Hello guys i know this is threath about Mi A2 but i cannot decide and maybe someone can help?. I am on Mi A2 about year now. I pretty happy with it. Camera is awesome with gcam, Fast, great battery but i wanna upgrade.
And i am chosing beetween Mi 9 SE, Mi 9 Lite, Mi A3, Note 8 Pro. On Note i am not sure about MediaTek because MediaTek cannot use gcam but maybe basic camera is great i am not sure.
I am looking for great camera in that price range, i dont gaming much on phone, just camera and social networks so lot of multitasking.
What you choose from those or maybe another Xiaomi device?
Thanks for any advice

I would go with Mi 9 SE
MI 9T, new fast 730sd, 6GB RAM, super amoled, big batery.
Well Mi 9T Is awesome but in my country is out of my budget.
In this case go to Mi 9 Lite, 4030mah battery, super amoled, 3.5mm jack/sd card.
But Mi9 lite it's just ~ 10% faster than A2.
Your choice, my advice it's better to wait some time.
Sent from my Mi A2 using Tapatalk
Basic camera isn't great, that's why you upgraded to gcam on the a2 also.
All of the models mentioned by you have miui but the a3. So prepare for bloat and jibber, unless you're used to miui.
The only one to one equivalent is the a3 (mostly os wise) but careful with that, despite the amoled it's only 720p and the pixels are so big they scratch your nose.
Go pixel 3a imho if you want stock android of course. Price/quality ratio is great and you'll have your gcam (natively).
If not, whichever floats your boat.
Hi, i have a mi8 and looking foward to update to mi10t pro or mi 11, which phone do you guys recomend?, i've seen from myself that mi 11 has some heating issues and some issues regarding software and hardware ( the camera and the apps sometines closes ), but that should get fixed by a update no ?
What phone should i get?
Mi 11 for sure. Overheating and majority of bugs fixed in 12.5, or so ive heard. For me Amoled > IPS, but its personal preference
I would recommend a Mi 10. The Mi 11 has an awfull battery life. It does heat very easily, whatever you are doing.

I had a Poco F2 Pro before, i had around 8h of SOT, with Mi 11, set to 60Hz FHD+ i only get 5h30. I really regret to buy this Mi 11, many bugs, this is my last Xiaomi device.

The system not being optimized doesn't help that much, myself talking from experience, i had mui on mi 8 last version, and had a terrible battery SOT, i changed to EvoX or even One Rom from TechRev and the battery improved by a lot, sometimes its just the system that is **** :v, i've been saying oppo x3 pro, interesting phone

I've seen those news myself, not sure if it's true or not, but in recent benchmarks or comparissions on youtube, i've seen that this month (april) the mi 11 prefers a bit better than in its launch
The more votes the better.
I'm making a simple poll to see if there are of people interested in having a Custom Rom like Lineage OS, Pixel Experience, Havoc, Arrow, Evolution, and others.
I'm don't make ROMs but I'm posting this to see if people would be interested in having one in order for other people invest their time in making some Roms for these devices.
You don't need to comment, just a simple vote would be appreciated.
Base on my experience with Xiaomi Mi Note 10, and its 108MP camera + custom ROM:
- image quality never was as good as stock firmware, you will be using other camera app, but no matter what settings you will set up, there was no way to get image quality as good as on stock MIUI ROM. It has less noise on stock ROM, better low light photos on stock ROM, manual mode etc.
Maybe this will change in the future, but I got MI 11 Ultra because of its new top image sensor to shot nice pictures specially in low light condition.
And for person who got this phone specially to takes amazing photos, moving to custom ROM will be resulting in degrading picture quality.
I love custom ROMs, it's have less bloatware, better optimization, but biggest dealbreaker for me is image quality :/
Of course, if you love custom ROMs and don't care about image quality, go ahead.
If stable custom ROM will be build in 1 year from now, do you think you still will have MI11 Ultra ?
Personally speaking yes, I don't change phone every year, actually my previous phone was a One plus 3 updated year after year with custom ROMs up to Android 10. Finally after 5 years I purchased this Mi 11 Ultra which I plan to keep at least for 4/5 years depending on how long it will last of course and custom support

There is always the option to use Gcam as an alternative. And i know some modders are working hard on it like Wichaya and Greatness.
I am actually interested in MIUImix ROM, I read that is available already on Mi 11, hopefully it will soon for Mi 11 Ultra as well

These are really good reasons to keep MIUI. I'm not exactly an expert, but weren't there exports of MIUI-Cam for custom roms before? If yes, you could have best of both worlds, right?

Its almost the same as xiaomi.eu rom but its prerooted. Even instructions to flash are the same.
How is in terms of performance? Comparable to stock? Xiaomi EU is very bad in terms of performance

I was using Cgam in custom ROM, but finds settings for its camera sensors was not always as you expect or hard to find working one. Or app was crashing when switching lenses etc. So it was not reliable at the time of testing.

Chinese firmware was more smooth and felt better, but xiami.eu is also underclocked so no wonder about that. But that doesn't mean it's bad lol.
I don't think given the frequencies for a Snapdragon 888 it makes too much of a difference in terms of apps opening (WhatsApp? Seriously?).Also if it is underclocked it must be underlined by developers as a feature actually, because it is not nice to have an underclocked cpu without knowing (neither I want it nor I can take "better battery optimized" as a feature,as it is achieved with a trick). So in the end it is bad indeed,of course is my opinion
From your experience and only, pure miui, no custom roms, no unlocked bootloaders or anything
Miui is being rumored and seen as a bad os.
And 11t pro has nice specs but os draws me back
What is your experience? Pros? Cons?

Xiaomi 11T pro, yes
Nope
11t pro yes you wrote 11t.
Two different phones.
11t pro will be a very good smartphone when battery and soc 888 optimization has been done.
A lot of problems with the OS , like someone so stupid did it .
Avoid it at all costs and go to samsung or realme?

For me , Realme , I have Realme 5 pro before my 11t pro
Believe me it was better experience for me .
Some of the things that I don't like :
...The speaker sound is not strong
....The sensor is behaving stupid , when ....playing WhatsApp record , or fb massenger record , and during the calls the screen go totally crazy
..... The picture in picture in Google maps is not stable
...... The hidden apps are appearing in the recently used apps , plus the way of reaching this apps is not very smart ....
The only one thing that really different for me , it the fast charger , full within 10 minutes , and the battery life is good .
Hello guys,
i am probably getting a new phone soon, which is the redmi note 10S. The thing is, that i am a custom rom fan, which means that i will install PixelExpierence on it. I have a few questions:
1. How long does the battery last?
2. Is the phone overheating when idle/playing games.
3. How are framerates?
4. Does the phone have a A or A/B Slot?
5. Is system updates using a lot of mobile data in the background (On the A32 i have, i had to root the phone to edit the hosts file so that the system updates app doesnt take up 3GB in a week *also using pixelexpierence here* )
6. Is the camera quality better than on the stock rom?
7. Does the lock/unlocked icon overlap the text underneath on the lock screen (visible when charging)
8. Does the fingerprint sensor work?
Thx in advance
1.The battery is around 2 to 3 days with normal use and drop to 1 day if you play games.
It recharge really fast tho
2.When playing games sometimes yea but im never going above 45 degrees
3.Depends on what games.
4. idk didnt checked
5. I never saw any mobile data suage for that
6. stock quality is 64mp
7. good question
8. Its on the power button, its pretty sensible however it gonna work well if you hands are a bit wet
4. Does the phone have a A or A/B Slot?
A/B slots and Can Switch between 'em with TWRP.
6. Is the camera quality better than on the stock rom?
Not in m'y understanding, and camera app IS lacking params.
8. Does the fingerprint sensor work?
Yep
Extra: does fast charge works actually on PE rom, no.

Thanks bro, you saved me. I cannot buy a device that has buggy or low development, and that info is crucial to many. It seems that Mediatek won't release source code to the mass public.
One question, if you have time to answer: Is development on Note 10 as good as it is on Note 10 Pro?

The 10s seem to have significantly better battery.
GSIs are probably the future.
@Surpalsingh @tutibreaker
You don't agree that we have a lot more devices being made today than 5-10 years ago? Obviously only very few have custom ROM development. The answer to cover all? GSI.
