Whatever happened to FreedomOS? - OnePlus 7 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

I've been running FreedomOS on my OP5 for over a year and a half now. Any chance that it'll see a comeback on the OP7+?

I'm pretty sure I saw a post from him quite awhile ago saying he was taking a break from development.

It's not in development anymore. This tweet says it all.

Darn. Really liked his stuff. Thanks for the info tho.

I hope that the Rom also comes out for the OnePlus 7

TMo 5.1 update?

Sprint got it like half a month ago. When do we get ours? Any one got any info on this? I tried tweeting to @moversi several times but to no avail.
He posted on twitter that they're shooting for 7/20.

Sweet! I can't wait. I don't want S-OFF but I need root so I'm going to have to flash an RUU. I tested it last week. I flashed an RUU of that 5.31.25 update and it downloaded the OTA to 531.33 with no problems.
Pretty annoyed... This update seems to be made out of vapor.
It's ready just don't know why it's not out. ?

I've been told by people who I know have been testing the 5.1 update that it's ready as well. It seems like it was pushed back again for an unnamed reason. Mo Versi has seemingly been inactive on twitter and Des said, "It could be today, tomorrow, or a couple of days."
This is annoying as ****. They keep delaying it day by day. It's fine if they announce it days or weeks prior that it'll be delayed but this is just playing with us.

It all seems like a word game now. I can't believe AT&T got the update before us... ?
Did Verizon get theirs on the 20th like planned? Because if we get ours after even them, that's just horrible.

This is for sure annoying. Been waiting to update my ROM seeing as how I'm gonna have to restore to stock to get the firmware anyway. Wish they could just stick with a date....oh well, guess I'll hope for the best tomorrow now
Hope it's out before Windows 10 :/
Since windows 10 is already rtm and available to all insiders, I'd say that is past.

Yeah. I kinda meant the official July 29th date..
I gotta assume it'll be this week. Something must have happened last minute that stopped them, no matter what they were saying I think the intention was for them to release yesterday but there was a final hold up
Does anyone even know what the changes are besides the ones included in 5.1?

Totally agree. When there is a date mentioned, and it's now two days after that date something should be said by Mo.
The other guy has been trying to keep up with things, but his "last minute" obviously isn't on the same wave length as all of our definitions of the term.

I agree 100% with this. They're being purposefully vague. It would be easy to say, "Hey we discovered a last minute bug so it's on temporary hold." Their just blowing smoke our way trying to shut us up. I won't shut up though because my phone overheats for nothing. You can look at it wrong and it'll shoot up to 110°F.

Well... Des just pretty much said this is HTC's fault. Lol. They are literally waiting for HTC to say the update is going out. I kinda believe it too.

That's honestly not making things any less vague. HTC did already announce 7/20 as the release date.

Which xposed should we use for Android Marshmallow on Nexus 6?

Use the version you develop. Clearly that doesn't exist yet
Same thing every android release. It'll be out after the official release, and source code drops. Don't know how long it will take, but it'll get there. We had a very long wait for 5.0 because of massive changes, not to mention that every time he got it working on one dev version, it was broken as heck on the next dev version, so we just have to wait and see. Hope that explains it well enough. Better than a "When it's ready", or "none" answer everyone always gives.
The Nexus images are now live so I would guess the source won't be far behind it. Can someone comment on the number of changes to ART compared to Lollipop. From the surface it seems that Marshmallow should be 5.2 and not 6.0 but maybe all the changes are under the hood.
It is coming:
rovo89:
"In framework version 74, I have fixed some more incompatibilities which could lead to bootloops or crashes. I assume that most of these crash logs contained the string "Incompatible set properties", which is actually a consequence of previous method verification errors. It's hard to say which ROMs and devices were affected - but flashing the new version shouldn't hurt even if everything looks fine with older versions. If you do notice any issues and are sure that it's not caused by yourself, you have higher chances of getting them fixed if you open a detailed GitHub issue (usually I will need at least a full logcat).
I won't be able to work on Xposed for the next 2-3 weeks - no time for development, support or questions at all. If the rumors I have read are right, I should be ready just in time to start porting Xposed to M."

Remember, the reason why it took so long for an official version for android 5.0 was because lollipop uses ART environment and xposed whas always made for dalvik originally.
So I think it will take less time now.

I hope he's serious about the shorter timeframe.... I'm not sure how art differs.... He claims it's simpler than dalvik so... Just keep us nexus owners updated please. If this thread is what to watch.... Great. Otherwise link please.

I haven't been able to find it, only snarky comments from users here about how its obviously not done. I have checked all the stickeys in this forum as well as the development one...
I doubt you will get much info on progress, as users tend to hold any claims against developers... But I would have though there would be something official saying "its in progress" to try and help stop the inquiries.
Oh well, will be a nice surprise when it drops.

When developer gonna build android 8 rom?
Is it gonna take a week or tomorrow?
This is going to take at least a month before a good solid beta rom will come. Just be patient.

I think OP3T is very developer friendly device so it will take little bit shorter than 1 month, perhaps 2 weeks and we'll get solid AOSP rom

Dude, seriously?
If you can't help them with the developing, then just sit and wait ^_^ need to remember that they are usually doing them for free.

Yeah... it's probably delayed.... duh.

I really don't know why you created this thread. What answers do you expect? What outcome do you want? Our device is almost finished with its updates, since the 18 months are almost done. There's nothing we can do. Please do not start new threads without any mean.

ANDROID Q DP4 "nonout" "when?" "Everything we should know..."
I learned from some information that the android version of q dp4 should be available. the only question is when? on Op7pro is ready. I wonder if it will be so for everyday use as they say about it.
I am opening a thread about the new DP for our OP6T.

If I were new to XDA, I wouldn't write "It will be here when it's here". If you want to pull ranks, I was here a decade before you, in days when current top XDA devs were still hacking phones over at ipmart. Along the way I learned the 1st rule of Android development – don't ask for ETAs, junior.

As always: H2OS update > 2-3 days > OOS Update.
Boy, XDA sure has changed since I joined in '07. Back then, it was strictly "no noob" questions or you'd get flamed.
Rules were that you SEARCHED for something before you asked. Now days, you see a lot of questions asked that have
