Hello. After almost 2 years of usage,it's time for a new battery.Reading some feedbacks from alliexpress etc..They say that not genuine batteries lack off protection circuit and temperature sensor. Is this true??Can anyone suggest me a link with genuine battery from Xiaomi to buy one?Or any suggestion of an OEM battery but with circuit protection and temp. sensor included? Thanks.
today I replaced my battery with a new "genuine" and my temperature sensor is stuck at 25° any idea?
I know it may seem obvious, BUT have you correctly double checked the connections of all the cables like in this video? https://youtu.be/35spo-0ja38 I know it's the Redmi 4 but that shouldn't actually change anything in the structure apart from the camera LED position.

hi all
before 2 days i buy this phone and im very happy for this.
But today i change the dark wallpaper and i change the FlexTHEME. Then i see some stranger. The screen has ghosting sometimes like this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbaBjLMXPH4
This is normally or not?
if normally from oled curved technology then ok.
If not i have 4 days to go it back to change with another.
Dumm.. And i pay from screen protector 10 euros.
Please HELP
I want some awnsers.
Thanks.
Yes, the screen has some ghosting, it's a normal occurrence for this device. The POLED screen is a very immature technology, and the ghosting that you see is inherent to the display. So is the graininess that shows up on certain solid colors(especially grey).
It may bother you, I thought it would be a deal breaker for me but after spending a week with the phone I fell in love with it. Being only 720p is what I struggle with the most.

What do you mean "right the experience".. there's nothing you can do about the ghosting. Turning the brightness up helps, but it's something you're going to have to live with should you decide to keep the phone.
If this is normall for oled technology then ok.
But some users doesn't have this problem and i want to be sure before go back the phone. This phone is fast from faster very smooth and i love it.

What a pity, if you don't like the appearance and impression of the numbers on the lock screen. My LG flex showed the same during the first days, but meanwhile the images are amazing, the resolution and contrasts better than them of earlier smartphones.
I am very satisfied and proud to have bought my LG G Flex, it is indeed one of then latest and best among the competitors.
Hi All,
I've just bought a 256GB Mix. loving it but i've noticed a distracting flickering when the screen is at higher brightness settings. It's hard to describe almost like random dips occur in the brightness.
Obviously auto brightness is off and i've disabled as much battery saving things as i can find.
It persists through different ROMS, tried various MIUI roms, RR, and AICP.
Do i have a dud? Any Firmware updates i can try?
Are you on the newest firmware I believe its 7.12.21

Nope, I never did find a solution. I just have the brightness around 90%, it doesn't seem to do it around that. It's plenty bright at that so I'm happy. Considered sending it for RMA but couldn't be bothered with it being a Chinese seller, just thought it would be too stressful..
I'm considering upgrading to a Mix 2s soon anyway..
I have a similar problem on Xiaomi 4A, it looks like this video (iphone right): Youtu.be/Q6CANkiPkUM
Do you have a similar flicker?
Replacement screen for what 80 bucks
Perhaps the problem is not in the screen, but in the power supply pwm - inductor, capacitor
Hello I've redmi note 5 pro i also have same issue past few months but i didn't get any solution. when my phone brightness will high then screen flickering too fast and this issue is too much trouble. So please any one have any solution please let me know.
Is there anyway to enable double tap to wake ?
Nope, touch sensor below the lcd panel has to support it on a hardware level. But then again, why? Double tap to wake is among the most overhyped functions drains battery and wakes your phone up in yer pocket, you have the power button and or fingerprint reader to tap and don't even have to tap two times . On the other hand I'd trade the ir blaster to an nfc, ir blaster makes the phone look/sound a bit childish imho.
I don't understand why xiaomi don't give us this extremely simple feature....I use it so much, so waiting for custom kernels

Are you sure? on Mi 6X (same hardware) DT2W is possible on stock firmware, and also on Mi A1 on stock kernel is not possible but it is on custom kernel.
BTW, I hope would be possible in the future.

What are you trying to say? I said it depends a lot on the hardware if its power hungry or not and that on LC based displays it usually is more power hungry than on AMOLEDs for example.
It doesn't depend on whether its LCD or AMOLED because the screen remains off in both cases. And no, it doesn't drain power(very minuscule, almost negligible drain). I have used it on almost all my phones and I love it, strange why Xiaomi wouldn't provide such basic functionality.

Screen can't be off as it waits for your touch. As I said it depends a lot on the used technology, see here https://www.reddit.com/r/essential/comments/8we29y/comment/e1v0tsa

What you mean by screen is the touch panel, and yes that has to be active for d2tw, but screen and touch panel are different layers. So screen remains turned off which saves you from the battery drain and touch panel consumes very less power in terms of how we use our phones.

Just beacause you don't know how to appreciate it's usefulness doesn't mean it's useless. And how is ir blaster childish? Never seen a tv remote control? Fan remote control? Aircon remote control? Would love to see both double tap to wake and nfc on the phone.
Chillax dood, long life is rare, the tv and ac should have their own remote imho. It's not a phone's job to control those. If you check the models that usually include the ir blaster you'll see the childish part. And when you're on a budget (as a phone manufacturer) nfc should have priority over the ir blaster. But yeah that's just me.
Anyway this is a no go phone. Poor battery life, no nfc. nokia 7 plus seems to be better.

Are the they the exact same thing? No right? So you are paying more for things like a bigger battery, nfc. They are both android one phones and are definitely comparable.
I mean Xaiomi do not offer the feature on battery life concerns, even cheap ugly phones as Asus zenfone 2 has this feature, which besides being power hungry because phones in pocket tends to wake up spontaneously with body movement, using the fingerprint sensor for this is more clever, enforcing it is a wise decision from Xiaomi

We all know that isn't true. Please stop making things up.
We'll need a kernel mod to make it work. I love this feature.. hopefully an experienced dev would help us out in the future.

It's not a big hit on battery life. Its similar to the always-listening feature used by google where you say "ok google" to turn the device on. It doesn't need the entire chip to be running. I don't know the exact hardware details. Pocket wake-ups are blocked by the proximity sensor.
anyone experiences this stellar battery estimates?

Share screenshots of app launch (are all apps set to automatic or did you turn them all off) and also of digital time management and what apps do you use and how much.. That is insane battery life, and I doubt it has something to do that you have 8gb version, the battery should be same on both 6gb and 8gb version..

Can anyone let me know if their devices seem to drain more while on 4G - my idle 4G drain is not great, when I use it though it's better, when sitting idle with 4G on it seems to drain - I do have things on etc but seems excessive to me.

My record so far is 30 Hour at 30 % before recharging. I start at 7am and recharge 30 hours later.
Bluetooth, Location and mobile data all turned on at all times + wifi.
Moderate usage include web surfing, youtube (max volume), music and etc.
Recalling back my experience with iphone 7 plus, p30 pro is beast in battery department. Hahaha...

There's no burn in. While earlier OLED models had some issues regarding burn in, now the majority of flagships and even midrange devices have OLED panels and no burn in occurs.
There isn't too much protection needed to be fair. Even after years of usage you will not encounter any burn in. You mostly see burn in on panels that display the same thing for a very long time, meaning the pixels don't shut down or display other colors (e.g. TVs that run the same channel for a very long time).
There is protection on the Always on display. You'll notice the clock and notifications switch from one place to another every few minutes to avoid displaying the same pixels.
Burn in should be the least of your worries.

Don't worry about burnin unless you do something silly like increasing the display sleep time to half an hour or always keeping it in an unlock state. Use dark mode, 2 min timeout max, will be fine.
For every phone I've owned with an LCD/OLED display, I've experienced none. Yet when I use other people's phones of the same model, they have burn-in.
[Edit]
The only difference between me and others is that I always dim the screen. Never use on high brightness, unless in the sun.
