you have to unlock your bootloader, then flash the recovery i gave the download link above with following command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
then you have to Boot the recovery:
fastboot boot recovery.img
(if Recovery boots. again, i dont own the device)
you need to do a factory restet and then flash the rom.

All the fastboot commands have been removed on this device other then lock and unlock. Until there is a method to flash a custom recovery we can't really do anything.

As there is now an official version of CWM Recovery I updated this thread now. Thanks to everyone who used my version and helped me. I will keep on what I'm doing and maybe there will be other interesting things I will release.
The official CWM Recovery by Koush can be downloaded here:
Images to flash via fastboot
touch-version: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.7-mako.img
nontouch-version: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.7-mako.img
Flashable zips
touch-version: https://www.mediafire.com/?nx826v1jo0bdqdj
nontouch-version: https://www.mediafire.com/?69kmvtcvgooc0gv
For the fastboot images:
You can try this out and boot it via
Code:
fastboot boot recovery-clockwork(-touch)-6.0.4.7-mako.img
(only Android 4.2.X)
Code:
fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot recovery-clockwork(-touch)-6.0.4.7-mako.img
(Android 4.3 and above)
If you want to flash it you can use
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork(-touch)-6.0.4.7-mako.img
If you have the touch-version use this commands without '(' and ')' but with its content.
If you have the nontouch-version use this commands without '(' and ')' and its content-
Outdated as all new recoveries already provide this function.
I also want to present you my revert recovery disabler.
As you know if you flash CWM on Nexus 4 it reverts back to the stock recovery. This patch prevents this. This is not needed at the moment for CWM as CWM offers the possibly to disable the revert by itself.
You can download my revert recovery disabler here: http://www.mediafire.com/?78fkhdh5icz3zdg
This disabler is compatible with mskip's toolkit (uses the same methode).
To use it boot in CWM recovery and flash this as a zip.
If you want to restore the default option and make your Nexus 4 reverting back to the stock recovery you can flash the enabler: http://www.mediafire.com/?19enww985e2gpnc
Thanks to:
Stryder5 providing some information
Kstarz for some testing and providing information
mskip for his toolkit and giving me the idea to do this
pankaj88 for his sample update zip
Old thread said:
I just want to release my CWM Touch Recovery for the Nexus 4.
This version also allows to flash zips from internal storage (and hopefully other storage related stuff).
If you want to you can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?f9b9av06ui5vcdm (UPDATED 11/16/2012)
Using it is at your own risk!
Please test it first via
Code:
fastboot boot cwm-recovery-mako.img
Flashing is not supported at the moment as secured boot prevents from booting flashed recovery. Please note that you need an unlocked bootloader.
For reverting back to original recovery use this one: http://www.mediafire.com/?57zmq7yw089gcr8 (not needed at the moment as only booted recovery works at the moment)
Thanks to:

To clarify, I can confirm the boot method will allow you to boot the recovery and flash a zip file. I did not attempt to flash this as my recovery yet.
---------- Post added at 12:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:21 AM ----------
I tried to flash the recovery instead of booting from it, but that doesn't work. I ran the command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery cwm-recovery-mako.img
When I try to boot into recovery after that, it'll show the Google logo twice, then proceed with the regular boot.
I think this is because Secure Boot is still enabled.
Same thing here..recovery will not stick if flashed

As I built it this afternoon (GMT+1) it is V6.0.1.5 with the latest bugfix which was released today.
Man I can't wait to see some custom ROM's outta here. The phone is sweet and snappy but I've had a few problems that I'm not sure if they're hardware or software related. Quadrant scores are around 4400-4900, the phone rings hot and I'm getting the worst speed test results. Like I get 11-18 MBS on my gs2 and I'm getting like 2-3mbs now. I got two weeks before I can return it so I hope it just needs to stettle. Anyhoo. Good luck guys!

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought this bugfix would allow us to flash the recovery in our devices, then I realized that the bugfix was what let us boot it, as you said a few messages back. Anyway, there you have the official build link.
Can somebody please explain, in simple terms, why we can't flash this permanently yet? What do we need to enable us to flash it permanently?
[RECOVERY][TWRP 2.8.6.0] for Yureka ARM64[Flashable][Lollipop]
Hi guys,
Lollipop has arrived and there it goes the custom recovery for L !
This is TWRP touch recovery for Yureka and this should be flashed only on Lollipop build and not on Kitkat.
What works :
Everything
For now you have to do one extra work replacing a zip file in internal storage. I had to do this to fit it inside 20mb. This extra work will be solved eventually.
Downloads:
* 3.0.0.0 is available and check that out
Flashing Procedure : ( Read carefully )
Download this zip from here and open your Internal storage.
Create a folder named TWRP ( ignore if already the folder is there ). Now open TWRP folder and create a folder named "theme". Now copy the downloaded file ( ui.zip ) into the the theme folder. It should look like below. ( Picture shows SD card as well. But it's not necessary in SD ). The path will be like Internal storage/TWRP/theme/ui.zip
METHOD 1 :
1. Boot your phone into fastboot mode.
2. Then type this command fastboot -i 0x1ebf flash recovery recovery_yutwrp64.img
3. Reboot to recovery and enjoy.
METHOD 2 :
This method is applicable if you are rooted
1. Copy the recovery to SD card
2. Download Flashify tool from playstore
3. Choose install recovery and choose recovery via file manager.
4. Choose flash and reboot. Enjoy !
Should you have queries keep posted in thread and i will help.
ROOT ACCESS:
Additionally if you want to root your phone. Flash this supersu flashable zip by Chainfire and you should have root access

is there no need to unlock bootloader etc., etc......? what's the procedure for an untampered stock phone?
does method 2 apply at all, since yours is the proven method of rooting?
i'm yet to come across any other method of successfully rooting yureka lollipop.
is it actually true that once you upgrade to lollipop there's no going back to kitkat and all those fancy custom roms?

Introduction
Welcome to TWRP for Lenovo Tab M10 X505X. Make sure you read the entire post carefully before you proceed with installation.
Pre-installation
Install ADB and Fastboot. Refer to this link if you need help installing ADB and Fastboot.
Unlock the bootloader. Refer to this link if you need help unlocking the bootloader.
Installation
Flash the TWRP image from bootloader.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Warning:
Do not reboot the system yet. Remove the connection from the device. Hold the power button until it turns off. Then turn it on again with the recovery combo: Power button + Volume Up + Volume Down.
Once booted into the TWRP recovery mode, if you want to flash it permanently(otherwise it will be replaced with stock recovery after a reboot), install Magisk from recovery.
You can goto advanced option in TWRP and use the "ADB Sideload" option to sideload the Magisk zip file. In case sideload doesnt work, use adb to push the Magisk zip file to /tmp and then install the zip normally.
Warning:
Do not push the zip file to /data. The data partition is encrypted and any damage done messing with the data partition will not be my responsibility. You have been warned.
Downloads
TWRP image for X505X
Magisk
Known Issues
From android 9.0 onwards, the data partition is force encrypted and is not available to the TWRP. This is not much of an issue because update zips and ROM flashes usually dont use the data partition. So the data partition is encrypted.

Code:
This is the first version
Upcoming Features
Support for decryption of data partition permanently/temporarily.
Upcoming Project
A custom rom for this device if I get enough support.

I have spent a lot of time on this project. Consider buying me a coffee or donating. It will be great support.

Forgive me for wondering, but I'm looking at buying a tablet, and I wonder a few things, first of which would be, what is everyone's experiences with this tablet??? The next thing I wonder is if you only plan on doing a single rom??? Say for instance, you started out with a CM rom, then did my personal favorite, ressurrection remix... Or maybe do remix first
Either way, I love android, but am missing ressurrection remix since back when I had a phone that supported it... The ressurrection remix rom has so many options it could take a 30$ device and make it feel like a 300$ device, but that's also a problem, because with lots of extra features and settings comes the greater possibility of bugs

RR is available on Project Treble as a GSI. You could try that.
So, I flashed recovery, tried rebooting by holding down power button and the volume buttons and now it's stuck in an infinite boot loop. Screen shows lenovo logo, and then it goes blank, vibrates, and then restarts to lenovo logo again. Holding down the power button won't even shut it off. Please help.
TWRP flashed successfully but sadly the data partition didn't work.
so to make it work, I first formatted the data partition and through the adb sideload I flashed disable-dm-verity (attached) and it now works, data-partition is not encrypted anymore.
I also compiled an orange fox recovery for it and the data partition is also working on it.

Just waiting for TWRP to get started with. Wondering why it's getting delayed for oneplus 8t. It's always been easy and quick with development and TWRP for oneplus devices. Fingers crossed.

So guys I been holding back since this got released. How has the time been for everyone? Any issues? How's battery life?
So, i've rooted my xiaomi note 5 with magisk, and i wanted to do the same with my main phone, and now i cant unlock my phone because i dont want my data lost (the apps are the most important and i have all my other data backed up) and i came across mediatekbootloaderunlcok and im just wondering is it patched or does it still work? because if it works then im definitely rooting my phone. id appreciate it if any of you guys answered my question

yup. it doesnt, tried it
The only TWRP version that works for me is the Dimenzino forks, but those only boot. ADB sideload crashes the recovery, decryption doesnt work thus MTP also doesnt work.
Any other recovery i try also locks me from booting before i reinstall spark.
I've been hating every second with this phone.
When i compare the experience of modding it to my old Redmi 8, this phone is such a pain.
IMEI backups
No ROM's work
No recovery's work.
Now that I have only 1 IMEI i can no longer even go back to MIUI.

This is the only recovery that has so far worked for me to install a ROM through sideload. Otherwise its pretty useless.
Looking at the rom-lord files, theres quite a few roms/recoveries in there, ill try to test the recoveries and let you know.

well, I mean, it's MediaTek....
you can just go port TWRP to your device by yourself, OR use GSI ROMs! (though, GSIs are very.... general, and so, they might not work with certain hardware inside your phone, because they're designed to be a one-size-fits-all solution.) even better, go make a custom ROM for your device by yourself!

So, I figured out how to fix SHRP and other stuff not booting.
Download the last android 11 firmware from here, get the fastboot version. Flash it and then just proceed to flash SHRP and all your roms like normal.

Yes it will, back it up first
If you just want to root it, get the latest firmware from that website, extract the boot.img and patch it via the magisk app.
then just flash it via fastboot.
