I ended up resetting the device via fastboot. Bit annoying but its back up and running without too much drama. Apparently there is a special xposed recovery mode you can enable on boot but I couldn't get it to work.
any suggestions on how to make it boot with Magisk xposed for SDK 27?
I also got stuck on animation and had to wipe data in order to be able to boot up device.
something about this??

I assume it has to do with the device security checks. It is why the current TWRP does not work all that well (can boot into twrp but causes bootloop once you exit). Implementing some workarounds shouldn't be too hard. It will just take a little time.
You should not have to wipe data though. You can follow the directions for using unofficial twrp in this link and follow the Guide:
Download the TWRP image,
fastboot flash boot_b TWRP-3.2.3-jasmine-20180804.img
fastboot set_active b
then reboot and hold Volume Up to boot, you will enter TWRP
once in twrp
follow the How to Uninstall Magisk Module Using TWRP Recovery and remove xposed.
then re root the device using the Root Xiaomi Mi A2 Using Magisk article.
(basically overwrite the twrp image you put on so you don't get a bootloop from that)
if you havent already make sure to run the
fastboot set_active a
Kaboom! it should boot back up rooted with all your settings and tweaks in tote.
I have installed a few modules that put my A2 into a bootloop. I hate having to set it up every time
I have said it already, just deodex rom, xposed will working. You can use SuperR's Kitchen to accomplish.

Any ideas on how to get this to work? I would love to learn how this all works and also be able to install xposed.
It does this no matter which partition option I use. Although the adb shell does not work, I also tried allocating as much as 4 gb (4294967296 bytes) with no difference.

Sorry, I was preoccupied with some other stuff. I tried a custom rom which is deodexed. it runs pretty well. it is the arrow gsi rom. Unfortunately I tried deodexing for another 2-3 days to no avail. I am not sure what I was doing wrong. if anyone has knowledge of how to do this, please let me know. I would love to learn.

Ok, I must probably build myself a deodexed ROM.
Can someone tell me which ROM is best for this device?
Can I also take the stock ROM for it?

This mod enables the Mobile Hotspot feature on your Xperia Z3V without checking for tether entitlement. (In other words, you can use the mobile hotspot feature even if you are not paying for it on your Verizon account.)
Prerequisites:
1. You must have a rooted Xperia Z3V on build 23.0.E.1.44.
2. You must have the XZ Dual Recovery installed. http://nut.xperia-files.com/
3. Reboot into either TWRP or PHILZ and flash the attached file. View attachment TetherNativeTWRP.zip
4. Reboot

I updated to lollipop a few weeks ago. Just today I booted into recovery to flash this file and I am now in a boot loop. Probably gonna have to factory reset now. Do not recommend flashing.

The file in the OP. Took me hours to get my phone back... Guess I will have to revert to older firmware now, root, and then update to be lollipop rooted again. Dangit.
Go ahead and try the xposed module I linked next time around. Works for me, from the built in hotspot app as well as the power toggles homescreen widget by painless apps (which is what I regularly use)
please help... need mod for lollipop also.....
Just install xposed installer apk and download xtheter in the app........ Problem solved! Hit thanks

I have a different phone now, but I believe I had to reset the phone while pressing the buttons to get it into download mode.. not to be confused with recovery mode. When you are in download mode use the flash tool to flash original firmware. Let me know if you need more help.

Hi folks!
just wanted to share this little zip. I personally made it for S5 neo, but it will probably work on every device with Exynos7580 chip (assuming the param-partition is located in /dev/block/mmcblk0p9).
I adopted it from here.
so credits go out to @amtra.
If you flash the zip "as-is", your new bootlogo will look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(S5neo-logo I adapted from the box)
Of course you can use your own design, just replace the logo.jpg in the zip with your very own logo.jpg
-DISCLAMER-
Dont blame me, if sth does not work as expected after flashing this zip.
Under certain circumstances this zip could potentially brick your phone.
So don't be a lazy ass and back-up your phone before flashing
How to use:
- reboot to recovery ..
- flash the zip ..
- reboot to system ..
- done.
Wiping is not necessary, because it only has effect on the bootlogo partition.
Any questions? Then post here, and I will try my best to help out.
Enjoy

hm, never experienced this..
are you using latest official twrp recovery from here? -> https://dl.twrp.me/s5neolte/
perhaps try it with v-3.1.1-2.. that was at least the version which i used. unfortunately i'm not owning s5neo anymore.
have you disabled zip sig verification in twrp? do you have g903f or g903w?
Also you can attach your recovery log after flashing..
or try to resign the zip..

Works well on my Nougat S5 Neo G903F! Thx

Try to give root access on Magisk and check font selector permissions, sometime it is about Storage permission.
I am using Fontster (Exo) : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chromium.fontinstaller
I gave first Storage permission then ROOT.

Hi, I know that is forum for z5, but i think is the se step for z5c also?
Just wondering where i can get boot file for sazuran?
I would really appreciate your help.
Edit:
I need first make my kernel wit drm, ric off and etc.
And then extract boot file somehow from my device?
Edit2:
Can I use boot file from twrp back up?but Its named boot.emmc.win..
I read that it can be flashed as it is without renaming or coverting it to "boot.img"
Or maybe you know the more simple way to get boot.img

Get twrp image from the official twrp site.
Boot into fastboot.
Use adb command to flash the image to recovery partition.
Boot into twrp recovery.
Format data if you came from MIUI.
Wipe Dalvik, cache, data, system, vendor.
Flash pixel experience zip.
Flash magisk if you want, but NO need to flash Gapps.
Reboot.

Hello, thank you for this work, I notice that the handsfree speaker does not work. And it gives me a lot of lag in the animations. I installed it without formatting, is that why it doesn't work properly?

i just follow the instruction and flash the rom, but why my phone reboot into the fastboot again after click reboot? did i miss something?
Using the patched `boot.img`, tried multiple times but still unable to install magisk.
In the app, button for modules and su is disabled and it seems that it has no get the root premission
I have tried flash in the stock ROM using the offical tool MiFlash, the issue persists.
Commands ran:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

It seems that Android 13 has removed ramdisk from boot.img.
This happens on devices with Android 13 "in factory".
Here is a tutorial of installing magisk on these devices.
Note: you don't need to "repair" boot.img now.
安卓13刷面具(修补init_boot.img)
magiskcn.com
My device is K60 Pro, with MIUI 14.0.17 Stable.
Here is my successful screenshot.
Hope that link and my reply can help you.
Yeah magisk team replied me on github, it was successfully installed, thank you anyway
could you post an english guide here please? thanks
Sure thing!
As we know, rooting the device requires you to dump the `payload.bin` file and get the `boot.img` file
As android 13 no longer include their ramdisk in the `boot.img`, instead, we need to get the `init_boot.img` file
and patch it in the magisk app
After getting the patched file, enter fastboot and run:
`fastboot flash init_boot <init_boot_patched.img>`
Then you are all set! Enjoy!

If you mean this
As we know, rooting the device requires you to dump the `payload.bin` file and get the `boot.img` file
the `init_boot.img` file
boot.img and init boot.img are not the same name so I didnt think thats what you meant. The only reason now Im thinking that is because theres nothing else to the comment. I have made custom roms and I know typing can be boring but try to make an effort. None of us know this crap like we want to pretend we do.

As if it were hard to learn. For example, you could have at least find instruction in 3rd post of this thread, which were posted by hyhcrh.
Yeah, it's in chinese, but if hyhcrh managed to figure everything out, why couldn't you, the one with expirience to build custom roms?
And afterall, you won't even need this instruction, when you learn about necessity to patch init_boot.img, and this thing was already mentioned.
All our problems are in our heads.

Do you think TWRP will be made? Usually Xiaomi releases sources codes.
Do you think custom Roms will be happening with this phone? I have a poco f3 with tons of roms. SO I was thinking redmi samething.
I was getting twrp for my poco f3 and I ran across someone who has twrp for redmi k60 pro champion edition. I would assume its the same except for better specs but I could be wrong. I don't own the phone I wanted one if there was roms and twrp but it looks dead.This guy makes twrp for tons of devices and maybe you can use it.Click twrp, then click A13, then click 7.2 and go through the options and you should see it. The site takes forever to load.
