_UV_mV_table <--- GPU
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/emc_UV_mV_table <--- RAM
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/lp_UV_mV_table <--- LP core
For using @arararagi's hardware customizations, i'd suggest you to use his toolbox from this thread
Stock builds of Werewolf JB
Hi all.
I'll be maintaining WerewolfJB kernel for stock. The links will be listed on this post. I may also upload experimental kernels.
All credits go to @laufersteppenwolf for his excellent kernel.
For now, the link for WerewolfJB v005 stock is this: https://www.box.com/s/okea8s7pdqcgf5soppbi
And for WerewolfJB v005 CM (with increased voltages and new modules for mobile data): https://www.box.com/s/4d3vxivlcu9ebsku6r4f
Flash it via CWM/TWRP.
Note: Both stock AND CM versions have increased voltage for the 1.7GHz step to 1300mV because of reported instability. Be careful in undervolting since the voltage table is slightly imbalanced, so perhaps -75mV can work for some frequencies but not for others. Furthermore, I removed quite a lot of wakelock references in baseband_xmm_power but forgot to revert them back to the "fix", so if you have any baseband instability please drop me a PM. Also please do report battery life performance, along with a screenshot of your wakelocks and ideally a dmesg. Thanks.
==============================
Experimental versions (for STOCK):
None for now.

I would have liked to release the ROM tonight, too.... but my lappy somehow didn't agree with me
Please test and report back. Also about gaming performance.
Is to flash the Kernel with Fastboot the only way ?
Our can I flash it with Terminal Emulator?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
What about battery life?
On official CM when I use 3G Internet, battery drain is very, very fast.

this is a great news, another custom kernel
but I'm still with zaiben rom (base on stock rom) cause for me cm 10.1 rom still not ready for my daily use. I hope you will build for stock rom too
surely I will try your kernel when I'm ready to move to cm official or when you release you rom

This kernel seems good so far - feels smoother and more consistently buttery. I'll have a look for bugs - I don't know about the governors, though.

BRIEF EXPLANATION ABOUT KERNEL FEATURES
UKSM
UKSM is about de-duplication of data in system memory rather than being another de-duplicating file-system. This improves RAM usage.
Dynamic Sync Control
The dynamic sync control interface uses Android kernel's unique early suspend / late resume interface. While screen is on, file sync is disabled. When screen is off, a file sync is called to flush all outstanding writes and restore file sync operation as normal.
Frandom
Frandom is a Linux kernel random number generator, which is 10-50 times faster than what you get from Linux' built-in /dev/urandom. It uses very little (/dev/frandom) or none (/dev/erandom) of the kernel's entropy pool, so it is very useful for applications that require a handy source for lots of random data.
CPU Boost driver
When certain bursty and important events take place, it might take a while for the current cpufreq governor to notice the new load and react to it. That would result in poor user experience. To alleviate this, the cpu-boost driver boosts the frequency of a CPU for a short duration to maintain good user experience while the governor catches up.
FAQ
On which ROM can I install nebula?
- nebula can be used on any AOSP kitkat 4.4+ based ROM. (Carbon, SlimKat, CM11)
What is the best and most stable configuration for nebula?
- Configuration depends from user to user. Still, the most stable configuration according to me and that I use is below. It might differ for you.
- Governor: SmartassV2
- Max. freq: 1.2 Ghz (OCing doesn't really have an increased and noticeable performance, rather it heats the processor and wastes battery for a marginal gain in performance as well as creates instability - random reboots etc. Google more about OC.) (Read the description on this commit.)
- I/O Scheduler - SIO
- Enable UKSM (from Performance Control app)
- Enable Dynamic FSync (from Performance Control app)
- I'll update this configuration as more tweaks are added to nebula
I get random reboots, what should I do?
- I am working on the kernel for myself and the kernel is quite stable for me. Still, if you face reboots see below:
- Make sure you followed the installation instruction written in Post #1.
- Make sure you "Fix permissions".
- OCing will always cause instability. Try reducing the max frequency to 1.2 Ghz
- It is quite possible that you don't know how to use a custom kernel. Not everything needs to be set at HIGHEST. Just because an "option" is there doesn't mean you have to select it. Try changing the configuration that meets your needs and satisfies you. If you set up the kernel properly, it would stop giving you random reboots.
- The only way to get things fixed is to provide logs. I cannot fix that I cannot see. Google, how to take logs to find and solve kernel issues. (kmsg/last_kmsg)
- Tell me a way in which I can reproduce the issue on my phone.
Does hotplugging work well with zzmove governor? I remember trying hotplug on s2vep and it freezed almost everytime while deep-sleeping.

Same issue on baffin too. That's why I have removed zzmoove from the kernel.
hmm... xenon92... already k2wl has made a custom kernel with O.C till 1.8GHz so why have you the max @ 1.6GHz ?

Read the description in this commit - Link
There has already been a discussion on CM11 thread about how much does it really benefit by OCing at higher frequencies. Refer to that thread's discussion for more info.
In short - OCing at too high frequency heats up the CPU (obviously) and doesn't necessarily increase performance.
Even though I have added OC till 1.6 Ghz, but even I don't use that setting. 1.2 Ghz is fine for me.
Another kernel for AOSP rom.....:laugh::laugh::good::good::good::good:
Installed the kernel in carbon ROM and is working fine....:good::good:
ll update more on the battery stat later...
any FC's anybody facing?....anything at all..during call or anything??..just asking..would have tested myself but my net is limited right now till tomorrow......so can't ..will surely tomorrow onwards download evry single one (as m xenon work fan lets say )...but wont risk using mbs if it got any bugs...

It's actually 1797 MHz, so let's say it's only 3MHz shy from 1.8 GHz
This kernel looks promising, I will download, install, and use it for a few days

If the system did a forced reboot to avoid further CPU instability, the options will revert back to default... correct me if I'm wrong.
pawitp also said in the CM11 thread, that the options dont instantly set on system boot. You may have to wait 1 minute and check back.

Debugging the kernel
/proc/kmsg is a file that stores all the kernel messages from the very first seconds of the boot process. A copy of that file isn't always needed to fix a bug, but since I've explained how to get one I don't even remember how many times, I'll write here the needed steps:
1. open a terminal on your phone
2. run the following commands:
- su
- cat /proc/kmsg > /sdcard/kernel_log
3. the log will be stored in kernel_log.

If you had previously flashed the old PhilZ with Rashr, you need to flash stock FOTAKernel to use TWRP in v3.1 and later.
Use this zip that will flash a stock FOTAKernel (thanks to @TechnoSparks): http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/general/stock-components-flashable-zips-t3184111/post62447981
be sure to choose your variant (e.g. C5303)!
Or, if you've got the whole C530x .ftf file, you can also flash the FOTAKernel via FlashTool.

If you want any help related to double tap to wake function you head into galaxy s3's android development section. And there you have to see for arter kernel it is the best kernel for double tap to wake and you could pm the developer for any help
I installed it, all seem work fine. Except I am not able to change a CPU governor, as there is only IO governor option on the performance tab.

That option isn't available with stock kernel too.
Don't use CM's built-in kernel tweaker. It sucks. Use Trickster MOD.
Good work bro
use this mods for next version
- Swap support
- Zram support
- CPU underclock
- CPU limiter
- O3 compression
No need to set SELinux to permissive in this kernel :victory:
So, i've tested it on RR 5.4.0 and it works but cyanogenmod recovery is SAD! can't flash anything so please include CWM, Philz and TW like other kernel.
When i flashed it, it take very long time it's normal?!
Nice kernel, i hope some features are going to be added like fast charge, faux sound and more cpu frequencies. If u want to flash another recovery use Rashr Flash tool.
WOAH a custom kernel for 5.1! Congrats @Tomoms ! I'm going to test it.

If you have already flashed PhilZ w/ Rashr, installing this kernel won't overwrite it.

Yeah, I had to create it mainly because unlocking the bootloader and staying on a featureless kernel seemed nonsensical to me.

why use this kernel
i have rr5.4 build running quite good with philz recovery.
whats the difference bw the rr's kernel and this one.
i would like to know the features before flashing it

A small update for all of you. v2 is canceled since it doesn't boot, I'll release some point releases (1.x) which will include each feature I had previously planned for v2. So within 3 or 4 point releases we'll have what should have been v2. This will help me in debugging. v1.1 is coming today or tomorrow
flashed it but im having philz
many guyz said they lose philz recovery but not im my case

Nice, will check your kernel ASA I can
UPDATE : I NEED TESTERS FOR GOODIX VERSION ELSE IT WILL BE ABANDONED, ITS BIT HARD FOR ME TO MANAGE TWO SEPRATE BRANCHES! PLEASE I REPEAT I NEED GOODIX TESTERS, THOSE WHO CAN REPORT ME IF ITS WORKING FINE! IN PM OR ON TELEGRAM @KabirKalsi2k
Hey, others OC kernel was not efficient (0 gain in performance ), this OC really improve performance ?

Iam Not Joking IT REALLY DOES INCREASE PERFORMANCE... I play GTA : SA ON MAX SETTINGS WITHOUT ANY LAG AT ALL...
I speak about MOVZX kernel by example which was not a joke too but the theorical frequence changed nothing at performance... I will try it next time I will be on MIUI

@KabirKalsi
Stock kernel return error. Do not find a wifi network. Your low CPU is high (883MHz). The charge is like drinking water. How about you make a 200mhz li kernel?
Redmi Note 3 cihazımdan Tapatalk kullanılarak gönderildi
Lte speed too low.
The minimum processor speed must be 200 or 400.
Automatic screen color adjustment must be added.
@KabirKalsi
nice to see new kernel dev on RN3 Pro community
1- the voltage control you are uisng don't work!( i fixed it on my OP3T , but not on my Kate )
2-those CPU O.C frequencies are useless , because bus frequencies remain same.( even O.V won't help )
*newer Qualcomm chips won't overclock ( like old times with SD80x series ) as Qualcomm has locked the chips. only thing we can do is unlock the frequencies which are there ( B Cluster 1840MHz & 1958MHz / L Cluster 1440MHz )*

400mhz and 883mhz takes same amount of power. so it is good to set 883 mhz as minimum
We want to see a kernel with a CPU of 200 MHz.

It seems to work on nougat, but there isnt so much difference when comes to real performance, i mean benchmarks show the same 81k antutu with 20k gpu and 1100SC +3100MC Geekbench 4.. despite both aida and cpuz show the cpu frequencies as you mentioned, 2.38 and 1.71

I don't think so. On my test it's ~12h SoT to 12,5-13h SoT.

Lol, half of an hour, what a difference. But higher clocks reduses lags.

OnePlus 6 / Oneplus 6T
Youtube review of Kernel and Avengers theme by @hypergamer1231
Concept
Flash and be happy out of the box!
The kernel provides 4 Spectrum profiles and 3 Franco Kernel Manager profiles (Pie only) for most usecases. Balanced (default) / Battery / Performance / Gaming. For choosing another profile as Balanced please install Spectrum from the Google PlayStore.
If you want to modify the profiles just run a kernelmanager like EX Kernelmanager and change what you want.
First completely unified kernel for the OnePlus 6/6T OOS and Custom ROMs
One unified zImage!!!
To preconfigure the kernel uses a config file made by well known Senior member @xXx
These are the tunables you could modify:
Defaults in [ ]
Profiles battery, balanced, [performance], gaming
SELinux [permissive] / enforced
CPU minimum frequency [300], 403, 480, 576
GPU minimum frequency 180, [257], 342
GPU Input boost off 257 [342]
GPU maximum frequency up to 842 MHz (comes with 710 stock frequenccy set!)
Flickerfree display mod by @Devries (ImageBreaker kernel OP6T), default is off
Governor setting [pixel_smurfutil] or smurfutil_flex
The SmurfKernel configuration file is placed in /sdcard/SmurfKernel: If you want to use the kernel with it's default configuration just flash it!!! For custom changes please edit the SmurfKernelConfigurationEditor by @tanish2k09. The settings are applied saving the config. Your actual configuration is written to smurf.kernel.bootlog.
It's recommended to use my kernel paired with

Governor
pixel_smurfutil
smurfutil_flex
Pixel_smurfutil is a mix between Pixel 3 schedutil, helix_schedutil and electrotuil. Next frequency selection is load based and in suspend all cores are forced to a lower frequency max level. Three big cores are forced to operate at minimum frequency (825 MHz). One big core could clock up to general maximum, 1300 MHz). In normal operation load based frequency selection is used.

What's the difference between the usual schedutil and helix_schedutil?

The difference between all 4 governors is the way how next frequency is selected. Electroutil and pwrutilx are ramping flatter if the device is suspended. Electroutil is cutting max frequency if device is suspended. Check governor settings, you could adjust it. Helix is ramping frequencies different based on load scenario. Lower load, flatter ramp. More battery friendly in my opinion.
For future versions i'll mix a new governor that combines these concepts.

Welcome & thank you.
@pappschlumpf: Thank you for your kernel! I am trying it since about 12 hours. But I have two questions:
1. How can I adjust the "vibration control"? I can't find anything related to "vibration" in Kernel Adiutor
2. I found a setting in Kernel Adiutor under "Misc" which is named "Software CRC control". What does this setting? I can't get the feature behind the setting from the description itself in Kernel Adiutor. Is it a new feature or something that is only deactivated in your kernel?

With Adiutor you dan't have all options. EX Kernel Manager recommended. The plan is to include Synapse support, like i have in in my Note 8 kernel. But that needs some time. There're many options in the OP6 kernel that the Note 8 kernel isn't supporting.
CRC Control disables the crc check for internal memory access. Faster, but well memory errors wouldn't be detected.
It's not a new feature, most kernels for the OP6 support it.

Thank you for your fast answer. So I will have a look at the Ex kernel manager.
The CRC control is a feature which I didn't see in the other kernels I tried. Maybe they are there but not controllable. That's something I can't see.
To make it clear for me: I see the CRC control as disabled (this is the untouched status directly after flashing the kernel). Is this correct or should be the CRC control activated by default?

Yes, faster option, disabled is default. If your memory is working as expected crc is not needed. On an old device with defect mem you may need it
