I want Android Oreo NOW Today

I paid 1200 US $ ( in my country) and I still have to wait for Oreo ! S8 user Got Oreo last month but note 8 users not? I paid much more money than S8 users, So I Expect to get Oreo Before S8 Users

Oreo for note 8 just became available as a beta system. I'm running it on my note 8 right now for sprint variant. Search through this thread and you should find it. Oh and also it's only for the snapdragon variants.

No, in all seriousness, I would prefer to wait and get a good, stable and worthwhile Oreo than a half baked one ... it's not as is it's going to turn the phone into a brand new one!

OP let me sum up the Samsung experience for you: great hardware , camera and unbeatable, addictive software features. Not the fastest or smoothest UI and your updates will lag 4-6 months behind Android.
Learn this and live with it.

Oh please: stop whining!
1st of all: S8-users (the most of them, NOT in BETA) DON'T have Oreo either (yet)...
For the Note8 (Snapdragon-version), a "test-version Oreo" has leaked already...
But: what do you want? An UNSTABLE test/beta-version, or a STABLE version later?
Do you have "problems" now with your Note8? You can't "CALL" and/or "APP" anymore?
Have patience...
And if you want to have all updates/upgrades "instantly", you should have bought a Pixel!

Only some Sony and Nokia device have Oreo atm and the Google phones of course. So stop whining and wait and see will get it in 4 to 6 weeks. If you can't sell your phone and buy a phone that comes with Oreo.

If you want to whinge then come over here to Australia... We have a version of android that has to be edited before release to remove icons Apple have copyrighted (don't get me started on that). That puts it out weeks to months after everywhere else gets it, and if you have a carrier phone you may not get it at all....
We can stamp our feet and scream out "We want it now" but it really doesn't matter... Be thankful you get it so damn early...

I tried it. It is half-baked, and to be honest, there are not that many differences. I switched back to nougat as it wouldn't play nice with my gear S3. I'm waiting for official. It shouldn't be too long now.

I have just went from the S8+ to the X2 Pro and I was surprised how much the X2 Pro is advanced if you compare to it to the S8+ .... loading times, installing apps, GPS catch, network, wifi retention, don't want to talk about the autonomy or the screen on time.... it's just another world. You can switch to the X2 Pro without hesitation. :good:

I also would say go for it , this phone is really great. i have the chinese version and i love it (just takes some extra adb commands and patience to work well in the usa). if you can get the global id say grab it and enjoy !!!

Oneplus One X Realme X2 Pro?
Hello guys, I have a Oneplus One and I have been very happy with it during these 5 years, mostly because of the support it has at software level (many custom ROMs are available for it), but now it is old and it gives me some performance errors. So that I want to upgrade my phone and I have seen this Realme X2 pro pretty interesting, however I am hesitating if this phone will have as much support as Oneplus brand, because I want it to last a lot and I think this is only got thanks to the community.
Do you think this phone will have a big community behind? I would like to flash it with an AOSP custom ROM sometime.

Iphones are good for long software updates. Huawei has a lot of issues with maintaining their new HMS since Trump went full child mode because apparently Huawei spies, even tho a lot of american tech (excluding Apple, i guess) spy on us since the dawn of time.
Emui 10 got rolled out in China for p20 pro, not sure if it is beta or not.
I will be switching (possibly) to an Iphone xs max, because i grew tired of software update issues and all. I really hope i don't get any hate because i want to switch to an apple product. Android is great too, but Google likes to ruin in each update

Beta completely locks the bootloader, some people on the forums claimed that, as well as being a permanent lock

Simple. If you care about bootloader, go to oneplus or any other brand that allows custom roms. If not, stick to Huawei or go to Apple since it's the only brand who respects old devices(reason the price costs a kidney and a half) . Xiaomi counts too but they update their MIUI, not the android version, as well as oneplus too but uhh, not so sure about them yet.

Huawei isn't really such a bad company. It's only that they are too lazy to provide after sales support for any sort of device. I get it, Trump issues, Google issues, HMS issues. They should roll out Harmony OS as a beta software from devices that have Kirin 970 and up and let everybody develop apps and all, as well as test the software and allow people to report any sort of bugs. This way, the production of it will be a faster way to finish and polish Harmony OS. Their ego with "We are ready to replace you, Google" just make things worst, to the point where Trump can add a law to restrict all Chinese brands (yes, including Xiaomi and maybe Oneplus) from using Android all together, then everybody would be stuck on Android Q (or lower).
Either way, until Huawei fixes their issues and learns how to coop with the xda community and customers (now they need developers with HMS to develop apps, are we Huawei?), i will stick to Apple's Iphones, because even a 5 years old iphone still gets the latest software ( reason being the services, ofc). This is a lesson to be learned, Huawei. I am not the type of person who cares about bootloader and custom roms, but still, either coop with the community or watch your brand slowly die.

well if you want custom ROMs and other stuff then it will be wonderful decision. I have honor 5x and trust me huawei emiui sucks bigtime lol

Please there are custom roms out there. Miui crap and emiui crap are same. Pure aosp is love. As far as I can tell when you are on xda you definitely know what is custom rom right! Emiui is riddled with so much crap that phone lags like hell. Compare my honor 5x with android 10 when honor ditched it with android 6 and that too use to lag like hell lol. So never buy a honor device in future or just don't buy any device which can't be unlocked in first place or just buy apple locked s***

nexus 5 with custom Android 10/11 rom then? these are for research uses I.e. power of bloatware per mb

You'll lose wireless/reverse charging, OLED screen, DEX like computer mode and a top class camera array so keep your P30 Pro. Really you should only consider the jump if your battery isn't holding out or you're pissed at the lack of updates as the M10T is a downgrade in all but the CPU/GPU.

Huawei never have battery problems compared to Xiaomi as MIUI crap drains battery crazy.
Maybe Xiaomi is not a good choice in case of replacing a huawei phone.

My heart is set on OP10Pro because it looks great so my only question will OP10Pro see any custom development? because its been many days since release but nothing appeared on xda or anywhere else for this device? Thanks

Believe me my heart is set on this devices, i am currently using Redmi Note 10 Pro and its a device with lots of developments i am already using Android 12.1 (12L), i would like my next phone to be similar in development anyway what about the performance and battery backup? Thanks

I think something will come because of Oneplus phones are easy to root, unlock and not that muc harder to make some custom stuff, but I am not developer, just guessing. Also, Oneplus hasn't released needed drivers etc. yet. Anyway I heard Lineage OS has started to be developed for this device, so we need to wait.

It really depends on the scene. When it's day and normal sunlight, pictures are great, selfie camera is good too, but face hasmore like pastel colors sometimes. And night scene.. I haven't tried taking pictures at night yet.

Daylight and Night mode pics are great.
Some redness seen on face color some times.
Low light pics needs improvement and slow motion is worst quality.
The 150 lens is great to try and I loved it tried selfie by rear 150 lens and it looks great.

Downloading as we speak, says 5-6 hours for total download time though
Edit: it took 14 hours to complete the download
