Got a galaxy note with baseband version N7000XXKK5 and kernel version of 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKK5-CL726566. I'm totally new with flashing ROM such as this on android and I'm just wondering if somebody could provide with the instructions and tools to get me started specifically for Rocket ROM?
I am a returning xda user from the good old times of WinMo on htc touch and htc diamond

Rocket Rom installation is not different from any other Custom Rom one.
First thing you have to do is, sorry for this....., STUDING.
Note is a really expensive phone so, before modding it, take some time to understand what you are doing (I followed Note's forum for 1 month before rooting mine), becaouse with modding you can:
• lose your warranty
• brick(=destroy) your NOTE!! (this can 99% happen if you don't know what are you doing...).
Ok now let's start with real advice:
1) Start from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325369&highlight=efs (ORIGINAL EFS folder is ESSENTIAL for Samsung warranty)
2) Root your Note http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 instruction on the second POST
3) Go to Rocket Rom page and follow instruction http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380284 (Dev of the Rocket Rom eybee1970 stopped updating this fantastic Rom so , by now, don’t expect further update)
My last advice is READ READ READ and SEARCH in XDA forum, 99% of question you can imagine has just been asked.
XDA is a really great place to understand, but you have to put some effort into

Hello guys, GREETINGS..
I was a newbie in android a few months back until I found Cursed4Eva forums/vids by ASH & this website..
Thanks to above I have pretty much understood the android concept of root/unroot, roms, flash, kernals, etc..
Now with the help of - (youtube.com/watch?v=rYTnlt1xt4M) I wish to root my Note1.
1. If I just root for now with Link 1 in Downloads section in above video page & say probably in future I wish to install CWM, which is like Link 2 in Downloads section in above video page, then how should I do it ?? Means I'm asking this because the Link1 describes as Only ROOT & Link2 describes ROOT+CWM, I mean whats the procedure to install CWM after ROOT you know ??
2. Is there a simpler way to Unroot, I mean like the same process of root which has minimal downloads, no pc required, etc. This I'm asking wherein I'm just gonna root my device & not install CWM (currently).. I mean I dont wanna download the whole new official rom from samfirmware like - (cursed4eva.com/how-to-unroot-the-galaxy-note)
3. Actually Whats the procedure to unroot & install latest stock firmware coming from Root+CWM & Custom ROM installed ??
4. And finally to receive OTA update on rooted devices do you think this video (youtube.com/watchfeature=player_embedded&v=ky5miA8ilr0) should also work ?? Although I still believe this looks reliable (cursed4eva.com/update-galaxy)
Please resolve my queries which shall enable me to unleash the power of android !!

If you want help here you shouldn't ask for explanations of other forums or obscure youtube videos.
In XDA you'll find everything you need and can be sure that many members verified and used the tutorials here.
What do you want? Root or No-Root, that's the question.
No-Root: Install a Stock JB Rom with PC Odin (yes you have to download it)
Root1: Install a Stock JB Rom with PC Odin (same comment as above) and root it with Phil's kernel (thread in Original Android development forum).
Root2: Install one of the Custom Roms and follow the installation instructions in the related thread of your chosen Rom.
I'd reply to Ash in the comment section below video....Ash is pretty good at getting back to you with answers or he usually also mentions his email address at the end of the video...

hello, i bough a lenovo k3 note a while ago and it arrived today.
it crashes every 10min~ for no reason + its full of adds.
i know im asking for a lot but can anyone guide me with rooting the device and installing a non ****ty rom on it( i tried following guides on the forum but some links dont work and i have no idea which versions of programs can i mix)

I'm guessing you have the Chinese ROM. There is an ROW (Indian) ROM available on needrom.com with OTA capabillity. You dont have to root but have to flash with SPFlashtool.
Here is the ROM and installation instructions:

That DA DL Checksum-thingy in the instructions is super important. If you forget that, you WILL end up with a bricked device.

It says fingerprint will be permanently disabled after unlocking BL. That is not acceptable.

Second, matters needing attention (important !!!)
[BL unlock must meet the following conditions]
1. The number of unlocked users has not reached the upper limit of the quota (the limit is 1000 units / month / model);
2. Must be realme X2, realme X2 Pro, realme X2 Pro master version purchased through regular channels in mainland China
[BL unlocking instructions]
1. Unlockable effects on the phone may occur after unlocking;
2. The third-party firmware may cause some functions of the mobile phone to fail to operate normally, such as the unavailability of camera functions, and may cause damage to the device;
3. It may cause the leakage of private personal information on the mobile phone;
4. After unlocking, the system upgrade will be affected, and users cannot receive subsequent updated versions of the system OS;
5. After unlocking, the phone status is equivalent to restoring the factory settings, and all user personal data will be emptied. It is recommended to back up the data in advance;
6. After unlocking, for security reasons to prevent user privacy leakage, the independently encrypted fingerprint chip will be disabled, and users cannot use the fingerprint unlock function;

So realme has no solution for the fingerprinter issue.
But why?
You cant sell a device with this error in my opinion.

the realm x2 European the tool does not work, yet the twrp is indicated as compatible. Has anyone really managed to install it on 1993 or is it a guess?
