It forgot the password.
Hello all, not to long ago i flashed SHRP via TWRP as it instructed (on my J5 Pro) opened it up, check it all worked until i changed the password.. i have changed the password to Manly.09 (i don't use this password for anything els) rebooted to recovery to test it, it worked until this evening when i wanted to return to TWRP and it isnt letting me in saying that the entered password(s) are incorrect.. after a quick panic and sevral possible passwords latter i tried to use odin to flash TWRP and it isn't mounting, i tried odin 13.1.3 (which i used to flash the phone originally) and a patched version from xda of the same version but no luck. also should mention i grabbed the android drivers off of samsung developers before posting this to no avail. Please O, please help me hence i am stuffed for a phone otherwise, thank you!

Hi,you should try formatting data within twrp.If that doesnt work install stock rom then install twrp then format data.If that doesnt work dont panic, backup your efs and cpefs partitions then extract the .pit file from your CSC archive and load it into twrp alongside the normal 4 stock rom files. Then go to options and select the following:
-Auto Reboot
-F. Reset Time
-Re-Partition
-Nand Erase All
Warning!! You should only do this if the other methods doesnt work.
If this didnt work too,you can panic now.

Was very lame, i tried the old one and every single combination i could conceive, eventually got into download mode and flashed TWRP. i do not recommend this recovery.
Update to 2.0?
Is this abandoned? Are there any plans to update to 2.0? Should I build it myself or wait for this "OFFICIAL" build

Good Question

Hey folks,
after hours of reading around I have almost no idea left how to update my CM13 (13.0-20151213_nightly-titan) currently installed to a newer version. I tried with TWRP 2.8.6.0 and even 2.8.7.0, but it's all the same: I choose the zip file to install, the filesystem is detected correctly - but the installation just won't continue (usually the detection is followed by "patching the system unconditionally"). TWRP doesn't freeze, but just nothing happens . When I brake up after some time (usually an installation is done very quickly) with pressing the power button, my phone boots in the old version normally.
I tried another TWRP, wiped cache and dalvik, fixed permissions, set root in phone options, tried several CM13 builds... But I'm afraid of wiping data and system as it's a lot of work to get everything right again afterwards :crying:. Do you have any idea why TWRP doesn't want to install the new build?
Thanks a lot!
First always take a nandroid backup before you make any changes.
Even thought TWRP 2.8.7.0 is released, For Moto G 2014(titan)
only 2.8.6.0 is official https://dl.twrp.me/titan/
Try doing a clean installation(Wipe the data & System). That should do the trick.
just for the record the recovery is stopping you from installing a new build
Seems to be an issue with TWRP. You could give a try using CWM PhilZ Touch recovery. I have flashed using this recovery numerous times without any problem.
Thank you two for your replies !
Maddy, I know that 2.8.7.0 is unofficial for titan, but nevertheless it's working (for others). I want to avoid a complete reset, but in the end this could be a solution. But as I reflashed twrp (and tried another version also) I'm really wondering why twrp could be the problem ...
pank, I will take a look on CWM PhilZ, but until now I was really happy with twrp (and of course with its backup function). I hope it's possible to flash CWM using twrp and vice versa .
Unfortunately CWM PhilZ Touch Recovery shows the same behaviour than twrp - installation of new zip file just doesn't work (without any error) . If someone has an idea (except of a full wipe) please give me input !
Update the bootloader to the latest version. Had a similar problem a few months back that resulted in lots of hair tearing This solved it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/bootloader-update-t3060007
Great hint - just checked your link already this morning and everything seemed to make sense... But I figured out that bootloader 4883 (newest version) was installed at my phone . Downgrade to 4882 should not be possible, and I'm also afraid of that .
I think I have something to do around Christmas - full wipe and a clean install! Damn...
Try installing this app called "CyanDelta" from playstore. What it does is it downloads the necessary files to upgrade from cm latest build (not the hole file) it's could be around 30 mb only. Totally legit!!... And it would dirty flash after download....
Do let us know how it turns out ?
I already tried CyanDelta, great tool! But as it's just creating a script for TWRP it has the same behavior . Oh, and I discovered that the nightly I'm using is no more available on cyanogenmod's official website ^^.
By now I think I've spend more time on searching for a solution than a full wipe including everything would need  ...
For me TWRP gives this behaviour only when Downloaded zip has some problem in it.
when it's not downloaded correctly it stuck at patching System
Have you tried latest zip?
also check SHA1 after download, doing that will confirm zip is downloaded correctly
Yes, I've tried the newest zip (several days respectively the newest) and I've checked the SHA value every time . The zip verification of twrp itself also doesn't report an error.
Maybe the reason is that I've used CM 12.1 before and made a "dirty" flash. Full wipe is getting closer to me...

Just to say that I am having the same problem. Does the problem exist with Cyanogen Recovery? Can I replace TWRP with Cyanogen Recovery without touching everything else?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can try Cyanogen Recovery
download it and from fastboot
you can either just boot once and try it or flash the recovery replacing TWRP
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Great, I didn't know that it's possible just to boot once with a special recovery image. I'll try cyanogenmod recovery today !
Great news: With use of Cyanogenmod Recovery I was able to flash the newest build :victory:! I'm looking forward to try one day with TWRP, but for now I'm totally up to date . Thank you all again and have some nice days !
Edit: A full wipe and clean install solved this problem completely . Now the flashing with TWRP works again.
Hello lovely XDA-members,
this morning a new OTA update/patch came out for my OnePlus 3T, so I downloaded and tryed to install it right away. My phone is rooted on android 7.0 and I have TWRP 3.0.3-0 installed as my recovery. Normally (when I updated to nougat) after downloading a new update the phone reboots itself into TWRP and installs the update by itself, but not this time. I had to seqrch through my phone and had to install thw update manually. After that I rebooted the phone and it started booting the TWRP recovery again, I tried it again and again and again, nothint changed. So I tried to restore my backup with everything functioning, but this wouldnt help either. :/ I read the few existing threads with this problem and heard of a recovery flag that isnt cleared and the bootloader being the problem. One solution that I found was only for an LG phone and I'm afraid that I'll brick my brand new phone I have absolutely no idea what to do now, I would be so happy if someone could help me with this :$
I thank you in advance <3
Encoutered the same problem. Either you reflash the official or twrp recovery (neither did the trick to me) or use this "emergency tool" (which helped me):
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/unbrick-guide-oneplus-3t.481214/
Btw: TWRP 3.0.3-0 is not working well, switch to 3.0.3-1 beta
Good luck to you
I had the same problem.
How you can ''unbrick it'':
1. Flash a any rom available for the oneplus 3t via twrp
a. after this you will be still in twrp bootloop, to solve this go to step 2
2. Flash back stock recovery via twrp
Now your system will boot again
Optional: Flash back twrp
Just flash stock recovery via adb and you're done. It will fix the problem, you won't lose any data

with the old Twrp from ChincHon I had many problems FCs but with these I have no problems with AoKP and Ressurection Remix super finally a useful Recovery Thank you for that
Dude, THANK YOU. Every other guide I read for installing TWRP on the P Smart just said to run fastboot flash recovery <filename> and it never worked. Following your instructions has gotten the recovery installed.
Saying that though; I've booted into recovery and all I've got is TWRP splash page. Anyone else had that issue?

Hello guys,
just wanna asking again,.. I was going to flash magisk on red magic. I already succeed in flashing the TWRP. But, unfortunately, the TWRP was asking for a password to Decrypt Data...
Does anyone know the solution for this?
I already try to put pin on android and use it on TWRP still no luck here. Is there is a way to decrypt the phone from the system itself??
any suggestions will be great :fingers-crossed:

Flash official recovery from twrp website. If I remember right it will work. But change language to English
If you haven't already find solution you must do factory reset through twrp option to unlock it ,of course this action will wipe all your data.

1. You need to go in boot-loader mode: VOL DOWN and POWER - preferable from power off state and when logo appear release buttons.
2. unlock boot-loader (every time is needed if you want to modify recovery or anything else)
3. install original international recovery: http://www.mediafire.com/file/s3dyqlhsytsflpd/recovery-114.img/file
4. restart in RECOVERY...now you see original recovery : choose English and go and wipe USER DATA (!!!!!!IT WILL ERASE EVERYTHING, ANY IMG< MP# < EVERYTHING FROM INTERNAL MEMORY and DECRYPT IT !!!!!),
erase also cache!!!!!
5. Power OFF
6. Unlock boot-loader (yes, again!)
7. install TWRP 3.3.1 : http://www.mediafire.com/file/nsu9nr0pdknruxw/recovery-331.img/file
8. Boot into TWRP Recovery
9. now install "Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_02.04.2019.zip" : http://www.mediafire.com/file/hquo5qjoi45hy9c/Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_02.04.2019.zip/file
In this way you will decrypt your phone and prevent to encrypt it again on reboot. If you don't Disable verity and force encrypt phone will re-encrypt itself on reboot because Vendor partition contain settings to encrypt data. There is a chance that after step 8 you will need to reinstall original international ROM ver. 114 and immediately after that the "Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_02.04.2019.zip"
After reboot successfully (and no encrypting data) go back to TWRP and flash the last magisk.

Does the songs are getting played into the gsi? Treble GSI have issues like overheating and no sound while playing music. Means no ringtones either. I had put logs for phh but he didn't worked as he is busy. As all gsi uses phh base and fixes, the issues are same across the gsi.
Plus- in pie Chinese vendor the treble support is gone. So no more treble in pie update. Only we have legacy support on 8.1.
I had tried to work onto updating Omni but my motherboard went down. It got burnt. You know how to cook ROMs right ! Why don't you try?
Plus the latest gsi no longer boot idk the reasons with the July updates. Reply to me I am trying to donate a device to anyone who can work on this phone

YES, at this moment sound is a problem in GSI ROMs. In call you have sound but not in media.
I am still looking for solutions.

There are logs on phh thread about sound and other issues on gsi. Take a look if you have any knowledge. You don't need to take logs again I guess. But new GSI don't even boot last time this month when I checked. Maybe I was wrong.
It's just my point of view. You should try to bring up lineageOs with Omni sources coz lot of developers are there to help you if you have knowledge. The device tress are there from Omni. Well 8.1 is still there as lineageOs is still updating and giving security fixes. And most of commits are there for ok our phones in Omni GitHub.

1. You need to go in boot-loader mode: VOL DOWN and POWER - preferable from power off state and when logo appear release buttons.
2. unlock boot-loader (every time is needed if you want to modify recovery or anything else)
3. install original international recovery: http://www.mediafire.com/file/s3dyqlhsytsflpd/recovery-114.img/file
4. restart in RECOVERY...now you see original recovery : choose English and go and wipe USER DATA (!!!!!!IT WILL ERASE EVERYTHING, ANY IMG< MP# < EVERYTHING FROM INTERNAL MEMORY and DECRYPT IT !!!!!),
erase also cache!!!!!
5. Power OFF
6. Unlock boot-loader (yes, again!)
7. install TWRP 3.3.1 : http://www.mediafire.com/file/nsu9nr0pdknruxw/recovery-331.img/file
8. Boot into TWRP Recovery
9. now install "Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_02.04.2019.zip" : http://www.mediafire.com/file/hquo5qjoi45hy9c/Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_02.04.2019.zip/file
In this way you will decrypt your phone and prevent to encrypt it again on reboot. If you don't Disable verity and force encrypt phone will re-encrypt itself on reboot because Vendor partition contain settings to encrypt data. There is a chance that after step 8 you will need to reinstall original international ROM ver. 114 and immediately after that the "Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_02.04.2019.zip"
After reboot successfully (and no encrypting data) go back to TWRP and flash the last magisk.
....If you want to try something else: Download the Resurrection Remix 8. 1, version 64 bit A only gapps from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/resurrection-remix-phh-treble-t3767688

Hello, me again...
I'm trying to do the method that you've explained...
there's a new problem... right now, already try to connect my phone to USB on pc, it always says "USB supplying power on attached device" even for fastboot mode it doesn't work the computer still not recognize anything.. already tried different computer, already tried different cables too... no luck...
Now, I can go to emergency recovery with stock nicely but cannot go to the usual recovery cuz i already installed twrp but the phone itself is encrypted device so nothing to do there, I'm thinking about wiping userdata from emergency recovery,... is it okay to do this? cuz maybe I'm thinking after I wiping the userdata and everything I can get my USB connection again (cuz before i've had similar issue but after install new rom it's working nicely almost with every cable),... what do u guys think? thanks in advance

Well, if you are encrypted you will need to uncrypt your phone.
!!!!!!!But you will lose everithing saved in internal memory!!!!!!!!
Just follow steps 1 to 8 from my previous guide. Then you can reinstall the ROM. If you will install International ROM you will get encrypted again if you don't run Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_02.04.2019.zip right after installing ROM in TWRP!!!!!!!
Wiping everything with original recovery is the best way to clear your phone!!! sometimes is mandatory this, even with advanced wipe in TWRP you wont achieve what you can with original recovery wipe!
Back to report...
Already finished all the things need to be done... and ABM30 method is working nicely.... now, I can enjoy all the root goodness in my red magic with original global rom.
really this is what I'm looking for... Thanks a lot.
Ps: just wanna share for the USB to pc connectivity problems: what I did was connect it on fastboot mode, and do fastboot command for unlocking your red magic.... wait around 5 min, unplug it if nothing happens, plug it again and wait again (until many times), after that you will see your fastboot command from wait mode into something successful... (i dunno why).
and then do reflash the recovery...
for the resurrection remix, I will try it and post it on new thread.... seems interesting

well it doesn't work. It's a part of kernel I guess. There are no sounds from loudspeaker. and there are huge issues with pie in phh treble. He needs logs for that. You can't even login into the google account. There are logs with on treble Phh thread. August images are there. Start taking logs after reading the thread. You will be happy to help him.

Hello sir, I followed each and every step, but device ended up in bootloop. Mostly a soft brick. Every time I power on the device, the logo comes and phone turns off.
I even tried to patch the fstab in /vendor/etc. Same results.
By the way, I could not get the V114 stock global rom which you have mentioned but was able to get V109 stock global rom. If you have the link of the stock rom you mentioned, please provide a link for it. I will just revert back to stock and use it that way. Seems like the device doesn't wants to have an unlocked bootloader and a uncrypted data state ?

you mean twrp mentioned that your device is locked?
Long story short: I tried to install a GSI so I installed TWRP and flashed some necessary zips (vbmeta, mutidisabler, ...) from different sources and the GSI, but maybe it was a bad idea to follow multiple sources, because the phone was bootlooping when I tried to reboot into system. I then wiped everything and reflashed everything but that didn't fix it. After meddlilng around for a while, I was able to get into the download mode, so I thought of flashing the factory firmware with Heimdall. I used samloader and downloaded the supposedlly correct firmware (M215FXXU2BUH6/M215FODM2BUI1/M215FDDU2BUH1/M215FXXU2BUH6, region is BKD). When I was adding the files, I found out that I was missing the following files:
md5.img (MD5HDR)
efs.img (EFS)
sec_efs.img (SEC_EFS)
nad_fw.bin (NAD_FW)
param.bin (PARAM)
steady.bin (STEADY)
uhuh.bin (UHCFG)
blcmd.bin (BLCMD)
spu.img (SPU)
ul_key.bin (UL_KEYS)
nad_refer.bin (NAD_REFER)
dqmdbg.img (DQMDBG)
There were other partitions, but no files were listed for them, so I think they are not supposed to be flashed. There were also two different "fota.zip" files, but I didn't know what to do with them. Anyway, I flashed the other files, but the phone started bootlooping with the bootloader unlocked warning screen. I locked the bootloader from the download mode and tried again but no luck. I tried reflashing everything again, but the flashing stopped halfway with the message "super.img blocked by OEM" or something like that. I performed a force reboot with volume down + power and it rebooted into the "Emergency Recovery Function" screen. I reflashed everything again, but this time, without super.img, and it flashed fine, but the same bootloop problem remained. Looking up on the internet, it seems that efs.img has something to do with the IMEIs. I don't have any backup of it. I also don't know how to get the rest of the files (if all of them are even necessary), or what they even do/mean.
Basically, I'm trying to get it back to the factory software, or salvage it in any other way. Does somebody have any idea how to fix it?
Naah... Stuff like this happens to me all the time.
Download this ODIN first: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/patched-odin-3-13-1.3762572/
Then download this firmware: https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-M215F/BKD/M215FXXU2BUG2
Now first a few things:
1. You probably downloaded a engineer firmware that isnt allowed as of now.
2. Heimdall is mostly dead, last I checked. It isnt very wise to use it.
3. LOCKING THE BOOTLOADER IN A UNSTABLE STATE IS FOOLISHNESS. I do not mean to offend anyone, but pls dont do this.
4. I think you are using ErfanGSI/ some other port. These will NOT work. Only phhusson's GSI's have worked for me so far.
So coming back to the topic, Just open up the ODIN and connect up your phone. It will get recognized. If it is not in emergency/ download modes, just hold vol down + power, then press both vol buttons and connect to pc immediately - it will boot into dl mode.
Select the BL, AP, CP and HOME_CSC. Flash these.
It should reboot right back up into stock.
Also, are you using my vbmeta zip from ItsMeKande's thread?

Thanks for the fast response. I followed your instructions and was able to recover the device. It was actually bootlooping after flashing the firmware. I had to lock the bootloader to be able to successfully boot into the system. I was kind of worried, because I was running Odin in VirtualBox since Odin is Windows-exclusive and I don't use Windows. I'm glad everything worked out well in the end. I used to be into Android modding years ago, but my last Android device was Android 5 based and I stopped modding it once it got to my "perfect state". I haven't kept up with the modding scene since then. Things seems to have gotten a lot more complicated with newer Android versions.

Yes.
Since you seem to know about this stuff, can you recommend a GSI that's customizable, lightweight, and doesn't have GApps or microG?

My to-go answer is always crdroid. Its lightweight, customizable, and comes in variants with gapps, foss and vanilla. The one you're looking for is vanilla. Here's the post where u can find the link
Any official or unofficial lineage OS for Samsung galaxy M21
Hello everyone so I have a Samsung galaxy M21 with One UI 3.1 core. Are there any lineage OS official or unofficial builds for Android 11? If you know please reply to this, thank you in advance!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Hmm, it didn't work. I get bootloops...
Did you follow all the instructions given in that thread?
Only if you flash vbmeta, Multidisabler it will boot.
Then too magisk is recommended. The zips are in that thread.
Follow the instructions and let me know. On guy OldNoobOne also successfully flashed and booted a gsi
Let me know if it works

For Multidisabler just do a google search one for samsung devices will appear
Here's what I did (stock firmware, unlocked bootloader):
1. Boot into dl mode
2. Flash TWRP and boot into it
3. Wipe > Format data > "yes"
4. Reboot > Recovery
5. Advanced > Terminal
6. "cd external_sd/flash"
7. "super mount system"
8. "super flash system crdrom-v313-210921-arm64-bvZ-lite.img"
9. Install > vbmeta.zip, multidisabler-samsung-3.1.zip"
10. Reboot into system
And I get bootloops. Multidisabler detects Android 10, doesn't find the stock recovery and fails to mount /system. Maybe that's the problem? I'm using this one.
Also try flashing magisk... I dont really understand what is happening to you.
Maybe you set the system as read only? Really not sure.
Also, a ROM might be coming soon

Yes, that did the trick! I'm able to boot into crDroid now. I was wondering if I needed to flash something to fix the corners, but seems like a simple reboot fixed it.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your help!
