Magisk patch the image through Magisk manager then use fastboot to flash it, using fastboot flash boot (name).img
When you've installed Magisk, just download the module and go into Manager and add it to modules.

does it support hbm?
high brightness mode

Your magisk module helps pixel 3 cool down a lot and save more power
I really appreciate.

Not true. The magisk module affects the powerhint.xml file which tells your power HAL what frequencies to boost your cpu/gpu to on certain tasks. It can be used with any kernel, I don't tweak anything that isn't part of the stock kernel
Edit: even this was misworded slightly, this tweak is completely independent of the kernel itself, and actually touches nothing inside the kernel.

That's strange, well just reflash Google's stock kernel. I haven't had this issue to be honest, if you're not using a June dtbo that could be the issue

I have the same issue with the factory firmware. Flashing the regular boot.img did not solve the issue. Edit: flashing dbto.img as well did.

I had this same issue so, I decided to dirty flash the stock rom and touchscreen started working, flashed using FKM and once again touchscreen did not work.
I dirty flashed the stock rom once again, grabbed the IMG file and flashed it in fastboot and everything worked.

Q&A - Tangerine kernel

Hello,
finally I'm creating this thread where you can discuss about Tangerine, ask questions, post your problems... Without filling the development thread.
You don't know where to post something? This schema will help you.
Questions about the kernel (Does it have ****?) > here
Problems you faced, and/or their solutions > here
Things I should read/know > the development thread
Questions that can be answered by any user (not only by me) > here
Miscellaneous posts > here
In a nutshell, if you have to post something that I have to read, post it in the development thread, otherwise use this thread.
I will not read this thread at all. Or maybe I'll check it every now and then
Development thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/orig-development/kernel-tangerine-kernel-v1-t3073297
I've flashed 7.1 on ArchXperiaLP and got bootloop...then have tryed 6.6 a1 and gets bootloop...finally I reflashed ArchXperiaLP from scratch and left tangerine away...can I flash that update safely now? I've used twrp flashed keenel and wipes cache/dalvik previous tries...
Where I'm wrong?

Sorry for being a bit offtopic, but there is any other custom kernel for AICP 10, except Tangerine?
While I love the features of Tangerine and I praise the work of its author, unfortunately the kernel is pretty much useless for me due to its screen/device freezing bug.
Thank you.

Sorry to say but there is no kernel atm. Use stock kernel (for me it gives better battery life)
I dunno what's wrong but cant install anything than 6.6 (non a1) and in that way I lost root...
ALL other versions wont works for me, gives me boot the system till temasek(I'm on ArchXperiaLP latest version) app opt and than reboot always(not on same app opt)after some app optinised like latest 7.2_a2 or gives me bootloops...
Any way to fix at least root with some package to flash from twrp?
PS I've flashed the kernel from cm recovery and also from twrp after flashing tangerine(recovery works well) and than flushed cache/dalvik....

You're right, stock kernel it's just fine, the only issue is that I can't install FauxSound. I need FauxSound for increasing calls volume, I have a friend I'm talking everyday and I can't hear a thing he's talking on the phone. I'm using Tangerine especially for FauxSound.

This is a long debated topic where most of us have reached the conclusion where double tap to wake should not be added. This is because the hardware on this phone doesn't support the feature and may cause severe battery drain or other major problems.

@flash- or anyone else that might be able to help with this: what if someone flash Tangerine Kernel and leave it untouched, without tinkering with any of its options. Would it still be an improvement over the Stock Kernel?
These questions (and answers) could be in the first post of the original thread, if I might humbly suggest. It would save people a lot of trouble.
To install v8 can I flash AICP ROM + T Kernel at the same time or need to flash only the rom then reboot and flash T Kernel with Rashr?

At the moment, Tangerine hasn't got any improved default setting. So flashing it and leaving it untouched doesn't improve the performance. However I'm working on a script that will set the best settings at boot!
It's normal that ater every reboot Disable HW overlay gets disabled. It's not a persistent setting.

Rashr is giving problems. Place your Philz img file in /sdcard, rename it to recovery.img, open a terminal on your phone and type:
su -c "dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel"
Then press enter and grant su access.
Or, use an old version of Rashr.
It work using rashr 2.3 version... Thanks so much.... :salute:

Hey guys!
So, to me it seems a big issue, but I hope my thing would be easy to you, I don't know that much. Here's what's happening:
I used CrystalPA before, then I decided to go for OwnROM 5.1. I performed a clean install thru CWM, but I flashed old gapps, so it bugged. Then I flashed the right gapps (delta gapps, 5.1). Still didn't worked, the home wasn't opening, so I flash the stock ROM so I could use my phone for a while. On wednesday, I rooted the stock, then flashed the ROM again, this time with outdated tangerines (they seemed to have less bugs to me - reports that on v5.0 the wifi was working, and that's pretty much all I need). This time the ROM booted and I could play with it, but the wifi switch still doesn't turn on. I flashed every tangerine I could find, from 6 to 7.2, with twrp and cwm. Nothing. Than this guy told me today to flash it all over again, this time rebooting between ROM and gapps. I did. Clean - install ROM - reboot - install gapps - reboot - flash stock kernel - reboot (soft brick, bootloop) - flash t8 - reboot. Everything works beautifully and smoth, but with no wifi it's useless to me. Any ideas??? Do I need to flash another kernel, or another ROM?
And I already flashed the tangerine again with twrp, still nothing.

[Kernel][Oreo] NiKernel for Pixel/Pixel XL

- STUFF YOU SHOULD READ -
- I'm not responsible if anything goes horribly wrong but I take measure to reduce the risk of this happening.
- Most, if not all, builds are tested by me personally before they are released.
- This kernel is aiming for peak single-core performance and efficiency while maintaining fair multi-core speeds.
- This isn't just some other kernel in my eyes, it might be to you, but I put a lot of interesting changes in the kernel for benefit analysis.
- I'm still quite young in the development field but I try to learn more and to improve my pieces of work.
- I always use the latest kernel on my personal device to be able to find bugs and it makes it easier to fix issues.
- Have fun, compatible with both the Pixel and Pixel XL. (sailfish and marlin respectively)
- FEATURES -
- Up-streamed to Linux 3.18.71 (CAF AOSP branch)
- Sound control (speaker, headphones, mic)

It's not stock, I've been testing things for about a week, it has KCAL, dynamic fsync, backlight dimming, high brightness mode, passes safetynet with SuperSU without SUhide, still working on it and trying to improve some aspects of it.
Edit: Oh, it's also using Linux 3.18.71.

What SuperSu version are you using? I can get the kernel to install, but when I try to install SuperSu version SR3-SuperSu-v2.82-SR3-20170813133244, it goes back to the stock kernel.

It's not really a bug but when you flash SuperSU it creates a backup of the stock boot image. When you flash a kernel and reflash SuperSU, it restores the stock image first basically wiping the custom kernel. The only fix is flashing the stock boot.img for your device in fastboot or TWRP, then installing the kernel and SuperSU.

[9.0|PIE][SEMI-GSI]Pixel Experience 9.0 V3 [NOTE9/S9/S9+]

Pixel Experience ROM for the Galaxy S9+ and the Galaxy S9
What is this?
Pixel Experience is an AOSP based ROM, with Google apps included and all Pixel goodies (launcher, wallpapers, icons, fonts, bootanimation)
Our mission is to offer the maximum possible stability and security, along with essential features for the proper functioning of the device
Based on Android 9.0

Semi-GSI? what's that?
a semi-gsi (at least by my own definition) is a gsi built from source, with heavy patches intended for a specific device that wouldn't make the gsi necessarily as universal as a gsi should be. so in terms: don't flash this on other devices.
How does this differ from any other gsis out there/what are the features?
Well this includes a number of fixes including:
Dual speakers are working.
Ui lag is no more (at least 99.99%).
Aod is working/enabled.
Auto brightness is kinda working.
MTP is working
Other performance fixes and improvments.
What's working/not working?
First up:
Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS Pixel Experience. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS PixelExperience.
Click to collapse
2ndly the semi-gsi has a few quirks of it's own. Nothing major or worth noting but you should check the "anything else i should know?" part in the FAQ. hence why HWC is broken
Instructions:
Make sure TWRP has been installed and functional.
Download the latest build image and kernel linked below
Reboot to recovery
Wipe system, data and cache from the wipe menu
Select flash image in twrp, lower right side on the install menu
Flash the rom image as system (and gapps). DONT flash gapps. they are already included in the rom.
Flash the kernel image corresponding to your model as boot
Reboot and enjoy :victory:

Troubleshooting/FAQ:
Q:Can i use any other kernels with this gsi?
A:Nah, not really. I built this kernel specifically to work with this gsi and it includes a few major fixes (for example mtp won't work, major ui lag, no dual speakers etc if you switch to another kernel. But again. If you want to use other kernels, they should* boot. Endurance kernel even has my dual speaker patch and i confirm as working. But again expect bugs.
Q: Is there anything else i should know?
A: Ehhhhhhh, not really. I mean there are some stuff i'm really not proud of,for example to "fix" the ui lag i had to set the minimum gpu frequency to 455; this shouldn't create any issues(perhaps some battery drainage when screen is on) but afaik it doesn't impact sleep or anything else.
Q: My mobile data (3G/4G) is not working
A: Go into network settings and select/create an apn
Q:Would this be preferred over a device specific rom?
A: Overall nah. The reason i didn't set on building device specific los16.....well actually i did and failed. But this is a pretty good placeholder until someone more skilled than me takes over and creates pie device trees.
Q: Safetynet doesn't pass?
A: Yeah, i guess that's a thing. Go into magisk and download some module called props hide or something. Don't forget to run it from terminal. It should work from there
Q: The rom isn't booting/camera doesn't work
A: Flash/make sure you have the BRI4 vendor, the linked kernel and try again.
Q: The rom is in a bootloop/google apps keep crashing
A: You did read the instructions and NOT flash any gapps riighhttt?? smh, wipe /system,/data and /cache and start over
Q: I have another bug; How can i tell it to you while slightly increasing my changes of it ever getting fixed.
A: You can tell me what's going on either here or on telegram WITH A LOGCAT attached(required);if rom isn't booting at all attach /proc/last_kmsg.
Q: I don't know what/how to logcat. Is it really necessary?
A: Logcat or gtfo
Q: How can i support you?
A: Awwww thanks; On most of my posts on the left side there's a "donate to me" paypal button; You can use that, donations are more than welcome, or if you don't have any $ to spare you can also post here about how awesome i am (this surprisingly helps very much)
Credits:
The lineageos team; device maintainers who did a wonderful job at creating device trees
The pixel experience team for creating the rom we so do enjoy
Many good people from the telegram group (linked above) that helped me create this project and spamming for etas

Which model nr are you?
The ideal way of doing it was to have the latest vendor installed (i have BRI4 rn) wipe /system, /cache and /data. Flash just the system img and the kernel img and it should boot just fine. Can you try this?
So far so good. Recording video on my s9+ screen flashes green, stereo speakers work on SoundCloud but not with play music, still testing. Thanks

System_Image for the rom and Boot for the kernel.
I installed the latest Benzorom 9 and this works!
Than again your rom without your kernel, it goes than further, the Google boot animation doesnt disapeared, but cant boot into system.
So something must be wrong in the kernel for the 960F version.

Has anyone with a small s9 booted the rom using the kernel?
EDIT: ok apparently the small variant is bootlooping, will delete the link and get back later

Flashed successfully on Exynos S9+. I can make calls but cannot receive calls. Any idea why?

Notes From telegram group TWRP Update
Starting this build, recovery supports flashing stock firmware without modifying the updater-script. In order for it to be possible ,ro.product.device has to be set to ASUS_X00TD. This, however, breaks flashing of custom ROMs that check for either X00TD or X00T. I'll upload latest XenonHD build that can be flashed on this recovery.Simply supporting it doesn't mean that you can flash stock firmware directly; you need to be at least on stock when you flash the recovery, so required properties can be exported to /persist which then will be set on every recovery boot up.
Still not sure though, as some ROMs check for ro.product.device and then fallback to ro.build.product for matching devices.
Works, no problems. good job. Thank you

can i flash to stock 340, android 8.1 ?
Yes
so, is this recovery able to flash FW that downloaded from asus website?
without single edit?
and what about encryption?
i'am planning to flash stock pie 0.53 from ressurection remix pie.
So can I just flash the full rom without modifying it?

Also, I recommend stick with RR ROM ,Stock update is still a waste.

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][11][R]LineageOS 18 for z5c (suzuran)[BETA]

Hi all:
Here is a LineageOS 18.0 BETA ROM for Z5 compact (suzuran).
Download 2020-12-11
This is a 7z archive with the zip'ed ROM and the md5 file in it. Please unpack this archive, copy the included two files somewhere to your device, reboot into TWRP and flash this zip file. Enable zip verification and md5sum checking.
Kernel sources
Tree sources
Features:
OS Version: 11 (R)
Kernel: Linux 3.10
Kernel 3.10.108
New: Android security patch level: 5 November 2020 (see attached screenshot)
Using Sony blob's from stock version 32.4.A.1.54
Important informations:
You should be familiar with general installation of custom ROMs.
Required for installation: TWRP 3.2.1 (pick the version from 2018-02-23!!!) There is a version 3.2.3 out there, but with that version I had problems to restore my backups. 3.2.1 is just working perfect for me!
This ROM needs a clean install, old /data may cause problems!
This ROM is NOT pre-rooted. For rooting you can use Magisk.
Working:
Phone calls
SMS
WiFi
Bluetooth
Fingerprint
GPS
Location services
Headset
LiveDisplay
Enforced SELinux support
Torch
German app AusweisApp2
Offline charging
Notification LED
NikGapps (pick this version: ARM64, 11.0, core [tested]).
New: Camera; both built-in camera (Camera2) and 3-rd party camera apps.
Camera2 may be a little bit laggy, please use 3-rd party camera app instead; for example OpenCamera. If you're running into errors, please report.
New: FM-Radio (maybe it needs a few restarts before it's working)
These things are NOT working:
Restart into recovery
Maybe some more things are not working.
Use this ROM at your own risk! It comes without any warranty! I'm not responsible for any damage! If you don't agree with that, don't try to flash this ROM in any way.
Benefits:
Added F-Droid and UnifiedNLP! If you don't want this, simply de-install it.
I've set maximum speaker volume to a higher value.
I've increased microphone gain.
I've changed the microfone gain to avoid echo in phone calls.
I was just gonna ask if you're planning on jumping on it after seeing the post from XDA. Am I assuming that whatever you did to make the camera work on LineageOS 17 didn't work with 18?

I'm using nearly the same source code that Tarkzim uses to build a ROM for Z5. And there the camera is working. I don't know why the camera is not working at our Z5C.
I have one or two ideas left; then I'll see...
Is there TWRP 3.3.1 for Z5C? This one's download link is dead.
---------- Post added at 08:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 PM ----------
So is there supposed to be a vendor partition? Magisk wouldn't install because it can't mount vendor.
New version out; see 1st post.
Camera working; both built-in camera (Camera2) and 3-rd party camera apps.
Camera2 may be a little bit laggy, please use 3-rd party camera app instead; for example OpenCamera. If you're running into errors, please report.

Yes. I'm using this version of magisk.
What about encryption capabilities with this ROM?
Never tried to use encryption; in none of my ROMs; not even in stock ROM.
So, please try it and report about the results here...
But beware, TWRP can't handle encryption at all!
New version out; see 1st post.
Fixed: Searching in the settings menu and access to the developer settings menu.

How did you work around the vendor partition?
And I don't think that's the official version (or at least the site isn't). You should try the one from GitHub in case they're different.
I remember the developer criticized Android Authority for linking to that site instead of the Github repo.
Edit: got it to work with 21.1
Any plans on enabling signature-spoofing?

you can install microG by edxposed signature spoofing module.
i using berni's los 15.1 and i installed xposed and signature spoofing module then flashed microG so everything works good
But If @Berni-0815 build AospExtended rom for our device, (this rom better than los, becuse it has many many features like own wakelock blocker, ui customization, signature spoof...) then we will Very Happy
flashed this and successfully booted last night... ran it for the evening with great stability. also successfully flashed magisk21 with no issues. camera needs work before calling it a daily but super stoked to see this!!! thanks so much!!!
