Hi everyone!
Maybe you have already used Lcamera with longer exposure time
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/themes-apps/apk-lcamera-longer-exposure-shooting-t3516152
It allows to make great night photos, but this camera has a fairly limited functionality.
So, i took the source code of fully featured Open Camera and did the same - took away exposure time restrictions.
Keep in mind:
- application is unstable with long exposure time
- preview has max exposure time 1/12 sec
- tested only on Nexus 6P, Android 8.0.0
- I changed only a few lines of code and forced to use camera2 API by default
Stock Normal - Stock HDR+ - Open Camera (5 sec, ISO400)

hdr+ is definitely the best mode for everyday use but in some cases ability to use long exposure will be very helpful
How Can I set 5 seconds exposure in the app? or is only for Android 8? i have 7.1.1, many thanks.
Same question, on Lcamera I can change it at least up to 4 seconds and takes very good pictures but the UI is very old and too simple

I've just updated the post
it says "cannot be installed" on Nexus 6p (8.0)...
Any ideas?
Works great. Waw. Thank you. Can you share the source code ? Github?
Waw.. Working perfect..
Incredible.
The maximal I get before this mod was 1/12s.
In fact, When I use 5s I get 9s exposure and when I use 1s I get 3 s exposure. It's possible to use with iso 60 to.
Low iso + long exposure in our right noise cam sensor is amazing..
Please, maintain this always updated.. Send to github for future mods...
Can you compile using 30 seconds instead 5 for a test?
Thank you so much

Yea. My previous post I didn't read it. Thank you.
Can you try to compile using 30 seconds to test? I need to install all the sdk/studio to do it.
If possible.
Maybe you have your environment already setup there to do it.
Please?
Obs: I just read your 60 seconds APK. Thanks.
Thank you

The limit using our non modded kernel seems to be 10.2 seconds.
The open camera time is not linear insde the 5 seconds. Show 5.3 seconds but count 10 seconds. Show 1 second but count 3 seconds. Is working under some exponential sequence.
Curious that the minimal expo change to and same using the auto mode now control the iso aperture better than the non modded one.
Thank you.,.
Tested it on my Google Pixel XL

So I have been using lcamera for low photography. It's true that it doesn't have even the basic of camera controls and options. For that reason, I got very excited when I saw this post. So tried the modded opencamera app on my google pixel xl.
So the lcamera seems to be giving more exposure time when set on 5s than the modded opencamera app set on 5s. I might be wrong so I've attached the images I took. Have a look and please explain and discuss what is happening here. if we can really get a 5s or more exposure on opencamera fully functional, that'll be amazingly awesome.
for example, the stars are more visible in lcamera on iso40 than modded opencamera on iso50, 5s exposure on both.
xdaforum was giving me error 500 when trying to upload the 2nd set of images so i've attached the zip file with all images.

lcamera VS moded open camera
Hello. Problem is maybe not only in exposure time. Time to take 5s exposure is similar on both apps - lcamera and moded open camera on my phone. But I need to double iso setting on moded open camera to have similar brightnes of fotos.
in google pixel XL does not allow to take pictures with more than 5 seconds of shooting time, for more than this value is higher, some solution?

Yes sir
Working on PA 4.45
It's not the same as OPPOs Super Zoom, the file size is actually decreased and the resolution is decreased. However noise seems to be reduced.
Auto
Clear Image
Is there a setting for Clear Image (as I can't find one) or does it take better pics automatically?
I did some small tests and I wasn't impressed, as mentioned above, file size is actually smaller than a normal picture.
I'd imagine selecting ISO100 in settings could yield better results. (During the day)
How can you tell if clear image is enabled or is it always on a as I don't see it anywhere in any options.

Press the little wand icon and enable it as a picture mode. Then swipe through the list on the viewfinder to get to it.
Edit: Further testing seems to show that all 'Clear Image' does is reduce image noise at the cost of a small bit of resolution. So it is rather aptly named, however this may also result better low light pictures. As shown below, taken under a desk.

in the opposite, i think that your photos demonstrate great results as the noise almost dissapeared
which is outstanding for any mobile camera

I said noise is reduced, so our statements agree. However you have to factor in that this takes about 3.5 seconds to take a picture, but yes the pictures are impressive.
I appreciate the new mode for clearer images, I was hoping for something closer to OPPO's camera that creates a higher resolution image from multiple pictures or Sony's superior auto mode that over samples pictures to create one image

I just noticed that with the new Clear Image mode, all shots appear to be 4:3 even when my camera is set to 16:9 (9.7)
Is this just my imagination?

I am running it now, on a Oppo Find 7a with the latest CM nightly on it and it runs very fine, just like the previous version ..... BUT ...
I can not find the "clear image" mode in my list .... Between which modes is it ? I have 29 modes (auto,HDR,Smart scene etc ..
(and the stock camera app on the Oppo can do those High res pictures. )
How many modes do you have ?
Thanks, Sparcky
Hi,
Running crDroid v4, installed the apk and can only work for a few shots and it will revert back to stock CM11 camera. I even disable the stock cam and clear cache and data, problem still persist. AND, there's no Magic Wand to change settings to 'Clear Image'.

look, I know the poster should have known root was required - and asking a second time showed how little he does know - but it really isn't necessary to get nasty - it breeds contempt and that is not an environment conducive for good things - you could have easily told him yes root was needed and briefly explained why he should have known without directly calling out his ignorance. That would have been implied in your answer without really saying it.
It isn't all that big of a deal - but one post of negativity leads to another and another and it just isn;t necessary - I am not wanting to get into big fight over this - just thought I would share my two cents.

absolutely - I ahve taken some amazing photos with this camera - I own a 13MB Sony DSLR with Telephoto - with the exception of the Telehpoto images I have taken with the sony - the close ups and macro type images I have taken with the S6 camera stand up to any I have taken with the Sony. AMAZING that such quality images can be taken with a camera on a cell phone. Pretty close to the Number 1 reason I bought this phone. (funny - I buy a phone for the camera ! - but the benefit is that I can make phone calls with it to, and a lot more.... - LOL)
thanks

Awesome man! Thank you for posting. I'll give it a try today.
Is there a reason none of the gcams so far have working slow motion video? I find it hard to believe that the hardware on this phone is incapable of slow motion... And this version removes the option all together...anyone know why? Can we get a working version with slow motion? I really miss that feature. Found it VERY handy when troubleshooting fast moving machinery at work.

I can't make it work on 8.1 yet...
On the MGC_6.1.021_RazerPhone2_V1a version, if I use the double-click side button shortcut to start Gcam, normal camera mode does not save images after capturing them. Switching camera mode works around this issue, but is inconvenient.
If I start Gcam normally from the app drawer, the camera mode saves images as usual.
Can you reproduce this issue?

Perfect, works great!
Will you consider adding telephoto lens toggle similar to other Gcam branches?

If add it so that it works without fixing build.prop then the Google lens will not work.
Abousltely beast. Salute my man.
I tried installing this apk but i get the "app not installed" when i try to install it. Anybody have an idea what it could be?
EDIT: Nvm, I did not uninstall an older version of the app. Now that i did, it installs fine.

Possible to do one version with the aux camera but without Google lens? Or you are working on a fix on this?

Aux lens has less light sensitivity, it has no stabilization, so it makes the photo under any conditions worse than the main lens. aux lens is not needed ...
Any way to get this updated with the 60fps video recording?
So I downloaded and installed the new version today. The camera is much, much faster, but it crashes every time I try to take a video. Is there some combination of settings causing this?
Edit: I changed the interface style (in the mod menu) from Pixel III to Pixel II, and video now works! However there is now a bright flash at the beginning of the video that is actually captured in the footage.
For android 9.0 need to do it all over again. It will take some time.

I don’t know yet ... There will definitely be tracking focus in video mode (example: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10AGDx3aDS0Bue7lv1Ql1eMw4DEhQr21h) and there will definitely not be slow-mo, since the CONTROL_AE_AVAILABLE_TARGET_FPS_RANGES key will give a maximum of 30 fps for Android 9.0, and for slow-mo need 120fps.

Either way, without your work I'd have returned the phone the day after I bought it. So thanks again!
Would love a Pie version as well. Just ordered the phone with the price drop and camera is one thing that's lacking
Hopefully there is continued development. I just bought my wife this phone coming from the s8+. Can you add a TIMELAPSE option? She used that a lot. Thanks.

Can't take 20 MP photos with front camera
Hi! I'm using Google Camera ports since I was using Nokia 6 (2017). Now I'm using Nokia 7.2 with Google Camera port installed. With this, I can't take 20 MP selfies (at least 8 MP is OK). Front camera only takes pictures with 5 MP's. I think, comparably the original Nokia 6 was way more better than Nokia 7.2 and other Nokia phones these days.
After update android 10 this mod doesn't working(
which mod not working?
edit:
parrot43 gcam currently working good.
I found out that most gcams don't work after the update to Android 10. I have problems with slow motion, front facing camera and with some builds even with hdr processing.
I have seen a lot of recommendations but most of them have one of the above bugs.
After a lot of tries I think the only build that has hdr, slow motion and front facing camera is PMGC_7.0.009_HDR_Version_V13 from Parrot043.
What do you recommend?

Can anyone please make a gcam for Nokia 7.1 (Android 10)? Because all of the versions I installed specific and boom specific for my phone didn't work. It would take pics 2 or 3 times and then won't capture. It would be really helpful if there is a proper functioning gcam.

I really do appreciate your effort but still it doesn't work. It takes one pic and then it won't. I have to restart the phone to take again. I think the only possible way is to create a custom port specifically to Nokia 7.1. Please xda developers, make a gcam specifically for Nokia smartphones.

What is the difference between the different versions?
I will prepare a collection of photos from Camera app and gcam. From my observations it's 50/50 which means that some are better on Asus and some on Google cam. From what I see is that in very difficult conditions - like against direct sunlight - Google makes more pleasent photos, but Asus is generally brighter and in shadows keeps more natural colours. In dimmspaces Google keeps the colours as they are, however.
Most of the times during day theres no visible benefit of google. Also HDR+ takes much more time to shoot. HDR is quick, though.
I've read on zenfone 7, that is possible to activate the 64mpixel. I tried all IDs, but no-one works. On zenfone 7, the write that I'd is 6
ID 6 crashes the app so it does not work.
After todays photo session I can say that the gcam is not an upgrade. In most cases stock camera is better. Actually looking at the app versions it seems that the stock camera IS Google Camera with some slight adjustment.
If the sharpness of the stock cmaera could be slightly reduced to avoid pixelation it would be perfect. Maybe some manual log change will be possible for that.
I have created a folder with various photos from the Zenfone 8 taken on the stock camera and on the gcam.
You're welcome to take a look and compare by yourself - all data and an easy way to differentiate the cameras is the "info" where gcam has PXL_ in name and stock has P_
Comments on album are welcome.

In my opinion the stock camera is generally better and produces more true to life outcome. It is a little bit to bright and the sharpness in details is a little to big. You can see that only by zooming in. This can be overcome by shooting 64MP which happens quick but the size is bigger.
Thank you for your contribution, nice photos!
From what I can see, the gcam has more sharpening and saturation, which I like in photos.
But I prefer the HDR management of the stock camera, I love how it captures the clouds.
Is there a way to adjust contrast and saturation on the stock camera?
Yes and no, there are no options for that but you can slightly lower the brightness during the photo taking with a slider onscreen. That makes them a little more like gcam.
I have also noticed that HDR on stock is really nice but it softenes the image and destroys edges. With no HDR it super sharp.
Also stock wide camera has almost no distortion where gcam is quite round on edges.
New photos added to the album. The latest update seems to improve HDR very much. It's now better than gcam in almost every case.
thanks for sharing your experience, for me most of the times the gcam pics look much better on a calibrated monitor.
do you know if Face retouching and night sight are working with this gcam version?

I saw that selfie camera, during night, the HDR doesn't work properly. But also the stock camera, all selfies in the night are very cheaper quality :/
Edit: I put the selfie camera with "pixel 4 settings", it works now!

4k/60 fps doesn't work with gcam, is saved as 4k/30fps.. Would like to use GCam for filming because it has much smoother zooming while recording, in the default camera app the zoom is very choppy.
