[UNOFFICIAL][CAF] Paranoid Android 7.2.3 - AOSPA - Mi5s
We’re really excited to announce that we are releasing our Nougat flavour of Paranoid Android. We have a lot in store - with a mix of both features & improvements.
First & foremost, we have moved our code base to be fully CAF based. This brings many improvements to your device. The key improvement here is that Qualcomm hardware is better tuned on the CAF base and with our additional optimizations we can provide a smooth and fluid user experience that will let you enjoy using your device without any lags.
On first launch you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson who’s teamed up with us again and created several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those of you who don’t know, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work stands itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We have also added several new features and made improvements to the UI of the system that we believe would enhance the overall experience.
Pie
We’ve been working hard on redesigning this key feature of our portfolio and we’re really happy with how it has turned out. The whole design has been reworked and it fits in well with the overall feel of Google’s Material Design. This gives you the opportunity to use more gesture based control for navigating, rather than using the standard Navigation Bar at the bottom of your screen. Expect improvements and additions in the future.
Color Engine
We’re proud to announce our newest feature - Color Engine. Color Engine allows you to seamlessly change the colors of your device to be in Light, Dark (Pixel) and Black modes with a variety of accent colors to choose from. This makes changing the theme of your device really quick without having to install any extra packages on your device.
Pocket Lock
This feature prevents any form of accidental input when your device is in your pocket by disabling input sources. You can simply release Pocket Lock by long pressing the power button as highlighted by the minimal UI incase of any sort of obstruction or dust on the sensors.
Accidental Touch
Accidental Touch is a feature useful for many, especially the gamers out there. It prevents any sort of accidental touch on hardware buttons while the touchscreen is in use. This means you won’t experience any unexpected behaviour while playing games, web browsing or even when attempting to reach your finger out to the edge of that humongous display.
Major features:
- Reworked Pie
- Color engine
- Pocket lock
- Immersive mode
- Buttons customization (including navigation bar)
- On the spot controls (OTS)
Minor features:
- SafetyNet Compatibility
- Battery/Notification LED control
- Recent tasks locking
- Battery icon customization
- Google now page in default launcher
- Accidental touch
- Three finger swipe Screenshot
- Substratum (OMS) support (Color engine will be deactivated if you use Substratum)
- Quick pulldown
- Various performance and battery improvements
- Display Burn-in protection (for OLED screens)
- More to explore

why don't you read 2nd post?
Let's see if I get it right. Before installing Paranoid, do I have to delete Google accounts on the ROM I am using?
No. Just don't login to it when you install this Rom. Login only later not in the wizard
@jpg3927 or @mesziman, another question: in the instructions, they talk in the first step of the installation of a sign, but I have not seen any link. What firmware would it be?
finally it's here

I think that's optional. They always extract the firmware from china devs. I use this one from 4pda :

Only dev can answer it ! For example LOS has minimum firmware requirement as of now afaik 7.7.6.
It is best to install the firmware to ensure compatibility.

Thank you so much for this wonderful surprise OP! :good:

Glad it was you dude!!
Accidental touch not working for me. Can someone confirm?
Great, we finally have AOSPA for Osprey
I know it's a nuisance the question, but could you try to keep the development of the rom? I know you are the developer for AEX Osprey but this rom seems to me magnificent that it would be sad if it was left without development :/

I think it's stable v6.0 , no crash no freeze. Can't wait for February security update and OTA maybe. Thanks dev
Update:

There's v6.1 update
Live display has been fixed, adding OTA, weather info i don't know how to activate, gcam working great except for selfie with hdr on. Other than that, i think this rom is good for daily use, so smooth.
How about video call on whatsapp?

Is it safe for day-today usage?
What would yoz say is better Superior vor Viper? And why? I'm on superior but open for a change if Viper is Vetter in RAM Management, Battery or speed.
I found these things :
1. There isn't screenshot ( if i wrong ,you tell me ).
2. Cannot change the hardkeys . and i was confusing about how to open recents app. ( now so i use button remapper to change menu button with recents app).
3. Some apps still got crash. (mxplayer, instagram, etc)
4. Led isn't working when device is charging.
overall this rom is insane smooth . thanks

I'm using it now and I'm agree with u in everything that u just say. And I also was wandering if there could be a call recording option too. Its insanely smooth alright but I don't like the condition of free ram. Its only 1k free when I haven't installed any soft

Have you installed it? Is it released? Official or unofficial?

It's still unofficial, no OTA, using FrancoKernel, more customization option (Havoc Settings), more smooth on normal using, great on audio volume (but sadly no volume step), battery looks so good, it has xiaomi doze, ... I found it on 4PDA conversation thread, no description, just download link.
I think it's great rom and suite to me.

Messenger keeps crashing and I only get it to open once in a while. Is this happening with anyone except me? It's not the first time this happens while using a Pie ROM. Besides this everything is working perfectly.
Weird,,, orange fox read this non-treble rom,,,

NOTE: Please keep in mind that these are Gapps Builds and there is no vanilla build of this rom available.
NOTE: It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine. As you know build is free but building ROM needs a server. And Maintaining source and device stuff needs a server and it's pretty expensive for a student. It will be really helpful and appreciated if you donate or contribute to us. Also if you have any queries related to donation you can freely message -> Saurav (Founder & lead Dev)

wow, thanks for this christms gift sir. will try and give feedback afterwards
btw can i flash this one over my pixelplus ui v3.9?
how does this unlimited google photos upload option work?
Excellent ROM.
Got everything working from the get-go.
And a nice Android 12 look and feel.
Good job !
The only thing not working is the "Night mode" which doesn't seem to activate no matter what I do. (I'm expecting orange-ish colors you know, to reduce eye strain). But no...
Also, one thing I like on Android 11 was the ability to customize icon shape (rectange, triangle, etc...). I don't seem to be able to find that again.. Then again that might be part of Android 12..
But all in all, this is pretty great
EDIT : almost forgot, I flashed the latest stable Firmware here before I installed Project Elixir :
[Firmware] Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 [lavender] [Auto updated daily!]
All Xiaomi users suffer from a single problem, Firmware update. As there are many devices with no one to provide the newest firmware update every single release. And also developers who provide updates to devices may forget or be busy sometimes...

Thanks, good rom.

Came to talk about that.
I think I have gained like 25-30% of battery life using this, it's really amazing on a 2.5 years old phone.
I read that there has been work on improving battery life on Android 12. So this just being a12 could be the reason alone for that.
But anyway, nice work and nice ROM, again !
Missing N/W indicator
I really like this ROM. It's nice and smooth, looks great, pretty responsive.
However, out of the blue, the system UI started dying whenever wired headphones are connected, and will not come back while they are plugged in. Once I unplug them, the UI starts back up on its own and the lockscreen appears again.
Looking around, somebody said that this was caused on a different device by an overlay not supported by SystemUI. I remember disabling (or trying to) the option for speaking to Google Assistant (even though it's not supposed to be on) with wired headphones, don't know if that's at all related.
In the meantime, I can only guess that this could be fixed with a data wipe, but I haven't even had the ROM installed for 24 hours and that is frustrating.
I captured a logcat through the terminal, I hope it's useful.
Edit: I can't see if the file is actually attaching, please tell me if you can see it.

First of all, Thanks for this wonderful C.Rom.
I'm wondering if in the future updates, you're going to add a feature whenever you input your Security Pin at the Lockscreen (when it's correct) it'll automatically unlock instead of having to tap on enter button?

You can find it on:
Settings > Essence
The text on the status bar, it's not properly centered ( it's a little bit higher)
Yes
Installed successfully. So far its good. I've experienced a few bugs like when changing wallpaper from setting, the system hang. Have to lock the screen first. And, after using different custom rom anything related to a12, the Bluetooth quality for my earbuds is dropping especially in volume, The sound quality from is thin. Experienced the same issue with the speaker.
