LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock android for your device.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. If you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Wiki for more details.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Since TWRP doesn't work on Q for our device yet, you can use the lineage recovery. It's built into the rom's boot.img and is available separately on the download portal, named recovery image.
2. The newest vendor, radio, & bootloader img's are included in the rom zip, so no need to flash those manually.
3. Lineage comes with adb root that you can enable in developer options, but if you want root for apps, you can install the magisk apk, then follow these boot.img patching instructions. Use the file labeled 'recovery image' on the lineage rom download portal, which is actually just the boot.img. It is renamed to recovery to simplify the rom install steps.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. The install instructions below result in all of /data being wiped, so backup your stuff if it's important to you.
2. Since TWRP doesn't work on Q yet, you can use the aosp/lineage recovery. It's in the rom's boot.img and is available in the download sections below for initial rom install.
3. My builds include a minimal gapps (MindTheGapps).
4. The newest vendor, radio, & bootloader img's are included in my builds, so no need to flash those manually.
5. lineage-17.0 is new and still in-work, so some custom features from 16.0 have not been ported over yet.
6. If you want root you can install magisk using these instructions https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#boot-image-patching
Downloads:
blueline rom = https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261647887

crosshatch boot img = https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261647892
Initial Install Instructions:
1. Enter this command while In bootloader mode 'fastboot flash boot boot.img', then select 'Recovery mode' with vol & power buttons.
2. Select 'Wipe data/factory reset'. (Note: This wipes EVERYTHING on the /data partition, including internal storage.)
3. Select "Apply update from ADB', then follow on screen instruction to sideload the rom zip. It will say "completed with status 0" on the screen when the sideload has finished successfully.
Update Instructions:
1. If you're already on lineage rom, reboot into recovery mode.
2. Select "Apply update from ADB', then follow on screen instruction to sideload the rom zip.

I was wondering the same thing about the styles/wallpaper/clocks. I was thinking about messing with it given the long weekend when I glanced at my 3XL (running Havoc) lock screen and remembered that I have a clock that I love having on there. I'm sure you are think the same as I am about Squeeze that it is highly unlikely to be working. I was going to go back to Havoc anyways. Oh, I long for the old Nandroid days where I could hot swap ROMs to test.

This is icing on the cake feature. I'm not sure if this is LOS17 feature or if razorloves went to extra lengths to make the process simple but i am absolutely thankful for the builds & installation process.

Thanks to @razorloves for this amazing job! I was expecting for a LOS17 build for a while and it's flawless! No issues at all! Initial setup occurred without any issues.
Working LOS17, Magisk, Adaway, and smooth AF!
Thanks!

Thanks so much! Ive been so eagerly waiting for this!

Blueline - "Error booting boot.img" when trying to boot into lineageos recovery. Im not sure how i can get the logs at this point. Im not sure if i need to be on the latest vendor images & stuff but i was on August patches alongside LOS16. Will try to udate to Android 10 & report back.
Things I've tried:
Redowload the blueline boot.img
Reflashing TWRP then flashing boot.img
Devce details:
Bootloader is unlocked
ADB is enabled
bootloader version:b1c1-0.1-5578427
OS: LOS16
Edit: Updating to latest Android 10 google image resolved this issue.
Edit2: Short review
Rom is very smooth & without any issues. Im not entirely sure if its performance improvements or animation improvements but this feel even snappier than LOS16. Almost everything works. AOD, Wake on raise, Style & Wallpaper options work really well. Files & Claculator seems to support system dark mode. App startup & memory management seems good too.
Awesome features
Style & wallpaper options.
AOD & lock screen clock.
Raise to wake [Not sure this was in LOS16 but i really really like how accurate this feature is in raise detection]
Smooth animations
New gesture & sensitivity options.
Small Issues[Logact created in same order as below issues]
AOD shows expanded statusbar & tiles instead of clock [Im not sure if this is a feature] [Expand statusbar then select edit & let the device auto lock]
Sometimes privacy dashboard is not shown in settings > privacy [Or i am not sure when & what triggers the dashboard]
Settings > System > Status bar > Battery percentage does not work [Settings > Battery > Battery percentage works as an alternative]
Settings app does not seem to support amoled dark yet.
My most missed features
Privacy gaurd [Depricated in LOS17]
Per app data restrictions [VPN , Wifi , Cellular, Romaing] [Usually found in app info]
I do not have attachemnt permission yet, I've uploaded the resources to external site.

OpenGapps: Not Supported anymore, use @razorloves gapps.
First time installing crDroid to your Pixel, or coming from another ROM:
**NOTE** As you probably know by now, marlin and sailfish are weird. You must be on TWRP 3.2.0.0 to install this! 3.2.1.0 does not allow ROM installation. 3.2.0.0 does not encrypt properly, so you must remove your PIN/password before booting to and / or installing it. These installation instructions will assume you already know and have done that.
**NOTE** You are also able to use 3.2.1.-2 (3.2.0.0 or 3.2.1.-2)(Nothing in between)
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip & vendor img to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
5) Flash TWRP ***If you do not do this, you will lose TWRP!***
6) Reboot back into TWRP
7) Flash vendor image
7a) Mount vendor partition, navigate to vendor/overlay and delete that folder
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk 16.2
If you like music like I do and want to make it better, see post #3 for instructions on installing ViPER4Android.
Instructional Video
I Apologize about video quality, but this will help get you an idea of the steps involved.
Steps are the same for Marlin and Sailfish. Use corresponding files for device.
https://youtu.be/mmxIrp7BiRk
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
KNOWN ISSUES
None that stand out, If you find something that is consistently reproducible, do so and pull a log. Without logs, we cannot fix the bugs. Please report any that you run into, assuming you have tested on a clean install. :good:
NOTE ON SUBSTRATUM
We currently do not have substratum commits in the ROM because they have not updated their repos on git for Oreo. As such, if you want to use Substratum, you will be doing so by allowing root and using legacy mode. you -must- make sure whatever theme you try supports 8.1. Even some that say they support Oreo may only work with 8.0, not 8.1. I'd recommend the following:
Suggestion: whenever installing themes, remove your pin/password so you can get TWRP to mount data.
If you get in a FC/bootloop situation, boot to TWRP, mount data and remove the file /data/system/overlays.xml.
That should allow you to boot and uninstall the overlays without reinstalling anything.
Don't expect any support if you:
- are not running the included kernel
- have installed any mods such as Xposed!
- have modified system files
Thanks to:
- @razorloves - Without his device tree and kernel bringup to work from, crDroid for marlin & sailfish would not be possible at all. Apart from the ROM development itself (for which @neobuddy89 bears the largest burden, in addition to the great developers of LineageOS itself), credit for this ROM being able to even build goes to razorloves.

I already said it in my post above, but feel it needs repeating. HUGE thanks to @razorloves , without whose marlin bring-up this ROM would still not be built.
Also thanks to @almightysiman for confirming the ROM functions on sailfish.
Side note: You won't find BETA2 for sailfish. I skipped it so sailfish & marlin were on the same version number.
*** NOTE - We cannot actively support audio (or any other) mods. I'm posting this because it works for me and I use it personally. This is not supported by our ROM team. Only the ROM / vendor / gapps and nothing else is supported by the crDroid development team. ***
If you like music as much as I do and prefer to use Viper4Android, install it as follows:
0) This requires Magisk; install Magisk 15.x (whatever is most recent)
1) Using a root explorer (I prefer FX File Explorer), navigate to /system/system/priv-app/AudioFX and rename AudioFX.apk to AudioFX.BAK. Reboot.
2) Install three Magisk modules:
a) Magisk SELinux Permissive Script (Get it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-magisk-selinux-permissive-script-t3577549)
b) Busybox for Android NDK v1.27.2 by osm0sis (Get it from Magisk downloads in the Magisk app)
c) ViPER4Android FX v2.8 by ahrion, zackptg5 (Also from Magisk downloads)
3) Reboot.
4) Enjoy your better music!
Awesome! :fingers-crossed:

You have to mount vendor (TWRP/Mount/Vendor, back), then go to Advanced / file manager/ navigate to /vendor/overlay. Choose delete, swipe right.
Gotta say, this is, so far, the perfect flashing experience in Oreo ROMs. I had no force-closes at setup, and no issues with the flashing process. So far, it has been great. Gonna use it for a few days, but as of now, this looks like my daily driver. Thanks again for this!

The dark theme auto switcher was disabled by our Dev. It was causing issues. I'm not surprised it didn't switch for you, but definitely am surprised it was enabled at all.

I have a question, how can I make version 6 of google camera work? It seems that the following properties must be activated in addition to the typical HAL3 and EIS.
Code:
persist.vendor.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
Code:
persist.camera.stats.test=5
Code:
persist.vendor.camera.stats.test=5
But when I do the modification the build.prop is not read. How can I make it work?

Theres no need to flash anything or edit any lines in build.prop.
Btw just flashed latest wayne crdroid over latest jasmine version and it seems to be smoother and performing better in benchmarks.

I saw an update for January 21, 2019. When I wanted to download the file at Mega.nz, it ask for a decryption key to download the file. I hope you can share the decryption key, because I like this ROM.
many thanks for great rom.
not sure whats causing it but i feel like the new build is getting a lot of stutter while gaming (pubg) compared to december build
I did not mean to activate camera2api. I mean to use a mod of version 6 of the google camera, 90% of these fail, no apk installs. it says "App not installed"
Do you use gcam v6?

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we are now based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the GZOSP team, if it concerns their code base. This ROM isn't GZOSP supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Android 10 is now Pure AOSP! For our pleasure. :victory:
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.
*
*/
Feature list (rough overview)
In the beginning we would like to thank:
GZOSP team
LineageOS & CM (R.I.P.) team
@Maxwen and the rest of the OmniRom team
DU team
SlimRoms team
Resurrection Remix team
Community
...
@LorD ClockaN
@zipsnet
@eyosen
@semdoc
@SpiritCroc
@wartomato
@eboye
plus the rest of the crazy bunch that we call "team"
...
We are paying for servers that build nightlies/weeklies and everything that comes with it, so EVERY DONATION will really be appreciated and be used to cover those expenses.
Thank you!!

FAQ:
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page. <<< This way is the easiest!
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android 10. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM zip. We recommend Magisk!
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing if you're coming from a different ROM and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. Once you're on AICP you can dirty flash new builds without wiping anything, unless stated otherwise!
-----
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
If you've got everything nice and backed up:
1. Fastboot -w (not usually necessary, this will wipe data and internal as well as format to ext4 and remove any encryption).
2. Fastboot flash boot "twrp boot.img". Use the F2FS TWRP image linked here - F2FS TWRP Boot). Reboot to recovery (on the phone).
3. In TWRP - wipe System, Data, and Dalvik. OR do a full wipe including Internal Storage, if you want to switch to F2FS and go Decrypted which is Recommended!). You'll have less hassle with dirty flashes later, but your phone may be less secure. Whichever way you look at it, its your decision!
[*]NOTE - Its recommended to format to F2FS file system at this stage before flashing ROM. However, not essential!
[*]Change filesystem: Go into Wipe > select Data > Change Filesystem > F2FS
(I believe encryption won't work if you switch to F2FS, so only do it if you're okay with that).
4. Transfer the ROM zip and the TWRP installer zip to your SDCARD.
5. Flash the ROM zip and the TWRP zip (FYI, flashing a ROM by any method will install to the opposite slot, the TWRP zip patches both slots).
6. Reboot to recovery (Reboot > Recovery), ignoring when it says "No OS Installed" (this will automatically switch slots for you).
7. Back in TWRP - transfer the latest Magisk zip to your SDCARD and flash it. (Magisk always installs to the current slot).
8. Reboot to system. It will fail to boot once because of Magisk, that's normal just let it do its thing.
9. Go through setup.
10. Enjoy the ROM!
NOTE: If coming from AICP Pie it's still recommended to make a FRESH START!
The ROM has GApps built in, so you don't need to flash them! There is no GAppless option.

Thanx bro keep testing
This is the most put together ROM for the essential phone on Android 10 that I have found. Great job. I did see in the list of features that there is supposed to be a one-handed mode I can't seem to find that anywhere. Could someone point that out where to locate it? This ROM works seamlessly with Magisk 20.2 and Viper4Android intalls without having to do a weird workaround to get its drivers going. I do get a notication that my Bluetooth isn't functioning sometimes. I go into TWRP, clean the cache and reboot. The Bluetooth warning goes away and Bluetooth works fine.
Navigation is blank
The rom perfect but i open navigation on Aicp extras is blank. Thank you.
NICE!
Is the Custom Volume Steps feature implemented yet? Saw it on the app, but am not seeing it in the settings

The Screen Off Animation "CRT" (AICPExtras-Animations-Screen off Animation) causes a UI restart. When CRT is selected, each time I push the Power button, I get the boot animation and the start up loading.
Also, here'e the Nav screen pic

Known issue about CRT, look under "Known Issues" in the OP. Its right there.
Thanks for the Navigation screenshot I hadn't seen that, because I have no need to go there.
Currently there are no options for Navigation within AICP Q right now it seems, but you dont really need them. Just go to System - Gestures and everything you need is there, if you want more customization then use a custom Launcher like the one from Post 2. Problem solved. :good:
Thanks! Sorry I missed the CRT known issue.
Thx for the wonderul ROM. One of the best I've ever tried.
I've found 2 issues only:
-Everything is very fluent until scrolling/swiping becomes very slow for moments (seconds). It just comes and goes. It can be noticed when you try to swipe/scroll on the launcher or the notifications panel.
-It happened to me today that after using the gcam you posted for a while (in night mode) at some point the phone started to reboot every time I tried to take a photo. This issue was persistent between reboots and regardless of the camera app being used. The funny thing is that the issue disappeared after a while and then it came back. So looks like the camera needs to "cool off" after taking several pictures in a row.. weird
Again, thanks for the great work

It happens to me as well. Thing is GCam takes a lot of processing power, it also happens on stock if you start taking pictures on low battery. Phone will just die. Don't know if something that can be fixed, could be a problem with GCam itself, or something in the kernel that messes **** up and makes the phone think that it has no battery.
Only fix I could find is using nonHDR photos when phone has 30% or less battery. Non HDR photos look terrible though.

Good to know. Thanks for the tip. However in my case I still had 70% of the battery left, but it could be that I was making a very intensive use of the phone because of the low light mode.. Very strange.
So far I have been liking the ROM a lot except for one big issue: whenever I install magisk, Wifi and Bluetooth are completely disabled. Reinstalling the ROM without it fixes the issue, but now I dont have a rooted phone. Any idea what I'm missing?

I am trying to use the latest stable release which is v20.3
EDIT: I got it working. My mistake was assuming the twrp img I used when first installing the ROM was all I needed, and I did not use the TWRP installer zip from their website. Everything is working now after actually using the installer zip.

Notes:
1. lineage-18.1 comes with adb root that you can enable in developer options, but if you want root for apps, you can grab the magisk apk and rename it to .zip and install it in lineage recovery.
An alternative install method is to follow these boot.img patching instructions. You can get the boot img directly from the lineage download site. It's labeled as the recovery img but it's actually the boot img.
2. The newest vendor, radio, & bootloader are included in the lineage rom zip, so no need to worry about updating those manually.
Known issues:
1. when you format data in lineage recovery, you might see "cant send spi message". you can ignore it.
2. there's an issue with sprint mobile data not working. we're looking into it. there's an easy workaround though. send me a pm and i'll walk you through it.

On crosshatch alternate build it's working very smooth and incredible well for first build, so far the only problem it's that gaming heats faster than usual.

Thank you so much, it works fine on crosshatch, any updates are highly appreciated!
For me, it is an exclusion criteria if there is no root and no lineageos available for a device.
____
The only problem for me was to use the wrong version of Magisk ending up in a non booting device.
So if you update to lineage-18 and want to get root, you will want to take the canary version of magisk manager to patch the boot.img.
#Crosshatch
great to see the simplest rom available
it booted with the first link provided.
much obliged
I will use it and report my experience with it.

Hi razorloves. Thanks for all your hard work. But I'm having serious issues booting into any lineage recovery (I've tried multiple nightly builds from 17.1 and multiple boot.img from this thread). All are failing. I do fastboot flash boot boot.img (I've also tried both boot_a and boot_b) but once i reboot it goes back into fastboot and give me an error with the boot img. Yet when I do htis with twrp-3.3.0-0-blueline.img i boot into twrp fine. (only issue there being that the zip files for lineage os fail to flash when installing from twrp. I've also tried with stock recovery and that give the same error as twrp).
I should also note that when i do fastboot boot boot.img the boot just hangs and never goes through.
Any suggestions?

Perro
Hello,
Glad to find crDroid on my Note 10 pro (after having it on my Note5 pro and on my Note 8T, both in my kids' hands now).
Small additional information for beginners:
1) after having formatted the data (and answered "yes"), it is necessary to reboot on the Recovery before installing crDroid
2) If you come from "Arrow" ROM, you can't directly install crDroid. Indeed, Arrow OS changes things in the "vendor" partition, while the installation of cdDroid doesn't seem to affect this partition. I tried to switch directly from Arrow to crDroid, but the phone was rebooting on Recovery. The best is to flash MIUI. Then (no need to start on it) you can flash crDroid.
3) Finally, I have already had several issues after updates crDroid on my other phones (dirty flash), because of the encryption. Now, to protect from problems, I deactivate the encryption (especially with the Note 10 pro, TWRP seems to be still in beta). Usually, to turn off encryption, I would use #dfe. But it doesn't work in this case. So, I recommend that you use "rmcrypt.zip" found in the "Arrow" forum, and which I attach to you in this post.
Important note: If you are using "mcrypt.zip" to turn off encryption, turn off OTA updates. You have to update manually, because you have to relaunch mcrypt after each system update.
Otherwise, the ROM seems to work pretty well. With the exception of the camera: as with other ROMs: selfies are limited to 4 Mpixs (even with GCam).
Enjoy
Manu D.

hmm, both of my banking apps working just fine using magisk hide & hide and rename magisk manager app, so not sure why it's not working for you...
check if your device passes safetynet test either with or without magisk, selinux should be enforcing
All in all, love it! Thank you!
Two issues that I found:
Sound is a bit distorted in comparison with Arrow OS or stock.
Brightness lives its own life, needs constant tweaking.

Good sense of humor! Yes, the brightness issue raises its head in all ROMs like birth pangs in a baby.
I'm waiting with bated breath for the OSS version to come up next month before I migrate from Arrow. Don't want to keep backing.restoring my data every other day.

There's issue with ro.debuggable which will get fixed in my next official build, for now you can flash this magisk module - https://github.com/kdrag0n/safetynet-fix/releases
Decided to give another try. Brightness is not that terrible this time.
Stumbled upon non-working Android Auto.
This is a common LOS problem according to the net and might be caused by gapps.
Hello,
I experimented a big issue.
I was under crDroid 7.7 with rmcrypt.zip to be sure to have no problem with encryption.
I tryed to update manually to version 7.8 (with the same rmcrypt.zip) and the system stayed frozzen at boot on the colored eye (colors loop again and again for hours).
After this bad experience, I tryed again to update without rmcrypt.zip : same result.
But after that, my data was unaccessible. The only solution was to format and came back to v7.7. It was impossible to install v 7.8 :-(
Of course, I need to reinstall and setup all my apps. Was it a problem with gapps and my uncrypted system ?
So, is it possible to have a vanilla version of v7.8 ?
Thanks by advanced,
Manu D.

latest CrDroid 7.8 is OSS vendor based, while changing vendors MIUI -> OSS clean flash is mandatory, for decryption you should use DFE, check below...
[SCRIPT][FLASHABLE] Encryption disablers for Redmi Note 10 Pro (MIUI vendor, OSS vendor) [SWEET]
So, here is a little script, which I modified to work on Redmi Note 10 Pro (tested and working on sweet). I didn't create this, only modified it, so all credits goes to ghostrider_reborn. Edit: found another working encryption disabler...

Thank you very much, this information is important to know. I will try again with a clean flash.
NB : but even with this solution, is it possible to have a vanilla version without gapps ?
Thanks by advance... Sincerely,
Manu D.

around a week ago the dev asked on telegram if we want vanilla version and when people said yes, he said "OMK will post after 2 hours" (whatever that means), but so far nothing like vanilla hadn't been released
