Just wondering what is the kernel version for Nokia 7 Plus.
Also with kernel version > 4.4 and Oreo(Trebel) Shouldn't it be easier for OEMs to provide support for more than 2 Years? (I understand its the company's decision but just asking).
The kernel version is 4.4.78

FYI I've merged/rebased the Tegra 3 platform kernel (3.1.10) with mainline Linux kernel v3.3. github repo/tf700 forum thread. I'm working with Asus TF700T's kernel sources. While the kernel is certainly different than the one used by Nexus 7, comparatively few additional modifications would be needed to port it to Nexus 7 as both of them are built on the same Tegra 3 SOC. I plan to continue until at least mainline Linux v3.5 is merged.
Is this a SPAM or what? You post same topic and content @ HTC One XL secton as well.

Why would it be spam? hes posting because tegra 3 devices beyond the tf700 can benefit.
When are you planning to release a beta Kernel?
Really good!!
Now I hope that some of our talented devs will start working with this.

I do not own a Nexus 7 thus any releases depend on some developer picking up my work and adapting to Nexus 7. However, since Nexus 7 not only uses the same SoC (Tegra 3), but is built by the same vendor (Asus) on the same platform (cardhu), there's much less work that will need to be done. It's very likely the developer will spend less than one percent of time that I've spent.
I hope someone does this. I wish I could learn to do it but don't know where to learn. I'll be a tester lol

I have a Nexus 6 on Build LYM47Z. For Marshmallow, its using build MRA58K.
I'm in the UK and use Vodafone. Will there be any implications if I was install the build manually? like compatibility, phone frequencies etc
Thanks
Nope. Flash away...

This build works on every Nexus 6 in the world. Though it is recommended Project Fi users do not use it.
When will pixel stock rom will be available for nexus 6
Pixel and Pixel XL are 64-bit phone. Nexus 6 is a 32-bit phone and Google already announced it won't update it anymore with major Android versions (only security updates).
If you want to try "Pixel's ROM", your best bet is Pure Nexus ROM which is available at Nexus 6 - Android Development.

Never. As Stated all code from here on out is built for 64 bit devices. Also the Pixel is not nearly as open as the nexus. They use a propritary closed sourced systemui among other things. If you want the latest stuff then build from AOSP. If you want what a pixel has then get a pixel.
As much as I vowed I would never get a single Lenovo product again, I recently realised what a fool I had been by accusing the recently released kernel sources for the Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus of being incomplete without considering anything on my end such as gcc version. I realised that my gcc version simply wasn't able to compile the kernel sources right now because kernel compilation is working fine in an Ubuntu 16.04 systemd container vs the Ubuntu 18.04 host and containers where it errored out at topology.c. Now that we can compile kernels for the Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus, I'd love to see some custom kernels and ROMs for this tablet. It looks like it could become a good replacement for the aging Nexus 7 (2013) which even community support has to end for at some point. I'm currently downloading the LineageOS 15.1 source and am also compiling the kernel for the Tab 4 8 Plus at the same time. If I can get this kernel booted on Lenovo's Oreo ROM, then I may be able to see what I can do on porting LineageOS 15.1 and even 16.0 to this tablet.
How it's going?
Nice!
Any progress?
Any thing new about this tablet.amazing hardware but no more custom roms and kernels...please some one guide me how to do that(porting room
Thanks
I am working on porting a similar tablet, but am stuck on a build issue. Looking for someone to help!
