I don't know why you thought this was even a possibility with a locked bootloader. Good luck with all that
Edit: oh, it's an emulator that doesn't even work well yet?
Yeah. I wanted to go the emulator route but it will not work for me.
Hmmmmm, where can I find more info on this emulator?

I have an unlocked vivid, that was unlocked over a year ago.
I want to relock and go back to stock ruu, but adb/fastboot cant find my phone no matter what I do...
I have tried all the usb ports, installing htc sync and all the drivers, and this. When I try using hasoon's toolkit to install the drivers, literally nothing happens.
I have Windows 8, will switching to linux solve this? any help appreciated
In develop options, make sure USB debugging is on

When changing the drivers in zadig did you put the phone in dl mode? Also try using windows 7 or older. The restore never failed on me, not even once.

There's an mj5 and nb4 stock rooted restores here somewhere in general thread. You put them in your twrp backup folder and RESTORE like a backupped rom.

There is also a adb (android-sdk-tools) version for Mac afaik. Google or YouTube adb and mac and you`ll find lots of threads. Link https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#Other.
Wrong section and adb works perfectly fine (better in fact) on Mac.

you do not use adb to root, ever. you use fastboot. fastboot to unlick your bootloader and fastboot to flash a recovery. then you use your recovery to flash supersu. there's no adb involved. why do people keep thinking that you use adb to root???

other devices had one click root apps, and towelroot. android 5.0 and the nexus 6 dont have them(yet). with a computer is the only way you can unlock your bootliader. and its an easy 3 word line.. fastboot oem unlock. is that difficult? its a nexus, there isnt any hacking needed. google sets up all nexus so its easy to unlock the bootloader and then gain root.

un·licked
\-ˈlikt\adjective
1
:lacking proper form or shape

archaic*:not licked dry
Current definition, or archaic?
in the future, there very well might be a way to root without a computer, but right now there just isnt any other way. and adb isnt ever needed.

I have the same problem. The device appears as mi5 on 'Portable Devices'. However I can't flash a ROM inside it. ADB recognizes the device. I suppose it is a driver problem.
