How to hide navigation bar and use gesture controls? - ZTE Nubia Z20 Questions & Answers

Hi, is there any option to hide the navigation bar and enable gestures controls in the global ROM? I'm waiting to receive my Z20 and this is one of the first things I would like to do.
Thank you!

It works fine but the usual stuff about keyboard and what not. I could see it being quite good in pro mode if you select apps that don't really require a keyboard only. I don't think it's worth using for me as I use my phone to write things, so having to many all make the keyboard appear is not worth the effort. Works fine though

I didnt get your point bro..keyboard???
I installed on one of my frends xperia z3...it freezes after some time and then no buttons are available.sometimes buttons are available but didnt work.ultimately I have to reboot the device..any issues with anyone??
I use "all in one gestures" to hide the nav bar. I've set it up like this: swipe up from the bottom right or left corner enables/disables immersive mode. That is the most efficient way to quickly hide the nav bar or bring it back when you need the keyboard that I've found. Does not require root!
It's also possible to use other gestures of course. Does not replace GMD gesture control (which requires root), but it's something!

Yes. You select gesture and set it to activate Fullscreen. When you perform the gesture you enter immersive mode. It's nice because you can quickly disable it when you need the keyboard.

Now on tap while disabling nav bar

Hello
So I disabled the Nav bar and used "All in One gestures" instead.
It gives me more space and I like it alot.
The problem is that now I can't access Now On Tap.
Can you guys think with me for a work around to this problem! Thanks
Anyone.. !?
use one of the gestures to open up the google app... it doesn't search the screen content but none uses that

There looks to be beta builds for LMT that include a way to get Now on Tap to work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150

I'm using bxActions, Stock rom, no root. One of the options is full screen on/off and It works also on home screen.
There is an option in the nav bar settings to do this also. If you go to settings, display and navigation bar it is the top option.

That option is to hide or show the button on left of navigaton bar. Not to hide navigation bar itself.

It does hide the nav bar. you'd have to swipe up to make it appear much like in Macs well except on the homescreen.

The toggle u r talking abt in settings does not hide nav bar but little dot button on left side of Nav Bar sure does it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Disable Nav Bar?

Hi
Is there anyway to disable the Nav? I'm using XDA Gestures which works but ideally I'd like to use Lmt on the bottom instead.
I've tried a build prop edit but it doesn't do anything on note
I have root if it helps
Thanks
Interested to findout the same as well please. I don't have root and want to disable nav bar.

Code:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=*

Hey I came from a google search and tried this, and while it does hide the nav bar, all gesture apps that utilize a swipe up, still brings up the transparent navbar. The nav bar also appears when a keyboard is present.
Any way to completely disable the nav bar so that gesture apps can work properly?

Update to latest Android Pie version. There is option in setting to use gestures instead and hide the navbar completely.

Gesture navigation

Hello, since the android 10 update (ww) the navigation gestures have changed. I seem to have lost the original rog style swipe up from home etc, without any bars etc showing onscreen. Is it the same for everyone?

Yes is same. I like it, but we cannot use it across other launchers
I am using an app called Hide Navigation Bar to hide the white bar, which works great. I tried to use xda's Navigation Gestures for the same purpose but it does not work well in fullscreen landscape game, while Hide Navigation Bar does. That being said, I hope ASUS can implement an official hiding gesture hint feature just like what Samsung does.
I'm using the "adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural" command to re-enable gestures in Nova Launcher, but it's not a perfect solution and resets to standard navigation when the phone reboots.

Many thanks to you both. I'll have a look at those methods, as google's implementation is uuuuugly compared to asus!
Im using these two apps and I can say my experience is even better than what I had on a9 because now I can cboose different options and actions for my gestures
Xda navigation gestures, to hide the navbar (other apps I have tried didnt work) it also has the issue when using the phone in landscape mode the volume control bar goes out of the screen
Fluid navigation gestures, now this app offers everything I could have asked for!
