What's working :-
Code:
- Camera
- Ril
- Sound
What's not working:
Code:
- This is an Alpha, lot of untested functionalities
- Encryption
Installation instructions :-
-You need latest TWRP-3.2.1-0 for flashing AOSP ROM'S Found Here : TWRP THREAD
-Get ROM (and GApps) and put it in your phones sdcard.
-Boot into recovery mode.
-Take a backup of your existing partitions ! Specially EFS/CPEFS !
-Do a factory reset. If you are coming from previous version of LOS itself then this step is optional.
-Flash ROM (then flash GApps).
-Reboot. First boot will take time.

Great work! Thank you. I thought the dev who made the Lineage OS Rom not maintains it anymore. So I've always wanted for the latest release.
Can you also make Resurrection Remix ROM? I'm a big fan of it
Previous LOS Roms for my J530F have had issues with SIM 2.
When calling or receiving a call from SIM 2, you could only hear the other for like 3 seconds then there is not sound, when you switch to loud speaker, you hear again in the few seconds then no sound again, back and forth it was.
I have downloaded the ROM.
Am about to install it, and this is what I'll be testing.
If all is well, I think am going to keep it.
I love LOS, so fingers crossed.

Wow! It didn't take long to reboot at all after flashing the ROM and the gapps. Under 3 minutes. Took like 2 minutes.

Unfortunately for the ROM doesn't read both SIM lines
SIM 1 and 2.
Couldn't even setup my Google account, I use mobile data for that, don't have WiFi.

Am back to my previous ROM
Does one restores the EFS partition after flashing the LOS ROM?
Did some searches, got that it's responsible for having your phone connect to Networks.
Thanks for new ROM, working in sm-j530g?

Sadly I do not own a dual sim device to test, and the sim card part was the most difficult to get working. Right know we use an hackish way to enable it, maybe it is the issue. Are you asked for both pin codes or only one ?
If you are rooted, please try to manually start the 2nd ril daemon. Also please provide the return of
Code:
getprop | grep -i ril
Do you wiped the device before ? (system & factory reset)
@kegang : no, Idea was to first reproduce the other Lineage build, then switch to omni (it is the rom I like to work on) but, right now, only 9.0 is supported for omni.
Thanks all for feedback
It's awesome that you put work into an older device. Thank you. Is it possible to buy you a beer /paypal/etc? I'd love to. I cannot test the alpha as my phone is my working device, but as soon as it's getting close to stable, I'll test it out. Thanks!

Thanks for your proposition but I do not want to. Just doing this with @steadfasterX for fun, without any guarantee.
But if you know someone with a unused dual sim device, please let me know
Thanks again

None of the SIM cards is pin protected.
Not asked.
I just flashed it today. I'm being asked for PIN, but I'm unable to call anyone and I do not see IMEI.
@nailyk Lineage os 16 would be great for Samsung j530!
I can't use any SIM.l card.
It can read any SIM card.
What can I do?

Please provide log. I can do nothing with this kind of reports (I do not own a dual device).
Code:
adb reboot
adb wait-for-device
adb shell dmesg > dmesg.log
adb logcat main,radio -d > logcat.log
Does the device ask for pin ?

Does anyone here know of a tool to determine why a phone doesn't go into deep sleep? The reason I'm asking this is that I installed this ROM and the phone doesn't go into deep sleep that much. I just want to eliminate any possible app as being the culprit for the problem.
Also when I try to use CPU-Z to look at the information about the phone, the phone reboots... every time. Can anyone help me identify WHY that happens?

To run deep sleep put these lines at the build.prop:
pm.sleep_mode=1
ro.ril.power_collapse=1
Don't forget to adjust then the build.prop permission before restarting.
EDIT: Nevermind! Turns out that using EXT4 for your external SD card isn't a smart move! Crisis averted. ROM works like a charm!
Now get that rearcam working and I'll sing your praises from Amsterdam to Zürich, @jackeagle!

Ka81, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't ask for updates with a public message! If you absolutely NEED to know, then send a private message to Jackeagle!
I know we've been waiting for a while for a stable, fully functional ROM for our S5 Mini, but spamming the board asking for an update gets people like me hopeful that there is an update from jackeagle and we then have to live with the disappointment that it is NOT.

Fixing Camera is not easy task and blame Samsung for it for their incomplete sources .. You wanna know status of fixing ask @kaiodduarte everyday day and night I m giving test builds to him in order of trying fixing Camera .. Its not a easy task has Samsung never released Sensor sources in their any kernel source So please do not ask same question again and again i know all need camera but there is no other way then waiting .. you are on user side hence your happy but when you see developer side work it is lot lot lot tough .. just wait and be happy that atleast there is some development for this device now when comparing past were all were making threads asking for any developer to develop cm ..

hey buddy ur on fire yesterday dirty unicorns, today aosp thank you for the work ur putting in.so, i tried this on my hydrogen (3/32),everything runs fine, but on opening cellular networks under "wireless&networks" im gettin a fc,im attaching the logcat
p.s:i clean installed the rom
tested on helium, wifi and sim are ok, when trying to set up cellular networks, it gets fc.
In settings -> About phone, recognized as hydrogen, not helium.
All the issues will be fixed soon
Good work ! How stable is this for daily use ??
Sent from my MI MAX using Tapatalk
On helium, I can't set up function for buttons, and menu default is recent list.
when I try to run:
settings put global captive_portal_detection enabled 0
It prompts:
tmp-mksh: /system/bin/settings: /bin/sh: No such file or directory
Tested on helium, clean install
-Cellular networks works, 0 FC
-In function buttons: Home button changes works, Menu button changes dont works
seems stable for daily use, more feedback later
Found 1 little bug in my helium
Just 1 core is working
It makes tapatalk FC and the System is laggy

I've tried all last Roms in this forum and all of them are laggy and buggy
If you want a stable and smooth ROM, use RR ported for hydrogen and helium. Is the best ROM so far for helium
For the other side, the answers of the developers seem to me very superb, so I think it is best to let them do their job and wait for them to complete some of the roms they are taking out

Guys, lets keep this really good situation whit source ROMs that are poping out of of our new devs sleeves under control. Comments like: its buggy, it lags, volte doesn't work, cpu cores offline, antutu sucks, microlags and etc. whit out proper logcat is useless most of the time, or commenting on bugs that has been reported multiple times already is useless. On worst case scenario whit those comments we could just irritate and piss off devs, which in return will drop support and we don't want that do we? So restrain yourself from posting stuff that has been posted and keep an eye on interest threads and read build changelogs frequently so that you are aware what is going on. Use common sense. Test stuff in and out and report bugs properly, if you dont know how, Google it or use xda forums which are full of those kind of info. Iv seen it often what inappropriate behavior can led to - devs leaving and its gonna be our lose not theirs. Just my honest 2 cents worth. Take it as you like ??
While I agree that bug reports should be accompanied by logs and created mostly on clean installs it is still useful for devs to know that problem such and such is widespread and not sporadic (caused by some app or xposed plugin).
If the developer is interested in proper bug reports he can at least state that in OP and at best provide a format for such reports that he is interested in - I have seen such schemes and they are useful for ordinary users. Copy-paste works well in such cases. Not many users visiting here even knows what logs can help with or how to get them, they only root, install twrp, flash rom and hope for the best, all of that following step by step guides.
What I'm against is nagging devs to fix problems without providing any help (asking how to help).
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*
* Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
* cause of male impotence.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Yes, it is!
But it is still in a very early WIP stage and not usable for everyday use.
A couple of functions are still broken (most importantly file access to internal storage), but the OS with telefony on SIM1 and several other things are working already.
@Thargorsson is currently busy with important real-life stuff, but I hope he will be able to fix things after he is done (in about a month or so...). He has done an excellent job for the S3 Neo.
So let's keep our fingers crossed!
Hi, Just for precision, if you have TWRP 3.0.0 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...pment/recovery-qualcomm-twrp-2-8-7-0-t3245256) don't wipe (cache/dalvik) after the installation but go wipe dalvik in the "wipe" menu. And you can mount /system (quote) and then "Remove /system/lib/hw/keystore.msm8226.so" in "Advanced" -> "File Manager" -> "/system" -> "lib" -> "hw" and then delete "keystore.msm8226.so".
(Sorry for my bad english ^-^).
finally uploaded all the repo to github, also updated the link in OP.
I hope ill get time soon to start fixing everything.
If any dev wants to join development for this rom take the sources from here:

Gapps keep screen black after boot
@Thargorsson
current image (lineage_kmini3g-ota-e7c42a48b5.zip) does not work in combination with Gapps pico (open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20180414.zip).
Screen stays black after boot, but when shutting down the setup screen is shown for a short time.
SuperSU works (SuperSU-v2.78-201609011115.zip.md5)
When you prefer Magisk (Magisk-v16.0.zip) it works
Thank you for your great work so far. :good:
Hi! It is visible, that you work hard
nice rom, my congradulations
but unfortunately it has some bugs..
gapps can not be installed because of bootloop; sd card haven't detected, so some apps (camera, gallery, file manager, apk installation manager) are falt down, contacts are not available to move them from sim card to the telephone
so, good luck, I believe in you

You could ask me, but I must say that I'm totally busy till June 22 as I have my final school exams till then.
But if any other developer is willing to compile stuff for you I uploaded the source code for the current build so he could use that and improve stuff.
Good !
Stability of Rom is very good, but there are still many bugs. as in call, camera, physical buttons, SIM card 2
Congratulations for the initiative!
I decided to make a new build next week...
Camera shouldn't be a problem and physical keys also not (was it that big related to the firmware?).
The ril is the thing what makes me a bit of trouble, as I'm not a good RIL dev. Even on my (almost stable) oreo rom for the S3neo RIL is the only thing left.... but I'm sure we'll find a solution:good:
Hey Thargorsson. Good to see you back in action. I hope your final exams went well. Looking forward to the new build. I'd be happy to help if any testing is needed.

Yes, as I said its buggy, but I decided to release it as RIL works, but I'm still working on it.
Hi,
Thanks a lot for that work, I've been looking for a ROM for this grand prime variant for months!
I tested it and found a major bug: when trying to make a call, the network signal is instantly lost so the call is impossible. There is an error message when trying to find the signal again, and the only way to get it back is to reboot the phone.
Hope this helps.

Unfortunatly this doesn't help me at all. On my phone, RIL works fine, lte, call & sms. You should put a "logcat" & "logcat -b radio" of when it happens.
Unexpected.
After downloading the required Firmware G531FXXU1APG2 ( Poland) and getting ready to flash with Odin, the flash process failed and a message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" came upon the screen. Then after few minutes it won't turn on after pressing the buttons. What does it mean?
Help....

I updated the ROM, RIL bug should be fixed.
Offline charging fixed.
Also it should boot really faster.

Flash official twrp via ODIN. Reboot to recovery and install this ROM.
Does it really work properly? Is it suitable for use? I use this rom. " https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-grand-prime/SM-G531F/TUR/download/G531FXXU1APK2/111396/ " Can I install directly? thanks.

No you can't, you need a firmware with version G531FXXU1APG2. I uploaded my stock firmware here: G531FXXU1APG2_G531FOXX1APG2_G531FXXU1APG2_HOME.tar.md5
Its usable, RIL, WiFi, Bluetooth, OTG, adb, mtp, offline charging work. Camera works if you start the CameraApp a lot of times. It should not randomly crash but you can have graphic bugs when watching video cause I'm working on libstagefright (video/audio codecs).
Also I'm releasing new versions often fixing some bugs here and there.
Its up to you if you want to try it or not .

I'm going to test this ROM on J5 Duos (2017). which has dual sim. does at least primary SIM work? I see here notices from other users who has a problem with it. As this is my mother-in-law phone, I'd like to make sure she'll be able to make a phonecalls (I'm using Galaxy S line, personally)
