i'm looking for a custom rom whith fully functional camera2 api, until february everything was working fine with the official rros, form the update of 25 feb i can't make any "pro" camera app work correctly. i tried some other roms and discovered that the Phoenix AOSP Extended has "functional" camera2 api, but there are problems, the stock camera port has the option to save RAWs but if that option is enabled it won't save anything at all, other apps (like manual camera) save correcly but the screen is always solid green. my question is: is there a custom rom with fully functional camera 2 api? or is there a way to have working camera2 api in rros (i think this is very unlikely without asking the devs)?
i prefer not going back to stock because of OMS and some features of the custom roms.
thank in advance.

I was wondering whether there was any way to get Camera2 API on Lenovo A7000? It'd be nice to get manual focus (like DSLR ) and RAW capture. I'm currently on CM13 maintained by HDHR. I have tried AOSP 5.0, CM12.1 etc, but none of these support Camera2 API. Is it some kernel issue? If yes, which kernel should I use?
Oh! And I have tried the method available for Redmi Note 3. It didn't work as expected. Someone please tell me whether it is at least possible or not.
Thanks.
I am searching for ways to get Oreo stock camera working on custom roms.
I think the reason why the Oreo stock camera does not work on custom roms is Camera API v2.
And I really enjoy GCam. But I also like the panorama mode of the stock app.
Just moving from left to right is better than stitchiing.
Any idea how to get the stock Oreo cam working on a custom rom
in parallel with GCam. Or maybe by rebooting the phone.
Thanks for any hint!
Hi, I have enabled HAL3 and Iam using google camera. I want to use default camera simultaneously, but doesnt work with HAL3 enabled... Please help.
Same issue here too while when enabling camera2api in MIUI (let it be any version)
It was working fine with MIUI 9 beta build of last week November 2017 (exception was using HDR, camera would crash instantly).
Later I have tried in several updates of MIUI with camera2api but stock camera doesn't works.
Not sure if they are doing intentionally because it was working fine before.

Xiaomi haven't enabled the camera2api by default in any of it's devices out of the box or in any updates.
That's what messes up default stock Mi camera as it is designed like that but on some of devices it works fine without any issue even after enabling camera2api.
Even in MIUI 10 they haven't turned on camera2api instead they have implemented portrait mode in Mi camera with own AI and deep camera software learnings.
Hi please can anyone help...
Even i enable this its not working
I tried rebooting.
Flashed the zip files
Applied via magisk
Ntng seems working....:crying:

And by the way if anyone could tell me how to install modify kernel and rom without breaking knox for exynos device many thanks
For getting OTA updates and such seems the last ROM that offers this is Mokee (Android 10): https://download.mokeedev.com/s2.html with Open Gapps pico along with TWRP recovery.
This kernel seems to work as well as a set it and forget it kinda method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/nethunter-kernel-for-android-11.4451823/
Camera. The one linked in this forum seems to have issues with freezing. I found another one that worked flawlessly on Lineage 17 but I didn't backup the APK before wiping the phone and can't remember where I found it.
I don't prefer MoKee and instead would make an unofficial LineageOS build for android 10 (though no OTA) due to my preferences. Keys are public though so if you want to resolve the security alert, then sign with your own private keys. Android 11 is almost ready (including saving photos to gallery), just can't remove fingerprint directly from settings or else the fingerprint won't work.
The nethunter kernel seems fine but there may be less support when encountering bugs as most users use the stock Lineage kernel.
Cameras on custom ROMs may break due to software, bad libraries, etc. The camera that comes from LineageOS blackscreens or closes frequently (even with HAL3 disabled) and you were probably looking for a GCam port.
This phone is for someone else so ease of use like OTA updates is a must.
I'll poke around for Gcam mods till find the one that was used.
mokee or /e/OS then. Don't know about OTA because I haven't tried them, but builds are still being published.
