Was there an update overnight? All of a sudden the messaging app is acting weird.

So since last night (8/28), if I send or receive a text from another Samsung phone user, the text app gives me "delivered" notifications even when set not to, and it also broke TeslaUnread. Was there some sort of automatic update pushed out last night?!

Just checked my TeslaUnread and it was off... not sure why

I've also noticed that the chat options aren't respected anymore. As in, you will receive and send "read" and "delivered" notifications, even if its set not to. Regardless of how you set it.
Weird-I see too that TeslaUnread was disabled on mine! I had to go in and give it persmissions again (though I already had), so I don't know what's going on.

I'm on manual updates, no Samsung updates since pretty much release date, Google updates you can check yourself, should show in recent updates, not sure how security updates work, but you could check , phone came with
July 1 security installed, didn't change on mine.

yeah same here, it must have been a carrier update that TMobile did, because that didn't happen on ATT

There was this and there were three, I didn't screenshot the other two updates.

Samsung Apps update. There were three updates listed, I just grabbed a screenie of this one before I installed.
EDIT: Galaxy Apps, sorry.

Oh yes yeah I had all those a while ago. I suspect it was a T-Mobile software thing on their side.

Well, I didn't notice anything wrong with my 'Always On' display. Maybe I was missing some feature I should have had, lol.

Yeah mine didn't change either when i did that update...
so far, the stock messages app is still wonky, but Tesla unread seams to be working, but then crashes. Their support department already had me check some stuff and is working on it on their end. I must admit, for a company whom I paid only a few dollars to, years ago, the support from Nova Launcher and TeslaCoil has been outstanding :good:

Off topic a little ----Not a fan of the stock messaging app at all I use QKSMS or Messaging from Playstore. You can mark a text read straight from dropdown and you can reply with QKSMS in a hover screen never leaving your original screen.

It's an update of the google keyboard app...it will come to 6P...it's just a matter of time...this way you can have it now. It may take days before you even see the update in the playstore.

That is very strange, I am not sure why it will do that....I know Google released an updated version yesterday, I believe, so it may have been a bug.

ok I updated today I had the beta before but took the update from the playstore today. I cleared the cache I will try wiping the data next. Also I did visit LA last weekend. But I am not in LA now all my other gps apps work just fine. I will wait until they iron it out. Also I am using franco kernel with the per app profiles gps is turned on.

After I update to Gboard, there is no option to use my picture as keyboard theme anymore. I can delete or edit my own custom theme, but can't make new one. Can anyone help?

Is there anyway to fix 'emojis data not found' I can't search emojis coz of it.

Everytime I change the setting it always says Gboard has stopped and I can't disable vibration keyboard. I flashed the pixel launcher and that was happen

Yes and data roo. Btw I'm on pure Nexus ROM hammerhead then flash a pixel launcher, the original keyboard of mm turns into Gboard, it's good but it won't me allow to change settings coz it's always stopped

Anyone else notice the suggested words are not showing up when typing in a search in chrome?

Btw there is an update on note 9 the day i got my phone. 2 days from this post, havent updated it since i dont like being updated to it nowadays bec of issue's i had with updates before.

That update has been on pause since day 1 for me as well. I'm......hopelessly......holding out for....root ?

I updated straight away. Not a single hiccup for me.

Download Package Disabler Pro + (Samsung). I think it was $1.99, but it's worth having. Once installed, search "Update" and check the second Software Update from the list.

Yeah that's pretty much the only way to get rid of it for good. Mine is now to the point where it's no longer giving me the option to select "Later." Lol. I just hit the back button and it goes away, then I set it to ignore for 2 hours in notification panel. Why the heck is that the only option Google?!

I should've held off updating since I'm not sure if the night / low light shots being yellow/warm is from the update.

Nope. I flashed the U1 version but will have to go back to T-Mobile version because of cell issues.

I did mine it was causing some wierd issues with multiple email not showing up and my mic etc. All good for now

I have not but I thought google officially rolled out the update so why should i have to go through the "hack"? I know people who have gotten it to work on different carrier with the beta version of the messages app but no luck for me.

True. However, we'll see how long it takes for the google roll out to reach everyone. Not too mention if Big Red might impede their progress

So I just applied the hack and it works now. I wonder how the official rollout will affect me. Will I be part of it when it hits?

My wife doesn't know hack from smack and it's been enabled on her device for well over a month now. Verizon, although a Pixel 3. I did the hack and apkmirror official update and it was available. I have the Pixel 4 but I'm also on DSDS with Fi so there was another obstacle. I do remember that I had to "accept" some kind of do you want in kind of thing for her but it works with no mods or offline updates.

Is it possible to enable the new Google maps waze-like features on the pixel 4 XL?

I was playing golf with my nephew and he showed me that he has new features on Google maps on his Samsung S10. Basically it shows crash sites police locations ect.I googled it and can't find a way to enable manually. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

You sure you don't have it? Tap the talk bubble icon with the + inside, then you'll see all the choices to report.

I am pretty sure.
I only have 2 bubbles on the right side of the screen one to search and the other to mute/silence the navigation voice.

Make sure you are on the beta program of Google maps and you'll get it. I have it working on my P4 with the latest Google maps beta.

I have been a beta tester for a long time. This sucks lol

It's been around for a while. I believe it started with speed trap reporting in October. Try uninstalling the beta?

Also not on beta and I've got the goods which also as reported above only work with navigation to a destination active.

Nah, I'm sorry to hear that bud and I'm just happened to be a New Jerseyan like you but mine works fine!

I am giving up on this quest. I guess it boils down to "sux to be me" . Even the iPhone users have this feature. Who knew. I should have bought an iPhone for the Google experience lol.

yes i removed myself from everything i was enrolled in the beta program.
it is no biggie. i am sure it will show sooner or later.
this is a weird "rollout" of a app feature. i have been reading on the net that it comes and goes on people all the time. i will just wait till it comes my way.
i can't find a way online to "force" it to be activated.
