Download done. Will install later today and report back . One question though, is it really worth upgrading from B586 to this?
Is there any ui changes?
nope
Only security update, I can confirm that. Even changelog says that. If you care about Google security patches, then it's worth updating. If not - don't waste your time.

I searched about it, the content of the security is all marked as critical.
So because of it, ill update my rom.
Updating now. I've noticed that the update numbers go +2 in every new update (B586+2=B588). The next update will be EMUI 4.1? I've seen on the builds that 4.1 is B890+. Anyone know anything regarding this?

Well, Vodafone's EMUI 4.1 is marked as a B890, so... :d
Probably our non-branded will have a different number code, but in fact we don't know when it's gonna be released.

Taking into consideration that B586 came in December and B588 in January, i am confident that when (if) B890 comes, it will be in February. Although i tried EMUI 4.1 on one of those custom roms, it isn't something really special. Just one step closer to nougat i guess (if that comes to our phone too )
Don't delude yourself - official Nougat (EMUI 5.0) won't come.

I dont think B890 is really a P8 Lite rom. I belife that its a rom from another Huawei phone ported in P8 Lite, branded as Vodafone to make ppl belive its for P8 Lite.
Personaly I dont belive we gonna get 4.1 emui.
Why you think like that? B890 was officially released by Vodafone through OTA...
There are many custom roms based on EMUI 4.1 for the P8 Lite. Even if what you say @Azzureux is true, 4.1 can work with the phone and will most likely will. From what i've read we will not get EMUI 5.0 but we will get EMUI 4.1 that will make use of some "ported back features" from EMUI 5.0. I don't know what that exactly means, but i guess we are gonna have to wait and see.
Cannot install TWRP after thge update. Any help.? Only once I finally got to install TWRP and entered the recovery but after reboot, there was no custom recovery, only the stock one ....
Because it's stock Rom and it includes stock recovery, which is overwrited on the custom one.

Best software version

Hi all
I have a c432 device
I've had nougat since the beta, currently using b386.
What's the best software version to be on right now? I feel that 386 is a quite laggy, as was 378.
Is this just a nougat problem and b182 is where we should be?
I too would like I know this and also is the battery life still an issue on MM?
Thanks.

Fastest Version of Huawei P9

Can anybody recommend a version or build of the best version of P9? Like the older updates and such that has longer battery and better performance etc? Thanks in advance !
the slow but best solution:
wait until official oreo rolls out in europe, flash/update to emui 8, install a treble GSI.

Note 8 from oreo to pie and back

Hello friends im courently on android oreo january security patch and its running flawlessly, in a couple of days android pie shoud arive and my question is before i update what shoud i check before update so that i wont have any problems if i dont like it to get it back to oreo (i only know how to use odin would that be inaf or should i check binary code to match before update because i think that it can't downgrade from a higher binery to a smaller or something else)? Im questioning this because i found on gsm arena that a lot of users having all sort of isues after update in their countries! Thank you for your time all the best! :good:

Shouid I upgrade to EMUI 9?

So I just received the notification to update to EMUI 9.(new phone). But Should I upgrade?
I searched online and some people ,here in xda also , are saying that they experience battery drain. Is that true?
Is so should I not proceed with the update?
If I upgrade is there any official way to downgrade to the previous firmware?
Thanks in advance
In my opinion you shouldn't upgrade. The battery drain is real and you notice it quite clearly, it also uses more RAM. To me it wasn't worth it, I've gone back to Android Oreo yesterday.
You can update and revert back with HiSuite on PC, but you'll lose all your data once you restore the 8.0 ROM.
At first I was happy about the update of Android Pie. Unfortunately I have to say that I have regretted updating Android Oreo. Android Pie consumes a lot of battery and does not run as smoothly as before.
Currently I'm loading the 3rd Android Pie update (Version 9.1.0.215) and I'm curious if it works better this time. Android Q should be ready for us by the end of this month. If the Android Q does not bring any improvements regarding battery and performance, I will go back to version Android Oreo.
